I hadn't realized this was the final book in a series that I haven't read any, but the description sounded appealing. Even though it isn't my usual genre, I did enjoy it. It was a cosy read, set in a lovely setting with pleasant characters, and it was exactly as I expected it to be.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my ARC.

My Thoughts: I’ll be honest this is the first book that I’ve read in this series and I’ve just found out that this is also the last 🤣

That being said although I didn’t get the back story of the characters, I didn’t feel lost at any point, Jill has done a good job of summarising past events within the writing.

We’re following Pia and Jackson whilst they prepare for their wedding & I got the feeling that it was a long road to get there.

The descriptions in this book were beautiful and very detailed which left me as the reader able to picture the surroundings easily feel almost thrown into it.

Not only is this book filled with love, but we see some familiar connections being remade as everyone gets ready for Christmas and ready for a fresh start.

It gives a really sense of community and how they all pull together when it matters.

I’d love to go back and start the series from the beginning at some point as I feel I’d be able to appreciate everything that happened so much more.

In the latest Primrose Woods novel, readers return to Primrose Hall where Pia and Jackson are planning the yearly Carols by Candlelight event after a year of health scares, surprise siblings, engagements, wedding planning, and other disasters. With Jackson and Pia planning their wedding and hoping that the drama of the last year is at an end, readers join them for Christmas and a wedding and a happy ending for the community of Primrose Hall. With a fantastic romance, a happy ending, and holiday cheer in store for readers, the newest instalment is a cheery, charming, and heartwarming read perfect for the winter months and the holiday season. Pia, Jackson, Rex, Tom, and the rest of the family continue to draw readers into the story and life at Primrose Hall, and Jill Steeples has continued to extend their character development and their stories in this new release. Brilliantly written with a complex and beautiful winter setting, the novel’s atmosphere and setting are absolutely perfect and create a fantastic backdrop for Carols by Candlelight and Jackson and Pia’s wedding. Jill Steeples’s new book is a fantastic, immersive, and enjoyable holiday release that fans of the Primrose Woods series will love and struggle to put down.

This was a DNF at 20%. I just couldn't get into the story. The synopsis if it sounded good but just wasn't for me.

Lovely holiday book. Jill Stepped has a wonderful talent for creating interesting and relatable characters and is beautifully creative in describing the settings of her stories. This book was no exception. Thanks #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks

The final book of the series, this was a good read and I enjoyed seeing Pia and Jackson finally tie the knot amongst close friends and family. I enjoyed how Steeples brought back characters from previous books, especially earlier ones in the series, creating a fitting conclusion to Primrose Woods.

Whilst the previous book caused me to dislike Jackson, he seems to have redeemed himself in this book, showing a more caring and loving attitude. He and Pia are naturally very excited about their forthcoming nuptials and I liked how Steeples guides readers through the festive season at the Hall. Furthermore, it would seem that love is in the air as other relationships take their commitment to the next level, making this even more heart-warming.

However, I think it is the trio of alpacas that stole the show for me. I thought Harry’s story to be touching and the arrival of the alpacas was just what Primrose Hall was missing! Should there have been a further book in the pipeline, I honestly think Steeples should have made the alpacas the stars of the story – perhaps an idea for later novels?!

This was an easy to read story and you can’t help but get caught up in the wedding bells and festive season – a perfect combination! I think my only criticism of the book was Pia during her hen night. I thought Steeples wrote the scene deliberately ambiguously, causing me to seriously fall out of love with Pia. I consequently held a grudge against the poor character until the very end; it would have been better if Steeples had not implied a disaster on Pia’s part, even if it did seem out of character for her.

A enjoyable series, some books better than others, it definitely did finish on a high point. I loved how all the characters came together to celebrate Pia and Jackson’s wedding; it felt like they were all celebrating the end of the series at the same time! The characters are all endearing in this book with no pantomime villains, and I was pleased to see that Jackson is presented as a more likeable human this time around.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Pia and Jackson have worked hard to get here… and the wedding is just days away!! So much is happening! Unexpected things always have to happen and alas they do. So many things are happening and nothing ever stops at Primrose Hall. Pia and Jackson are amazing. There is an amazing scene in here that I absolutely adore!!! Such a wonderful book!

