Gripping and full of twists, this small-town thriller kept me on the edge of my seat. Shelby Dawson thought she had survived the worst, but when a threatening note appears more than a year after her attack, she realizes her nightmare isn’t over. As suspicious accidents mount and secrets come to light—including the mysterious disappearance of her friend’s husband—the tension ratchets up relentlessly.
I loved how the story blends suspense with a sense of real community. The quirky, well-meaning townspeople who accidentally make her case go viral add both humor and chaos, and the layered mysteries around Shelby’s attacker and Leo’s disappearance keep you guessing until the very end.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers with a small-town setting, complex characters, and high-stakes suspense, this one is impossible to put down.
Thanks to NetGalley and Graydon House for the digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

Nothing Ever Happens Here is a sharply written small-town thriller where Shelby’s past comes back to haunt her just as she thinks she’s safe. Between an ominous note, a missing husband, and a truth-digging podcast by unlikely amateur detectives, the tension snowballs fast.
While the middle slows a bit and some threads stretch credibility, the blend of fear, community betrayal, and emotional stakes make this a compelling ride for fans of domestic suspense and creepy atmospheric mysteries.
⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ (3.5-4/5)

Someone attacks Shelby, leaving her for dead. Mackenzie’s husband is missing- Shelby thought that might have been him but no one knows where he is. Using a group of followers online that love to solve mysteries, these seniors become detectives with a great twist to solving the crime. Small town, freezing weather, and lots of drama.

3 Stars here. This book was more of a cozy mystery than a thriller, which was unexpected for me with this author, but it was cute!
Thank you so much Harlequin Trade Publishing | Graydon House, Seraphina Nova Glass, and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and honestly review this book.

Shelby is attacked and left for dead at her friend, Mack’s, coffee shop the same night as Mack’s husband goes missing. The trail of this assault runs dry until Shelby finds a note left on her car and is thrown back into that day. Along for the ride are a band of seniors that become armchair detectives and even end up starting a podcast about the local crime that goes viral.
In all, this was a fun book! It picked up right from the first chapter and largely kept me interested. I did get really irritated with all of the amateur sleuthing that was going on, especially when the local police seemed to be nothing but useless. The ending had me scratching my head a bit but regardless the entire book had me guessing along. I also thought the setting was a great touch that added a bit of higher stakes and intensity to the whole story.

I am so sad this one fell flat for me!! I have loved every single book I have read by Glass!! There were too many characters, and because of that I lost interest fairly quickly.

Having grown up in a small town, I've said "Nothing ever happens here" plenty of times. However, that's what it happens. That something. I think that is what drew me to this book in the first place - the feeling of understanding. The feeling of having let your guard down. That's the thing about small towns though - everyone has secrets. It takes a situation like this to get everyone talking... I loved the vibe of this book.

This was my first read by SNG. It was gripping, fast‑paced thriller with genuine emotional stakes, vivid small‑town flavor, and a delightful, relatable ensemble led by Florence and her podcasting pals. I thought it was slightly crowded with characters at first, a few cliché plots points, and an ending that some may find a bit loose. If you enjoy character‑driven suspense with a dash of humor and the dynamic of ordinary folks rising to extraordinary challenges, this one’s a solid pick.

I was really intrigued by the first chapter and the mystery of the “who done it” did ultimately keep me turning the pages but it was very hard for me to stay focused. There are multiple POV’s and a lot of characters involved without there really being one main character. For me, it made it hard to follow and hard to get invested.
There is humor and there’s definitely a good idea behind this book but some things just felt off and again there’s so much back and forth that I never felt connected. The rest of my comments are going to get more in depth so don’t read if you don’t like spoilers.
One of the main characters Shelby, was attacked and almost murdered. Something happens to her family. Her husband goes to take one of their daughters to her moms while Shelby stays with the other daughter in the hospital. Husband ends up staying away for the night. Shelby goes home. She goes home and feels something’s off, notices the alarm is disabled, but continues away and gets attacked? Like this woman was almost killed, she got a threatening note and her kid got hurt but her husband’s fine just leaving her alone and she’s okay galavanting around? I don’t know that was just very bizarre to me along with a few other things.
People looking for murder mystery vibes with multiple POV’s and funny elderly side characters might like this.
Thank you NetGalley, author and publisher for this arc.

Another popcorn thriller by the incredible Seraphina! I have read and loved all of her books and was excited to read this one. She always delivers on suspense and her books are quick reads and entertaing.

The Moonlight Healers is a beautifully tender and empowering story that blends magical realism with emotional truth in a way that feels both comforting and cathartic. I loved the cast of kind, quirky characters and how healing—both physical and emotional—is at the heart of the story. Becker’s writing is quietly powerful, and the book’s gentle pacing gives room to breathe, reflect, and heal alongside the characters. I especially appreciated how it celebrates chosen family, personal growth, and the quiet magic of everyday compassion.

