This is an historical thriller about the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre. It follows three women and their journey leading up to the massacre. There was a lot of thought put into this book and how the story is told. I can tell the author cares about the story and it's characters. This is a heartbreaking tragic story When I signed up for this arc I thought I would be reading a psychological thriller, I was slightly disappointed that it is a historical thriller but that doesn't take away that this was still written so unbelievably well with so much emotion. Noelle did an amazing job telling this story. She has a way of putting you there in the book while you're reading it that I love!

My heart raced and I may have cried a bit. This novel is based on the true story of the Mountain Meadows Massacre in 1857. We are shown the story through the eyes of three women who go through unbearable hardships. Previously I had not known of the Mountain Meadows Massacre, but now I definitely know of it. I will always read anything Noelle Ihli writes and this was no exception.

This book seriously kept me hooked from the beginning, and I rarely like books with similar themes! An enthralling fictionalization of a real-life event that very few have ever heard of. The writing was fantastic, character development was spot on and you just couldn’t help but root for all of the strong women in a time when women were not considered strong. I would absolutely recommend this book!

This book was hard to put down. As someone who lives in Utah it is always fun to read about places you know. The topic is not fun and there is a monument where events took place and it is remembered. There were so many twists I did not see coming. I do think this is a must read for fans of historical fiction.

This book had so many twists I never saw coming! I was pleasantly surprised at how much a genuinely enjoyed it, with the historical aspect. It’s a take on true events which makes it that much more shocking! Absolutely worth the read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was wonderfully researched and written. A lot of thought was put into this book and it shows page by page. I usually do not read a lot of historical fiction books but I am so glad I read this one. Every book that I have read by Noelle W. Ihli has been a page turner and kept me intrigued until the very end. I love the 3 points of view that this story was written in. It had me feeling so many emotions for each of the women. What a journey this book was. To know that this is based on true events makes it even more emotional. I highly recommend that you read this book and then go down the online rabbit hole and learn more about the Meadow Mountain Massacre. Big thank you to Net Galley and the author to be able to read this book early as an ARC reader. #nonelefttotell #netgalley #netgalleyreview #noellewihli #historicalfiction

As a recent (although quickly dedicated) fan of Ihli's, I was so excited to find this ARC last minute on NetGalley. This story is unlike any other in Ihli's catalogue, but still just as good. Let me start by saying I am by no means a historical fiction fan. I tried it once and never went back. Now, let me follow that statement with: I gave this book four stars. I wouldn't really consider this a "historical thriller" as the big event happens maybe 60-70% of the way through, and doesn't have a big suspense lead up or follow through like readers normally expect from this author. I would describe it more like reading a really good true crime documentary; historical fiction with some twists. After the big event happened, I wondered if I would like the rest of the story, or if I would get lost in dates and facts. Well, I can tell you it only got better from there. Yes, there were a couple lulls in the story to give readers more background, but there was an amazing twist in this story that left my jaw on the floor. I found the subject surrounding the book really interesting as well (think The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but 1800's style). Readers can expect the same awesome story telling Ihli normally brings with well-detailed, multi-view perspectives. I'm so happy that I went into this blind, and stuck with it. Happy pub day to a big fave!

This book was amazing. So hard to put down. Absolutely loved the historical aspect of this thriller. Kept me rivited and the writing was so graphic to help the reader feel right in the middle of this chilling story. Highly recommended!

The story was very compelling and emotional! I felt very drawn into these womens' stories. This will definitely sit with me for a while.

"None Left to Tell" by Noelle West Ihli presents a compelling story rooted in historical events. Initially, I found the pacing a bit slow, but the character development and emotional depth won me over. The narrative beautifully intertwines the lives of three women, making their journeys both heartbreaking and inspiring. Though not a traditional thriller, the book's strength lies in its historical authenticity and the careful portrayal of its characters. Great read, not just as a story, but as a reflection on resilience and the human spirit.

I was so excited to receive this ARC. Noelle Ihili is one of my favorite authors! That said I could not get into this one at all. The writing style is completely different than her other books & not at all what I was expecting! I was easily confusing who was who and what was going on. The character names were hard to pronounce & it jumped around so much. I felt like the most important part of the book was skipped over. I do appreciate the author trying to go outside the box & share a historical event not known to many! I still look forward to reading future books by this author but hope she goes back to her style of writing!

I was interested in this book because the of the cover at first but then reading the intro and the author’s notes about all of the work she put into it made it more real. The story of 3 different women with different stories but end up in the same story of the Mountain Meadows Massacre (based on real events of the occurrence). The author really made you feel for these women for sure and all they had to go through on their journeys. It says it’s a thriller but it reads more like a historical fiction with thriller moments.

This is more of a historical fiction book than thriller. I did however enjoy this book! It was very different from her normal writing style. She is an auto read for me. It was a great story and I enjoyed the read. Thank you Netgalley for sending me this arc!

