This was my first Formula 1 book and I enjoyed it! I really enjoyed Will & Mira's love story. It was well-paced and entertaining. I would read more from this author! The narrators were great as well!

Thanks to NetGalley and Zando publishing for the advanced audiobook.

This was a fun and spicy romance novel set in the refreshingly new world of Formula One car racing (the hockey romances are starting to all blend together). There's just enough behind-the-scenes info to make me feel like I somewhat understood the world of racing and more than enough conflict to make the story compelling.

This book was good but I hate third act breakups. Overall I thought the story and plot was great and I enjoyed the formula 1 setting! Will and Mira were so relatable and I loved all the relationships formed with the team!

Wow Zando, just take my money please and keep giving me more of this!! When I saw this book I was drawn to the cover and the synopsis seemed just angsty enough to be a fun read. Then I saw who was publishing it and knew it would be good—they have been repeatedly publishing books that seem directed right at my guilty pleasure. Even better than reading this book? The audio! The narrator’s did a great job. It wasn’t just reading but storytelling and I was hooked.

Will was swoony and even likable as a reformed bad boy. Mira was likeable even when a bit annoying and stubborn about her past/insecurities. These are character that don’t represent a single person I know and yet I was here loving them and rooting for them. So do I care about racing? Nope—I’m from SC, racing here means mullets and cheap beer (not sexy). But whoa, whatever they have going on in Formula 1 in Europe…just sign me up! I seriously can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I saw where it wanted to go. And I could see the book it was wanting to be. But for me it didn’t quite hit the mark.

Fast & Reckless by Amanda Weaver is book one in the Racing Hearts series and it was so good!! If you like forbidden workplace romance, bosses daughter and assistant, F1 race car driver, slow burn, friends to lover, reformed playboy then you will love this audiobook.

Miranda “Mira” Wentworth is working for her dad as his assistant for his formula one team. She has had a troubled past so she feels like she needs to make it up to her dad. Will Hawley, is a formula one driver on her dad’s team. He has a bit of a reputation and is working hard to change his bad boy image. The chemistry between these 2 is instant however, but something from Mira’s past is holding her back from having any kind of relationship with Will.

This was my first race-car, formula one book and I enjoyed it. I felt like the story was so well written, I felt like I was behind the scenes in this story. I felt the stress of the races right along with the characters. This story was told from their POV’s which was great! Will was so patient and caring when it came to Mira. I felt so bad for Mira and what she went through, I would suffer from PTSD with her. I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much. Samantha Summers and Zac Smith did such a great job narrating this book…they were perfect for the part. Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Select, and Amanda Weaver for letting me listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.

Hello, Carlos Sainz lookalike on the cover. (Places book in the cart and proceeds to check out.)

I have to say Fast and Reckless is now taking over my number-one spot in the F1 series genre. It is well done, and it reads like you are a fan of F1. I also liked some of the colorful descriptions, like "he's tire-licked" the pavement. Pavement sounds like the wrong word; I forgot to write it down once I heard it. His tire licked something during the race. Lol Either way, you get my point. The descriptions of things, the show not tell, were more unique. As someone who loves descriptions, I really found that amazingly well done.

There is a 'pot kettle black' situation that happens, which, eh. But it didn't hold too much weight over the overall story.

As for our Characters, I loved Violet; she was pretty hilarious at times, especially when making Will do press activities. I also enjoyed how even though they already had a met cute style romance, the two of them were more professional, and Will didn't come off as a huge gross, know-it-all, I'm the best, you can't change me, type of racer that you mainly see in F1 series. They are both working hard for the team and as the team plays out, you can see their relationship grow, which gave me butterflies. Even though it was kind of back and forth, it was how their vulnerability came into play. (I hope that makes sense as I'm struggling with words lately, which is why the semi-delay review. Lol)

P.S. I need more within this series. Thank you! Lol

Now, since I received the audiobook through Net Galley in return for an honest review, thank you.
The narrator also did a really good job! I have a couple of Zac Smith audiobooks in my backlog to listen to, but I haven't heard him yet, and he did wonderfully! Samantha Summers, on the other hand, I hadn't heard of her, but she was fantastic! 10/10!

