Devney Perry hit this one out of the park. Sasha and Jax are perfect. The glimpses at Jax in Crossroads werenβt near enough.
A chance meeting with a knight in a shiny pickup truck led Sasha to realize she was more closely connected to this stranger than she thought. Sunlight gives us the forced proximity, accidentally pregnancy, small town cowboy romance we all love. The stories of the issues within each of their families were heartbreaking. Jax and Sasha were both trying their best to overcome situations out of their control. The relationships in this series, with all of the characters, are so good. In my heart, I feel like there is another couple I need to see more of. This book was outstanding.
The voice work of Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter was so good. They were perfect for Sasha and Jax!
Cowboy Romance
Dislike to slowly falling in love
Surprise pregnancy
Small Town Romance
The narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson was so good! I thought Stephen Dexter was the perfect voice for Jax.
I had really high expectations for this one as I really loved Crossroads (my favorite read) and I loved Jax in that story and his playboy ways. It was enjoyable and I did like the story but I felt there was too many time jumps and skips and felt a little flat for me. The hidden secret felt forced just for it to be a reveal at the end and I felt it was rushed. Sasha, the fmc, was really not likable to me Jax was perfection and everything and I felt Sasha was just mean for the sake of being mean without any real reason.. The relationship between Jax and Lily set up from Crossroads felt like it was too simply resolved. I think I just wanted a bit more.
**Thank you to Valentine PR, Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley for the ALC. All opinions are my own**
This is quite possibly my new favorite book from Devney Perry. I loved Sasha and Jake as a couple so much and watching them fall in love while still trying to get ready for their baby was incredible!
This couple had such great chemistry and an equally deep emotional connection. I particularly loved getting Jake's point of view which I felt added so much to the rance in a much needed swoony way.
I adored this and highly recommend!

We get a good bit of Jax in book one, Crossroads, so I couldnβt wait to read his story. The countdown to Sunlight was on, and Iβm so happy to report, that I was not disappointed! π€ The accidental pregnancy trope is a guilty pleasure of mine, and this one definitely ticked all my boxes.
I was crying all sorts of happy tears in the end of this one. Multiple times. MULTIPLE!!!
Jax is a smitten kitten, and I would give my soul to be adored by that man. Sasha was a fabulous FMC, and I just wanted only good things for her. Their chemistry was electric, and Devney knows how to keep you on your toes with her couples. That spice was πΆοΈ *chefs kiss*
Haven River Ranch is the only holiday destination I want now. Give me those Saturday BBQs, cabins, hikes, horse rides and cowboys.
Thank you so much to Devney and team for the ALC. I enjoyed it so much and I truely hope there will be more to come from the series!
Loved the narrator voices for Jax and Sasha.
I love reading this series as it keeps you wanted more to figure out the story.
Sasha and Jax met in a funny way. Sasha been in new in town and started working on the ranch had a liking to Jax. Not her boss but still a co worker. After a few drinks at the holiday party and fun night they learned to get along for the little surprise. Both telling secrets and lies learn their past and wants. Both have a lot of healing to do with their past. Their love story being one you fall in love with.
I am a forever a Devney Perry stan. If she has one fan, itβs me. This was so good! The tension. I felt it through the page. I was OVER for Jax Haven the moment he saw Sasha fighting for her life over that shopping cart. A man obsessed??? A strong, independent FMC??? An accidental pregnancy trope??? Quite literally a book specifically written for me. In Devney we trust and she just keeps delivering!!!
The male narrators voice gave me CHILLS. Iβm blushing while listening!!!!!!!
If I didnβt already live in Montana, this book would have me planning a trip. Flirty cowboys! I repeat! Flirty! Cowboys!
Workplace romance. Forced proximity. Undeniable chemistry. Will Al the heart Iβve come to expect from Devneyβs books.
I loved this book. Long anticipated for me and I gobbled it up. The audiobook is such amazing quality and the narrators did well speaking in tones that matched the context of that moment (excited sounding when the character was, yawning while talking when the character woke, etc). I loved this continuation of the series and authors writing style.
