Emotional, thrilling, shocking, gut-wrenching, historical, and extremely well written
None Left to Tell, by Noelle W. Ihli, is a historical thriller based on the true events of the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Written in two parts, this book follows three women (Sally, Katrina, and Lucy) as their lives are turned upside down. Lucy is a devout Mormon who recently moved to Utah, Katrina is a mother journeying with her family from Arkansas to California with hopes of a better life, and Lucy is a woman who was gifted to a zealous man as his fourth wife.
I was thoroughly impressed with this book. So much research was done to tell these characters' stories, and I genuinely believe Ihli did them justice. Not only were these characters, but they real people who suffered either directly or indirectly from the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I had no prior knowledge of this brutal slaying, but I found myself researching it as soon as I finished this book. I was blown away by the writing, plot, twists, imagery, character development, and emotional impact in None Left to Tell. I was shocked by the brutality of some of these characters, and I was mourning alongside them as I realized how much truth was behind their stories. It evoked every single emotion from me. I grew very attached to these characters, and I can imagine they will stay on my mind for years to come. Ihli did an amazing job bringing the story full circle from beginning to end. I have to say this is her best book I have read yet. She does an amazing job when writing thrillers based on true events or stories. It was so impactful. If you are someone who enjoys reading thrillers and learning about U.S. History, I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is not for the faint of heart, so I do advise to check the trigger warnings first. This is one of those books I will recommend to SO many people because it is so important we learn about this and from this. I especially love how we were able to read the names and given a sneak peak of all the effort Ihli put into this phenomenal story towards the end.
This is an HONEST review, and all opinions in this review are my own. Thank you SO much, Noelle W. Ihli, for the opportunity to read this book prior to its release. I greatly appreciate it. I will never forget this profound story or the strong women they were inspired by.

Such a sad remarkable story!
Didn't expect it but it truly captived me. Pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages

This was a very powerful book with amazing insight into the characters and everything that happened during the Moutain Meadows Massacre.
Based on true events in 1857, the book tells the story of 3 women and one of the most brutal mass slayings in history.
Hard reading at times but I really took a lot from this book. I would highly recommend reading it. Please be aware though there are some graphic descriptions of violence including some against children.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Dynamite Books, for allowing me to review this ARC before publication date.

I’d like to start with saying this book is being marketed as a thriller-suspense novel but I believe it better fits the historical fiction genre.
None Left To Tell by Noelle W. Ihli is a beautifully written story based off of the horrific events of The Mountain Meadow Massacre.
Told from the perspective of three incredible women - Katrina, Lucy and Sally who captivated me from the very beginning. Each POV is told with such deep, raw emotion it brings the story to life.
This was a difficult book to read. The events that took place seem unimaginable and brought with it a wide range of emotions.
Do yourself a favor and read the author’s note at the end.

You wanna know what? I get the power to this story but I was bored the entire time, I have liked some of the other books written but this one I couldn’t get behind it. I was expecting a full on thriller, it might just be on me because I don’t really enjoy historical events.

Never have I ever read a historical thriller, but I was hooked from the start. I was on the edge of my seat all night. Trying to finish in one night. Loved this book recommending to all my friends.

This book comes across more as a historical fiction than thriller. It’s very different from everything of Noelle’s I’ve read so far, and in this case, that’s definitely not a bad thing. I love that we get to see this event unfold through the eyes of three women, all from different parties involved in these tragic events. It made the story flow seamlessly. We see the tragedy of death very early on in the book, and it left me cringing knowing the worst is yet to come. One tiny tip just sent the chain of dominoes crashing down. This book is most certainly not for the faint of heart, but is an amazing read.

This was not the typical thriller I have come to expect from this author. Let me just say, wow. This book shattered my heart, but in the best way. It was so deeply moving and emotional. And it serves as a reminder to never give up hope and that all is not as it seems. Highly recommend.

