I already LOVE a small-town romance but when you add a grumpy cowboy into the mix, things are full steam ahead baby! Devney brings another beautiful story to Haven Ranch & I loved it!
The attraction between Jax & Sasha was almost instant. Jax is the brazen & cocky cowboy who doesn't seem to care a flip about settling down. He acts like a complete grump but inside he's nothing but mush. Total golden retriever & is so gone for this girl. Sasha is dealing with her own grief & secrets but it's not getting in the way of her being a strong & independent woman & I loved this aspect of her character.
After their grocery store meet cute, these two act like they can't stand each another. Working & livin in the same space seems like it's gonna be a bad idea. You're not prepared for the tension & build up between these guys. They've got sizzling chemistry & Perry lights the match on these two. Hot to trot!🔥🔥
I adored how these two actually became friends. They learned to confide & trust in one another & after a steamy night together & an unexpected pregnancy, there was NOTHING that was gonna keep this man away from HIS woman. His devotion & attentive ways literally melted my heart! Jax is so patient with Sasha as she slowly but surely lets her guard down & opens herself up to him. These two are electric with tender moments & playful banter that kept me glued to my earbuds.
There's such a great found family aspect to this series & I LOVED getting to see a glimpse into West & Indya's life. Jax is dealing with his own issues of resentment & loss. I think Sasha & the baby helped get his perspective on life & relationships back to where they needed to be. Both of these characters are vulnerable & strong and they are just so good for each other. Their healing & connection made their journey even better.
I don't know about ya'll but Deveny's got me wanting to move to Montana! The picturesque setting of Haven Ranch just makes it seem like a place I wanna be & I can't wait for the next book in the series.
🎧Let's talk narration...guys Ava is one of my favorites to listen to. She's got such a soft & sweet way with her voice that just makes me fall for every FMC she voices. She's absolutely wonderful as Sasha breathing life into her playful, vulnerable & sassy sides & you get all the emotions from her. Stephen Dexter is a GIANT among cowboys ya'll. He just knows how to bring a grumpy man to life & leave you beggin for more! He was absolutely perfect as Jax! Such a great listen!
Thank you Devney Perry, Valentine PR & Netgalley for a copy of the ALC. All thoughts are my own.

From their delightful grocery store meet cute to the sizzling chemistry that ignites between them, I enjoyed returning to Haven River Ranch for Jax and Sasha’s story! Holy hotness on the steamy scenes, Devney knows how to write ‘em!
Jax is such a standup guy, completely smitten with the vulnerable Sasha. His protective nature and genuine affection for her shine through, making him so endearing. Meanwhile, Sasha is a strong and fiercely independent character making do with next to nothing or no one, which adds depth and vulnerability.
Their connection is beautifully developed, and I found myself completely invested in their journey together. The balance of strength and vulnerability between the two was chefs kiss.

I can’t get enough of cowboy Stephen! Such a deliciously deep and grumpy yet bright tone and cadence. Ava brought all of Sasha guarded vulnerable but strong persona to life. A great listen!
4.5 ⭐️
ahhhhh this one was so so good!!! jax + sasha had such a cute meet cute & I was def kicking my feet!! once jax reveals himself to her, she goes tense and leaves him without another word. while jax is pining over her, turns out, she’s the new manager at the ranch, & Jax is technically one of her bosses, since he’s part owner. while they try to stay away from one another, one night happens, which then turns into two pink lines, oopsies 🤰🏼
I loved these characters & seeing the snippets of the characters from book one! Jax fell so down bad for sasha, & their connection was undeniable. Sometimes accidental pregnancy is a miss for me bc if the characters don’t have a connection outside of the pregnancy itself, the story falls flat for me and lacks depth. That was not the case here! I could feel their chemistry and connection through the audiobook!! The tension & longing? 100% present!!
One thing I love about this series is how there’s so much emotion!! it allows me to connect with the characters a lot more & I love the way Devney has taken their storyline! sasha was pretty guarded due to something from her past and it takes her a while to open up, but Jax was so patient with her. I truly felt they were meant to be!! There’s also a side character that we meet who goes through a lot & my heart broke for her. If Devney is hinting at adding another book to this series, she’s def who is want it to be about. Also the parents?! maybe gimme a novella 😭
I don’t want to give too much away but you’re going to want to pick this up immediately!!!
the narrators did a fantastic job with this one! I’ve begun to get a bit picky with my narrators, but Devney always hits it out of the park! I loved it so much & just about finished it in one sitting had I not started it so late & needed to finish it the next day!! thank you Valentine PR & Devney for letting me listen to an ALC of sunlight 💛

Listening to “Sunlight” by Devney Perry brought me right back to the world of Haven River Ranch.