I am a big fan of the accidental pregnancy trope but there is no one, I repeat *NO ONE*, who writes them as well as Devney Perry. I have been in a reading slump and this book cured me. Right away I was sucked into the story and could not get enough.
An issue that I have with some accidental pregnancy romance books is that I don't always buy the connection between the two love interests and it makes me wonder if the characters would have stayed together had there not been a little bundle of joy. That was NOT the case with this book.
It was obvious from the beginning that there was *something* there, but Sasha has a guard up (and for good reason as we find out later on). She has one goal and that is to stay focused on her new job. She puts a wall up which Jax just loves trying to knock down. Jax is a charming, handsome cowboy who has lived his whole life feeling like he was a mistake. He has a reputation of being a flirt and never gets attached. That all changes when he meets Sasha and finds himself struggling to focus on much else besides his crush on her.
They slowly start to form a friendship of sorts and are somehow able to ignore the insane tension between them (they don't ignore it very well though). Even though Sasha really did try her best to ignore the hot cowboy (I would not have had her strength), she is only human. One wild night and a positive pregnancy test later... the hot cowboy is here to stay.
He made her feel safe and she made him feel wanted. Their love story was filled with SO many tender, sweet moments that had me melting and even more that had me giggling and kicking my feet. Jax is such a flirt (while also being a secret sad boy) and somehow it felt like he was flirting directly with me through the pages (ugh... if only). Their chemistry was off the charts and once they decided to just go for it? Wow. THE STEAM! My god...
The ending was beautiful. I was genuinely shocked by one of the plot points being revealed the way it was and was a blubbering mess the last 10%. There was a side character plot that made my heart break but the ending gave me so much hope for their happily ever after (which I realllllly think might be the next book?).
Haven River Ranch miiiiiiiight end up being my new favorite series by the author. It feels so fresh and different from other small town romances.
My only negative comment about this book is that it was not 500 pages longer because I did not want it to end.
The audiobook was fantastic. The narrators brought Jax and Sasha to life!
This book was so good! I think this is a sign that accidental pregnancy is becoming a new trope for me. I loved the tension between Jax and Sasha. His easy going demeanor and her uptight personality. And we loved forced proximity! I loved how caring Jax was once he realizes Sasha is pregnant and refers to Josephine. Learning about her past really helps explain why she is the way she is. Iβm so glad that she was able to fix her relationship with Eddie.
I loved the narrators for this audiobook! Once I started it, I didnβt want to stop. I thought both narrators were perfect for Sasha and Jax.

I was so excited to get back to Haven River Ranch for Jax & Sasha. I was lucky enough to get the audiobook. Stephen Dexter & Ava Erickson did a phenomenal job and making you feel like you were on the ranch. When I listen to a audiobook especially this one I can really picture everything laid out like itβs a movie.
Jax had a complicated past with his family and I felt so bad for him, it broke my heart to hear how he was treated growing up. How he was with Sasha and how much he wanted her from day one when they meet at the grocery store. He knew she was meant to be his even if it took her awhile to figure it all out. It really took awhile for Sasha to let Jax all the way in, however the chemistry was so good between these two but the banter was top notch. These two definitely had me giggling π€. I loved the βTell me a secret. β & βTell me a Lie.β Throughout the whole book. It honestly really made the book.
I absolutely loved Sasha character. She was sarcastic to whereas Jax was charming. Even though these two were complete opposites they still were perfect for one another.
The whole time I was trying to guess who Eddie was to Sasha. So I was kept in the dark until the end. I really like how it came to and didnβt take a hit to Sasha & Jax relationship.
Devney really hit home for me with this small town & cowboy romance. I truly loved every second of this book.
Tropes:
Accidental pregnancy
Small town
Opposites attract
Cowboy
One night stand
Workplace
Jax and Sasha meet during a dispute over a shopping cart at the grocery store. Ever the gentleman, Jax helps sort it out and they have a fun, banter filled conversation... until he tells her his last name. What he doesn't know, and she has just realized, is that she is the new manager of the resort and, technically, he's her boss. It becomes clear when she pretends to have never met him when they are officially introduced, that their "meet cute" is going nowhere.
