Christmas With The Knights - Hannah Langdon
Genre: Holiday Romance
A cold English winter, a sprawling house, the Lord and his son and grandson - could this be the perfect cure for Hannah Langdon’s Fallon in Christmas with the Knights? Fallon is exhausted; she has allowed her demanding event planning business to exhaust her. The doctor prescribes rest, away from work. While she’s not sure that spending Christmas with her ummm… difficult mother the soap opera star at her boyfriend’s country estate, she finds herself there. Along with Runcible - her goofy loving dog, Fallon begins to relax into Christmas and all the events that come along with it. Along with renewed peace…will she find love?
Is that even a fair question for a Christmas rom com? But Fallon is perhaps a bit more complex than other romantic heroines. She had a somewhat isolated childhood and while she has maintained a relationship with her distant mother, she fears that she doesn’t have the kind of example she needs to look forward to motherhood herself. So she remains wary of relationships. Instead (much like her mother, uh oh!) she buries herself in her work. Even on holiday she finds herself taking on small event jobs. Will she ever relax? And even if Alexander the Lord’s Son is gorgeous, and his son inexplicable drawn to her, should Fallon risk involvement. These are not easy questions. She receives lovely help and support from the people around her. New friends - who will be part of her family when her mom marries and old friends - Sam and Talitha from work. Her dog is her rock. And English countryside Christmas abounds…if ever magic was going to happen.
What a delightful read! I just really resonated with Fallon. (Like me, she could probably benefit from Kendra Adachi’s The PLAN - in terms of being more compassionate with herself!) I like that her changes came slowly - and believably. Christmas in England always seems extra lovely to me. She creates an inspirational setting filled with English treats and traditions that had me googling recipes. Take a minute from your busy holiday season and enjoy Hannah Langdon’s Christmas With The Knights.
A thoroughly enjoyable holiday read by Hannah Langdon! My favorite of her books so far.
*I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I have come to the conclusion that Hannah Langdon likes Christmas and cute dogs after now reading three of her books. They tend to be gentle romantic novels that are quick and easy to read books. There have been a lot of books written in the last year with a Christmas theme that I have had the pleasure of reading and they certainly get me longing for the build up to Christmas to start. Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this book.
It is a really enjoyable, feel-good Christmas story in a beautiful setting and with very likeable characters. I especially liked the description of how the dinamics changed between mother and daughter. I was glad to see that there was more than one happy ending to the story.
It felt cosy and warm to live through the eyes of Fallon in Yorkshire during the Christmas time. This is such a cute book for the holiday season, the characters are so supportive and kind. Her mom did wind me up more than once and I struggled a bit with her comments, but the change in their relationship was nice to see. I absolutely adored how good she was with Theo, they seemed to make a nice little dream team!
3.5 🌟
This book is really cute and really puts you in a Christmas vibes. It was nice and cozy but it was a bit too slow paced for me. I really like an intense romance kind of thing but overall a very nice book!
A big thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me this book in exchange for an honest review. A feel-good, festive story to savor on a cold night with a cup of hot chocolate. It was easy to relax and enjoy (and cheer on) every single character in this book. It was at the same time heart-warming, funny, and yet emotionally deep. I loved watching the character growth in Fallon and her mother. My only desire at the end was to see more romance between Fallon and Alexander. That’s not saying that there was any lack but I just didn’t want to stop reading about them. I recommend picking this up during this upcoming holiday season (or anytime you wish to feel the holiday cheer).
Professional event planner, Fallon Honeywood (daughter of famed soap star Jacqueline Honeywood) finds herself needing a break for R&R at the holiday season. Her mother nearly drags her along to meet her new boyfriend and stay at Blakeney Hall - all the way in the moors of Yorkshire. Filled with dread, she's not sure if she can tolerate it.
As she gets to know the Knight family, she realizes she's enjoying her time. She even volunteers to help Alexander launch his new business with small batch gin. It doesn't hurt that he's devastatingly handsome, and has an adorable but sensitive son, Theo. However, Theo's made a connection with her despite her lack of motherly instincts.
Thanks to NetGalley, Storm Publishing and Hannah Langdon for the eARC.
A cosy Christmas novel with old stately home grandeur and glamour combined with big characters, parties, and an ugly fabulous dog. The romance here was a little too slow-burning for my liking and I often felt exasperated with the main character putting obstacles in her own way at times. Overall though it is festive and fun and an enjoyable read
I struggled to get through this story. Not sure what exactly it was to make me lose interest but I did. I’m not a fan of the weird family dynamics with everything. The MFC wasn’t very interesting. She was a people pleaser, workaholic that wouldn’t admit she needed a break. So she was ehh to me. The mom was annoying and not very like able even when you saw glimpses of her actually being kind. The MMC he was just weird. He had pretty much insta-love for her and just didn’t have much of anything else even with his trauma filled back story. Unfortunately, this just didn’t land for me as I hoped.
Christmas with the Knights is a charming, festive romance with heartwarming moments and a touch of family drama, perfect for the holiday season. If you’re a fan of cozy, feel-good reads that balance romance with personal growth, this one is for you!
