Two broken Girls is book 13 in the Detective Morgan Brookes series, and it is another fast-paced thrilling read from the author. I just love this series. The author never disappoints.
When the body of student Melody Carrick is found dead on the riverbank. Morgan and Ben are on the case to find the killer. Morgan is distraught and she knows Melody from the café she visits, where her mother Jade is the owner.
When the detail of the murder is out. Local girl Paige Evans visit to Police as she thinks Alan her mother’s boyfriend maybe the kidnapped her best friend as he is a weirdo who watches a lot of True crime documentaries about murders, and he has a box with lots of parts of jewellery in it. Like trophies a would-be killer take from his victims. Morgan and team are stretched to the limit trying to deal with both cases.
The is another thrilling read from the author that I basically read in one sitting. I love the antics of Morgan who always seems to get herself in all sorts of trouble but still manages to find the perpetrator. I also like to see how the other members of the team are doing. They are all such likable characters. This is a great read and even though it is book 13 in the series. You can easily read it as a standalone. 5 stars from me.

Two Broken Girls is the 13th book in the Morgan Brooks series by Helen Phifer. I did not realize this was so deep into a series when I started reading. It was ok as a standalone but I think it would be better having read the earlier ones. They were vaguely referenced and some characters were not introduced because it’s expected that the reader already knows who they are.
A college girl, Melody, gets into a car one morning and is later found dead by the river. Meanwhile, Paige, another college girl, goes to the police to tell them about her mother’s ex-boyfriend who is super creepy, and she thinks he’s abducted her friend Alisa.
Brooks and her team work overtime to find the killer before he kills again.
Thanks to the publisher, the author, and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. 4 stars- a quick and engaging read.

Firstly I would like to thank netgalley and Bookoutune and the fantastic author Helen phifer for an early copy of her book.

I am big fan of this series, and another addictive read from this series. a young girl is found who has been murdered her name was Melody and as much as it is a shock to Morgan and her team but it's her mum's cafe, they use every day. Paige Evans goes to the police station to see morgan she thinks her friend is missing and blames her mum's ex-boyfriend. as morgan and her team delve in to the case things start to go in the wrong direction can they get the killer before they strike again so good

Three cheers for the author because they have done it again… I opened this book and I was lost straight away… brilliant story… fast-paced… I just love this author… 5 stars, of course.

This is one of my favorite series and I'm looking forward to number 14. This was a fast pace read with plenty of jaw dropping suspense and a terrific ending. I really enjoy how the author has developed these characters through each book, so that they are well rounded with plenty of growth which makes for a great read. Phifer has a way of how she unravels her mystery that always surprises you with her endings. I highly recommend this book and series. Detective Morgan Brookes is called in for the murder of Melody Carrick, a young college student. Morgan is heartbroken because she knows Melody’s mother from the cafe she owns. Another student from the college, Paige reports to Morgan that she believes that her mother’s boyfriend, Alan is the killer and that he kidnapped her best friend because she is missing. Will Morgan find out who killed Melody, was it Alan and did he kidnap Paige’s best friend. Read this book and find out what happens. Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture for providing me with an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited to read the latest instalment of this series, and it didn't disappoint. Great plot as usual, characters interesting and believable. Great book. Can't wait for the next.

Detective Morgan Brookes book Thirteen.
Twisty heart-stopping crime thriller.
When melody Rydal is found dead through strangulation in Rydal Falls, the team are on the hunt for her killer, that goes on to an abduction and a missing girl, this book is so full of twists massive ones from all the characters included in this mind-blowing read.
I loved it , it's so unputdownable with a fantastic ending.
This author just keeps giving you her best in all her work.
A fantastic thriller once again from one of my favourite novel writer.

