This series just keeps getting better and better! I've been a huge fan of ๐๐๐ฏ๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ'๐ฌ writing for a long time. She stole my heart with Jupiter Hill and I haven't been the same since! Her ability to write vulnerable characters is so unique. Ones that find a safe place in each other in a beautiful found family way. And this book was exactly that!

๐๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ and ๐๐๐ฑ might have been complete opposites in most ways. But they were the perfect example of opposites attract. He was messy, cocky, and a HUGE part of his small town. While Sasha was organized, quiet, and withdrawn! But even though they were total opposites they both brought out something beautiful in each other. And that was only amplified when they were brought together even closer when Sasha fell pregnant.
Jax was one swoony observant cowboy! He had it bad for Sasha from the very beginning without even realizing it. I LOVED the way this man watched her! Noting every expression she made and what it meant. Like the way her features changed when she lied or when she was nervous. It was ADORABLE! He also knew exactly when she was too far in her head and was beginning to spiral and how to center her and put her focus on something else. I couldn't get enough of his swoony cowboy ways. Every time this man said "๐๐๐ก๐ก ๐ข๐ ๐ ๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ" I melted. Beautifully done Devney!!

Sasha's character was so special. I absolutely loved her from the very start. She had such a gentle nature. And Devney did such a great job of bringing that side out. I loved getting to know more and more about her. We knew she was holding back a lot of secrets. And the more I learned the more I loved her character. She was so selfless. Life hadn't been the kindest to her, but she still stayed so strong and beautifully humble.
Devney did such an incredible job on their relationship. From the very start, the push and pull they had going on!! I couldn't put this book down, especially once Jax became determined to win Sasha's heart and make her fall in love with Montana! I was obsessed!!

One thing that really stood out to me in this book was Sasha's adamancy about the baby never being labeled as an accident. And the way that Jax could relate to that feeling! It was so well conveyed. And the way I could ๐
๐๐๐ Sasha's emotions every time it was mentioned. Ahh. It was perfect!
If you're looking for a series with some sexy cowboys who are determined to win over the hearts of the FMCs in the most swoon-worthy way, this series is for you!!

I love these two narrators so much. But I'm not sure I've ever heard them do a book together! And my gosh! We need more of these two performing together! There was just something about Stephen playing a swoony cocky cowboy that had me completely captivated! He did such an incredible job as Jax!! Ava played Sasha and she truly did her character justice! Ava's ability to play such a vulnerable female character is one of my favorites! It was so well done. I loved it. This audiobook was beautiful. And that's really the only way to describe it.

I loved coming back to Haven River Ranch. Sunlight is Book 2 in the series. This is Jax and Sasha's story. On Sasha's first day in Montana she gets in a tug-of-war over a grocery shopping cart. Enter Jax. He comes to help with the scuffle. Sparks fly and he asks Sasha on a date, but when she finds out his name she declines. He happens to be her new boss at her new work. So on her first day at the job she pretends he's a stranger. She avoids him at all costs until the holiday party where they spend the night together. Weeks later she finds out she's pregnant with Jax's baby.
Jax and Sasha's meet cute was so funny and unexpected! Loved how Jax was a gentleman and stepped up to diffuse the situation. I immediately felt the electric chemistry between them. It was a short encounter, but I loved how they asked eachother questions to break the awkwardness. I loved how their relationship progressed naturally even with the pregnancy it brought them closer.
As for the audiobook narration, it was fantastic! Performed in dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson. These two were amazing as always. Stephen does grumpy so well. He brought out Jax's charm and he exuded Jax's patience and care with Sasha. As for Ava, she portrayed Sasha with a cool and calm tone. She gave that lightheartedness that Sasha had. Together they brought out the bickering and playfulness between Jax and Sasha.
my god devney does accidental pregnancy SO well! I was sooooo excited for this book after reading crossroads and this did not disappoint! I hope we get more from this series!