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I was able to find the audio version through my local library. It is a very cute, heartwarming Christmas novel. I really love reading books from this author. Her novels are not over the top, dramatic, and lighthearted. I always love all the characters she writes in her books. Perfect read for the Christmas season!

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. Having read and reviewed the previous title in the series I was keen to find out what would happen next at Primrose Hall! And I was not disappointed! I couldn’t put it down. I read it from beginning to end in one weekend. I highly recommend this book. I’m sad that this is the final book in the series but looking forward to going back and re-reading the series again. Hope we will meet up with the residents of Primrose Hall and the surrounding area in Jill’s future books!

Loving this series and this one was as good as the others. The feel good factor in these stories are so good and I love the interaction between the characters. Looking forward to more in this series. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read A Winter Wedding at Primrose Hall by Jill Steeples. I loved this book so much. I did not realize it was part of a series, but it didn't matter. It was thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone. I will, however, now find the earlier books and read them as well. Love the characters, adore Primrose Hall. A comfort read that I sincerely needed.

Jill never fails to provide us with a heart warming, cosy read, and A Winter Wedding at Primrose Hall certainly lived up to that!

I adored the entire story, from the romantic setting, to the delightful characters.... add to that mix the festive season and you have an incredible read.

You need this book in your life, curled up with a blanket.... perfect.

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the digital copy of this book; I am leaving this review voluntarily. Somehow, when I requested this book, I did not see that this book is part of a series. In fact, it’s the sixth and final book. Had I known that I would have read the prior volumes before tackling this one. While it read fine as a standalone novel, I did definitely feel like there was a lot of backstory that’s inferred or left out.

That’s not to say that this is a bad book at all, though! It’s a sweet, cozy book about a couple who are going to get married, as well as several other subplots. There was no major drama or great suspense, it was just a nice, sweet book set in what appears to be a lovely town. And quite frankly, a book without a huge emotional roller coaster was perfect for my current mood.

I enjoyed this book well enough to go back and get the rest of the series to read over the next few months.

This was a fab story I managed to read in a day. I loved the characters and the real christmassy feel to it. And with a wedding just around the corner what could go wrong. And the added 3 alapacs are an added bonus if you love this series this is a fantastic addition. If you haven't read any yet why not lol.

A Winter Wedding at Primrose Hall is the sixth book of the Primrose Woods series but the first I’ve read, much to my embarrassment. How have I been sleeping on these books?! I have to mention that I do think you need to read the others and in order – while Steeples does an excellent job to introducing readers to her characters, I did have a sense of being late to the party. That’s on me, though, and it doesn’t reflect in my rating. I will have to go back and read the rest. Poor me, lol.

I’ll begin with the setting. Primrose Woods sounds lush and I want to move there immediately. The Hall is full of people and animals, particularly alpacas. Not sure what the sudden surge of alpacas in romance books is about, but I don’t overly mind. They are cute (though I prefer goats).

The characters. Oh gosh, they are so well-drawn and individual! I loved everyone, though I wanted to throttle dad Rex on occasion. I adored Jackson, though, and Pia was a sweetheart. Even though they’re engaged at this point, there’s enough drama to be worried about their nuptials. I’m just glad it went off without too much of a hitch. (I don’t think I’m spoiling anything here as this is a romance.)

Steeples’ prose is lovely. She weaves setting and characters with a deft hand and a touch of comedy that will make you smile. The sense of community in Primrose Woods comes through in every chapter. It’s not perfect – because nowhere is – but it does sound warm and friendly.

A simply gorgeous book in a gorgeous setting, and I’m off to buy the rest!

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'A Winter Wedding At Primrose Hall' by Jill Steeples.

This is the sixth (and sadly the final) book in Jill's gorgeous 'Primrose Woods' series but each book can be read as a standalone.