Fallon Honeywood, an overworked event planner from London, is reluctant to spend the holidays with her soap-opera diva mother at a Yorkshire manor. But this forced break offers her more than just time to decompress—it becomes a chance to confront her complicated relationship with her mother and her own fears about love, family, and motherhood. Fallon is hesitant to embrace her feelings for Alexander, a single father she meets at the manor, because she’s unsure if she’s cut out to be a mother or a mother-like figure.
The novel does a great job of weaving in deeper themes alongside the romance, like the strained mother-daughter dynamic and Fallon’s personal journey of self-discovery. I particularly appreciated Fallon’s growth throughout the book—her transformation from a burned-out career woman to someone who starts to see herself beyond the shadow of her mother's mistakes was touching. And the side characters, like Theo, Alexander's son, and the lovable rescue animals, added an extra layer of warmth to the story.
That said, the pacing felt a little rushed toward the end, and I would’ve loved more Christmas scenes to really embrace the holiday spirit. Some parts of the romance, particularly with Fallon and Alexander’s budding relationship, could’ve been fleshed out a bit more. Despite these minor issues, the story was still a delightful read.
Overall, Christmas with the Knights is a sweet, heartfelt story that will definitely put you in the Christmas mood, with themes of healing, family, and love at its core.
Thank you to NetGalley, Hannah Langdon, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Fallon has had a tough time lately. When she meets someone, he stirs many emotions that were dormant. An enjoyable holiday read.
It is ironic that one of the main supporting characters is a soap opera star because this story reads like a soap opera.? There is so much going on in Christmas with the Knights. The story is filled with an eclectic cast of characters that keeps the reader guessing about the future. I had to pay a lot of attention to them in order to keep track.
Thankfully there were also a few characters that added conflict and annoyance adding a change to the story. Christmas with the Knights is overloaded with plot twists. I found it hard to get lost in the characters. I could definitely get lost in everything Christmas that filled the pages.
I fell in love with Theo. He is an adorable little boy living in the Manor with his dad. He is a lttle boy lost. His mother has died. His father can no longer preform as a surgeon. Whenever he graced the pages my heart lit up. I looked forward to see what his next adventure would be.
The story shows that Christmas is full of miracles as the story has more that one happily ever after and brighter tomorrows.
I received a free copy of Christmas with the Kinghts, by Hannah Langdon, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Fallon Honeywood, is doing way to much. After fainting at work she decides to spend Christmas with her mom, the actress in Yorkshire. Yorkshire must be beautiful at Christmas time, what a beautiful setting to relax and take care of yourself like Fallon does. This was a nice Christmas read.
Christmas with the Knights by Hannah Langdon is a delightful holiday romance that follows event planner Fallon Honeywood as she swaps her hectic city life for a festive retreat at Blakeney Hall, her soap opera-star mother's grand estate on the Yorkshire moors. Initially hesitant about the family reunion, Fallon quickly becomes enchanted by the elegant world of aristocrat Alexander Knight and his sensitive son, Theo. Amidst the picturesque setting, she begins to confront her own loneliness and the possibility of a new beginning as she helps launch Alexander's artisanal gin business at the local Christmas Fayre.
As the holiday spirit blooms, Langdon weaves a charming tale of self-discovery, healing, and the transformative power of love, aided by a quirky cast of characters that includes an eccentric aunt, a rescue donkey named Heathcliff, and an endearing little dog. With the scent of pine and spices in the air, Fallon faces a pivotal choice: return to her old life or embrace a future filled with family, warmth, and the magic of Christmas. This enchanting story is a perfect escape for anyone looking to get swept up in the joys and surprises of the season.
A cute, fun festive read. Lots of characters but easy to follow. Not an author I've read before but thoroughly enjoyed the book.
When I read the main characters name, I knew I had to read it! And of course she is an event planner, and of course her mother is a soap opera star! Then add Christmas to the mix, and this book is amazing! This book is deliciously sweet
This is a perfect, feel-good, cosy up with the fire and Christmas tree lit behind you kind of book. Perfect Christmas read, simple and easy! This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop.

This was a really nice story. I liked all the characters, I just wished Fallon would’ve stood up to her Mom more.
It’s a nice romance set in a gorgeous sounding location. It made me wish I was there too. I agree with another reviewer in that it would make a nice Hallmark movie.
This is an enjoyable, festive read that explores real-life issues like love, relationships, and loss. Fallon Honeywood, on the verge of burnout from her event planning business, reluctantly joins her soap opera star mother at a Yorkshire manor for the holidays. The picturesque setting helps Fallon unwind and reflect on her strained relationship with her manipulative mother, while also confronting her own insecurities around love.
Though Fallon’s personal growth is somewhat predictable, the story is engaging, thanks to a colorful cast, including Runcible, her quirky dog, and Heathcliff, a carrot-loving rescue donkey. Fallon’s bond with Theo, a young boy struggling with loss, adds emotional depth to the narrative. Drama is provided by Fallon’s difficult mother and Annabel, a rival for the attention of the manor’s handsome widower.
Overall, this is an entertaining holiday read with heartwarming moments and a lively supporting cast.