Tell me a secret โ I love you
Set against the beautiful background of Montanaโs mountains, six years or so after the first book, the Haven River Ranch series continues with Jax Havenโs story and if you thought West had a rough ride, you ainโt seen nothing yet. When Jax rescued a beautiful woman from a fight over a shopping trolley he had no idea that within a year his world would be turned on its head. Instantly attracted to Sasha, he walked her home, flirting all the way until he gave her his name and things went cold. Sasha as it turns out was the new manager at the resort and for her own reasons couldnโt risk putting her job at risk by dating one of the bosses, something she held true to, despite the temptation until too much champagne one night led to the inevitable in more ways than one.
When I see Devney Perryโs name on a book I know Iโm in for a treat, this author has a knack of creating characters you canโt help but care for and with Sunlight what an angsty and emotional tale it was for Sasha and Jax. Slow paced, the story wrung every emotion from this reader, and I loved the slowburn development of their relationship as they got to know each other through a game of secrets and lies. Sasha just seemed such a lonely character with no friends. She was a girl burdened with secrets and guilt ridden over decisions sheโd had to make when she was little more than a child while Jax carried his own pain over his motherโs behaviour towards him and I loved Sashaโs instant defence of him when she found out. Added to the story was the mystery of just who Eddie the recipient of Sashaโs letters was and his connection to her. With a beautiful epilogue to round off their story I canโt wait to return Haven River Ranch.
Devney Perry is back with Sunlight, another completely captivating small-town cowboy romance in the Haven River Ranch series. Sizzling with electric chemistry and rich in emotional depth, this story focuses on Jax, the charming playboy ranch owner, and Sasha, the resortโs new manager. The two are thrown into a forbidden workplace romance following their one night stand that results in an unexpected surprise. The slow-burn tension between them builds beautifully, blending passion with emotional complexity as their relationship unfolds.
I listened to the audiobook, performed in dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson, who both turned in stellar performances. Stephen Dexterโs rendition of Jax was perfection, Ava Ericksonโs Sasha was wonderfully vulnerable and understandably cautious, and their natural chemistry brought this couple to life in my ears. Perry's storytelling is both heartfelt and steamy resulting in an authentic and magnetic connection. Perry delivers yet another engaging, well-crafted cowboy romance brimming with heart and heat set in her beloved Montana! Five smooches from me for Sunlight by Devney Perry!

If you haven't visited the Haven River Ranch yet...this is your sign that it's time to saddle up and get on that horse!
I will start by saying I fell in love with Jax's older bro in the first book "Crossroads" (go read it if you haven't yet!), thus Sunlight was an automatic read for me and it did not disappoint as I messaged my bestie telling her I was starting it that morning and listened straight through!
This story has humor and good chemistry front the the word go! Plus a lot of healing and really good
'feel good' vibes throughout! I don't always get invested in the back story of characters, but loved the inner struggles both of the MCs worked through from their childhoods and felt they were really done justice! (without giving anything away!) Plus she snuck in a little mystery again...this one being a character...keeping me on my toes, back and forth trying to solve it throughout!
And I want to also give big kudos to Devney as Sasha and Jax have changed my feelings on the accidental pregnancy trope...as it's a trope I normally do not gravitate towards and walked away feeling like a changed woman on that front! She nailed it!
Bonus- felt like a gift getting to meet some new characters that gave us a glimpse into past characters from Crossroads current lives!! Giving me all the feels!

For my fellow audiobook junkies, Ava Erickson is one of my favorite female narrators! Her and the male narrator did a stellar job bringing this story to life!
Huge thank you to Devney Perry and Valentine PR for the ALC of Sunlight in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.
Never met a Devney Perry book I didn't like! She especially does surprise pregnancy so well and this was no different.
I loved Jax and Sasha! They were so sweet together but also Jax had me cracking up at times haha. And also knew what he was doing with the spicy spice. I loved how they met and thought the workplace romance aspects were perfect. Sasha especially didn't want to give in since he was her boss, but of course she couldn't deny their chemistry!
I loved Jax and how he weaved his way into her heart lol. I adored their lies and secrets so so much and how they got to know each other. Those were definitely some of my favorite parts of the book!
I also enjoyed that this wasn't just about the pregnancy. Obviously it was still a big part of the story and I loved how Jax wanted to protect and take care of her. But there was still such a great focus on growing their relationship.
I also liked the little subplots we got with both of their families. Sasha's family had some mystery to them and I thought all of that was great. And I loved seeing Jax with his brother and work through things with his family too.
I have just loved the vibes of this series on the ranch. This series is some of Devney's best work and I'm sad that it's only two books! I feel like it set up another book pretty well, so here's to hoping we get more. The audio was absolutely perfect. Loved this!

