Another fantastic novel by Gemma Rogers. I loved this twisty suspenseful story set in a stunning location. An brilliant, fast pace beach read xx

1⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advanced copy of The Honeymoon.
Kelly sees her husband of a few hours sleeping with his best friend’s wife on there wedding day. She is crushed and decides to go on her honeymoon alone. Except a few days later her husband shows up with his best friend and his wife. She starts to realize she does not know her husband as well as she thought.
This book was definitely not what I expected. I feel like I was reading two different books with the first half being about the honeymoon and the second half being a totally different story. The book was trying to tell too many different stories in my opinion. I was not a fan at all.

A super holiday book with a bit of everything from romance to treachery. So yes it’s a bit long winded and lots of unlikely scenarios but a good solid read all the same. I couldn’t leave it till I had it read anyway.

WoW........Round of applause to Gemma Rogers for writing another fantastic book!!!.........WoW
The Honeymoon by Gemma Rogers was just another superb read from start to finish with lots of brilliant twists and turns throughout with a Jaw dropping ending! This latest book by Gemma a great page turner from the very first page and then before I realised I had finished it! NOOOOOO I didn't want this book to end! Jaw on the floor!
Kelly's wedding should have been the best day of her life, a new life as Husband and wife and finally married to her sweetheart from school called Ryan. The wedding was perfect and Kelly looked amazing!

She runs to her hotel room, gets changed, collects her suitcase etc and her passport. But, before she goes she does something that is so out of character of her...............She then orders a taxi and flee's to another hotel.
Kelly realises that she’s not the only person who is going to have fun, with only a few hours left before she will be on her so called luxury honeymoon. ten blissful days of Cretan Island life, Now minus my cheating husband Ryan.
Kelly finally lands in Crete, the sun is shining and arrives at her hotel, her room etc looks amazing.............Now she needs to figure out what to do, but she is devastated that everything and her life is over. Ten years she has been with Ryan and he does this to her!!! Why?
Kelly blocks all his calls and all communication from Ryan but she finds out he is on his way and is on the next flight out to Crete!!! Ryan, is determined to find Kelly and stay married. In his eye's he did nothing wrong, he is a perfect husband.
After a few days into their honeymoon, two unwanted guest also turn up His lover. Kelly's so called friend Liza and her husband Bobby who is his friend and business partner of Ryan's.
The honeymoon from hell only gets worse and the truth has to come out at some point............. But Ryan has more secrets up his sleeve and with all his lies he will slip up sooner and later!!! and Liza will slip up soon and everything with come out in the open!
Kelly needs to make changes before it is too late. But, how can she get out of this marriage? and live happy ever after? Only she can do this!

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Addictive, fast paced, dramatic, and hard to put down! The Honeymoon was instantly gripping and sucked me in immediately. Can you imagine finding your spouse cheating on you on your wedding day???????? Talk about a heartbreaking shocker! What's a girl to do but go on her honeymoon alone to lick her wounds and try to figure out what to do next!
Kelly goes to Crete alone after Ryan passionately kissing another woman on their wedding day. The calls and the texts begin to come in from Ryan. Kelly hoped this would be a peaceful trip to figure out what to do next, but it turned into a drama filled nightmare. The shocks, twists, and 'holy crap' moments kept coming in and I was all there for it! I loved every second of it. But like all things, the honeymoon must come to an end. Then there is a shift in the book. I felt as if I had whiplash! Just when I thought I had seen all there was to see, more came in and things got really OTT after that. This is where the author lost a few happy readers, I believe. I sat there shocked as well. The beginning of the book was a five-star read for me. I loved every single page of it. But when things took a turn, I had to find my footing once again. I imagine this is how the character of Kelly felt as well from the day she got married.
This book put Kelly (and this reader) through the ringer in this twist and shock filled book. I thought I knew exactly where this book was going and then *Bam* it took off in another direction. This book may have readers wondering just how well they know those in their lives.
Gemma Rogers piled on the drama, tension, emotions, and catty comments like the pro she is. This book had my jaw hanging open, my blood boiling, and my expectations all over the place. This book was like being on a roller coaster ride. It was thrilling, had me feeling anxious, then left me with the air sucked out of me.
I enjoyed the first part of the book more than the last half but must give Gemma Rogers props for writing a book that I could not put down. I read this in one day as I was glued to the pages.
Addictive, shocking, maddening, and tense!

Hooked from page one this had so many twists and turns! There was absolutely no way of knowing how this was going to turn out. On her wedding day Kelly comes across new husband Ryan in a compromising position with Liza who is the wife of his best friend. She decides to go on the honeymoon on her own but as events unfold it turns out that Ryan has a lot of secrets and they keep on coming. Kelly doesn’t know who to trust and is torn between This is pacy and a real page turner. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

I wouldn't necessarily call this story a psychological thriller however it is a solid tale which makes you want to turn the pages. Personally I would have taken his passport but then we wouldn't have a story!! Plenty of twists and lies to keep the reader guessing what is actually going on. A good read.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC to review.

Overall I found this title very boring. I thought the book has promise based on the description it just didn't really go anywhere in my opinion.