TROPES
☀️Accidental Pregnancy
☀️Cowboy Romance
☀️He’s Her Boss
☀️Small Town
☀️Forced Proximity
☀️Workplace Romance
THE STORY: This second installment in the series follows Jax and Sasha, whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways.
“Sunlight” is set seven years into the future and approximately three months before the “Crossroads” epilogue.
Sasha’s pregnancy brings considerable changes to her relationship with Jax. Initially, Sasha is determined to maintain her independence and keep her emotional walls up. However, the news of her pregnancy forces her to confront her feelings and fears. Jax, committed to Sasha from the start, becomes even more supportive and patient, helping Sasha navigate this new chapter in their lives. This accidental pregnancy acts as a catalyst, deepening their bond and pushing them to address their pasts and their future together.
Jax’s character is definitely the standout in “Sunlight.” Though Sasha is relatable, I found I could not connect with her. Unfortunately, I can’t give you a specific reason because I can’t seem to put my finger on it.
THE AUDIO: The dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson brought Jax and Sasha to life, even though the story itself wasn’t nearly as emotional or gripping as “Crossroads.”
“Babe. Baby. Honey. Beautiful. Sweetheart. Jax didn’t use a single endearment. He used them all.”
FINAL THOUGHT: “Sunlight” is full of banter and tension with several moments of tenderness. While I personally favor “Crossroads,” “Sunlight” is still an easy and enjoyable listen/read.
“Sunlight” is available on Kindle Unlimited. Kindle Unlimited members can read and listen for free.
Enjoy!

Crossroads quickly rose to the top of my favorite books by Devney, and now after finishing Sunlight, this series has cemented itself as an all-time favorite. There is something really just so beautiful about these two stories and the emotion they invoke while simultaneously being the perfect small town romance vibes.
I adored Jax + Sasha, from quite literally their first interaction. Sasha had a fortress built around her heart and lived inside these walls to protect herself and let me tell you, Jax came ready to smash through them. They were exactly what the other needed, and there were so many moments that made my heart just melt. Do you know when you go to chuckle but it comes out as a sob? Yeah that happened a few times during this book. I still cannot get over the nicknames!!!! Darlin’!!!! Probably a personal opinion but GAH this one gets me. The audio was phenomenal, Stephen Dexter was the perfect Jax and Ava nailed Sasha’s reserved side but also her joyous moments. The audio is free with a KU membership too!!! While this story truly shined on its own, it almost felt like an epilogue to the series as a whole, and if you’re at all familiar with Devney’s books, she can SLAY an epilogue. The closure we got in so many aspects for the Havens and for Sasha herself, I was just a puddle of happy tears.
Please, if you have not yet read this series, I highly recommend you stop what you’re doing and immediately dive in. These books genuinely mean so much to me.
Devney Perry's books are seriously like magic! I absolutely adore her characters and the worlds she builds and Haven River Ranch did not disappoint - it feels so real, and I wish I could visit.
This book made me feel everything - tears, laughter, joy. Sasha’s humor makes her someone I’d be best friends with, and Jax with his support and devotion was just perfect. The "tell me a lie/tell me a secret" moments tugged at my heart and I could feel the love throughout, no matter the situation.
Narration:
Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter did such an amazing job with this audiobook! I was completely captivated!
Stephen brought the perfect balance of grit and warmth to Jax’s character, making the emotional and tender moments stand out. Ava’s narration for Sasha was perfect - strong and confident, yet with just the right touch of vulnerability. Their performances made the banter and steamy scenes even more engaging!
Even though accidental pregnancy isn’t my favorite trope, Devney Perry always nails it!!
“Tell me a lie.”
“I don’t want you to kiss me.”
“Tell me a secret.”
