I am so glad to be back at Haven River Ranch! I loved the little tease we got of Jax and Sasha at the end of Crossroads and it had me craving more. I loved their banter and tension- it made me laugh and you could definitely tell there was underlying chemistry between them. Ava and Stephen were cast so well- I loved them as Jax and Sasha. there were so many vulnerable moments between them and both narrators displayed those emotions perfectly. Ava specifically has this was of making you really buy into her character. I felt like there was a lot of character development between both of them, and I really liked getting to see them both grow. one thing I really loved was them asking one another to “tell me a lie?” and “tell me a secret”. I loved being able to fall in love with the Haven River Ranch a little bit more.

This book was an AWESOME read! It had some of my favorite tropes: small town, forced proximity, workplace romance. The Haven River Ranch series has not disappointed. Crossroads began this journey and now Sunlight has topped book one with the love between these two characters. I was so drawn in and wrapped up in Sasha and Jax’s world of ‘the unknown’ with the pregnancy, the chemistry between them and the love that grew. This book was so well written. There were moments of laughter, moments of joy, of nail biting, of sadness with tears and moments of pure love. Devney Perry is most definitely on my favorite author’s list!

The audio for this one was perfect! Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson voiced Jax and Sasha and really brought these characters to life! This will be one I listen to more than once!

“My Josephine.” ⁣

The minute I read that line, I was a goner! Could the man be any sweeter?⁣

I wasn’t sure where Jax’s story would go after reading Crossroads. He was a bit of a mystery, but I loved every second of his story! He showed a wide range of emotions throughout, from hurt from his step-mom situation to joy and unconditional love for his unborn child to falling in love with Sasha.⁣

Sasha had me guessing through the whole book! I couldn’t figure out who she was writing letters to and had about 4 different guesses. Special thanks to my friend for fielding my text messages every time I changed my mind about who I thought it was. It turned out my original guess was correct, so yay me!⁣

Sasha had built some necessary walls in her life and was understandably slow to let herself feel things for other people. But watching Jax break through to her was everything I wanted for the couple! ⁣

Expect:⁣
💛 Small Town⁣
💛 Cowboy romance⁣
💛 Surprise Pregnancy⁣
💛 Workplace/Forced Proximity⁣

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for an eARC and ALC of this book. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.⁣

I’m not sure if there’s more coming in this series, but if there is, you know I’ll be reading it! (So please let there be more!)

Oh my oh my how I love Jax and Sasha!! True to form Devney brought us an utterly perfect small town accidental pregnancy book! I savored every minute of Jax and Sasha and was definitely not ready for it to end. Dare I say this easily became a top Devney book for me.

Jax and Sasha meet by chance at the grocery store. The attraction is immediate and the flirting was off the charts, until Sasha realizes that Jax is her new boss (kind of, he owns the ranch where she will be working). Once Sasha realizes this she immediately tries to shut down her feelings and put her walls up as high as possible. However these two can't resist the pull and finally give in to one night...which leads to two pink lines and a whole lot to figure out.
I am so in love with these two. Sasha was so guarded and watching Jax tear her walls down just warmed my heart. And I always have rooted for Jax. I wanted him to have his own family and HEA and he just fought so hard for it.

The narration was phenomenal as always!

Thank you Devney for an ARC of this story!

4.5⭐️ absolutely devoured this!! Haven river ranch is quickly becoming my favorite series by Devney and that’s saying something because i love so many of her books.

When we first meet Jax in Crossroads, I immediately knew I was going to LOVE his book. And boy, was I right about that! This books has it all: hot cowboys, tender moments, delicious tension, flirty banter, and emotional depth.

What to expect!
✨ small town romance
✨ accidental pregnancy
✨ cowboy romance
✨ forced proximity
✨ workplace romance
✨ a little bit of mystery/suspense

I know what you’re thinking accidental pregnancy?? But i demand justice for the accidental pregnancy trope!!! It can be done so well and evoke so much emotion. Devney did such amazing things with this trope. It’s truly the blueprint that everyone should follow for accidental pregnancy and is one of my favorites I’ve ever read!

One thing I love about Devney’s books is there’s often a little mystery/suspense plot with some twists and turns. This one was no different! I was on the edge of my seat and needed to know the tea!!

I absolutely adored the characters in this book. Both Jax and Sasha had such amazing character growth! Seeing Sasha let her wall down and open up to Jax was perfection. I loved seeing her accept help and love into her life after everything she had been through. And Jax, what a little golden retriever with a dash of reformed player! But, he met Sasha and fell first and hard. He was so patient and sweet with her. He really gave her a safe place to land and a place to call home which was so special!

We also get to see glimpses of West and Indya from Crossroads and their cutie kids which I absolutely loved! Devney is always going to be an auto buy author for me! She never fails me and I’m always itching for the next book as soon as I devour a new release.