Whoa! After finally marrying the love of her life after 10 years together, Kelly Carbon is quickly discovering that her time with her new husband, Ryan, has been full of secrets and lies. And it all starts on her wedding day when she finds Ryan cheating with her good friend and his best friend’s wife. Overcome with emotion, Kelly flees the wedding reception without telling anyone in hopes of escaping the shock of what she’s just seen. She leaves for her honeymoon by herself, but the crazy revelations keep coming. Can she trust any of her closest friends? How about the new acquaintances she’s made on her trip? Is she paranoid and overthinking things? This book is a page turner and full of surprises; another great read by Gemma Rogers. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the digital ARC.

Domestic tale with a suspenseful edge. Kelly is celebrating her wedding to her partner of 10 years Ryan. She goes outside for a breath of air and finds Ryan kissing Liza, the wife of his best friend and business partner. Instead of confronting the couple, Kelly sneaks out of her wedding and eads to their honeymoon destination, Crete. Then there is a large part of the book about Kelly's experiences on Crete including people she meets, lying in the sun, what she had for dinner etc. One of the people she meets is a handsome bartender. The in a few days later Ryan arrives at the resort with his business partner and his wife in tow. At this point there is a lot of arguing back and forth as Kelly finds out more than knew about her partner and the various lies he has told her. Kelly also begins a relationship with the bartender which adds a romantic element to the book.
The writing was good but the story veered between a domestic tale about the breakdown of a marriage, a new romance story and a mystery plot where someone may or may not be trying to kill Kelly. When the couple return home, it turns into more of a thriller as Kelly has to decide what to do about her husband who is not the person she thought he was but who she still loves. i wanted more suspense and for Kelly to wise up much sooner regarding Ryan and his lying. I did think it was unbelievable that Ryan was a perfect partner for 10 years when he was in reality into some very shady things. Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this ARC in exchange for a review.

I had seen several of this author's books, but until now, I had never read one. I found the simplistic writing style similar to Freida McFadden and Valerie Keough.
Seeing your husband cheat on you just minutes after saying your marriage vows has got to be heartbreaking. Going on your honeymoon alone would be depressing, but who Kelly ends up seeing on her honeymoon was definitely a shock!
The first 19 chapters felt repetitive and monotonous, so when a breadcrumb was finally dropped at the end of chapter 19, I had hope that things would pick up.
The conclusion was fairly predictable but all in all, I did find reading the book enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.

My thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Honeymoon’ written by Gemma Rogers in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Kelly and Ryan have only been married for seven hours when she sees him in a passionate clinch with Liza, a woman she thought was a close friend. Kelly hides his passport and flies off to the luxury hotel in Crete on her own to begin what should have been their honeymoon. Then her world is further shattered when Ryan turns up at the hotel bringing with him Liza and her husband Bobby, Ryan’s business partner.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed ‘The Honeymoon’ with its cleverly-written storyline and twisty plot incorporating plenty of suspense and drama. I liked the character of Kelly although I was puzzled how she could have put up with Ryan’s inconsiderate attitude for as long as she did. When their honeymoon was over I thought that was the end of the story but that wasn’t to be the case as the more that happened the more exciting it became until I was tense with anticipation as to how it could all end. Thank you, Gemma, for writing such an entertaining novel that was so gripping I couldn’t put it down and read it in a day.

Right away this book had me gripped, there was so much suspense and tension from the get go that I knew I needed to find out the truth. Overall it was full of drama, danger and deceit and it proved to be a very twisty read,

4 stars
This was so good. Really fast paced. Definitely a “popcorn thriller” it’s a quick read too.
If you are looking for a quick thriller to get out of a slump this would be great for that. There were a few unexpected twists but nothing too crazy. I like that as everything was unraveling it was fully explained what was going on in the bigger picture.
I enjoyed the way the author wrote it I would read something by her again.

100% yes! This one I binged completely! Love the twists and turns and the complexities involved in this novel. Drama builds and just when you know what’s coming, the plot twists to keep you on your toes. Don’t miss this one!

Thank you Boldwood Books and Gemma Rogers for the ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was not at all what I was expecting and had my jaw on the floor multiple times. This is the first time I've read a book by Gemma Rogers and it certainly won't be the last! The storyline was fluid and there weren't any gaps to make you wonder what you were reading. I haven't read anything like this before!

I feel like I been hoodwinked and bamboozled. I went into this book thinking it was a thriller but low and behold it was just women's fiction. Yeah, some shady stuff was going on, but it definitely shouldn't have been listed as a thriller. It started off good because I was invested from jump, but it took a turn at about 65% to try to fit that "thriller" genre I guess and just fell flat. It was a crazy twist that had me shocked for sure, but it was still just okay for me. I wanted to love it so much.

3.5 stars. Thank you for this early read! Great setting and definitely some twists in this one that had me guessing until the end. This was my first time reading anything by this author and I'll definitely look for her again. Thanks Netgalley!

When I started reading this book I thought ‘Wow, this is fabulous’, and I loved it right up until about 70% when Kelly arrived back in England. After that the plot became ‘too much’ and it felt like it was two books combined into one. That was disappointing, but I enjoyed the first part and it was well written. I would recommend it for a decent read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the arc.

Nice quick read. It was interesting, pretty predictable, but entertaining. A nice distraction and good read.
Thanks for letting me read.
