honestly, devney can do no wrong.

jax haven is a new favorite. the way he is so patient and loving and understanding with sasha. the way he is such a loyal friend to those around him. the way this man just cares.

i love this book so much. it was exactly what i needed. a heroine with a mysterious past. a cowboy that can rock a baseball hat or a cowboy hat and is so down bad for the fmc.

the audio was done so well!! it was the perfect way for me to reread it and may or may not have reread it a couple times 🤭

Devney Perry actually never misses!! Omg I loved this book so much and this might actually be my favorite book of hers. Like I am actually obsessed. Accidental pregnancy is one of my favorite tropes, I will always eat it up and this one was done so well. I loved all the banter and how down bad Jax was for Sasha.

This is book 2 in the Haven River Ranch series and follows Jax and Sasha.

The story picks up a few years after the end of the 1st book, so West and xxx have settled down and had some kids, whilst Jax, who was such a playboy in book 1 has grown up and is determined to win Sasha over.
Sasha will not be swayed by her tempting boss, not when she desperately needs this job. However a fun night together leads to a positive test, and Sasha has to come around to the idea real fast that Jax isn’t going anywhere.

That meet cute was meet cutin’ hard!!! The boss/employee trope is tied and tested but when they’ve had an encounter prior to knowing who each other is, its fabulous.

Oh I love me a cocky cowboy who smirks🤭🤭🤭 Jax was into Sasha from the moment he met her and it showed. He was determined to win her over no matter how hard Sasha tried to keep him out. He was caring and gentle with her as they navigated the pregnancy together. His own challenges with his parents were reflected in his concerns about being a parent and being there for Sasha, but he showed up everyday for her. Sasha came into town as a bit of a mystery, and it becomes apparent that she’s hiding something which is the reason why her walls are built so high. She’s fiercely independent even to her detriment sometimes. Opening up and letting Jax help her was one the biggest challenges Sasha could face, but he proves that at Haven River Ranch, you’re family.

I love an accidental pregnancy where you see the couple come together to become better versions of themselves, which I think Devney does exceptionally well.

Thanks to Devney and @valentine_pr_ for the ALC!

3.75⭐️ rounded to 4! Back in haven river ranch & I am so happy! I forgot how enticing Devney’s writing is & how easily she pulls you into her stories.

I was awaiting Jax’s story after Crossroads & this was pretty good. I loved the angst & pull this story had. While some people don’t like surprise pregnancy as a trope in romance novels, I actually do so this was right up my alley.

You could feel the chemistry of these two from the moment they met & Jax was sooo sweet to Sasha even though she had so many walls up. The slow run of her walls coming down was a struggle for me. I wanted her to open up so much sooner to Jax. I think this was one that I didn’t love the secret but totally understand it?if that makes sense. I really loveddd the lies and secrets and seeing old characters💕 Jax is the most swoony protective mmc & I love it.

I found myself feeling like not much was happing though as the story went on. We have a 7 year time jump from the first book in this series & I thought that was so fun and enjoyable to see where the characters were now—but the time jumps within this book were a problem for me. For a surprise pregnancy book, I totally understand that in order for you to make it the whole 9 months there has to be time jumps—but I didn’t feel like Sasha and Jax had enough time to connect. There needed to be more. I wanted more from the entire story.

🎧I really loved the audiobook of this one! Ava did so good at portraying the emotions Sasha felt throughout the entire book. I feel like moments were hard to understand when Jax was speaking. But overall, it was well done. 4/5🎙️

Sunlight is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series. This book is about Jax and Sasha and is told from both of their points of view.

One thing I love about Devney Perry books is how the characters meet. In this book they meet over trouble with a shopping cart. Sasha wants to borrow a shopping cart to get her groceries home, and the employee wants nothing to do with it. Jax comes in to rescue the day.

When Sasha realizes Jax is one of the owners of where her new job is she knows she needs to stay away from him. However, one night changes everything.

I loved the banter between these two characters, as well reading their story. They have things thrown at them, but they work together to get through it. I can't wait to read what's next in this series!

I adored this book and this series is already showing that it’s going to be great! I actually listened to the audio for this book and thought it was fantastic! The female narrator could have done both male and female for the entire book and I still would have loved it. She is great!
Cannot wait to see where this series goes, definitely going to be another favorite!

Tell me a lie. Tell me a secret.

I loved this book so so much. I devoured the audiobook in a day because I just couldn't stop listening to it. I thought Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter were perfect for this story. I am a huge Ava Erickson fan, but I haven't listened to Stephen Dexter much, but that will definitely change.

Sasha was only staying in Montana for a short time. She was covering for Indya while she is on maternity leave. She meets Jax at the grocery store when he assists her with her groceries and asks her out. Then she finds out his name and while he isn't directly her boss while she is working at the ranch, he isn't not her boss either. So, she declines, and they go about their separate ways.