Thank you so much Devney & team and Valentine PR for the ARC!

Welcome back to Haven River Ranch.

💭 I absolutely LOVED this book. I listened to it on audio and the narrators brought it to life. Sasha and Jax had me giggling and kicking my feet, right from the beginning with a grocery cart! These two truly have such good chemistry. The tell me a lie, tell me a truth game they play was so good too.

No one does surprise pregnancy like Devney. It’s not a secret it’s my least favorite trope, but our girl writes them so well that I am ALL ABOUT IT.

Haven River Ranch is truly given Jamison Valley some competition on my Devney Perry hierarchy of favorites!

Asking for a friend—can I get an open-ended ticket to Haven Ranch? The brothers were amazing, and Deveny has me ready to book a trip right now!

One of my favorite parts was definitely the “tell me a secret” and “tell me a lie” moments. Those scenes felt so personal, and I found myself tearing up and smiling at Jax. He’s so perceptive, and watching him figure out Sasha was heartwarming.

This book is filled with so much emotion—both from Sasha and Jax. I felt deeply for both characters; they’ve been through so much, and the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing those emotions to life.

I highly recommend reading this series! Deveny’s writing really captured the emotional depth of the characters. The dialogue between Sasha and Jax felt raw and authentic, making their connection even more powerful.

This series is so much more than a small town cowboy romance series. So far both books have taken us on a beautiful emotional journey. Both books have had so much healing and growth with the characters in a very impactful way.

There are 2 things that are GETTING me every time in a book lately and that's a perfect meet cute and a he falls first. Devney delivered with both of those here. Jax and Sasha's meet cute had me chortling!! Their banter then and throughout the book was priceless.

If you are a disliker of accidental pregnancy I challenge you to try a Devney one! She does them in such a beautiful way every time you can't help falling in love too. Jax steps up for her big time.

The audio 🎧 done beautifully by Ava Erikson & Stephen Dexter. I felt like I was in a movie they made it come to life so well!

Thank you Devney, @val and @netgall @brillia

I loved returning to Haven River Ranch! Jax and Sasha’s story was so good! From their entertaining meet cute, to the angst, emotion, chemistry, and banter that came along with their relationship - it was all perfection. The letters written by Sasha that contain some mystery for us to follow adds a special element as well. Jax is such a charmer and I absolutely adore his character. I loved getting to know both of them, and all the growth they showed throughout. Their familial aspects added even more depth that I really enjoyed. Devney definitely knows how to writes books that will tug at your heartstrings, and I am always obsessed with them!

🎧The audiobook is narrated by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson, and produced by Brilliance Audio. It is amazing, I am so happy I was able to listen to it. I always love their performances, and this is one of my favorites by both of them!

This series just keeps getting better and better! I've been a huge fan of 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲'𝐬 writing for a long time. She stole my heart with Jupiter Hill and I haven't been the same since! Her ability to write vulnerable characters is so unique. Ones that find a safe place in each other in a beautiful found family way. And this book was exactly that!

“𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏, 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒔?”
“𝑵𝒐, 𝑰’𝒎 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒘𝒃𝒐𝒚. 𝑶𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆, 𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒖𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒃𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓. 𝑾𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒔, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆.”

𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 and 𝐉𝐚𝐱 might have been complete opposites in most ways. But they were the perfect example of opposites attract. He was messy, cocky, and a HUGE part of his small town. While Sasha was organized, quiet, and withdrawn! But even though they were total opposites they both brought out something beautiful in each other. And that was only amplified when they were brought together even closer when Sasha fell pregnant.

Jax was one swoony observant cowboy! He had it bad for Sasha from the very beginning without even realizing it. I LOVED the way this man watched her! Noting every expression she made and what it meant. Like the way her features changed when she lied or when she was nervous. It was ADORABLE! He also knew exactly when she was too far in her head and was beginning to spiral and how to center her and put her focus on something else. I couldn't get enough of his swoony cowboy ways. Every time this man said "𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩" I melted. Beautifully done Devney!!

“𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕.”
𝑶𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅. 𝑨 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 𝑰 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚, 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒚. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒘𝒂𝒚. “𝑰 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒎𝒆.”

Sasha's character was so special. I absolutely loved her from the very start. She had such a gentle nature. And Devney did such a great job of bringing that side out. I loved getting to know more and more about her. We knew she was holding back a lot of secrets. And the more I learned the more I loved her character. She was so selfless. Life hadn't been the kindest to her, but she still stayed so strong and beautifully humble.

Devney did such an incredible job on their relationship. From the very start, the push and pull they had going on!! I couldn't put this book down, especially once Jax became determined to win Sasha's heart and make her fall in love with Montana! I was obsessed!!

“𝑺𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒚.”
“𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏’. 𝑳𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒆.”