“I always want you to kiss me”

Sunlight
Haven River Ranch • Book 2️⃣
By: Devney Perry
Narrated By: Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson
What a cute small town romance. Jax Haven a hard working rancher raised on his family’s ranch and Sasha a FMC determined to stick to herself, make money and do what she needs to do while living in a new town. Jax and Sasha had an instant attraction but the moment she found out he was part owner of the ranch she was going to start working at, all of that went down the drain, Sasha was not about to get involved with anyone right now, especially someone she works with, and then… one steamy night changes all of that and she is now involved in Jax’s life in a bigger way than she could have ever imagined. I loved the way that even with all of the space these two continue to put in between each other they still ended right back in each other’s arms. Jax was a gem of a man, he stepped up in ways a loving man does, even when she continued to push him away he knew the right things to say, the right way to calm Sasha and the right way to get into her heart. Sasha was stubborn at times, struggling with past secrets that hindered her to let any walls down but Jax came in with open arms and ready to navigate anything she was dealing with. I loved the family and friends in this book, the small town and absolutely LOVED having our past favorites West & Indya back in the mix of it all too.
Stephen Dexter & Ava Erickson narrate Sunlight in dual, giving us all the extra emotions. Stephen has this deep growley voice perfect for Jax yet was able to bring out the absolute most adoring tones showing off how much he cares for Sasha. Ava had that perfect tone to express the worry and guilt she was carrying with her everyday making us feel the emotions of why she won’t let Jax in easily. I loved the moment Sasha dropped those walls and Ava was able to bring the gentle emotions and love that she truly had for Jax and the life they were creating out through her voice.
And the epilogue OMG absolutely adorable
Thank You @valentine_pr_ for the opportunity to listen and review.
3.5⭐️ I loved book 1 and couldn’t wait to be back in Haven River Ranch. Jax and Sasha had tension from the start that led to a bunch of banter. Underneath it all there was definitely chemistry it just took them a little both a little to admit it. The narrators really were perfect for both of their characters. I loved Jax. He was caring, sweet and gave his all for those he loves. Sasha has her guard up but really starts to open up and give everyone a chance to be part of her life too. These two had great character development and with the surprise pregnancy i enjoyed that they were both all in together as a team. I loved their “tell me a lie” and “tell me a secret” to learn more about each other and how it became their thing.
Unfortunately I wished I loved their story more. There were just small things that didn’t work for me especially the secret. I just wish it was part of the story more, I thought it would have made a great addition to it. I still enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what is to come for the series!
Since finding her books earlier this year, Devney Perry has become one of my all time favorite authors. If she writes it, I’m sure as heck buying it no matter what. I’ve loved every single one of her books that I’ve read and Sunlight? Devney freaking SLAYED it.
I don’t know what it is about the accidental pregnancy trope, but I am feral for it. And this book? Devney did it SO well!! Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter did a phenomenal job bringing Sasha and Jax to life. I felt every emotion and was fully immersed in their unexpected journey to parenthood.
From the very first chapter I was obsessed with Sasha and Jax. I could not, like seriously could not, stop smiling at their meet cute. The chemistry between them was so good and their banter? Perfection. I could not get enough of it and it made me ridiculously giddy. When Sasha finds out Jax is her soon to be boss, she puts up her walls and does all that she can to ignore the handsome cowboy. However, one night changes everything and she can no longer ignore him. Sasha is determined to keep her walls up and be independent, but Jax is there for her. He’s patient and so caring, but he’s also not one to hold back how he feels. Seeing them form such a deep connection and opening up to one another was beautiful. And when Jax opened up about Lily? Gosh did my heart break and the dams broke loose. This book seriously made me feel all the emotions and I loved every single second of it.
Book 2 in the Haven River Ranch series is here! In book one, we got to follow West and Indya's story. In book two, we dive into Jax and Sasha's story. While there is some overlap, these can be read as standalone books.
I loved Jax's heart and protective nature 💛 and I could relate to Sasha's reservations and attempts to protect her heart. Watching their love story unfold and seeing them find so much common ground in their past was so sweet. I love how they helped each other heal. I got to listen to this on audiobook and I loved the narrators, they matched the characters perfectly!
Sunlight is the kind of romance that pulls you in and doesn’t let go and I was hooked from the moment Sasha ends up in a hilarious tug-of-war over a grocery cart with a stranger. Enter Jax Haven—the rugged, dreamy cowboy who isn’t just handsome but also happens to be tied to her new job.
The chemistry between them is undeniable from the start, and their banter is super fun. Watching the Sasha try to resist her obvious crush on Jax is both hilarious and heartwarming. And when things get serious (hello, surprise pregnancy!), you really feel for them as they navigate the complicated, unexpected turns life throws their way.