What a phenomenal second book for the Haven River Ranch series!! I may not be a big accidental pregnancy reader, but when itโs done right like this, it makes for the SWEETEST & SPICIEST story!
I loved Jax & Sasha! Reading Sunlight felt so nostalgic, with the feel of Crossroads but still a uniquely beautiful story. The chemistry between these two was on fire from the start and it was so sweet to see they open up slowly to each other with their โtell me a secret/tell me a lieโ game.
I really appreciated that the accidental pregnancy was low angst and HOLY LORD did Jax ever step up to the plate for Sasha! I melted every single time he bided his time, cared for her and slowly made her fall in love with him and Montana. (Can I move there now? ๐งณ)
As always, Devney managed to infuse just the right amount of intrigue into the story that kept me ON THE EDGE guessing about Sashaโs past until the end. So many theories, so well done!
๐ง ๐๐ฒ๐โ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ธ ๐ฎ๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐ผ: The narration by Ava Erickson & Stephen Dexter was spectacular! I devoured this audiobook in a day and they kept me so captivated. Through the banter and spicy scenes, I loved the gruffness & grit that Shephen brought to Jaxโs voice, while still keeping things tender during the softer/sweeter points of the book ๐๐ป Ava was the perfect narrator for Sasha - bringing a strong & sure voice to her character while also allowing some vulnerability to show through ๐
If you love handsome as hell cowboys, top shelf flirty banter, super touching moments and a undercurrent of suspense in your romances, I canโt recommend the audiobook of Sunlight enough!
The way I absolutely adored Jax and Sasha!
Sasha moves to Montana to escape secrets from her past. On her first day she meets Jax Haven, the most handsome man she'd ever seen. As an employee of the ranch he owns, he was off limits and a distraction she can't afford. But after the annual holiday party (and a few too many glasses of champagne) she ends up in his bed. A few weeks later she can no longer can ignore Jax...not after she's pregnant with his baby.
Being back in the fictional small towns that Devney creates is always a good time! I loved revisiting the characters from Haven River Ranch. Jax and Sasha becoming a couple after all the tension and chemistry they shared AND THEN finding out they were having a baby...gosh, it was just so sweet. The letters Sasha was writing to a man we only know as by his first name added a layer of mystery and suspense that I love to read in romance. I needed to know WHO she was writing to and WHAT was her big secret?? Loved that it kept me on the edge of my seat! Another sweet edition - their game of "tell me a secret / tell me a lie." These characters pulled at my heart strings and I just love the Haven family so much (yes, even Lily grew on me by the end.)
If you love a good small town cowboy romance, you have to read this series!

