This scenario must be such a nightmare. You have planned a romantic weekend away from all your every day problems and when you are hardly settled in, there is a knock on the door. Two unwanted guests stand on the threshold and they are as determined as you are to stay.
Can they be trusted? Can you be trusted?
This author's books keep getting better and better!
I loved every part of this story. When you think you know how all the pieces fit, the author lifts the book to the next level by revealing a few juicy bits and I happily gobbled them up.
I liked her last but one book, I loved her last book and I adored this one. 5 stars.
Thank you
The Other Couple was my first by Tríona Walsh, and definitely won't be the last! What a rollercoaster, I don't even know where to begin.
First, we have Alice and Finn. They are totally doing the wrong thing. Finn is a CEO and Alice is his 25-year-old junior analyst. They're "dating" and yes, I am using quotation marks because he's abusing his position of authority and we all know this is not the first time this happens. You've probably guessed already that I despise him and we're only a few pages into the novel. So why do I feel for him when their secret romantic scapade to a remote lighthouse is interrupted by a couple who claim they've also booked the property that weekend?
Enter Mac and Vivienne, who are adamant the property is "theirs" for the weekend. I love Vivienne because he essentially tells Finn the CEO with the 25-year-old girlfriend to take a walk when he suggests they leave. Alice thinks there's something really odd about those two, but Finn convinces her they're alright so they agree to let Mac and Vivienne stay the night until they can talk to someone about the mix-up.
Of course, not everything is what it seems. Who are Mac and Vivienne? and why is Finn so relaxed about them? why did he suggest this place? Alice will soon learn things are about to take a turn....
This is my first book by Triona Walsh and I am speechless. This couple has so many secrets but they will come to the light. This is like being on a roller coaster ride.