Sasha is in Montana temporarily. She's there for reasons we won't know for most of the book ad the last thing she needs is to get involved with her boss. It doesn't matter that he is totally charming.
A work function, a few glasses Β of champagne, forced proximity and they can't resist anymore. Sasha kind of ghosts him afterwards, but two lines show up on a pregnancy test...
Oh my heart, I loved this one! You definitely get a soft spot for Jax because of his past and you are intrigued by Sasha's secrets. Β I love the way they found to learn about each other ("Tell me a secret." "Tell me a lie.") and how committed they are to the little one that surprised them.Β
The audiobook is narrated dual style by Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter. Ava's sweet tone is perfect for the hurting and vulnerable Sasha, who's trying her best to stay afloat and to navigate her feelings for Jax and the new pregnancy. Stephen's deep and charismatic voice also fits the cocky but sentimental cowboy to a T.Β
A romance in the snowy Montana mountains, full of family drama, mysterious letters, "secrets and lies", a lot of healing and lots of love. I absolutely loved their story!
Thanks, Devney and ValentinePR for the advanced listen.
Content notes: estranged relationships with family members, child abandonment, loss of parents, accidental pregnancy
Just like every other Devney Perry book I immediately felt drawn to the characters. I loved seeing the growth of both Sasha and Jax. I wish Haven was a real place because I would love to see it!
Loved!! Jax abs Sasha were so perfect together. I love how Jax stepped up amidst the big surprise of becoming a dad. He didnβt let that scare him away.
*3.5 stars!
Sunlight is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series and I enjoyed it! I didnβt love it as much as Crossroads (there is just something about that book for me) but this was still a solid read!! Sunlight has all the cozy, small town romance vibes with the accidental pregnancy trope and I ate it up!
After reading Crossroads, I was so intrigued by Jaxβs character and this book did not disappoint. Jaxβs backstory was so sad but I loved getting to be in his head and see his perspective on things. Sasha is closed off at first from her previous traumas but it was so sweet to see her open up for Jax. Jax is obsessed with Sasha from the moment he meets her (their meet cute is so cute and funny) and their back and forth banter was just too good!! The communication between them was perfect. They took the time to build a friendship, work on themselves, and learn how to properly communicate/lean on each other for their romantic relationship and their child. I am hoping this series continues because I NEED a book on Emery!!
Side note: Jax being so protective of his family and friends, especially Emery, had me weepy at times! He loves his people so hard in all capacities!
π§The narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson was solid! Sometimes the FMCβs narration sounded a bit juvenile but Stephen captured the Jaxβs voice in my head perfectly . Despite this, I will definitely be picking up more books narrated by them!
Thank you to Devney Perry, Valentine PR, Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley for the ALC. π
Take me back to Haven River Ranch!!! I love it there!
Reviewing the audio (ALC), and I enjoyed it so much! Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson did a fantastic job with Jax & Sasha! Stephen brought Jax & his golden retriever heart to life so well, & Ava never misses! She was perfection as Sasha, & did an incredible job bringing all of her emotions through!
I was super excited for Jax's story, even if he was a little shit at times in the first book, Crossroads, lol. This one is 6-7 years post Crossroads, so he has grown up & is much more mature! He really has the sweetest heart, and loves his family & friends fiercely. This man is DOWN BAD for Sasha from their first meeting, & I love to see it. I won't spoil anything, but they are forced together & to see them fall together is so good (& spicy!). Jax's growth from Crossroads to now is more than just with himself, it spreads to his relationship with Lilly as well. I was so glad to see that relationship delved into a little deeper here!
Sasha, sweet Sasha! I adored her! Her strength, her independence, her grit, she is willing to do whatever she can to take care of herself. Love the mystery around her too, and while I won't spoil anything here either, the way that played out made me cry in heartbreak and then again with happy tears!
All in all, I absolutely loved this one! Can't wait for what's next from this series! I think we already got the hint & I AM READY!