One thing that really stood out to me in this book was Sasha's adamancy about the baby never being labeled as an accident. And the way that Jax could relate to that feeling! It was so well conveyed. And the way I could 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋 Sasha's emotions every time it was mentioned. Ahh. It was perfect!

If you're looking for a series with some sexy cowboys who are determined to win over the hearts of the FMCs in the most swoon-worthy way, this series is for you!!

I love these two narrators so much. But I'm not sure I've ever heard them do a book together! And my gosh! We need more of these two performing together! There was just something about Stephen playing a swoony cocky cowboy that had me completely captivated! He did such an incredible job as Jax!! Ava played Sasha and she truly did her character justice! Ava's ability to play such a vulnerable female character is one of my favorites! It was so well done. I loved it. This audiobook was beautiful. And that's really the only way to describe it.

I loved coming back to Haven River Ranch. Sunlight is Book 2 in the series. This is Jax and Sasha's story. On Sasha's first day in Montana she gets in a tug-of-war over a grocery shopping cart. Enter Jax. He comes to help with the scuffle. Sparks fly and he asks Sasha on a date, but when she finds out his name she declines. He happens to be her new boss at her new work. So on her first day at the job she pretends he's a stranger. She avoids him at all costs until the holiday party where they spend the night together. Weeks later she finds out she's pregnant with Jax's baby.

Jax and Sasha's meet cute was so funny and unexpected! Loved how Jax was a gentleman and stepped up to diffuse the situation. I immediately felt the electric chemistry between them. It was a short encounter, but I loved how they asked eachother questions to break the awkwardness. I loved how their relationship progressed naturally even with the pregnancy it brought them closer.

As for the audiobook narration, it was fantastic! Performed in dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson. These two were amazing as always. Stephen does grumpy so well. He brought out Jax's charm and he exuded Jax's patience and care with Sasha. As for Ava, she portrayed Sasha with a cool and calm tone. She gave that lightheartedness that Sasha had. Together they brought out the bickering and playfulness between Jax and Sasha.

Tell me a lie – I hate Montana
Tell me a secret – I love you

Set against the beautiful background of Montana’s mountains, six years or so after the first book, the Haven River Ranch series continues with Jax Haven’s story and if you thought West had a rough ride, you ain’t seen nothing yet. When Jax rescued a beautiful woman from a fight over a shopping trolley he had no idea that within a year his world would be turned on its head. Instantly attracted to Sasha, he walked her home, flirting all the way until he gave her his name and things went cold. Sasha as it turns out was the new manager at the resort and for her own reasons couldn’t risk putting her job at risk by dating one of the bosses, something she held true to, despite the temptation until too much champagne one night led to the inevitable in more ways than one.

When I see Devney Perry’s name on a book I know I’m in for a treat, this author has a knack of creating characters you can’t help but care for and with Sunlight what an angsty and emotional tale it was for Sasha and Jax. Slow paced, the story wrung every emotion from this reader, and I loved the slowburn development of their relationship as they got to know each other through a game of secrets and lies. Sasha just seemed such a lonely character with no friends. She was a girl burdened with secrets and guilt ridden over decisions she’d had to make when she was little more than a child while Jax carried his own pain over his mother’s behaviour towards him and I loved Sasha’s instant defence of him when she found out. Added to the story was the mystery of just who Eddie the recipient of Sasha’s letters was and his connection to her. With a beautiful epilogue to round off their story I can’t wait to return Haven River Ranch.

Devney Perry is back with Sunlight, another completely captivating small-town cowboy romance in the Haven River Ranch series. Sizzling with electric chemistry and rich in emotional depth, this story focuses on Jax, the charming playboy ranch owner, and Sasha, the resort’s new manager. The two are thrown into a forbidden workplace romance following their one night stand that results in an unexpected surprise. The slow-burn tension between them builds beautifully, blending passion with emotional complexity as their relationship unfolds.

I listened to the audiobook, performed in dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson, who both turned in stellar performances. Stephen Dexter’s rendition of Jax was perfection, Ava Erickson’s Sasha was wonderfully vulnerable and understandably cautious, and their natural chemistry brought this couple to life in my ears. Perry's storytelling is both heartfelt and steamy resulting in an authentic and magnetic connection. Perry delivers yet another engaging, well-crafted cowboy romance brimming with heart and heat set in her beloved Montana! Five smooches from me for Sunlight by Devney Perry!