Devney Perry has single handedly convinced me that a trip to Montana is must. The way she describes Haven River Ranch had me falling in love with Montana right alongside Sasha.
Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson did a phenomenal job bringing Jax and Sasha to life. Listening to their chemistry unfold was such a treat. You really feel the tension and the flirty moments, and when things get serious, the emotion in their voices pulls you right in.
Overall, Sunlight is perfect if you’re in the mood for a heartfelt romance with lots of sparks, some laughs, and just the right amount of drama. 💕
This is book 2 in the Haven River Ranch series and after reading CROSSROADS I knew I had to read Jax’s book! I flew through this audiobook. I enjoyed the journey of Sasha and Jax falling in love and I loved Jax in this one. He was so loving and adored Sasha from the moment he met her. Sasha had her guard up, but their chemistry and tension was strong! There were so many tender and heartwarming moments.
One of my favorite parts of this book was the “tell me a lie/ tell me a secret” aspect - my heart 😍 I am also one who doesn’t mind an accidental pregnancy trope and this one was so sweet and healing. The ending just made me smile!

Sunlight
Author: Devney Perry
Rating: 5⭐️
I absolutely LOVED this book. I loved Jax and Sasha so much. I loved how they never gave up on each other even though it definitely would have been easier to do that. I loved the healing journey that both of them went on from the different traumas they had both faced.
I have loved every single one of @devneyperry’s cowboy romances. She just knows exactly what to do. Then you through in an accidental pregnancy (another one of her specialties) and it’s an instant five star for me.
I loved every time we had a scene with “Tell me a lie. Tell me a secret.” It was their way of opening up to each other. When they said “I love you” had my heart melting.
Devney definitely had me guessing with the whole Eddie situation. Let’s just say I loved the way it ended with him!
5 Star Review Sunlight (Haven River Ranch 2) by Devney Perry
Ebook/Audio:
This was an entertaining small town story that ticked all the boxes for me. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that was told. Jax Haven and Sasha were easy to relate to and I really liked them.
The chemistry between them was strong and I found myself laughing out loud on a number of occasions. Both Jax and Sasha have not had easy lives and I felt for the at times.
Narrated by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson who certainly brought the story to life for me. Their voices are easy to listen to and they did justice to the story that Ms. Perry wrote.
Jax Haven is known as a playboy around town, and hasn’t had to work hard to have a few fun nights with women. When he overhears a heated discussion in the grocery store parking lot between the store owner and a beautiful stranger, he steps in to play white knight. When the stranger turns him down
Sasha is the new manager at Haven River Ranch, hired to take over the hotel while India is on maternity leave. Though there is immediate chemistry with Jax, she locks it up when she learns who he is. She has reasons for being in Montana, but hates so much about it as she tries to settle into her new home, new town, and new situation.
I loved the way this story progressed. Jax and Sasha started with quick, flirty banter that was shut down as soon as Sasha learned that Jax was effectively her new boss. The slow burn that built even as she did her best to keep distance between them kept the tension rising. There was a slight mystery running through Sasha’s storyline and I enjoyed trying to figure out the connection and how that thread was going to play out.
The unexpected pregnancy added a depth to this story that was perfect for what both Jax and Sasha were dealing with as far as their own family dynamics go. I loved Sasha’s feelings about the future and loved watching as she let down her walls for Jax as the pregnancy progressed.
Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson narrated this story fantastically. I listened to this book early and even relistened to portions and loved every minute of it. As a follow on to Crossroads, I loved returning to Haven River Ranch with some time elapsed between books. Seeing West and India settled down was a nice addition and something I always look forward to in Devney’s continuing series. I can’t wait for more from this family!

I’ve been looking forward to Jax’s story!
This was a great swoony story with drama, angst, and mystery. I enjoy accidental pregnancy tropes, and Devney Perry does them so well.
Jax and Sasha have great chemistry from the start. Their meet cute out the local grocery store so funny and the flirt game is strong. That is until she realizes he’s her boss and one of the resort owners she's about to work for. She pushes him away until one night she gives in. That one night changes everything and now they are going to be parents together.
Jax and Sasha are perfect together! They are both beautiful complicated souls who are battling with things from their past. Jax is so present and accepting of his new upcoming roll as a Dad. He incredibly patient with Sasha and her secrets. Sasha incredibly strong with everything she's had to deal with. She's there for Jax and his demons.
