3.5 stars rounded up. I preferred this to its predecessor The Naughty or Nice Clause, possibly because the world was already established and this develops it further - I do recommend reading the first in the series before this one though, to get the most out of it. Juliet is the scapegoat of her wealthy family and struggling to land a promotion at work, when she receives a posthumous gift from her grandmother that turns everything she thinks she knows on its head. From there the plot zips along, only slightly unevenly - the highlight is the instant chemistry between Juliet and Will, and it’s nice to see characters from the previous book making an appearance. It did feel like everything with Juliet’s family wasn’t completely resolved, but still the book builds to a very satisfying and festive conclusion.
It's not often that a sequel is better than its predecessor but this one is amazing! This was such a fun, feel-good Christmas story and I loved following Will and Juliet.
really enjoyed this book.. 'Tis the Season for Secrets is book two in the Village of Yule series. I have read both books in the series and have thoroughly enjoyed both of them. It was a nice easy quick fun read just what you need . Thank you to Kate Callaghan and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

I was so excited to get to visit Yule again. This time it was even better! This was a fantastic sequel that far surpassed the first book. I enjoyed the first book, but I loved this one. I'm so glad that Kate Callaghan was willing to take us back to the fantastic world she built with another heartwarming story. I sure hope there is a third book in the works and that we are able to spend even more time in the village of Yule.
The love story and hopeful found family made this book so much more. I loved getting to know more of the backstory of the Village and more founding characters. After reading this, I really want my own bell so that I can visit any time I want. There are some books that you can't help but blaze through and others that you linger in for as long as possible because you know once you read that last sentence you will no longer be in the magical world that was surrounding you. This book was one I savored to the last drop. This is a wonderful addition to your Christmas TBR. Spice 2/5

It is NEVER too early to read Festive novels and in this indian summer thanks to the publisher I finished today.
I would suggest reraders read the first book - The Naughty Or Nice Clause as this sets the scene.
The story follows Juliet Frost, an aspiring editor, who unexpectedly uncovers some family secrets that take her to a magical Christmas village called Yule.
We see Will Duncan again ( a one night stand) that Juliet thought she would never see gain, thus begins some chemistry entwined with Yule.
Lovely festive read and would make a great stocking filler.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!
This book was great! I loved the writing style and I loved the characters and their chemistry. I loved the Christmas vibes. Great book!!
We're back in Yule!
"Tis the season for secrets", is the sequel to "The naughty or nice clause", which I labelled as one of the best Christmas stories I've read in quite a while.
Callaghan has created another feel good story about love and Christmas, without it being over the top sweet. "Tis the season for secrets", is highly entertaining, with lots of romance and some magic. Perfect for creating Christmas spirits and feel-good.
Great to be back in the town of Yule with the Klaus family and the rest of the residents.
Julia Frost receive’s an unexplained chest shortly after the death of her grandfather which she dosnt understand. How can she have connections to a secret magical Christmas village she was abandoned by her mother as a baby but she finds out there is more to that story than she was ever told.
With the help of handsome Will and the Klaus family can she find her own truth.
Great fantasy series hoping for more in the future.
I really enjoyed this book, and even though it is only September it put me in the Christmas spirit! Is it too early to put up the tree and hunt down some eggnog?
In this novel we follow Will and Juliet. Juliet is a member of the Frost family who was banished from Yule generations ago. She was raised by her cruel family in the Outside world while her mother was kept away from her in Yule. Enter our hunky MMC Will. He is a guardian and is tasked with making sure those banished do not reveal Yule’s secrets and helping those who leave Yule (by choice) acclimate to the Outside world. He was tasked by Juliet’s mother to find her and reintroduce her to the world of Yule. But it is love at first sight for these two. With secrets at every turn, and family who are vindictive, will Will and Juliet find their HEA?
I love Callaghan because she writes the perfect men. Will is so sweet but dang he has some spice to him. This is the third book I’ve read by Callaghan and the other two have been slow burns. This one was heating up by chapter 3!! Goodness, I needed to turn on the AC. 🔥🥵
Juliet was a very likable character, much like all of Callaghan’s FMC. She is strong minded but has a soft spot for family. This is why I can’t fault her for always seeing her family on the holidays, even when she is expected to stay in a cabin and not in the main house (or should I say mansion), and is treated terribly.
Three things did bother me about this books: 1) I wanted to know what ended up happening with Juliet’s father. Did he ever go to the council? Who was his guy on the inside telling him everything? 2) Juliet gives in to her flight instincts too much. Whenever Will left her alone I was like “Boy, she’s gonna run!” 3) Are Harvey and Margo going to get together??? I must know!
If you’re looking for a fun Christmas novel that is like nothing I’ve read before, check out this series. Both books include cinnamon roll MMC who will do anything to win the hearts of the FMC.
Ps, I also really loved how Lyla, Mason, Kevin, and Mrs. Klaus were included. And it wasn’t just a quick passing, they were in several chapters. I love this family and I’m not ready to say goodbye to them!

Thanks to NetGalley and CallaghanWriter | Independent Book Publishers Association for the opportunity to read Tis The Season For Secrets by Kate Callaghan, a fun, romantic, very sexy Christmas novel. Loved it!
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I got this book after reading about the Yule Village. It helps to read The Naughty or Nice Clause as this sets the scene and introduces certain characters. It has more adult themes than the first, but is still a romance story at its heart.
Juliet Frost is trying to get promotion in the publishing firm she works for. To this end, she has been tasked with getting the manuscript from a new author, to be on her bosses desk at 8am Sunday morning. Her flat mate persuades her to attend a party, which is being hosted by the author. Here she bumps into Will and her whole life changes. She and Will spend the night together and she runs out on him first thing in the morning. This seems to be a recurring habit of Juliet's, even when she finds herself in Yule.
Kate Callagham has written another page turner, a great read to while away a cold evening, sat infront of a real fire, drinkng hot chocolate.
I enjoyed this book and will look out for more by the same author.
“Everyone worth having comes with its challenges, but I’d give up everything I have just to spend my days with you.”
This is the second book in the interconnected series, Village of Yule and it is the story of Juliet and Will.
I have to admit that I liked this one more than The Naughty or Nice Clause, which should be read first to avoid spoilers.
What you can expect:
One Night Stand
Winter Wonderland
Family Secrets
Forced Proximity
Holiday Romance
Bodyguard and Editor
Dual POV
Forbidden relationship
Found family
I feel like this book had a fast pace, was emotional and spicy.
Will fell in love instantly and did all he could to protect Juliet and show her she is important. Even if there is some drama, they manage to develop their relationship nicely.
The ending made me very happy.
Thank you Netgalley and the author for the e-book in exchange for an honest review.
I hope there will be another book in the series.
I just finished a great holiday read! Tis The Season For Secrets by Kate Callaghan was a winner for me!
