Who doesn't love a good novel about mercenaries? Especially one on their "final mission". It's a popular plot in mysteries and thrillers, and I enjoyed seeing it employed in fantasy. It's a well-plotted and well-written novel, featuring interesting (if a bit overly dour) characters.
I've also enjoyed Ruckley's "Edinburgh Dead" - while a very different setting, it shares the same excellent writing and description.
Recommended.