This story will make you swoon, blush, and possible tear up.
🎧- Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson were perfect narrators for this story.
Thank you Valentine PR and Devney Perry for this ALC!!
As we return to the Haven River Ranch we are once again in the company of Jax and West Haven, brothers and co-owners of the ranch resort.
An impromptu meeting with a stranger in town is cut abruptly short when said stranger discovers Jax's identity.
Sasha turns out to be the new manager of the ranch and she's put herself in a 'no go' area, especially for Jax.
In true romance novel style though, things don't quite go to plan and an unexpected pregnancy is the result.
The story of Sasha and Jax is beautiful in its vulnerabilities. Neither of our main characters have had it easy, albeit for very different reasons but Jax is invested in a new life with Sasha and the baby even when she's not so sure of the whole thing!
I really enjoyed this book, especially the banter between our MCs - the audio version (especially as we can listen and read) was sensational with the dialogue scenes bringing
the story, the anxiety and the vulnerabilities of each character right to the fore.
Is the Haven River Ranch series really finished or can we anticipate more 'love on the range' in the future? One can only keep hoping!
Tell me a lie… breakfast isn’t dinner food.
Bold face lie. And that's precisely when I fell for West Haven; when he declared breakfast for dinner is top tier comfort food.
Cross Roads was my first Devney Perry book and I quickly dove into her backlist. When I got an early ALC of Sunlight I audibly yelped… I love me a small town romance, what can I say?!
I definitely missed the part of the advertising for this book that told us we got an accidental pregnancy so imagine my face when all of a sudden Sasha finds herself knocked-up. I was shooketh.. But in the best way!
I love when books throw a baby as us. As a mom I recognize there is absolutely nothing harder than being a mom. Add that into a small town romance book and i will gobble that shit up.. And gobble i did.
Sasha is the most reluctant FMC I have encountered in a while and poor Jax just wants to love her, like he's borderline obsessed with her and ready to just wrap her into his life forever as soon as she says the word.
I love how this one played out, giving us a longer timeline that other books, making their developing relationships seem more realistic. Nothing felt forced, it was all just so natural and I am already thinking about going back and rereading this when my physical copy comes in… I mean look how pretty that cover is. How could I not order a copy for my shelf?!
I have only read 2 Devney Perry books but it’s official. Count me in as part of the “If Devney Perry Writes It, I Will Read It” club because I loved this book.
After meeting Jax is the first Haven River Ranch book, I was excited to see where his story was gonna go. The banter between the main characters is off the charts right from the beginning of the book. There was never a moment when I wasn’t rooting for them.
- small town
- cowboy romance
- forced proximity
- accidental pregnancy
- he falls first
Usually, any book that has any kind of pregnancy or single mom/dad trope is a no go for me, but for Devney I will make an exception. It was well written and never once made me feel like the main love story was taking a backseat to the pregnancy.
I really hope there are many more Haven River Ranch books coming because I adore this series.
5 Having the Unexpected Happen Stars!!
I’ve been a devotee of Devney Perry’s books since she released her very first book. Not only have I read all of them, multiple times, but I’ve listened to almost all of them as well. Having said this, Sunlight has literally jumped into my Top 5 of Devney’s books. I loved Sasha and Jax so much.
They have a true meet cute in the parking lot of the local grocery store, when Sasha first moves to town and I immediately was hooked! Little did either of them know that their futures were soon going to be linked together permanently even if Sasha did everything she could to avoid this sexy as sin cowboy who’s kind of her boss, but not really.
Jax is a man on a mission when it comes to Sasha and after all their encounters that included some fabulous witty banter and chemistry that’s just crackling, the ultimate happens and there’s a little gift headed their way in nine months!
This book is a little bit of a rollercoaster ride. There’s some secondary characters that grabbed my heart and there were a few times that my heart. And when some secrets are revealed it almost hurt worse than I thought possible. Sasha is a woman that is focused and determined in this life that she’s building at Haven River Ranch and falling in love wasn’t at the top of her list. But when you’ve got to fall, Jax is the perfect man to catch you!
In this book we also get a little bit more of background on the Haven family and so many things make sense, although they hurt at the same time. This book is filled with forgiveness and healing which I absolutely adored.
I was lucky enough to listen to the amazing Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter narrate this book and oh my stars, I was captivated by them bringing every character and scene to life! There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be reading and/or listening to this book again and again!
