Vibes:
Such a swoony cowboy romance. I love this small town playboy turned completely obsessed over the new manager. She captured his attention from the start despite being completely guarded and professional. Months of chipping away at her tough exterior leads to a huge “surprise.”
Jax is all the best - a little broken, definitely playful, and all in when it comes to Sasha. He’s so supportive, generous, and protective-you’ll 100% be swooning.
Sasha was a tougher FMC to enjoy. For most of the book her secrets made her too distant, but when she opened up - I LOVED her. She finally let herself lean on those around her and it’s absolutely beautiful.

Audio Notes:
Good performances by both narrators. There were only a few moments that the tone didn’t elicit enough emotion or spice. I would still highly recommend this audiobook to contemporary romance listeners.

All the small town romance readers who want a surprise (not accidental) pregnancy trope.
I love when Devney Perry writes surprise baby stories and she gave a good one with Sunlight!
Sasha is new to town trying to keep to herself and do what she needs to. Jax is a bit of a playboy and who can resist a cowboy from Haven River Ranch? She sure tried but failed. The relationship between Sasha and Jax was filled with bumps along the way with them working together, having a baby together and complicated pasts getting in the way. They had to work for it and I loved their journey. I listened to the audio of this book and my house has never been so clean - I didn't want to stop listening! These characters will hook you and sweep you off your feet and you'll never want it to end!
As I said I was provided an early audio and I think it really added that extra bit of wonderful. The narrators, Ava Erickson & Stephen Dexter, really helped it play out and I loved it!
Narrated by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erikson. These two were amazing for Jax and Sasha. Hitting those emotions so powerfully. I felt like I was right next to them, in the shadows listening to their private conversations.
I cried a lot more than I expected to. Jax and Sasha meet in the grocery store parking lot, he helps her out, when she hears his name she turns him down.
Cause she just got hired to work at his families ranch.
She did not easily fall into his bed , and it took him some time, but Jax got her there... and then there's a baby on the way.
Jax is still dealing with his stepmother and their relationship, if we call it that, is rocky-but a baby coming makes these two talk it out. Sasha has a complicated relationship back home and who I thought she was writing too all this time was not who I expected.
I loved the way they found each other and commited to being together for the baby Jaxs Josephine 🥺.
Cannot wait for the next book!
These characters, the setting, the story— I loved it all!! Sasha has moved to Montana to make a fresh start for herself. There is a grocery store meet cute experience. I loved the way the tension and angst was woven into this story with Sasha and Jax absolutely disliking one another. Felt all the feelings as they slowly start to realize they might like one another’s company more and more. I laughed, cried and cheered on these two as they fell in love. I still want to move to Haven River Ranch one day!
The audiobook was so good!! I felt all the feelings, angst and emotions of the story. It was narrated by Stephen Dexter & Ava Erickson.
“Tell me a lie.”
“I hate Montana.”
“Tell me a secret.”
“I love you.”
This book was everything I needed in going back to Haven River Ranch! Devney, it was PERFECT!
"Tell me a lie.
I hate Montana.
Tell me a secret.
I love you."
The audiobook (ALC) for this was so enjoyable to listen to! Narrated by Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter and they both did an amazing job bringing the story to life. It is dual narration, but did not bother me like some dual narration audiobooks do. Overall, I would definitely recommend and will be re-listening to this one!
After moving to Montana for a job at the lodge, Sasha never thought she’d end up there. The tension between her and Jax had me itching for them to get together and I loved it when they did!. Sasha is fierce, independent, and not afraid to do whatever she wants and I love her for that! Jax is literally one of the sweetest MMCs and the way he will fight for his friends and family is so heartwarming. And not to mention how cute it was that he was crushing so hard on Sasha! He literally would do anything in the world for her and I love it so much!

This will release on October 15th and if you loved Crossroads, you’re going to want to read/listen to Sunlight as well!
Thank you to Devney Perry, Valentine PR, and NetGalley for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sososo happy to be back in Haven River Ranch!!! Accidental pregnancy, cowboy, & small town is literally my bread & butter so like I ate this shit up!!
I truly loved the mystery behind Sasha’s backstory; you could tell she was hurting from something through the letters with Eddy & how closed-off she was, but we didn’t get the full story until Jax did too which made the book super fun & interesting
I fell in love with Jax in the Crossroads because he was so sensitive & sweet & broody!!! I loved him even more in this one with all those traits being amplified as he was becoming a daddy 😭
All of the separate found-family aspects of this story also made it unforgettable - Emory & Jax’s relationship, Lily & Curtis as well as Sasha with Eddy.
Also love love looooovee Stephan Dexter as Jax & will be adding him to my fav narrators list 😌
Thank you to Valentine PR & Devney Perry for the alc 🤍
I want to live on Haven River Ranch!!! So to say I was happy to be back here was understatement. If you are looking for your next small town romance featuring a tall handsome cowboy that knows how to charm you then this book is for you. The banter we get from our Jax & Sasha right off the bat is insane and I ate it up they have an instant chemistry and pull towards each other that immediately draws you in and keeps you invested. Their story was beautiful, they both are carrying baggage from their pasts but they way they find their futures together is absolutely everything. I loved this book, this town, these characters so much.

