I listened to the audio version of this book, it’s a pleasant enough story that leaves you feeling good, but with no major surprises. I also found the male narrator lacked any expression in his voice and narration, but maybe it was due with him having to put on a French accent.
Thank you to NetGalley for letting me review this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When you have a French MMC, you need to listen to an audio. Thank you Tyler Hyrchuk for nailing the French accent! I loved every second of this audio, not only was the story great, the chemistry was phenomenal. I even felt the angst our MC's were feeling when they started to realize their feelings were real.
Amanda Friday is one of my favorite voices and I loved her spirit while she narrated for Tasha, bringing out all the feelings and emotions so as I listened I could feel them too.
Listening to this book was an amazing experience!
And then you know you'll have laugh out moments when you read a book by Savannah Scott, I just love the humor she always includes in her books.
This was a closed-door romance, loaded with chemistry, humor and many emotions with it's marriage of convenience trope, french accents and happy ever after.
If you are looking for a cute fall romance after your book loving heart, look no further. This is a marriage of convenience romance involving a French author and his American fan. Best part? It opens with a book bestie meet up!!!
I had such a great time listening to this book! A great story that caught my attention.
A story about marriage of convenience written in such a lovely and beautiful way. I loved how Pierre was with Tasha and how gentle he was with her. He needed Tasha just as much as she needed him. These two were like two peas in a pod. A great love story that deserves to be heard, so if you want to enjoy a great book don’t hesitate. You’ll love it! 😊 ❤️
I loved this title and everything about it. The storyline was a reader's haven with all the bookish content! The main characters are wonderful, I really liked them both! One is an internationally renowned romance author writing under a female pen name who decides to reveal his true identity on his North American book tour for his newest release. The other is a book reviewer/influencer/audiobook narrator who loves Amelie's books and is thrilled to meet her on tour! Of course, things happen and she doesn't find out the big reveal alongside most people. Once she does find out, its in the most humorous and endearing of ways, which catches the eye of Pierre and starts their familiarity. When Pierre's agent notices their attraction to each other, he schemes up a plan that involves a marriage of convenience and thus the beginning of a lot of fun. I listened to this in one sitting, I simply didn't want to put it down. There are many characters in this book that added to the story for me. They were loveable and unique. I also enjoyed the narrators, I felt was if their voices were what the characters would sound like in real life. This was the first book I've read by Savannah Scott and I will read more based on it.
I loved this book! It was such a fun listen. The narrators did such a great job bringing the story to life. It was such a sweet love story and I love the how the marriage of convenience trope was handled in this story! I am a sucker for a story with characters in the book world and I loved that their meet cute was at a book event. So cute! Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this audiobook to others!
I enjoyed this story as an audiobook. This story is narrated by Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk. I love the dual narration and felt so immersed into the story. Both of these narrators fo fantastic with their French and the French accents. I could truly tell the difference between every character and just let myself drift into the story without having to concentrate on who was talking.
This is a dual pov, closed door romance. It is part of a multi author series but can be read as a stand alone novel. It is also the book that is associated with “He’s So Not My Valentine” and I recommend reading this story first. I absolutely adored this story. Pierre and Tasha have such a natural pull to them. They are so easy going around each other and make amazing friends (that eventually may lead to more). I thought Tasha and her booksta besties was such a fun part of the story because it’s a nod to the amazing community we have on bookstagram. I throughly enjoyed this marriage of convenience and was laughing so hard at the antics these two pulled with Pierre’s sisters (IYKYK). Definitely a must read especially to get you in the fall mood.
I absolutely loved this story. Tasha and Pierre were so cute together. The banter was fantastic and the book was light and funny and just what the needed.
I loved the dual narration. The narrators did a fantastic job.

This was a cute, clean, Fall romcom. Tasha gets to finally meet her online book besties at a book convention. While there, she meets her all-time favorite author, Amelie De Pierre. Only, it turns out that Amelie is a pen name used by author Pierre Toussaint, a good-looking French man who caught her eye in the lobby. And well, the cuteness frowns from there.
The two narrators did an excellent job and Tyler’s accent adds the perfect touch to this small town, fall romance. I plan to go back and listen to the other books in this series.