The secret is outβ¦ I freaking LOVED this book! It was so good being back at Haven River Ranch. Jax and Sashaβs story was so wonderful and beautifully written. They had instant chemistry and OH MY Jax π He was kind, funny and so patient with Sasha. I really felt for Sasha. Sheβs new to Montana and has so much going on in her life that we learn throughout the story and she really wants to trust Jax. I also wasnβt expecting this book to make me cry (a few times) but these characters were so relatable and you could feel their emotions through the narrators.
I could not put this book down! I highly recommend this series!

Loved being back @ Haven River Ranch! Loved Jax & Sashaβs story! Devney Perryβs characters are so well-developed and these two are no exception. Their growth, both individually and as a couple, was so fun to experience, especially after they find out about their little Josephine. π₯° Iβm excited for whatβs to come in this series! I listened to this via audio and narration was GREAT! Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson were PERFECT for these two characters!
You ever read a book and you become so consumed by it that you canβt stop reading it? And then you finish it in less than 24 hours and are mad because you read it too quickly? That is this one, when I read the first in the series, Crossroads β I just knew that this series would be special and one that I will forever find myself coming back to and I was right. Sunlight is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series and I will forever wish I could read it again for the first time. The characters that Devney creates and the world she has them set in is something that feels familiar, these people feel like they are your friends and family and you come to know them so intimately that you find yourself longing to visit a place youβve never been to have a cup off coffee with them or go out on a trail ride through the mountains of Montana. Ugh I just love this series so much already.
I am not a crier, like I cry, sure but it takes a lot for me to cry because of a book and man I cried at this one β there were so many beautiful moments intertwined in this book between not only Jax and Sasha, but between everyone. The Havenβs love their people hard and it is so evidently shown throughout the book. Jax and Sashaβs meet cute is one of my favorites of all time. Right off the rip from the first chapter the two characters meet for the first time and what ensues is honestly hilarious and sets us up for an incredible story. From the mystery surrounding Eddie to Jaxβs strained relationship with Lilly, right alongside everything that is happening with Jax and Sasha there is so much story within the story. I couldnβt get enough.
Their chemistry is undeniable and I loved that they both tried to deny it for as long as they could until one night they let it all lose and their lives change forever β for the better. I like many other donβt prefer an accidental pregnancy trope, but I will say if anyone could make me like it itβd be Devney Perry. She wrote this trope with such raw and real emotions. Sasha has been through something in her past, something that at the time of becoming pregnant she finds it hard to fathom her being a mother, let alone being a good one. I very much loved that Jax comforted her, he let her slip away but not long β he let whatever was playing out in her head play out but was a constant in letting her know he would be there for not only her but for the baby. He was patient with her when she needed patience, but little by little broke down those walls until she finally let him in.
I love that we didnβt fall in love with Jax right way, much like Sasha didnβt either, we fell in love with Jax right along side her. And vice versa, we along side Jax are slowly unraveling everything that is Sasha and falling in love with her. These two are definition of opposites attract and together they couldnβt be more perfect for each other. This book is written in a romcom kind of way as there are some funny moments, but also explores some heavier topics, ones that the characters have to work through in order to be better together. They are heartbreaking, they hurt, but I promise your heart will be put back together by the end of it. I absolutely loved this book and I have zero complaints about it.
The narrators were incredible and I couldn't have picked better narrators for both Sasha and Jax, they just worked so well! The audiobook was so good!
Thank you so much to Valentine PR for the ALC in exchange for an honest review! I absolutely loved it.

Did I finish this book or did it finish me? π₯ΉSeriously, I have enjoyed every Devney Perry book. The Edens Series has been my favorite forever, but the Haven River Ranch series may just dethrone them. Crossroads was amazing and Sunlight is perfection π
I devoured this book. I cried through the last few chapters. Jax and Sasha have my heart. Their separate stories broke my heart and their partnership put it back together π«ΆπΌ I love them! It was also fun to see more of West and Indya π I recommend reading Crossroads first to get the full experience, but this can be read as a standalone.