I really enjoyed book 1 in this series (Crossroads), which was released in the summer, so I was very excited to read book 2!
This takes place 7 years after Crossroads, so it was lovely to see how that couple, West and Indya were doing.
I didn't realise this had the surprise pregnancy trope going in (which typically isn't my favourite), but watching Sasha and Jax fall in love while getting ready for their baby was lovely to see. There were some side plots going on (particularly with Sasha's brother), which I didn't quite understand, and that did take me out of the story a few times.
While I didn't enjoy this as much as Crossroads, it was still a solid release, and I'm excited to see where the series goes next!
I already LOVE a small-town romance but when you add a grumpy cowboy into the mix, things are full steam ahead baby! Devney brings another beautiful story to Haven Ranch & I loved it!
The attraction between Jax & Sasha was almost instant. Jax is the brazen & cocky cowboy who doesn't seem to care a flip about settling down. He acts like a complete grump but inside he's nothing but mush. Total golden retriever & is so gone for this girl. Sasha is dealing with her own grief & secrets but it's not getting in the way of her being a strong & independent woman & I loved this aspect of her character.
After their grocery store meet cute, these two act like they can't stand each another. Working & livin in the same space seems like it's gonna be a bad idea. You're not prepared for the tension & build up between these guys. They've got sizzling chemistry & Perry lights the match on these two. Hot to trot!๐ฅ๐ฅ
I adored how these two actually became friends. They learned to confide & trust in one another & after a steamy night together & an unexpected pregnancy, there was NOTHING that was gonna keep this man away from HIS woman. His devotion & attentive ways literally melted my heart! Jax is so patient with Sasha as she slowly but surely lets her guard down & opens herself up to him. These two are electric with tender moments & playful banter that kept me glued to my earbuds.
There's such a great found family aspect to this series & I LOVED getting to see a glimpse into West & Indya's life. Jax is dealing with his own issues of resentment & loss. I think Sasha & the baby helped get his perspective on life & relationships back to where they needed to be. Both of these characters are vulnerable & strong and they are just so good for each other. Their healing & connection made their journey even better.
I don't know about ya'll but Deveny's got me wanting to move to Montana! The picturesque setting of Haven Ranch just makes it seem like a place I wanna be & I can't wait for the next book in the series.
๐งLet's talk narration...guys Ava is one of my favorites to listen to. She's got such a soft & sweet way with her voice that just makes me fall for every FMC she voices. She's absolutely wonderful as Sasha breathing life into her playful, vulnerable & sassy sides & you get all the emotions from her. Stephen Dexter is a GIANT among cowboys ya'll. He just knows how to bring a grumpy man to life & leave you beggin for more! He was absolutely perfect as Jax! Such a great listen!
Thank you Devney Perry, Valentine PR & Netgalley for a copy of the ALC. All thoughts are my own.

From their delightful grocery store meet cute to the sizzling chemistry that ignites between them, I enjoyed returning to Haven River Ranch for Jax and Sashaโs story! Holy hotness on the steamy scenes, Devney knows how to write โem!
Jax is such a standup guy, completely smitten with the vulnerable Sasha. His protective nature and genuine affection for her shine through, making him so endearing. Meanwhile, Sasha is a strong and fiercely independent character making do with next to nothing or no one, which adds depth and vulnerability.
Their connection is beautifully developed, and I found myself completely invested in their journey together. The balance of strength and vulnerability between the two was chefs kiss.

ahhhhh this one was so so good!!! jax + sasha had such a cute meet cute & I was def kicking my feet!! once jax reveals himself to her, she goes tense and leaves him without another word. while jax is pining over her, turns out, sheโs the new manager at the ranch, & Jax is technically one of her bosses, since heโs part owner. while they try to stay away from one another, one night happens, which then turns into two pink lines, oopsies ๐คฐ๐ผ
I loved these characters & seeing the snippets of the characters from book one! Jax fell so down bad for sasha, & their connection was undeniable. Sometimes accidental pregnancy is a miss for me bc if the characters donโt have a connection outside of the pregnancy itself, the story falls flat for me and lacks depth. That was not the case here! I could feel their chemistry and connection through the audiobook!! The tension & longing? 100% present!!
One thing I love about this series is how thereโs so much emotion!! it allows me to connect with the characters a lot more & I love the way Devney has taken their storyline! sasha was pretty guarded due to something from her past and it takes her a while to open up, but Jax was so patient with her. I truly felt they were meant to be!! Thereโs also a side character that we meet who goes through a lot & my heart broke for her. If Devney is hinting at adding another book to this series, sheโs def who is want it to be about. Also the parents?! maybe gimme a novella ๐ญ
I donโt want to give too much away but youโre going to want to pick this up immediately!!!
the narrators did a fantastic job with this one! Iโve begun to get a bit picky with my narrators, but Devney always hits it out of the park! I loved it so much & just about finished it in one sitting had I not started it so late & needed to finish it the next day!! thank you Valentine PR & Devney for letting me listen to an ALC of sunlight ๐