Book Title: A Not So Fictional Fall
Author: Savannah Scott
Narrated by: Amanda Friday & Tyler Hyrchuk
Format Read: Audiobook
A Not So Fictional Fall is a lighthearted romance filled with nods to the Bookstagram community and plenty of charming, laugh-out-loud moments.
Tasha, a dedicated Bookstagrammer, attends a signing event to meet her favorite author, Amelie De Pierre, only to discover that the real writer behind the books is actually the dashing Pierre Toussaint. When Pierre publicly reveals himself as Amelie, his female fans are quick to flirt and fawn over him, but it’s Tasha’s down-to-earth nature that catches his eye. Thanks to a bit of luck, Tasha ends up joining Pierre for a private dinner, where they start forming a genuine connection. As fate keeps throwing them together, Pierre's visa issues prompt an unusual solution: a marriage of convenience with Tasha to help him stay in the States. Despite her growing feelings, Tasha agrees, and the two set off on a romantic journey that’s anything but fictional.
This book was a fun tribute to romance lovers and the Bookstagram community, complete with scenes that had me grinning and nodding along. It has some memorable, laugh-worthy moments, like Pierre hiding behind a plant. Or him trying out American phrases like “you do you,” which had me cracking up. Tasha is relatable, and the whole setup feels like a dream scenario for anyone who loves book signings and has ever fantasized about meeting their favorite author. Overall, it's a quick, enjoyable read that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Narration: I had mixed feelings about the narration at first. In the opening chapter, the female narrator’s voice felt a bit nasaly, and I wondered if it would affect my enjoyment of the book. Thankfully, she found her rhythm quickly, and by mid-chapter, I was fully immersed in her performance. The male narrator, with his dramatic, romantic, sexy French accent, really amped up the charm, and I loved the stark contrast between his accent and the American voices. It added a nice layer to the story and made it even more entertaining.
Overall Impressions: A Not So Fictional Fall is a fun, easy read that’s perfect for anyone who loves bookish romances and quirky meet-cutes. If you’re in the mood for something light and heartwarming, this one’s definitely worth a listen!
Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the advanced reader copy.
I feel guilty for not enjoying this book more. I listened to the audio book version and the male narrators fake french accent for the character of Pierre just made me cringe. It was sooooooo creepy and smarmy, ugh, I did not like that at all. Otherwise it is a fun premise and a fun read about a marriage of convenience that turns to true love. I'm sure I am in the minority with my opinion because I feel this story would appeal to many, many others. Despite my complaint about the narrator I still recommend A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott for a light fun romantic read. 3 stars.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for a chance to read/listen to an ARC audio book version of this novel.
A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott is a delightful romance that perfectly captures the essence of a cozy, feel-good story. The plot revolves around the charming and unexpected romance between the protagonist and her favorite romance author, Pierre Toussaint. The twist of discovering that her idol is not who she expected adds a refreshing layer to the narrative.
The audiobook version truly brings the characters to life, with excellent narration that enhances the emotional depth and humor of the story. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and the slow-burn romance is both heartwarming and engaging.
If you’re a fan of sweet, clean romances with well-crafted characters and a touch of humor, this book is a must-listen. It’s a perfect companion for a cozy afternoon, leaving you with a smile long after it’s over.
I read this book last fall when it first was released and absolutely loved the characters and their storylines. When the opportunity came to listen to the audio book I jumped at the chance
I loved that there was both a female and a male narrator and that they took on the narrating of each respective gender. I've listened to far too many audio books where a male attempts a female voice in narration and it impacts how I view the character and hear the story.
Tasha goes to a book retreat to meet her favorite author but comes to find out it's not a woman but a man writing her favorite romance novels under a pen name.
I love how audiobooks bring a story to life and with the narrator's French accent it will make you swoon.
Slow burn Rom-Com, Fall, French Author, coffee shop and marriage trope.
Thank you to NetGallery and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The narrator's voice was too difficult to get past, and I couldn't get into the bo0k. I hope to read a physical copy of this one, as the story really appealed to me.