Let me start with I would not classify this story as a thriller, but as a historical fiction. It is a must read!
This is the second book I have read by Noelle. I really enjoyed None Left to Tell and would read it again. I have always been someone who enjoys learning about history so naturally the summery interested me. This story was beautifully written! I felt the authors passion to tell the story in the most respectful way for the people involved. This book will not only have you thinking about it for weeks, but you will also be draw to do your own investigation into the events that took place in the meadow.
There are a lot of characters in the story which I found difficult to keep up with at first, but it was easier as the plot progressed.
Thank you Xpresso Book Tours, NetGalley, and Noelle West Ihli for an advance reading copy of this book.

None Left to Tell is a devastating story of historical events. Set against the harrowing backdrop of the Mountain Meadows Massacre, the novel follows the lives of three courageous women—Lucy, Katrina, and Sally—each grappling with their own battles amidst a time of unimaginable violence and turmoil.
Each chapter reveals more about the characters’ pasts and their current situations. The historical context is so vividly portrayed that it made me feel the crushing weight of the events as they unfolded.
Noelle Ihli’s writing is evocative, painting a clear picture of the harsh realities of the time.
The emotional scenes are handled with such grace that they left me breathless. Reading this book was a gut-wrenching, heart-breaking experience that will linger with me for a long time. It’s a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring impact of history on our lives.

I must admit I struggled in the beginning of the book. But through out the read, I felt that it gotten better. I believe that it was a lot of content with a lot of in depth information. I had to keep going back to prior chapters. But in the end I really loved the book. Just take it in that this is not your regular Noelle West Ihli “Ask for Andrea” thriller. I love in the end of the book that she talks of her research into the history part of the historical fiction. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC #NoneLefttoTell #NoelleWestIhli #NetGalley

None Left To Tell ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story follows three ladies and their families during the time of the Mountain Meadows Massacre, that took place in Utah in 1857. 120 people (men, women and children) travelling to California were slaughtered. The only known survivors were the seventeen small children, who were taken into Mormon homes.
This book was unlike anything else I have read before by this author. I wouldn’t say it’s a thriller but more so historical fiction. Told in the point of view from 3 different women and 1 child (at the end), we follow the story and what happened from each perspective. I had never heard of the Mountain Meadows Massacre before, so this was really eye opening to me. Seeing what each woman went through during this time was so captivating and memorable. This story was written well and the author even mentions she doesn’t want to blame one side or the other, but wanted to focus on love and humanity. It’s for the ones who chose love, even if it was the last choice they made.
If you’re a fan of thrillers, historical fiction, murder mystery or even romance novels, I would recommend reading this. It’s so heartbreaking but beautifully written and so captivating. This book will publish on October 10, 2024. Thank you to NetGalley and Dynamite Books for my advanced reader’s copy. This is my voluntary and honest opinion.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
None Left to Tell by Noelle W. Ihli is a horrifying and incredibly sad story. In true Ihli style fiction is created based on true events. Probably this book is the closest to the true events as she is trying to give a voice to some who never had a chance to tell their story.
As I never heard of this horrific thing I watched some videos on YouTube to get a little bit of background knowledge. And I am happy I did as it was so much easier to follow the book.
I would say that the cover is so perfect for this book, it gives that emotional vibe that we need to have when dividing in this book!
Even though I demolished this book in a day, I would advise you to read it slowly as it is emotional and heavy and some parts will rip your heart out.
Thank you, NetGalley and Dynamite Books for this copy!

None left to tell by Noelle Ihli
What an intense book from start to finish as it sorrows the lives of three young women each facing the unimaginable in a world with no choice!
Katrina a mom willing to stand and fight! Lucy with the strength in refusing to be a victim it was honestly breathtaking and beautiful! And Sally who was trapped in a marriage that was not only tragic and gut wrenching as well!
This was a historical fiction type of book and not at all what I was expecting from this author!
Thank you NetGalley and Xpresso book tours for this jaw dropping Arc!

