Carl Murphy the acclaimed publisher of the *AFRO-American*newspaper left a remarkable legacy that inspires you to find your strength and solace in God.

There are fifty prayers collected here along with proverbs and other words of wisdom from Murphy. Throughout the turbulent times of the twentieth century, Murphy's authentic conversations with God illustrate his deep faith.

The remarkable legacy of Carl Murphy, the acclaimed publisher of the AFRO-American newspaper, will remind you to always find your solace and strength in God. Fifty of Murphy’s prayers, along with other proverbs and words of wisdom, have been lovingly collected in this volume. Murphy’s authentic conversations with God throughout tumultuous moments of the twentieth century showcase the deep faith of this wise businessman and cultural hero.

This book is a blend of personal recollections, archives, biographical information, and prayers written by Dr. Murphy. As we know that nothing is new under the sun, you will certainly find a prayer or article that corresponds with today. For instance, one of Dr. Murphy's daughters served with the 6 Triple 8, who are currently the subject of movies, documentaries, books, and more. There are further examples of how the coverage of African Americans and the need to engage in prayers that impacted our people are still necessary. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in American history, Baltimore history, African American society, archivists, journalists, and more.