Sasha does her best to avoid Jax at all costs, but they keep getting thrown together. But things really change after the annual holiday party, and they realize they can't stay away from each other anymore. And then Sasha ends up pregnant.

Now these two have to navigate a whole new situation, while Sasha is dealing with some personal demons of her owns.

I just loved how Jax was with Sasha, and he went all in when she discovered she was pregnant. I am not sure if there will be more books in this series, but I really hope there will be.

The return to Haven River Ranch is finally here and it was everything I needed! But first things first, am I actually a fan of the accidental pregnancy trope? This is probably the third book I’ve read with that trope lately and I’ve been eating it up!

Sasha and Jax were total opposites. Their relationship was the epitome of golden retriever and black cat vibes. I loved them together and I loved their banter. The mutual pining and forced proximity was fantastic.

I thought this book was so well done and I swear if Devney writes it, I’m gonna read it. Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson also slayed this audio.

As we returned to Haven River Ranch, I found myself completely engrossed in the captivating world painted by the author. The story unfolds in a small town's picturesque setting, where Jax and Sasha's heartfelt romance takes center stage. From their mesmerizing first meeting to the profound emotional depth of their characters, I was truly spellbound. The accidental pregnancy element was seamlessly integrated into the narrative, resonating deeply with my emotions. I believe that anyone who picks up this book will be entranced by Sasha and Jax's journey, as well as the compelling found family dynamic.

The audiobook was a sensory delight! The dual narration by Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter was a perfect match for the characters of Sasha and Jax. Ava's soothing tone skillfully brought out the complexities of Sasha's character, expertly portraying her blend of rigidity and vulnerability as she adapted to her new life in Montana. On the other hand, Stephen's rich, resonant voice flawlessly embodied Jax's energetic, charismatic, and protective nature. The palpable chemistry between the characters was vividly brought to life by the narrators, effectively conveying the tension and yearning that permeated the story.

I am so glad to be back at Haven River Ranch! I loved the little tease we got of Jax and Sasha at the end of Crossroads and it had me craving more. I loved their banter and tension- it made me laugh and you could definitely tell there was underlying chemistry between them. Ava and Stephen were cast so well- I loved them as Jax and Sasha. there were so many vulnerable moments between them and both narrators displayed those emotions perfectly. Ava specifically has this was of making you really buy into her character. I felt like there was a lot of character development between both of them, and I really liked getting to see them both grow. one thing I really loved was them asking one another to “tell me a lie?” and “tell me a secret”. I loved being able to fall in love with the Haven River Ranch a little bit more.

SUNLIGHT
by Devney Perry
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was an AWESOME read! It had some of my favorite tropes: small town, forced proximity, workplace romance. The Haven River Ranch series has not disappointed. Crossroads began this journey and now Sunlight has topped book one with the love between these two characters. I was so drawn in and wrapped up in Sasha and Jax’s world of ‘the unknown’ with the pregnancy, the chemistry between them and the love that grew. This book was so well written. There were moments of laughter, moments of joy, of nail biting, of sadness with tears and moments of pure love. Devney Perry is most definitely on my favorite author’s list!

The audio for this one was perfect! Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson voiced Jax and Sasha and really brought these characters to life! This will be one I listen to more than once!

“My Josephine.” ⁣

The minute I read that line, I was a goner! Could the man be any sweeter?⁣

I wasn’t sure where Jax’s story would go after reading Crossroads. He was a bit of a mystery, but I loved every second of his story! He showed a wide range of emotions throughout, from hurt from his step-mom situation to joy and unconditional love for his unborn child to falling in love with Sasha.⁣

Sasha had me guessing through the whole book! I couldn’t figure out who she was writing letters to and had about 4 different guesses. Special thanks to my friend for fielding my text messages every time I changed my mind about who I thought it was. It turned out my original guess was correct, so yay me!⁣

Sasha had built some necessary walls in her life and was understandably slow to let herself feel things for other people. But watching Jax break through to her was everything I wanted for the couple! ⁣

Expect:⁣
💛 Small Town⁣
💛 Cowboy romance⁣
💛 Surprise Pregnancy⁣
💛 Workplace/Forced Proximity⁣

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for an eARC and ALC of this book. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.⁣

I’m not sure if there’s more coming in this series, but if there is, you know I’ll be reading it! (So please let there be more!)

Workplace, forced proximity, accidental pregnancy, opposites attract, cowboy

Oh my oh my how I love Jax and Sasha!! True to form Devney brought us an utterly perfect small town accidental pregnancy book! I savored every minute of Jax and Sasha and was definitely not ready for it to end. Dare I say this easily became a top Devney book for me.