This book was a gripping historical fiction based on the mountain Meadows massacre, and I had never heard of this before. It is not something you read in the history books, but it should be. The story was so descriptive on the tragedy that these people endured and the turns that it took that you didn’t see coming. You fall in love with all of the characters, even the ones who were related to the men behind the massacre.

This book is not my usual genre but given that it was written by one of my favorite authors I had to give it a try and I am glad I did! It is based on the true story of the Mountain Meadows Massacre and the author describes the viewpoint and heartache from each side. This was a fast paced read. I usually describe her books as ‘easy’ reads but there was nothing easy about this one. It hits all of the triggers so be aware if you have any, it can’t be told any other way.

Noelle did such an amazing job on this! I will read everything she writes.
This reads more as a a historical-fiction than a thriller, it’s about mountain meadows massacre- told in multiple point of views of three women
I live in Utah and it wasn’t until this book that I heard of what happened and it has made me want to learn more.
Truly heartbreaking and sad, but a story that is worth reading, but don’t go in blind and check the trigger warning beforehand.
Thank you so much NetGalley and the publisher for this eArc for an honest review!

I could not say enough great things about this book! Could literally feel the emotions of the characters. I actually went and researched the Mountain Meadows massacre when I finished because I found it so heartbreaking and raw and it was unbelievable this isn’t talked about. I love this authors work. The writing style literally puts you right there and the story stays intense the entire book. Great read, wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

•Genre(s):
General Fiction (Adult), Historical Fiction, Mystery & Thrillers
•Details:
This is based on the true story of the Mountain Meadows Massacre in Utah that claimed the lives of 120 Mormons in 1857.
3 different POVs
-Katrina Huff is the mother of 6 year old survivor Nancy
-Lucy Robison is a Mormon Utah resident
-Sally Kahpeputz is a teenager of Bannock Tribe
*Honorable mention:
Emma Willis is a girl in a Mormon family who has feelings that she doesn't belong.
Reading about the three female characters and what they went through during this time was so captivating and memorable. The character building was so well done. The characters were all very different, had different beliefs, different ways of living, and had different paths they were on in order to get to this place.
•Thoughts along the way:
I really enjoy Ihli's writing style. I've read other books of hers in the past and I thought this was another thriller. When I discovered that it was also historical fiction, I became less excited (I've failed to enjoy historical fiction in the past). Her writing style really kept me interested (and emotional) until the last page.
I live in Utah and have learned about the LDS (Mormon) faith over the past 8 years. This story is incredibly heartbreaking and powerful.
I'm not sure if this is a "slow burn" or if I'm just absorbing the words slowly as it's a book that's out of my preferred genre.
The research and personal history Ihli put into this book is astounding. She also honors the memory of those who lost their lives in this tragedy.
This is a heavy story that I'm surprised I've never heard of as a true crime junkie and resident of Utah.
Why is this horrid piece of history so silent to locals?
This book was haunting, raw, beautiful, devastating, tragic, and shattering

Oh gosh! What to say about this one? I love Noelle West Ihli's thrillers. Well, this is not one of those. Yes, it is thrilling, in a brutally devastating sort of way, but it is more of a historical story. She has based this story on The Meadow Mountain Massacre which took place in Utah in the mid-1800's. 120 people travelling to California slaughtered. This story centers on fictitious characters and their families. The author makes you feel and care so deeply for them that when the inevitable comes, you are almost overwhelmed with emotion. The horrors that humans inflict on other humans are real. But having said all this, the story still manages to not be a downer. This is a testament to the immensely talented author. Be sure and read her notes also. Fascinating and I am now researching the real story. All this interest in history from me. A girl who has zero interest in historical fiction. Well done, Noelle. Well done.
Thank you to #NetGalley, Noell West Ihli and Dynamite Books for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
I will post my review to Amazon, Facebook and other retail and social media sites upon publication.