Yet another absolutely stunning read by the extremely talented Jill Steeples!!! A perfectly gorgeous book and a beautiful finale to this stunning series!!! The vivid descriptions left me hearing the laughter and feeling warmth in my heart. The title, synopsis and cover suited the storyline perfectly.

Well, you may have noticed I have started reading festive books regular and very early considering it is only October but it doesn't matter if you are the type who doesn't want to hear the word Christmas until the day or whether you have already started thinking about getting the decorations down because regardless of how you feel about Christmas you will enjoy this adorable story! I have absolutely loved each and every one of the amazing Jill's books that I have read so far and this one is no exception!!! How she does it time and time again I will never know but I am just over the moon that she does as every time I need a feel good book to turn a frown upside down Jill Steeples is my go to woman!! Although this is the sixth and sadly the final book in the series would have I had absolutely no problems reading it without and of the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader. I am not a huge fan of reading books in a series out of order but I have missed a few out in this series due to various reasons and when I seen this one was out I just had to skip straight to it!!! there is a positive about reading a series out of order though and especially when the one you are reading is the final book and that is that once you have come to the end you can then go back and read the ones you have yet to read which means you have a bit longer with the characters before you have to say your final goodbyes and it hopefully brings you closer to when the author then brings their next series out ... hint, hint Jill ;) lol!! I have read several books in this series but have missed a couple so I am looking forward to going back to reading those as each and every one has been absolutely stunning and the amazing and beautiful Primrose Hall really has come to feel like a holiday home for me that I have loved returning to time and time again and all the characters feel like friends that I love greeting each time and am sad to say Goodbye to at the end of each book. In this stunning addition and finale to this beautiful series we return to Primrose Hall for the final time where Pia and Jackson are as busy as always arranging their annual Carols by Candlelight evening but on top of that they also have their wedding to plan for!! They have had an extremely busy and stressful year with Jackson's Dad Rex's health issues, Jackson's long lost brother Tom reappearing along with other disasters so them and their families are looking forward to celebrating Christmas and Jackson and Pia's wedding together. Will the wedding go ahead with no disasters? How are all the other residents of Primrose Woods and Hall getting on after their year? Grab your copy of this absolute stunner today to discover for yourselves!!! I can promise that you will not regret it but you definitely want to clear your schedules, especially if you haven't read all or any of the other books in this series as you will be hooked!!! With a gorgeous storyline ram packed with love, community, friendship, animals, wedding planning, festivities, joy, surprises and everything you could ask for and much, more more what on Earth are you waiting for?? This book and this series is one of the most heart-warming and beautiful ones I've read in a long time. It made me laugh, cry, smile and fall in love with Primrose Hall. I cannot wait to return in previous books that I have not read in this series. I absolutely love the gorgeous atmosphere and surroundings, it felt like a gorgeous escape, even with some of the stress going!! Jill's stunning evocative writing talents ensures the reader is flown away on holiday and will leave you tingling with warmth, smiling with happiness and light hearted!! It is one of those stunning books that it is impossible to say just one more chapter to. I gave up even trying to lie to myself saying just one more in the end as every time I came to the end of one chapter I just HAD to know what was going to happen next and this ended up happening so many times I ended up devouring the whole book in a several hour sitting!! I just could not put my kindle down and I was absolutely gutted when I came to the end of the book and this series although it has been beautiful meeting everyone again and the stories wrapping up! It genuinely felt like I had escaped rainy Wales for a few hours and was enjoying all the amazing events at Primrose Hall, the wedding being my favourite, of course!!! The storyline was sweet, romantic, uplifting and everything you want in a heart warming romance and I completely fell head over heels in love!!! This book is an uplifting breathe of fresh air!!! It ended absolutely perfectly!!!

Clear your schedules and have your tissues at the ready before picking up this stunning page turner as you won't be able to put it down and will get lost on this gorgeous rollercoaster ride of emotions!!!