Jax and Sasha meet by chance at the grocery store. The attraction is immediate and the flirting was off the charts, until Sasha realizes that Jax is her new boss (kind of, he owns the ranch where she will be working). Once Sasha realizes this she immediately tries to shut down her feelings and put her walls up as high as possible. However these two can't resist the pull and finally give in to one night...which leads to two pink lines and a whole lot to figure out.
I am so in love with these two. Sasha was so guarded and watching Jax tear her walls down just warmed my heart. And I always have rooted for Jax. I wanted him to have his own family and HEA and he just fought so hard for it.

The narration was phenomenal as always!

Thank you Devney for an ARC of this story!

4.5⭐️ absolutely devoured this!! Haven river ranch is quickly becoming my favorite series by Devney and that’s saying something because i love so many of her books.

When we first meet Jax in Crossroads, I immediately knew I was going to LOVE his book. And boy, was I right about that! This books has it all: hot cowboys, tender moments, delicious tension, flirty banter, and emotional depth.

What to expect!
✨ small town romance
✨ accidental pregnancy
✨ cowboy romance
✨ forced proximity
✨ workplace romance
✨ a little bit of mystery/suspense

I know what you’re thinking accidental pregnancy?? But i demand justice for the accidental pregnancy trope!!! It can be done so well and evoke so much emotion. Devney did such amazing things with this trope. It’s truly the blueprint that everyone should follow for accidental pregnancy and is one of my favorites I’ve ever read!

One thing I love about Devney’s books is there’s often a little mystery/suspense plot with some twists and turns. This one was no different! I was on the edge of my seat and needed to know the tea!!

I absolutely adored the characters in this book. Both Jax and Sasha had such amazing character growth! Seeing Sasha let her wall down and open up to Jax was perfection. I loved seeing her accept help and love into her life after everything she had been through. And Jax, what a little golden retriever with a dash of reformed player! But, he met Sasha and fell first and hard. He was so patient and sweet with her. He really gave her a safe place to land and a place to call home which was so special!

We also get to see glimpses of West and Indya from Crossroads and their cutie kids which I absolutely loved! Devney is always going to be an auto buy author for me! She never fails me and I’m always itching for the next book as soon as I devour a new release.

Thank you so much Devney & team and Valentine PR for the ARC!

Welcome back to Haven River Ranch.

💭 I absolutely LOVED this book. I listened to it on audio and the narrators brought it to life. Sasha and Jax had me giggling and kicking my feet, right from the beginning with a grocery cart! These two truly have such good chemistry. The tell me a lie, tell me a truth game they play was so good too.

No one does surprise pregnancy like Devney. It’s not a secret it’s my least favorite trope, but our girl writes them so well that I am ALL ABOUT IT.

Haven River Ranch is truly given Jamison Valley some competition on my Devney Perry hierarchy of favorites!

Asking for a friend—can I get an open-ended ticket to Haven Ranch? The brothers were amazing, and Deveny has me ready to book a trip right now!

One of my favorite parts was definitely the “tell me a secret” and “tell me a lie” moments. Those scenes felt so personal, and I found myself tearing up and smiling at Jax. He’s so perceptive, and watching him figure out Sasha was heartwarming.

This book is filled with so much emotion—both from Sasha and Jax. I felt deeply for both characters; they’ve been through so much, and the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing those emotions to life.

I highly recommend reading this series! Deveny’s writing really captured the emotional depth of the characters. The dialogue between Sasha and Jax felt raw and authentic, making their connection even more powerful.

This series is so much more than a small town cowboy romance series. So far both books have taken us on a beautiful emotional journey. Both books have had so much healing and growth with the characters in a very impactful way.

There are 2 things that are GETTING me every time in a book lately and that's a perfect meet cute and a he falls first. Devney delivered with both of those here. Jax and Sasha's meet cute had me chortling!! Their banter then and throughout the book was priceless.

If you are a disliker of accidental pregnancy I challenge you to try a Devney one! She does them in such a beautiful way every time you can't help falling in love too. Jax steps up for her big time.

The audio 🎧 done beautifully by Ava Erikson & Stephen Dexter. I felt like I was in a movie they made it come to life so well!

I loved returning to Haven River Ranch! Jax and Sasha’s story was so good! From their entertaining meet cute, to the angst, emotion, chemistry, and banter that came along with their relationship - it was all perfection. The letters written by Sasha that contain some mystery for us to follow adds a special element as well. Jax is such a charmer and I absolutely adore his character. I loved getting to know both of them, and all the growth they showed throughout. Their familial aspects added even more depth that I really enjoyed. Devney definitely knows how to writes books that will tug at your heartstrings, and I am always obsessed with them!

🎧The audiobook is narrated by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson, and produced by Brilliance Audio. It is amazing, I am so happy I was able to listen to it. I always love their performances, and this is one of my favorites by both of them!