Due to medical reasons, I was unable to fully read this book but I throughly enjoyed what I did read, however I cannot write a proper review due to this. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

A sharp, twisty thriller full of secrets and surprises. Nothing Ever Happens Here is a fun mytery thriller with a few good twists

Nothing Ever Happens Here is a sharp, character-driven thriller that proves the most dangerous secrets often hide behind the quietest facades. Seraphina Nova Glass does a great job building slow, creeping tension in a town where everyone seems a little too perfect. The main character’s voice is strong—flawed, observant, and easy to root for—and as things start to unravel, the suspense ramps up in a way that feels both believable and deeply unsettling. If you enjoy domestic thrillers with messy relationships, buried truths, and that constant sense of “something’s not right,” this one delivers.

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Seraphina Nova Glass for the ARC via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Nothing Ever Happens Here blends domestic suspense, a missing person case, and a charming group of podcasting retirees into a twisty thriller that had me hooked from the first page.
The story unfolds through three POVs: Shelby, a woman recovering from a violent attack who begins receiving creepy threats again; Mackenzie, Shelby’s best friend, whose husband disappeared the night of that same attack; and Florence, a retirement home resident who recruits her friends to investigate through their amateur podcast. Yes, there’s a senior citizen true-crime podcast crew—and yes, they’re absolutely delightful.
Seraphina Nova Glass does a great job balancing tension and warmth. The snowy Minnesota setting adds an extra layer of isolation and chill. While the plot leans into some classic thriller tropes (mysterious notes, shady neighbors), the characters—especially Florence—kept me invested. I will say, the multiple points of view and large cast of characters did get a little confusing at times, especially early on, but it comes together as the story progresses.

A suspenseful psychological thriller, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Loved this intense mystery of a traumatic attack, a “killer” on the loose and the hilarious groups of “seniors “ who ultimately bring this killer to the forefront. A twisty plot with well written anticipation, I couldn’t put it down. An entertaining read!
This book is about the main character Shelby, who suffers a traumatic attack (left for dead), all the while her best friend Mackenzie’s husband goes missing the same night. 15 months later, Shelby finds a note on her windshield basically letting her know the attacker is still out there. In a small Minnesota town, and a lacking police force, this intense thriller unfolds and a group of seniors from “Shelby’s senior “home”, which happens to be her personal business take it upon themselves to help Shelby find this killer all in between accidents happening and people missing and or dead. With the help of one of their “podcasts”, things go viral and the mystery explodes in the small community bringing the case back open and at the hilt of everyone’s interest.
It’s frightening, thrilling and uncertain! I wasn’t so sure at first but the “seniors” grew on me. It reminded me of the Assisted Living place my mom was at and how all the characters could very well fit this mold.
I highly recommend this fascinating and riveting read! Thank you to @harlequin @graydonhouse for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was my first book by author Seraphina Nova Glass and I REALLY enjoyed it! This story has some serious dark undertones. However, she kept the pacing quick and honestly, the book is also truly funny. For the full synopsis check out the second slide!
I would read an entire series about the senior citizens trying to solve the mystery of what is happening in their snowy “boring” town. Everything to do with their podcast and their interactions in general were much needed levity. The three leading ladies (Shelby, Mack and Florence) were all equally riveting. There are multiple twists throughout the story. Some I saw coming, and others shocked me. 4⭐️
For readers who love an atmospheric, bingeable thriller, I highly recommend Nothing Ever Happens Here!

I ended up having to dnf this book due to a few triggering topics. With that being said, I still think that people will enjoy this book. It has a lot of characters to keep up with but they all are interesting to read about.

I really wanted to love this book, but I feel like it was convoluted and confusing. The setting was awesome, but the abundance of characters made it hard to follow. Not my favorite.

You know that feeling when something just feels off—like the quiet is too quiet and everyone’s pretending a little too hard? That’s exactly the vibe in this twisty, snow-drenched thriller. And I ate up every minute of it.
In Nothing Ever Happens Here by Seraphina Nova Glass, readers meet Shelby Dawson, a woman trying to move on fifteen months after surviving a violent attack.
When a creepy anonymous note shows up, it’s clear her past isn’t done with her. With the help of her best friend Mackenzie—and a delightfully meddling group of seniors from the local retirement home—Shelby digs into the mystery that still haunts her. As more secrets surface and people start disappearing, the tension builds fast… and someone in this sleepy town is more dangerous than anyone realized.
Thank you NetGalley, Seraphina Nova Glass, and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this four star delectable story! This book, among several others from the author, are available to read free for Kindle Unlimited members!