A Not So Fictional Fall is such a sweet romance. I enjoyed the marriage of convenience aspect of the story and I loved how it took place in the book world. I liked the family dynamic and though the romance was sweet, it felt like it moved kind of fast and I never truly felt that connection between the couple. Aside from that it was a solid read.
This contains an audiobook review:
When one of your favorite authors takes suggestions and writes one of your favorite tropes, marriage of convenience, and adds a French male lead to go with a female Bookstagramer, you know I am going to read it!
It can be hard to make a modern day marriage of convenience story seem realistic. This was twist on that trope that I haven't read before. A late night suggestion became a real book plot! I was so excited to read it!
This is a part of the Sweater Weather series. It is one of 7 closed door romcoms written by different authors. They can be read in any order and are standalone stories. The theme that connects the books is that they are set in Harvest Hollow in the Fall. I think I would have enjoyed this more had it been set there throughout the story. More than once the couple leaves town for various reasons. It made it feel a little scattered to me. That is just my personal feeling, and I know others that felt differently.
Pierre is just the nicest character. Tasha is a sweetheart as well. Their relationship starts off with a memorable meet cute and ends just as sweetly. There are some side characters that stuck with me and that I wouldn't mind seeing again.
I am anxiously awaiting getting to listen to this when audio becomes available. I think that will really help me because it will bring Pierre as a Frenchman to life more than I could in my mind.
Edited to add:
I've now listened to the audio. This is a duet audiobook meaning that all male characters' voices are done by the male narrator and the same with the females. Just as I predicted, listening to Pierre was great. I thought that the male narrator was fantastic. He had French and American accents for people of all ages. I can't give him enough praise.
I do not care for the female narrator that read this book. I've heard her read many other books, and she reads them all the same way. She doesn't take into account how the author writes or how the characters behave. She reads every book in the same manner with the same intonation for the narrative and the dialog. I cannot recommend her reading of this book.
Huge thanks to the author, Savannah Scott, and Netgalley for giving me an advanced digital copy of this audiobook. I am happy to share my honest review.

This was the perfect book for one of my first seasonal reads this autumn!
It was cosy, it was romantic and it was bookish too! What more could we ask?
I loved the dual pov format so that we met and really got a great sense of both our main characters - and what a gorgeous pair!
Outwardly, quite the contrast but with so much going for them we automatically knew just where this storyline was heading!
I loved all the bookish content in this.
Tasha worked in publishing and met with her booksta friends to head off to a book signing of her favourite author and this is where all the fun starts.
I won't give any spoilers though (even though they're in the blurb)
Pierre wasn't quite your classic romantic Frenchman, but that's what made his development so much more!
This had a lovely small town setting vibe (after the initial meet), which was so lovely. Set in the autumn/fall and 'experiencing' all the festivals and oh my, all the apple delights in the coffee shop just made me want to settle down under a blanket with a hot chocolate and totally binge this book!
This was a pretty tame romance in total contrast to some of the super spicy reads I've had of late - but I found this really refreshing and enjoyed it just as much even without the spice!
With some great side characters - Rene, I looking right at you here! - I'd love to revisit Harvest Hollow (or even France) and read much more by this author.
A really great, cosy read - loved it!
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

For a clean fall aesthetic romance, this was cute. I really enjoyed the plot of this story and the characters.
Meeting your favorite author in real life is always a win-win situation - but finding out that author is actually a hot French guy is bonus points. Then the said French hottie takes a liking to you in particular and somehow a week later you're entering a marriage of convenience? It's really just icing on the cake at that point.
While the plot itself has some flaws and very unrealistic, this book definitely let you live in a fantasy world for a moment and for that, I can't shame it. At the end of the day, this was cute and wholesome. Nothing mind blowing or award winning BUT...cute.
Tasha was a fun character. She's a lover of the books and has a bookstagram and for that, she's super relatable. I enjoyed her booksta bestie chats. She's seemingly down to earth and caring. She takes a liking to Pierre and I totally get it. She wants to help him out and again, I get it.
Pierre is charming and honestly kind of adorable. He writes romance books (which started as a dare, hence the pen name) and is finally coming clean. He has a great personality and I really enjoyed his character. I like that he felt just as blindsided by the idea to marry Tasha but respectfully lets her decide (as anyone should) instead of just convincing her.
The romance development was cute but fast. I think the character development and relationship development felt a little too quick for me and it made things more cheesy and unrealistic. There was a lot that just felt open ended and a tad confusing. I think that was the biggest reason for not absolutely loving this.
We kind of just get a meet cute and then a week later a marriage proposal and then what feels like another week later is the marriage and then another week later they realize they love each other. The pace was off for me. Too much happened too quickly but then not enough actually happened. Do that make sense?
Also. For a fall themed book, I felt zero fall. That kind of bummed me out, not gonna lie.
At the end of the day, I did not hate this. I didn't love it, but I enjoyed it. If you are looking for a quick and cute clean romance, give it a whirl. If you want to hear a French accent...try the audio!