THE STORY: This second installment in the series follows Jax and Sasha, whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways.
โSunlightโ is set seven years into the future and approximately three months before the โCrossroadsโ epilogue.
Sashaโs pregnancy brings considerable changes to her relationship with Jax. Initially, Sasha is determined to maintain her independence and keep her emotional walls up. However, the news of her pregnancy forces her to confront her feelings and fears. Jax, committed to Sasha from the start, becomes even more supportive and patient, helping Sasha navigate this new chapter in their lives. This accidental pregnancy acts as a catalyst, deepening their bond and pushing them to address their pasts and their future together.
Jaxโs character is definitely the standout in โSunlight.โ Though Sasha is relatable, I found I could not connect with her. Unfortunately, I canโt give you a specific reason because I canโt seem to put my finger on it.
THE AUDIO: The dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson brought Jax and Sasha to life, even though the story itself wasnโt nearly as emotional or gripping as โCrossroads.โ
โBabe. Baby. Honey. Beautiful. Sweetheart. Jax didnโt use a single endearment. He used them all.โ
FINAL THOUGHT: โSunlightโ is full of banter and tension with several moments of tenderness. While I personally favor โCrossroads,โ โSunlightโ is still an easy and enjoyable listen/read.
โSunlightโ is available on Kindle Unlimited. Kindle Unlimited members can read and listen for free.

Crossroads quickly rose to the top of my favorite books by Devney, and now after finishing Sunlight, this series has cemented itself as an all-time favorite. There is something really just so beautiful about these two stories and the emotion they invoke while simultaneously being the perfect small town romance vibes.
I adored Jax + Sasha, from quite literally their first interaction. Sasha had a fortress built around her heart and lived inside these walls to protect herself and let me tell you, Jax came ready to smash through them. They were exactly what the other needed, and there were so many moments that made my heart just melt. Do you know when you go to chuckle but it comes out as a sob? Yeah that happened a few times during this book. I still cannot get over the nicknames!!!! Darlinโ!!!! Probably a personal opinion but GAH this one gets me. The audio was phenomenal, Stephen Dexter was the perfect Jax and Ava nailed Sashaโs reserved side but also her joyous moments. The audio is free with a KU membership too!!! While this story truly shined on its own, it almost felt like an epilogue to the series as a whole, and if youโre at all familiar with Devneyโs books, she can SLAY an epilogue. The closure we got in so many aspects for the Havens and for Sasha herself, I was just a puddle of happy tears.
Please, if you have not yet read this series, I highly recommend you stop what youโre doing and immediately dive in. These books genuinely mean so much to me.
Devney Perry's books are seriously like magic! I absolutely adore her characters and the worlds she builds and Haven River Ranch did not disappoint - it feels so real, and I wish I could visit.
This book made me feel everything - tears, laughter, joy. Sashaโs humor makes her someone Iโd be best friends with, and Jax with his support and devotion was just perfect. The "tell me a lie/tell me a secret" moments tugged at my heart and I could feel the love throughout, no matter the situation.
Narration:
Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter did such an amazing job with this audiobook! I was completely captivated!
Stephen brought the perfect balance of grit and warmth to Jaxโs character, making the emotional and tender moments stand out. Avaโs narration for Sasha was perfect - strong and confident, yet with just the right touch of vulnerability. Their performances made the banter and steamy scenes even more engaging!
Even though accidental pregnancy isnโt my favorite trope, Devney Perry always nails it!!