Sunlight is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series and follows the younger Haven brother, Jax, and the new lodge manager, Sasha. Despite getting off to a good start, things go downhill when Sasha realises who Jax is and decides to distance herself for the sake of her job.
I loved this story! As with Crossroads, this story came with emotion and intrigue, leaving even the reader unaware of the full extent of Sasha's background. I loved the way these two met, it was a great meet cute, and they had loads of chemistry.
Jax is obsessed and down bad from day one! I loved that about him, and he was always there for Sasha, regardless of what she needed from him. Sasha is carrying such a weight of responsibility, and it is understandable why she is reluctant to let herself fall for Jax. She's not a perfect FMC and I love that about her, she doesn't always make the right choice but she's doing it for the right reasons.
The narration was performed in dual style by Ava Erikson and Stephen Dexter. Both did a really good job, as usual, providing a range of male and female voices. They're never my first choice when it comes to narrators, but I'm rarely disappointed!
Overall, a brilliant addition to the Haven River Ranch series. Can't wait for the next one!
Another fantastic small town book. Happy to be back at Haven River Ranch. I loved this book. From the meeting to the hea. I enjoyed how Jax and Sasha met. How stumped Jax was with Sasha’s response. Loved the banter and angst Jax and Sasha had. Loved their game. I enjoyed getting more tidbits about the characters from the Ranch. More from India and West. This story also has some emotional aspects. The character navigates them so well. As well as a little bit of mystery. I couldn’t wait to figure out who Eddie was. This story was perfection!!
5 ⭐ 2 🌶 5 🎧
Gahhhh that was so freaking sweet. I fell hard for Jax in Crossroads and couldn't wait for his story, and it certainly held up to every expectation. From their hilarious meet cute, to the mysterious Eddie, down to the secrets and lies and everything in between, this story was perfect.
Sasha was so sweet and strong, I really loved her for Jax. She brought out so much joy in him and when he found out he was going to be a father I could feel that excitement off the page. The Lily saga had me feeling so many emotions, but I was ultimately so happy with how that ended. And Eddie had me crying mad and happy tears.
Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson were brilliant. I could have easily started this book back over and just listened to them for another 4 hours easy peasy. I loved they way they brought these characters to life.
Devney Perry hit this one out of the park. Sasha and Jax are perfect. The glimpses at Jax in Crossroads weren’t near enough.
A chance meeting with a knight in a shiny pickup truck led Sasha to realize she was more closely connected to this stranger than she thought. Sunlight gives us the forced proximity, accidentally pregnancy, small town cowboy romance we all love. The stories of the issues within each of their families were heartbreaking. Jax and Sasha were both trying their best to overcome situations out of their control. The relationships in this series, with all of the characters, are so good. In my heart, I feel like there is another couple I need to see more of. This book was outstanding.
The voice work of Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter was so good. They were perfect for Sasha and Jax!
Cowboy Romance
Dislike to slowly falling in love
Surprise pregnancy
Small Town Romance
The narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson was so good! I thought Stephen Dexter was the perfect voice for Jax.
I had really high expectations for this one as I really loved Crossroads (my favorite read) and I loved Jax in that story and his playboy ways. It was enjoyable and I did like the story but I felt there was too many time jumps and skips and felt a little flat for me. The hidden secret felt forced just for it to be a reveal at the end and I felt it was rushed. Sasha, the fmc, was really not likable to me Jax was perfection and everything and I felt Sasha was just mean for the sake of being mean without any real reason.. The relationship between Jax and Lily set up from Crossroads felt like it was too simply resolved. I think I just wanted a bit more.
**Thank you to Valentine PR, Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley for the ALC. All opinions are my own**
This is quite possibly my new favorite book from Devney Perry. I loved Sasha and Jake as a couple so much and watching them fall in love while still trying to get ready for their baby was incredible!
This couple had such great chemistry and an equally deep emotional connection. I particularly loved getting Jake's point of view which I felt added so much to the rance in a much needed swoony way.
I adored this and highly recommend!