Amanda has turned me into a Formula 1 fan! This book was so much fun and I couldn’t put it down! Pretty sure even Will would be impressed with the speed at which I devoured this book.

I am a sucker for a workplace romance with mutual pining. It creates so much delicious tension and it is always so explosive when they finally give in. And oh boy did Will and Mira pining for each other. They were instantly attracted to each other but because of several factors, namely her being his boss’s daughter and her past, Mira was adamant that they couldn’t be more than friend. But we all know how that works out.

I loved the two of them together. Will was the reformed bad boy who coaxed Mira out of her self imposed shell. And Mira provided unwavering belief in Will and his ability to win.

I can’t claim any knowledge about F1 but this book felt well researched and immersive.

I’m officially a fan of Amanda and F1 and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Samantha Summers and Zac Smith did a wonderful job narrating. Both handled the multiple accents present in this book so well!

Oooh this was fun! I listened to Fast & Reckless immediately following the 2024 Baku Grand Prix where we witnessed Oscar Piastri win his second Grand Prix and even more exciting - McLaren pulling ahead in the constructors championship!!

This was a perfect Sunday, post-race listen while I was fresh from the excitement of the race. Amanda Weaver did an excellent job of incorporating the sport into this story. I'm a girl who loves to read about the action and game play in sports romances, so this was a treat!

I found Amanda managed to incorporate so much information about the sport while portraying it accurately and in a way that I feel would be digestible to those who are less familiar with the sport. She explained, without over-explaining and it really helped me visualize what was happening in the moment.

The romance between our MCs was wonderful. They started as strangers who clearly had an attraction but I feel like even though there were forbidden kisses and waffling back and forth about perusing one another, they really seemed to develop their connection through a friendship built on their love of F1, going on adventures in new cities they travel to on the circuit and getting vulnerable with one another.

I'll be honest, the revelation between the FMC and her father had me in tears. For some reason, when family dynamics go through it and begin healing, that usually makes me more emotional than some of the romantic relationships and Fast & Reckless was no exception!

I really loved this book and the cover is gorgeous!

The narrators also did a really good job! Samantha Summers perfectly portrayed Mira and all the emotions she experienced. Zac Smith had the perfect smooth accent that I could listen to for many more hours!

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Select for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

I've read a total of 2 F1 racing books and both of them have been about the Principals daughter returning to F1, after leaving under a dark cloud after having a non-consensual relationship with a driver (statuatory and otherwise), only to once again fall in love with a driver (only this time it's her fathers teams driver). Is this a trope in this racing romance subgenre???

That said, this entry was better than the last one I read. I listened to it all in one go. If you're a fan of insta-love and sport/racing romances, you'll probably really enjoy it. Mira was super relatable with her need for approval from her father. Will was a great example of a hot, bad-boy searching for redemption. I definitely liked him so much!

4⭐, 2.5🌶️

I loved how much I enjoyed this book! The F1 moments were so well described I felt like I was actually listening to a sky sports recounting. The drama on the track at moments had me stopping to stand still and listen. SO GOOD!

I really liked the premise of this forbidden secret romance. I really liked the 'mystery' behind Mira's break with the F1 work, and Will's bad boy mentality had me instantly knowing I would love him.

So I think the main reason I gave this book 4 stars was as I was reading the audiobook, while I was listening I enjoyed it, but I wasnt gripped enough at times and got distracted and would zone out and miss points of the story. Is that probably my fault more? yes. BUT, while I listened to it, I really enjoyed what I was listeneing to! But I missed some of the story sooo I cant give it higher.

Sports romance books hit differently (and way better) when you actually follow the sport. The romantic component of *Fast & Reckless* was fairly generic. While the story is sweet and entertaining, it was the well-established F1 environment that kept my interest.

Thank you Amanda Weaver, Dreamscape Select, and NetGalley for my advanced review audiobook. Fast & Reckless is out now!

I listened to any audio of this book and the narrators did a great job.

This book was a fun listen. I've never been a big race car fan, but this was interesting and sexy and fun! A driver and the daughter of the car company have big time insta lust to insta love, which tends to make the story unbelievable for me.

These two do resist each other for most of the book but are still obsessed the entire time.