Two Broken Girls (Detective Morgan Brookes Book 13) by Helen Phifer is so good!
On the banks of the River Rothay, as the first rays of sunshine hit the fast-flowing water, Melody Carrick’s body lies lifeless, red strangulation marks where her gold cross necklace used to hang. Detective Morgan Brookes is certain the killer was surprised by early-morning dog walkers, and she won’t rest until she unearths the evidence she needs to stop his next attack.
But before Morgan has a chance to attend the post-mortem, seventeen-year-old Paige Evans rushes into the police station, claiming her stepfather Alan kidnapped her best friend. He has an old wooden box full of jewelry that she believes are trophies. Morgan’s blood runs cold: Melody’s necklace is tangled up in the chains.
Two Broken Birls is a twisty mystery and such a good crime thriller. I really enjoy Morgan Brookes and her team. I like how the author slowly unravels the suspense and mystery and throws in some red herrings that had my head swiveling because I couldn't keep up with who was involved and what would happen.
I love this series and am looking forward to more. A great addition to the series.

Morgan and Ben are back to work when a young girl’s body is discovered. A teenage girl turns up to say her mum’s boyfriend could have kidnapped her best friend but it would seem this killer isn’t quite done!
Reading these books is such a comfort to me. The characters are so established and the humour and affection between them is perfect. Yet again another cracker from Helen. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was another one sitting read for me. Admittedly I was stuck in a garage waiting room at the time, but I would probably have read it all anyway. In this book Morgan attended a murder scene, which resulted in her running around chasing leads, some false, some real. As always there were some lightheaded moments. The twists kept me guessing who I thought the murderer was! In my opinion, another great book in this series and I can't wait to see what Morgan gets involved in next time

Awesome detective series with complex plot and a team that are like family, with quirks, emotions, and all. I definitely want a Cain of my own! Series stays strong and fast paced, highly recommended.

Helen Phifer has done it again! I'm obsessed with this series and can't wait for the next book already. The things I love about the Morgan Brookes series is the short and fast paced chapters, they build so much suspense and I literally can't stop reading. The 1st chapter in this book is the POV of the killer which I love! The whole teams banter and love for each other is so sweet and typical Morgan always getting herself in trouble honestly makes me laugh a bit now because that girl... she needs some restraint!! I truly loved this book - thank you Helen and Bookouture for a copy.

Helen Phifer has done it again. Two Broken Girls kept me reading because I didn’t have a clue who the killer could be. If you want a really good thriller then you should start reading this series. Morgan is a brave and intelligent detective. Nothing stops her from pursuing the killer. I can’t recommend this series enough.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Another brilliant Morgan Brookes adventure from Helen Phifer. I love these stories. They are all so original and this one is certainly no exception. I was kept guessing right until the end as to the identity of the killer and I read a lot of crime fiction! The characters have become like friends their personalities are so well written. However long it might be since the last book, opening a new book is like visiting old friends. I can't wait for book 14.to hit my kindle. Recommended wholeheartedly if you want a really good read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

Another great Morgan Brookes book! They are getting better and better, and I've read all of them! Also please don't let Morgan alone EVER again - she is indeed a chaos magnet!
This time I was really clueless on who the killer was - there were so many shifty guys in this book - Bravo!
As always I really enjoyed the relationship between them all and finally Marc is getting kinda "normal".
Thank you Netgalley <3

A great read. I couldn't put it down. The story was excellent. So many twists and turns. I couldn't put the book down and I'm already looking forward to the next adventure

Brookes believes she may finally have a lead on the vicious killer terrorizing her patch when a young girl gives evidence that indicate her father is the killer. But on her way to apprehend him, a young woman comes running out of the woods, saying she’s escaped from a killer. And it’s not the man Brookes was about to arrest. Phifer’s fans will enjoy the newest addition to the series

Enjoying the Morgan Brookes series. Great characters and plot line. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing Good writing style... Look forward very much to the next great instalment. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Another wonderful read in this great series.
Fast paced action which kept me guessing until the end.
What i love is the humour thrown in here and there which lightens what is often horrific.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Easy five star read.
