This F1 themed, forbidden romance nails in! Will Hawley, a talented but hot-headed F1 driver, meets Mira Wentworth, a new team assistant and the boss's daughter. There is an initial connection and the two must balance their feelings for each other with their focus on professional performance and scrutiny from the public/media. I liked this story for the effortless way it incorporated F1 themes and knowledge. There is also strong character development; it wasn't all fluff. Sign me up for the next book in the series!
Sincere thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for an advanced listener copy in exchange for an honest review.
No thoughts just vibes.
This went all of exactly where I expected. No more, no less. It was enjoyable enough, but I never really got to a point where I was invested. Probably, largely because the characters and plot lines were never surprising. It all walked a fine line of being not simple enough to be eye roll inducing, but also not original enough to be exciting. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. I'm sure this would be pretty enjoyable to lots of people, particularly fan's of Lauren Asher's dirty air series or any other number of F1 racing based romances. It would definitely scratch the itch.
In terms of the audiobook I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of the voices. Not totally sure why. Just didn’t work for me.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!!
What a good book! I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I loved the main characters! They had great chemistry and worked so well together. I loved how the book just flowed. My first by this author but will not be my last!!!
This was an easy listen with talented narrators.
If you enjoyed K. Bromberg's Full Throttle series or Lauren Asher's Dirty Air series, this would be a good read for you.
The part I had the hardest time wrapping my head around was Mira's perceived reason staying away for so long.
Fast & Reckless
° Sports Romance
° Friends to Lovers
° Forbidden Romance
"Fast & Reckless," part of the Racing Hearts series, follows Mira and Will as they return to the racing world. Mira works for her father, Paul, who manages the Formula 1 team that Will drives for. Both are determined to avoid past mistakes and prove they have changed. Mira grapples with shame from her past, while Will fights to show the media and his team that he has moved on beyond his "party boy" reputation and earn his parents' approval. Despite their focus on redemption, neither expect to find a forbidden romance, which adds tension to their story.
The author explores the theme of sexism, making Mira's journey particularly impactful. Will's supportive nature shines through, especially when he defends Mira against challenges, regardless of the consequences for his career. The vivid descriptions of competitive racing and glamorous global locations enhance the immersive experience. While I was not a fan of the third-person perspective, narrators Samantha Summers and Zac Smith effectively bring the characters to life.
Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Select and the author Amanda Weaver for the advanced audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.
There were subtle political undertones in this book and, honestly, I’m freaking sick of it. I’m sick of authors sneaking stuff in where they think people won’t notice it and, quite frankly, we do. And we don’t appreciate it. Write the romance and leave the extra opinions out of it. I didn’t love a lot about this book, including the romance that felt unrealistic and forced.
I didn’t realize there were so many books about F1 romances!! Yet, here we are with one more—and it didn’t disappoint.
The insta love between the two main characters wasn’t my favorite, but I loved their overall connection. Spice was spicy at like 3-3.5/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
(Thank you, Dreamscape Select and NetGalley, for the ARC audiobook in exchange for my honest review.)
I cannot comprehend driving a car at such high speeds, but I still love to read racing stories.
Expect 👉🏼 Formula one, workplace romance, bad reputations, boss’ daughter, secret relationship
Mira is back on the formula one circuit after years of avoiding it. Her past was ugly but as long as she can avoid making the same mistakes, she should be able to earn back her father’s trust. It’s too bad Will is apart of her job. And Will is proving more and more irresistible by the day.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Mira and Will. Watching her thaw to him and him become enamored with her while they developed a great friendship fraught with tension was so much fun.
The narrators did such a great job!
Thank you Zondo & Dreamscape Media for the review copies.
This was my first F1 novel and it did not disappoint.
Mira's character was well built, with a good amount of background info.
Will was bad boy vibes, but that wasn't really who he was.
These two had great chemistry and this was a great audio.
Zac Smith and his accent were 🥵
Great palate cleanser from those darker novels.

🎧 Audiobook Review! 🎧
Fast & Reckless was kindly provided as an ARC by NetGalley and Dreamscape Select. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful book!
As a lover of F1, I will read pretty much any F1 based book that comes out. If you are like me, Fast & Reckless is a good one to add to your list!
We meet Mira, the daughter of an F1 Team Owner, who had been away from the track for awhile after a scandal. She starts a secret relationship with Will, one of the team’s drivers.
There is a big secret that hangs over the story, and I really enjoyed how Weaver laid all of that out. I kept wondering what it was, why Mira hadn’t been on the track for so long. Weaver does such a great job of keeping that engagement.
I also love the travel aspect of this story. F1 races occur all over the world, and Weaver really paints the picture of what traveling to these races is like, and the beautiful cities they are held in.
I can’t write a review on a Sports Romance without mentioning the romance. No spoilers, but it’s good. Just the right amount of spice, in my option. And again, no spoilers, but there is a certain scene involving an F1 car that is fire.
Fast & Reckless is a really good sports romance. If you like F1, sports, or spice, check this book out!
This book was so good. This sports romance was a really good time. I love f1 books and this did not disappoint. This was a fast paced book with great character development. The relationship with the fmc and her parents was everything I wanted. Usually the parents in books are a$$ holes but hers were amazing and that was a great change of pace. Can't wait to read/listen to more from this author.