"True Events Based on The narrative of the Mountain Meadow Massacre is told in None Left to Tell. Written from the perspectives of three women, this novel was quite well done. I didn't know what to expect from this book because I usually read everything by Noelle. It's not so much a thriller as it is historical fiction. After finishing the novel, I looked up this tragedy on Wikipedia as I had never heard of it before. The reader is expertly drawn into this landscape by the author. Try it if you enjoy historical fiction thrillers. I felt a wide range of emotions from it, including tears. The idea that the events at the core of this tale actually occurred is unthinkable.

As soon as I saw the author's name, I had to request NetGalley for an ARC request as I loved Ask for Andrea and Grey After Dark by the same author.
Although None Left to Tell is different from her previous thriller book. It's a historical fiction about the Mountain Meadow massacre that happened in 1857, where 120 men, women, and children were massacred in cold blood.
“It's an actual event of which None is left to tell the story. “
The story has been told from 3 women's POVs who faced the massacre. Katrina, a young mother of four, is trying hard to keep her family and children safe while crossing Utha territory.
Lucy is trying hard to get settled in Utha while her family is away from the land of Illinois, and she refuses to be a victim any longer and fights for her rights.
And Sally, who is stuck in an unwanted marriage and old rituals.
This wasn't an easy read. It's horrifying and heartbreaking. The gruesome act that no one deserves in their life. This is a sad event and story, and knowing it is based on actual events gives me goosebumps.
The author did excellent research in writing this story as she has a personal connection to history and put her heart into it.
It's shocking to know that very few people know about this Mountain Meadow massacre, and those who knew about it tried hard to hide this heinous crime.
Thanks to Noelle. Ihli for bringing this untold story to the light. No matter how dark the story, it gives such a positive message: “To find hope in the darkest hour. “
This story will stay in my mind for the long term.
PS: Don't forget to read the author's notes at the beginning and end.

This was quite different from Ihli’s other books, but I don’t think anyone could have depicted the mass murder of the ‘gentiles’ on mountain Meadow more respectfully and moving as her. It was a thoroughly researched book about an event I knew nothing about before reading it. I was immediately transported back in time, as if I was there. It brings home how much the world has changed and what our ancestors had to live through.
I also recommend the afterword, it just made me respect the story the author has crafted even more.

Honestly this isn't a book I would typically read. But I really did enjoy reading this book. I honestly didn't even know about the history around this book. It was slow to start and I wanted to give up a couple times but I stuck it out and I'm glad that I did.

A thriller, no doubt, but it's originally a historical fiction. A work of fiction but tightly based on a brutal, tragic, and sickening event in history. Very meticulously researched and told through emotional experience this is the book every one who didn’t know about it, should read. I praise the author for providing excerpts from sermons, letters to church leaders in Philadelphia, and most importantly, the list of victims in the Mountain Meadows Massacre in Utah in 1857.
It's written in a thriller style that keeps you on edge throughout the book. You can't help but admire the strength of all three women in their horrifying journey. All the characters are based on real people's lives, which is explained truthfully in the author's note at the start and the afterword at the end. Attention to details and the descriptions are masterfully crafted.
It was an intense, heartbreaking, and gut-wrenching emotional experience. Highly recommended.
Thanks a lot to @Netgalley , author, and the publisher Dynamite Books for the eARC.

As someone who tends to not love a historical fiction, I was a little skeptical when I was encouraged to try Noelle West Ihli’s latest novel. With her writing style and pace though, Ihli did a fantastic job presenting such a tragic event in US history, one myself, and I’m sure many others, have never even heard of: The Mountain Meadow Massacre.
Told in the point of view of three unique women, we get a glimpse into the historical conflict and nuances that lead to the massacre, from the perspectives of a Mormon wife, a gentile mother in a wagon train bound for California, and the fourth-wife of a Native chief.
I was impressed at how well Ihli was able to tell this story. It was compelling and hooked me from the first paragraph. The characters were layered and the telling of the events was riveting. If I learned this story in history class, I have no memory whatsoever; upon finishing this book, though, I want more information because it was just fascinating to learn how all the parties were involved. I’ve found myself even mentioning it to friends in conversation because it’s so powerful. You can feel how much care Ihli put into the characters, while still keeping as much historical accuracy as possible.
This is not for the faint of heart though, and comes with many trigger-warnings. Be sure to read the intro warnings if you may be impacted reading about death and other difficult content. While Ihli handles the topics respectfully, given the nature of the event, it’s tough at times.
A great read that I highly recommend. Thank you NetGalley and Dynamite Books for this advanced digital copy.

Thank you to Dynamite Books for the ARC! While the story started off slower than I anticipated, it kept me hooked all the way to the end. The characters are well-developed, and the twists are unpredictable! For me, it leans more toward historical fiction than a typical thriller, but it is a thought-provoking read, and one that I definitely recommend!