If you haven't visited the Haven River Ranch yet...this is your sign that it's time to saddle up and get on that horse!
I will start by saying I fell in love with Jax's older bro in the first book "Crossroads" (go read it if you haven't yet!), thus Sunlight was an automatic read for me and it did not disappoint as I messaged my bestie telling her I was starting it that morning and listened straight through!
This story has humor and good chemistry front the the word go! Plus a lot of healing and really good
'feel good' vibes throughout! I don't always get invested in the back story of characters, but loved the inner struggles both of the MCs worked through from their childhoods and felt they were really done justice! (without giving anything away!) Plus she snuck in a little mystery again...this one being a character...keeping me on my toes, back and forth trying to solve it throughout!
And I want to also give big kudos to Devney as Sasha and Jax have changed my feelings on the accidental pregnancy trope...as it's a trope I normally do not gravitate towards and walked away feeling like a changed woman on that front! She nailed it!
Bonus- felt like a gift getting to meet some new characters that gave us a glimpse into past characters from Crossroads current lives!! Giving me all the feels!

Never met a Devney Perry book I didn't like! She especially does surprise pregnancy so well and this was no different.

I loved Jax and Sasha! They were so sweet together but also Jax had me cracking up at times haha. And also knew what he was doing with the spicy spice. I loved how they met and thought the workplace romance aspects were perfect. Sasha especially didn't want to give in since he was her boss, but of course she couldn't deny their chemistry!

I loved Jax and how he weaved his way into her heart lol. I adored their lies and secrets so so much and how they got to know each other. Those were definitely some of my favorite parts of the book!

I also enjoyed that this wasn't just about the pregnancy. Obviously it was still a big part of the story and I loved how Jax wanted to protect and take care of her. But there was still such a great focus on growing their relationship.

I also liked the little subplots we got with both of their families. Sasha's family had some mystery to them and I thought all of that was great. And I loved seeing Jax with his brother and work through things with his family too.

I have just loved the vibes of this series on the ranch. This series is some of Devney's best work and I'm sad that it's only two books! I feel like it set up another book pretty well, so here's to hoping we get more. The audio was absolutely perfect. Loved this!

What a phenomenal second book for the Haven River Ranch series!! I may not be a big accidental pregnancy reader, but when it’s done right like this, it makes for the SWEETEST & SPICIEST story!

I loved Jax & Sasha! Reading Sunlight felt so nostalgic, with the feel of Crossroads but still a uniquely beautiful story. The chemistry between these two was on fire from the start and it was so sweet to see they open up slowly to each other with their “tell me a secret/tell me a lie” game.

I really appreciated that the accidental pregnancy was low angst and HOLY LORD did Jax ever step up to the plate for Sasha! I melted every single time he bided his time, cared for her and slowly made her fall in love with him and Montana. (Can I move there now? 🧳)

As always, Devney managed to infuse just the right amount of intrigue into the story that kept me ON THE EDGE guessing about Sasha’s past until the end. So many theories, so well done!

🎧 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼: The narration by Ava Erickson & Stephen Dexter was spectacular! I devoured this audiobook in a day and they kept me so captivated. Through the banter and spicy scenes, I loved the gruffness & grit that Shephen brought to Jax’s voice, while still keeping things tender during the softer/sweeter points of the book 👏🏻 Ava was the perfect narrator for Sasha - bringing a strong & sure voice to her character while also allowing some vulnerability to show through 💛

If you love handsome as hell cowboys, top shelf flirty banter, super touching moments and a undercurrent of suspense in your romances, I can’t recommend the audiobook of Sunlight enough!

The way I absolutely adored Jax and Sasha!

Sasha moves to Montana to escape secrets from her past. On her first day she meets Jax Haven, the most handsome man she'd ever seen. As an employee of the ranch he owns, he was off limits and a distraction she can't afford. But after the annual holiday party (and a few too many glasses of champagne) she ends up in his bed. A few weeks later she can no longer can ignore Jax...not after she's pregnant with his baby.

Being back in the fictional small towns that Devney creates is always a good time! I loved revisiting the characters from Haven River Ranch. Jax and Sasha becoming a couple after all the tension and chemistry they shared AND THEN finding out they were having a baby...gosh, it was just so sweet. The letters Sasha was writing to a man we only know as by his first name added a layer of mystery and suspense that I love to read in romance. I needed to know WHO she was writing to and WHAT was her big secret?? Loved that it kept me on the edge of my seat! Another sweet edition - their game of "tell me a secret / tell me a lie." These characters pulled at my heart strings and I just love the Haven family so much (yes, even Lily grew on me by the end.)

If you love a good small town cowboy romance, you have to read this series!

📍Montana, during Winter 🌨

I really enjoyed book 1 in this series (Crossroads), which was released in the summer, so I was very excited to read book 2!

This takes place 7 years after Crossroads, so it was lovely to see how that couple, West and Indya were doing.

I didn't realise this had the surprise pregnancy trope going in (which typically isn't my favourite), but watching Sasha and Jax fall in love while getting ready for their baby was lovely to see. There were some side plots going on (particularly with Sasha's brother), which I didn't quite understand, and that did take me out of the story a few times.

While I didn't enjoy this as much as Crossroads, it was still a solid release, and I'm excited to see where the series goes next!