This was another one of those books I really should have stopped. It was nearly identical to a book I read a couple weeks ago and that one was so much better.
I couldn’t stand Mira. She was just ridiculous. I don’t know how many times I rolled my eyes at her behaviour. Girl, you’re a coward, stand up for yourself!
The narrators did a fine job, but to be honest, I don’t even remember most of this book. 😬 The only reason I bothered giving this two stars is because the ending was half decent. I probably wouldn’t recommend this one.

Mira was just 16 years old when she was targeted by a 30 year old race car driver who began a relationship. Her father was in the business, and it all ended horribly, with her father being suspended for a year and Mira unfairly getting painted unfairly all over the news.
Now, there is a new driver, Will, and Mira is an adult, and she really likes him. Should she risk a new scandal?
This is a quick, enjoyable contemporary romance. I did enjoy it.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great audiobook for my fellow race car romance readers. This one was one of my favorites. I can't wait for book 2!!
Performed in dual narration by Samantha Summers and Zach Smith.
It is an enjoyable yet slightly underwhelming read. While it had an intriguing setting in the racing world and some likable characters, the instant love and lack of deep emotional stakes kept it from being a more memorable or impactful story. Your feedback about the pacing of character development, particularly with Will and Miranda, and the low stakes in their conflicts, gives a balanced perspective on what worked and what fell short.
The fresh backdrop of Formula 1 was a highlight, but the predictable plot and quick conflict resolutions might have taken away some of the tension you'd want in a romance.
This is a fabulous mix of romance and Formula One. It was so interesting and I felt like I got a real insightful introduction to the sport. I've never even watched an F1 race! I felt so bad for the FMC and what she went through, but the MMC was so supportive and protective that it was wonderful. It was interesting to read how the appalling pasts of both characters impacted their futures. The narrators, Samantha Summers and Zac Smith, were excellent. This is really a fantastic listen.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Select and Amanda Weaver for an early release copy of this book. This is an honest review.
This booked revved my engines without fail!
This is my first Amanda Weaver read and it did not disappoint. This is a Formula 1 racing sports romance filled with great banter. It is a workplace romance after the FMC has sworn off romances with racers. It is forbidden as he is on her dad’s team and it is filled with will they/won’t they angst. He falls first and we love that for Mira.
We jump right in and meet Will Hawley, a Formula 1 racer. He has a wreck and then jumps to 3 years later. Miranda “Mira” Wentworth is our FMC and is starting a new job with a Formula 1 racing team. Mira is an American who moved to England for this job.
I loved Mira and the way she was written. I could relate to her really well and that made reading/listening to this one so easy. Watching both Will and Mira navigate their own issues and overcome them to be together was beautiful. I also really enjoyed watching how Mira and her father found one another again and built their relationship. It is something many of us sometimes wish we could do, but alas, in fiction everything is better.
Narration by Samantha Summers and Zac Smith in dual style.
Why is it that both formula 1 books I’ve read had playboy MMCs? But honestly I loved that this wasn’t a really big deal in this one! Because Will…he was just great!
I absolutely loved Mira. I loved her character arc. I loved her and Wills chemistry. This one was definitely insta-attraction but I loved how they really got to know each other and were open about their pasts. You could tell these two wanted the world for the other.
I don’t know much about F1 racing, but I felt like it was done really well here for fans of all levels! It felt exciting but also really easy to follow - so don’t let that deter you from picking it up!
Samantha Summers and Zac Smith did a great job bringing Mira and Will to life. They made it fun and really brought you into the story! Thank you netgalley and dreamscape media for the audiobook. All opinions are my own.

Loved this narration! The story gave so much F1 info that feel is left out normally in F1 romance stories. There were many times I felt like was at the track!
Thank you netgalley and Amanda for this ALC.
I did enjoy the racing aspect of this book, i thought it was well researched and super fun to follow and read about. What didn't work for me was the insta love, I truly have a hard time with that, and it happened to fast. I couldn't believe that the reformed playboy Will fell in 2.5 seconds for Mira so that threw me off a bit.
It was a still a fun and enjoyable read that is easily bingeable in one sitting!
✨️ Thank you to @netgalley, @dreamscape & Amanda Weaver for my gifted ALC in exchange for an honest review.
