I was going to originally give this book 3 stars because I thought this was a debut author. However, Ms. Harrison has been publishing since 2007. This is simply first in series.

While I found the story to be interesting and unique, as mystery series go, I found it to be slow and repetitive. Had she been a new author, I would have given her benefit of the doubt and bumped the book up to 3 stars. Since this is not the case, I stuck with my original rating.

All in all, the story didn't capture me and I found myself putting it down to pick up other books that I am reviewing. While it had the premise of an excellent new series, it failed to follow through with the mystery component. Part of this could have been setting up a new series, but as mystery is my primary genre I read, I have read numerous other first in series that were able to set up the main protagonist all while providing an engaging mystery.

I may or may not continue with this series.

A great series of stories about a woman is husband is a leader in the church. She however, has a skill of solving crimes. This is the second in the series and I hope for more.

Although I found this readable. It wasn't up to the standard needed for me to feature it on my blog. I didn't leave an amazon review either