Sunlight
Haven River Ranch โข Book 2๏ธโฃ
By: Devney Perry
Narrated By: Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson
What a cute small town romance. Jax Haven a hard working rancher raised on his familyโs ranch and Sasha a FMC determined to stick to herself, make money and do what she needs to do while living in a new town. Jax and Sasha had an instant attraction but the moment she found out he was part owner of the ranch she was going to start working at, all of that went down the drain, Sasha was not about to get involved with anyone right now, especially someone she works with, and thenโฆ one steamy night changes all of that and she is now involved in Jaxโs life in a bigger way than she could have ever imagined. I loved the way that even with all of the space these two continue to put in between each other they still ended right back in each otherโs arms. Jax was a gem of a man, he stepped up in ways a loving man does, even when she continued to push him away he knew the right things to say, the right way to calm Sasha and the right way to get into her heart. Sasha was stubborn at times, struggling with past secrets that hindered her to let any walls down but Jax came in with open arms and ready to navigate anything she was dealing with. I loved the family and friends in this book, the small town and absolutely LOVED having our past favorites West & Indya back in the mix of it all too.
Stephen Dexter & Ava Erickson narrate Sunlight in dual, giving us all the extra emotions. Stephen has this deep growley voice perfect for Jax yet was able to bring out the absolute most adoring tones showing off how much he cares for Sasha. Ava had that perfect tone to express the worry and guilt she was carrying with her everyday making us feel the emotions of why she wonโt let Jax in easily. I loved the moment Sasha dropped those walls and Ava was able to bring the gentle emotions and love that she truly had for Jax and the life they were creating out through her voice.
And the epilogue OMG absolutely adorable
Thank You @valentine_pr_ for the opportunity to listen and review.
3.5โญ๏ธ I loved book 1 and couldnโt wait to be back in Haven River Ranch. Jax and Sasha had tension from the start that led to a bunch of banter. Underneath it all there was definitely chemistry it just took them a little both a little to admit it. The narrators really were perfect for both of their characters. I loved Jax. He was caring, sweet and gave his all for those he loves. Sasha has her guard up but really starts to open up and give everyone a chance to be part of her life too. These two had great character development and with the surprise pregnancy i enjoyed that they were both all in together as a team. I loved their โtell me a lieโ and โtell me a secretโ to learn more about each other and how it became their thing.
Unfortunately I wished I loved their story more. There were just small things that didnโt work for me especially the secret. I just wish it was part of the story more, I thought it would have made a great addition to it. I still enjoyed it and canโt wait to see what is to come for the series!
Since finding her books earlier this year, Devney Perry has become one of my all time favorite authors. If she writes it, Iโm sure as heck buying it no matter what. Iโve loved every single one of her books that Iโve read and Sunlight? Devney freaking SLAYED it.
I donโt know what it is about the accidental pregnancy trope, but I am feral for it. And this book? Devney did it SO well!! Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter did a phenomenal job bringing Sasha and Jax to life. I felt every emotion and was fully immersed in their unexpected journey to parenthood.
From the very first chapter I was obsessed with Sasha and Jax. I could not, like seriously could not, stop smiling at their meet cute. The chemistry between them was so good and their banter? Perfection. I could not get enough of it and it made me ridiculously giddy. When Sasha finds out Jax is her soon to be boss, she puts up her walls and does all that she can to ignore the handsome cowboy. However, one night changes everything and she can no longer ignore him. Sasha is determined to keep her walls up and be independent, but Jax is there for her. Heโs patient and so caring, but heโs also not one to hold back how he feels. Seeing them form such a deep connection and opening up to one another was beautiful. And when Jax opened up about Lily? Gosh did my heart break and the dams broke loose. This book seriously made me feel all the emotions and I loved every single second of it.
Book 2 in the Haven River Ranch series is here! In book one, we got to follow West and Indya's story. In book two, we dive into Jax and Sasha's story. While there is some overlap, these can be read as standalone books.
I loved Jax's heart and protective nature ๐ and I could relate to Sasha's reservations and attempts to protect her heart. Watching their love story unfold and seeing them find so much common ground in their past was so sweet. I love how they helped each other heal. I got to listen to this on audiobook and I loved the narrators, they matched the characters perfectly!