The characters are all strong, well defined and realistic. I fell in love with the majority of them, even if some took longer than others!! They have all come to feel like friends rather than fictional characters thanks to all the love and care that Jill has put into them, showing that she has clearly cared for her characters throughout. Along with Pia, Jackson and the menagerie of animals I have met so many along the way and seen the struggles and drama they have gone through previously and it was beautiful the way Jill has wrapped everything up in this stunner. Some of the amazing characters and stories have included Luke and Rhi and a blissful ending, Tom considering a change of direction which his partner Sophie is dismayed about, Ronnie's dismay after her ex husband Rex's health has improved but after she thought they were getting closer his behaviour has gone back to his previous ways, Jackson and Tom getting to know each other, getting to know more about Lizzie and Abbie and so much more!!! I was genuinely in tears coming to the end of this book and series but am actually pleased that I hadn't got around to reading a couple of books in this series as that is exactly what i am going to go and do now knowing I have that little bit more time with them!!! I have loved meeting the characters at Primrose Woods and Hall and I am looking forward to seeing what the fabulous Jill will come out with next!!! I am a HUGE animal lover and run Golden Oldies Cat Rescue And Hospice (you can find the gang on social media if you would like to meet them) so any animals in books have always been a huge bonus for me and I have loved meeting them all at Primrose Hall so I am hoping whatever Jill comes up with next includes plenty of animals. I have plenty of names if she needs any especially after over 300 cats passing through my home when I have been fostering/rescuing!!!! I could go on and on but I best stop there as I don't want to give anything away and potentially spoil it for future readers! I would absolutely love to see this stunning series on the TV one day soon!!!

Get wrapped up warm, put the fire on, make your self a hot chocolate or get your towel and book ready and relax on the beach and clear your schedule ready to get lost in this unputdownable heart warming, gorgeous romantic finale to this stunning series!

Well done Jill on an absolutely gorgeous book and beautiful ending to this stunning series. This is exactly why you are on my favourite authors list!!! I am thoroughly looking forward to reading more of your books past and future including the ones I have yet to read in this epic series. Congratulations on a stunning success and here's to more 🥂!!

Overall an absolutely stunning page turning escapism that will make you smile, laugh and keep you up all night absorbing the pages.

I feel like I’ve been waiting for ages for this book, I really enjoy the Primrose series and have been waiting for Pia and Jackson their big day and it was everything I wanted and more. Jill Steeples is a wonderful and always manages to suck me in to every series I’ve rather of hers. Although most these books can be read as standalone, I’m not sure I would recommend it for this book in the series, I just feel like you might be a bit lost but then I’ve read books at the end of the series and enjoyed them and it’s made me go back and buy them all so who am I to judge?

A Winter Wedding at Primrose Hall was a delight to read so much happiness, joy and just pure pleasure, I don’t think I could describe how much I love this. It’s such a feel good book, full of love , life, new beginnings and of course a wedding ! I love these characters and I’m so happy I got the story I wanted, what happens? Well no spoilers so you’re gonna have to read yourself.

If you’re looking for a breather, hideaway some happiness, than A Winter Wedding at Primrose Hall is your perfect escape, why not honour the couple with your presence, you won’t regret it.

Such a lovely final book in this series.

The past year has been quite hard at primrose hall - Rex’s heart attack scare, Jackson’s accident and Tom, Jackson’s long lost brother turning up.
They’re all looking forward to Christmas and the final event of the year - Jackson & Pias wedding. After such a long eventful year the whole community can’t wait to celebrate with them. Will everything go to plan at last?

I loved this series and am quite sad that it has come to an end but it’s been brilliant.

This was such a warm and cozy read that I sat and finished in one day. Right from the start, Jill sets the cozy mode on high with her description of the wreath on the door and it sounds so festive and it just goes up from there. The sights and smells of the holidays are evoked and it’s just lovely.
This is a series and while they probably can be read as stand alone books, I have read them all, and I think it really helps because so many of the characters continue on throughout the series and you get so much of their backstory interwoven throughout each of the books.
This one finally brings us Pia and Jackson’s wedding and all the events leading uo to it as well as life around the hall with all the other characters before the wedding. Tom is getting ready to start a new job but Jackson is trying to get him to join the family business full time instead. There’s lots going on, but it all ultimately leads up to a happy ending for Pia and Jackson and a lovely conclusion to the series.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.
