The cutest little spooky book for all the best ghouls and goblins around. I love anything spooky and different and so does my six year old daughter this was right up her dark alley.

This is the perfect cute yet spooky book for all Halloween loving book lovers. It shows the magic of finding the book that is meant for you, set in a cute little spooky town where our friend Henry discovers a key to the town bookshop. Throughout the pages, he discovers all of the different types of books the townsfolk love to read, and even helps set up for a spooktacularly terrifying story time. Such a fun read for the fall season, Griselda Snook's Spectacular Books shares the unique experience of falling in love with reading.

While the cover of this book clearly indicates it takes place in October this book could be read at any time. A little boy meets Griselda, who is opening a brand-new bookstore. He doesn’t like to read, but with Griselda‘s help he’s going to find a book just for him. But first they must have a little fun and magic in the bookshop. This book was lovely, and the illustrations are adorable. I would like to see this book in print version as the digital pages seem funny shaped at times and I’m sure that has to do with how the book is laid out.

The illustrations are creative and fun, with lots of little details and Halloween decorations to look at in the town and bookstore settings. The story is a little bland and heavy-handed, and I found some of the plot points confusing, but this will appeal to people who enjoy non-scary books with cute spooky elements.

The perfect story for every book lover, Halloween lover and bookstore fan,both young and old! We are so in love with this story and we found it just in time for the spooky season. In this fun story we meet Henry who has stumbled across the Griselda Snook’s Halloween-themed bookstore. Inside there are all kinds of books perfect for every Halloween creature and more. However, Henry doesn’t think he will find the right book for him. He meets a guest at the store, the amazing Magenta Screech, who is sure she can help him find the perfect book. An adorable and fun adventure all about the spooky and books, two of our most favorite things ever. My children, and I, absolutely loved this story. The illustrations are perfect and really capture the Halloween feel of the story. It has become a new family favorite. This is one that will be read a million times and never get old. I was so thankful for the ebook ARC and will be adding it to our home collection of family favorites. Your family will love the story. I loved how it showed that there is a perfect book for everyone. Enjoy this spooky treat with your family. 🎃👻📚

The illustrations are well worth studying as they are rich with details to support the story. Henry doesn't read but comes in to Griselda Snook's book store at her invitation. She is preparing for a special author visit and needs help. Following the fun antics will pull younger readers in to share the fun and discover how many types of books there are. By the end, not only is Henry reading but he loves it. A fun adventure for readers of various levels.

First, let me just say how impressed I am with the colorful illustrations of a quirky little Halloween town! The vivid colors and uniquely named shops brought so much character to this story. Henry discovers a key to the bookstore, and when he returns it to the owner, she explains to him that there is a book for everyone! He helps her with last-minute tasks to open the shop smoothly, greets customers and finds their perfect book, and even deals with a less-than-happy escaped dragon. But will Henry find HIS perfect book too? Find out! I was given an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

A fun love letter to books, reading, and readers with a Halloween setting. The artwork is fantastic - even better in the print book than it was in the e-book. This is the sort of book young readers are going to want to pour over up close so they can see all of the details in the illustrations. A great Halloween addition to home libraries and school/library collections where you are looking for something seasonal that isn't scary.

"Griselda Snook's Spectacular Books" combines two of my favorite things- Halloween and book shops. It's such a fun, quick book to read to little ones, especially during the Halloween season. The illustrations are vibrant and detailed, and there's lots to look at and talk about as you read it, which my five-year-old daughter really likes. She didn't find anything scary in the illustrations, more silly or spooky in a child-friendly way. It's also a great introduction to little readers about all the fun of going to a book shop, mentioning author events and finding a special book for everyone. This one is a very cute addition to your Halloween reading list.

The easiest 5 stars I've ever given to a picture book.

The illustrations are splendid! They're nostalgic, they're new, they're spooky, they're adorable, they're classic! I wish I could LIVE in this bookstore! I'm totally going to recommend this to anyone looking for Halloween books, that special spooky child, or that parent who's ALWAYS asking for new Halloween books (no matter the season).

I loved the illustrations equally as much as the storyline and felt that the way in which they were cohesive to one another was evident. I loved that it was not a cliche storyline but allowed for the spooky playfulness that comes with Halloween. This one is definitely a winner in my book.

This book is an absolute must for blooklovers and for fall! The illustrations are are adorable and there is so much to look at in the bookstore. I loved that Henry was so eager to help out and how excited he was for a book of his own. My kids loved looking at the pictures and finding all the creatures and the different books. I can't wait to add this one to our home library!

I absolutely loved all the illustrations and how much detail was included. The characters were all so unique and well done. I really loved every page!

The writing didn’t quite hold my attention as much as the illustrations did, but it was still an enjoyable read.