It had some deep moments and some decent spice, but overall I wish it wasn't so perfect for them.

I received an ALC of this book from NetGalley and Dreamscape, thank you!

Formula 1 fans will devour Fast & Reckless! It's a must read for fans of sport romance.

I loved the premise of this book. Will and Mira have this chemistry that was undeniable and this friends to lovers in the world of motorsport. I thought that the narration was great. I loved the way they took the story and made it more interactive. I thought that the narrators did a great job of adding depth and emotion to the story and added to it. I adored this book! I love that we see them grow and fall in love and how they balance each other and the way they just fell head over heels in love while all this was going on. I thought that the story had a good balance of sports but it didn't take away from the romance and we got to see Will and Mira flourish. I loved the angst, the romance, the tension. It's swoony, sweet and perfect for F1 fans! I cannot recommend this book enough!

The F1 slow burn I have been waiting for to start my racing journey. This racing world was written so vividly, the excitement of the races had me in holding my breath at times. The romance has workplace, forced proximity, maybe a little bit forbidden and definitely a lot of flirty chemistry.

Formula 1 racing meets forbidden romance in this fast-paced novel by Amanda Weaver. The author skillfully weaves together high-stakes racing, intense passion, and a captivating redemption arc.

At the heart of the story is Will Hawley, a charismatic yet troubled Formula 1 driver with a history of scandalous behavior. His encounter with Miranda (Mira) Wentworth, the daughter of his team's leader, sparks an unexpected and forbidden romance. As their relationship intensifies, the pressure from the public and the team threatens to tear them apart.

Will's redemption arc is particularly compelling, as he grapples with his past mistakes and strives to become a better man. Mira is a strong and independent character who adds to the story.

The author's vivid descriptions of the Formula 1 racing scenes bring the sport to life, immersing readers in the excitement and intensity of the races. The fast-paced narrative keeps the reader engaged and eager to see how the story will unfold.

While the instant love between Will and Mira felt a bit rushed, I did feel their push and pull and felt their connection.

The third-person narration might have benefited from a dual POV in the first person. This would have provided a deeper insight into the thoughts and feelings of both Will and Mira, making their connection more relatable.

The audiobook narration by Samantha Summers and Zac Smith is commendable. Their performances effectively capture the characters' personalities and emotions, bringing them to life. I did have to listen at a little slower speed (1.75x) than I usually do (2x). None of this is a deal breaker and still a good listen.

Overall, this novel is a thrilling and entertaining read that will appeal to fans of formula 1 racing or sports romance fans. 3.5/5 stars

Thank you #NetGalley #Dreamscape for the ALC!!

I enjoyed this listen. The plot, while predictable, was unique. That is a perfect balance for me!! It's different but you don't have to exhaust yourself trying to follow along. I do feel that it could have been a lot shorter. I had fun with this unique take on a classic trope.

I am a huge F1 and racing fan, so I was super excited to read this racing romance! I feel like the author was true to the sport. The plot was predictable, but still a fun contemporary romance with a little spice. I just wasn’t in love with the characters and feel like they lacked depth or development.

I love an F1 romance! Will and Mira enter the season, each with their own baggage from the past. Will made bad choices in his initial F1 debut; choices that make him want to prove that he's not that guy anymore and is capable of a championship win. Mira is back to redeem herself with her dad (the team principal) and get past some demons from an experience as a teenager. Mira's storyline was heartbreaking, and it was something that unfortunately could easily happen in real life. I wanted to hug her and tell her it wasn't her fault at several points of this book. The 3rd act hurt my heart, but things came together nicely at the end. I appreciated so much that the conflict wasn't about Will being an "F1 party boy" because I see that a lot. I'd read more in this world if Amanda wrote it!

I really appreciated the quality of the audio. The dual narration added to the story and creating the character in my head. Things sounded good at various speeds, which I loved as someone who tends to speed audio up.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ALC of this book for an honest review.

One of the best racing romance books. Mira is re-joining her dad's racing company 7 years after she left. Will was hired on as a new driver 3 years after a scandal. Sparks fly almost instantly, but Mira wants to stay just friends to keep another potential scandal away. Friends to lovers. Spicy 2.5/5.