4.5 stars! ✨
We get a good bit of Jax in book one, Crossroads, so I couldn’t wait to read his story. The countdown to Sunlight was on, and I’m so happy to report, that I was not disappointed! 🤠 The accidental pregnancy trope is a guilty pleasure of mine, and this one definitely ticked all my boxes.
I was crying all sorts of happy tears in the end of this one. Multiple times. MULTIPLE!!!
Jax is a smitten kitten, and I would give my soul to be adored by that man. Sasha was a fabulous FMC, and I just wanted only good things for her. Their chemistry was electric, and Devney knows how to keep you on your toes with her couples. That spice was 🌶️ *chefs kiss*
Haven River Ranch is the only holiday destination I want now. Give me those Saturday BBQs, cabins, hikes, horse rides and cowboys.
Thank you so much to Devney and team for the ALC. I enjoyed it so much and I truely hope there will be more to come from the series!
Loved the narrator voices for Jax and Sasha.
I love reading this series as it keeps you wanted more to figure out the story.
Sasha and Jax met in a funny way. Sasha been in new in town and started working on the ranch had a liking to Jax. Not her boss but still a co worker. After a few drinks at the holiday party and fun night they learned to get along for the little surprise. Both telling secrets and lies learn their past and wants. Both have a lot of healing to do with their past. Their love story being one you fall in love with.
I am a forever a Devney Perry stan. If she has one fan, it’s me. This was so good! The tension. I felt it through the page. I was OVER for Jax Haven the moment he saw Sasha fighting for her life over that shopping cart. A man obsessed??? A strong, independent FMC??? An accidental pregnancy trope??? Quite literally a book specifically written for me. In Devney we trust and she just keeps delivering!!!
The male narrators voice gave me CHILLS. I’m blushing while listening!!!!!!!
If I didn’t already live in Montana, this book would have me planning a trip. Flirty cowboys! I repeat! Flirty! Cowboys!
Workplace romance. Forced proximity. Undeniable chemistry. Will Al the heart I’ve come to expect from Devney’s books.
I loved this book. Long anticipated for me and I gobbled it up. The audiobook is such amazing quality and the narrators did well speaking in tones that matched the context of that moment (excited sounding when the character was, yawning while talking when the character woke, etc). I loved this continuation of the series and authors writing style.
I am a big fan of the accidental pregnancy trope but there is no one, I repeat *NO ONE*, who writes them as well as Devney Perry. I have been in a reading slump and this book cured me. Right away I was sucked into the story and could not get enough.
An issue that I have with some accidental pregnancy romance books is that I don't always buy the connection between the two love interests and it makes me wonder if the characters would have stayed together had there not been a little bundle of joy. That was NOT the case with this book.
It was obvious from the beginning that there was *something* there, but Sasha has a guard up (and for good reason as we find out later on). She has one goal and that is to stay focused on her new job. She puts a wall up which Jax just loves trying to knock down. Jax is a charming, handsome cowboy who has lived his whole life feeling like he was a mistake. He has a reputation of being a flirt and never gets attached. That all changes when he meets Sasha and finds himself struggling to focus on much else besides his crush on her.
They slowly start to form a friendship of sorts and are somehow able to ignore the insane tension between them (they don't ignore it very well though). Even though Sasha really did try her best to ignore the hot cowboy (I would not have had her strength), she is only human. One wild night and a positive pregnancy test later... the hot cowboy is here to stay.
He made her feel safe and she made him feel wanted. Their love story was filled with SO many tender, sweet moments that had me melting and even more that had me giggling and kicking my feet. Jax is such a flirt (while also being a secret sad boy) and somehow it felt like he was flirting directly with me through the pages (ugh... if only). Their chemistry was off the charts and once they decided to just go for it? Wow. THE STEAM! My god...
The ending was beautiful. I was genuinely shocked by one of the plot points being revealed the way it was and was a blubbering mess the last 10%. There was a side character plot that made my heart break but the ending gave me so much hope for their happily ever after (which I realllllly think might be the next book?).
Haven River Ranch miiiiiiiight end up being my new favorite series by the author. It feels so fresh and different from other small town romances.
My only negative comment about this book is that it was not 500 pages longer because I did not want it to end.
The audiobook was fantastic. The narrators brought Jax and Sasha to life!
This book was so good! I think this is a sign that accidental pregnancy is becoming a new trope for me. I loved the tension between Jax and Sasha. His easy going demeanor and her uptight personality. And we loved forced proximity! I loved how caring Jax was once he realizes Sasha is pregnant and refers to Josephine. Learning about her past really helps explain why she is the way she is. I’m so glad that she was able to fix her relationship with Eddie.
I loved the narrators for this audiobook! Once I started it, I didn’t want to stop. I thought both narrators were perfect for Sasha and Jax.
