This was a cute sports romance but there was SO much potential to make it amazing 😭

It started out really strong- our FMC Lottie gets hired as the physical therapist for an NFL team, and *surprise surprise* enter the grumpy NFL player, Nolan, recovering from an injury during his last season. Which I LOVE, don’t get me wrong!!! Lottie was driven & determined to be successful and I really admired that about her. Nolan was the typical grumpy MMC with a hidden soft side and I loved him! So no issues with the characters really.

The story was just TOO wordy and really started to drag. There was so much back & forth with their relationship and being friends then lovers then friends I was like ??? MAKE UP YOUR MIND 🤣!! I wish we had more on-page chemistry and tension. I really couldn’t understand why the characters liked each other, outside of proximity leading to attraction honestly. This was a closed-door romance which I also didn’t expect, but it was done nicely!

Overall, I liked this but it was just missing something.

Thank you Netgalley & the author for this arc!!

really enjoyed reading the first book in this series so I was excited to receive a copy of this one too! The romance between Lottie and Nolan was cute. I just wanted them to have a little more chemistry together. Overall a nice sports romance!

I really enjoyed Ally Weigand’s first book in this series so I was excited to receive another ARC for Going For Two.

Overall I enjoyed this book! Sports Romances aren’t my usual go to genre but I like these. I enjoy the characters, friendships and found family portrayed in these books. I felt like there was a little something missing between the main characters, I wish they had just a little more detail and chemistry? I can’t quite put my finger on it. But I gave this book a very solid 3.75 star! I liked it a lot and I look forward to hopefully a third book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book before the release. I was also able to read the first book in the series this way. I love the writing style of Ally Wiegand. Sports romance is definitely one of my favorite sub genres of romance. This book follows quarterback, Nolan, and the physio therapist, Lottie. Lottie is no nonsense. Nolan is so stubborn. But they strike a deal that works for them. Nolan ended up being the lovable teddy bear and watching the relationship form felt so real. The side characters were also great. This book had a great plot and not a lot of spice which really worked for the novel.

This book was fine closed door but steamy. I received a copy from netgally My biggest issue was that it just didn’t feel like there was enough tension. Everything that was an obstacle was cleared pretty easily. Bot Lottie and Nolan are good people that want to date, but maybe shouldn’t because she is a physical therapist and he is the star quarterback. She has some baggage with her absentee father. But still it just felt like smooth sailing. Which is sometimes a great feeling in a book. It’s an easy read.

Nolan is a quarterback for the Chicago Bobcats and recovering from an injury. Lottie is the physical therapist who is going to get him back on the road to recovery. Lottie is dealing with childhood trauma and creates a bucket list of things she wants to experience. Nolan agrees to be cooperative with the rehab plan Lottie has designed for him while helping her check off her bucket list items. Their relationship goes from being professional to intimate quickly. This was a very sweet football romance. I really enjoyed Ally Weigands writing. Although this is a feel good romance Weigand delves deeper into mental health issues which gives this story more depth. The spice level is very low, but I loved watching Nolan go from being a grumpy patient to a loving and supportive partner. The supporting characters provide laughter to the dialogue and we see appearances of characters from her previous book First Base. Overall, I would recommend picking up this feel good romance.

I tried finishing the book, just like I did for the first book of the series, but I couldn't feel the chemistry between Lottie and Nolan no matter how much I dive deeper into the book.

Going for Two is about Lottie, a doctor who gives physio treatment to the Chicago Bobcats' players. Nolan, the team's quarterback, got injured and is currently playing his last season. Lottie feels she's missing out on life because she has been career-driven all her life, and Nolan can't process the fact that he's about to retire because the sport was everything he knew.

The storyline is great, I admit, but I could not connect to the characters, which I always look for when it comes to reading books. What I enjoyed about this book is that Lottie's struggles are written so well and realistically. I think I could relate to her because I also think I'm missing out on my life.

Overall, this would definitely the books for people who thinks that they're missing out on life because all they do is work, and for people who loves sports romances.

Thank you to NetGalley, author and publisher for the ARC in exchange of my honest review.

Once again Ally Wiegand has written sports romance that makes my heart so so happy! I loved how Nolan and Lottie are written, as real people working through their own issues and traumas, while still trying to give their best to another person.

Ally Wiegand has perfectly mixed the sports romance and the workplace romance in her latest tale. I was a fan of Wiegand's first book in this series. Her ability to write a fully formed FMC is her true talent. Thoroughly enjoyed.

I just really could not stand Lottie or Nolan. Their chemistry was just not there for me and I could force myself to finish this.

Charlotte “Lottie” Thompson, a no-nonsense physical therapist, is assigned to help legendary quarterback Nolan Hill rehab his injury, giving him one last shot at the Super Bowl. Sparks fly as their two stubborn personalities clash, but their fiery banter soon reveals an undeniable chemistry. With everything on the line, will they overcome their differences to score love?

Going for Two is a touchdown in every way (pun intended)!

Lottie is a powerhouse—a strong, assured woman thriving in a male-dominated field, and I loved how fiercely she held her ground against Nolan’s grumpy, hardheaded antics. While Nolan, for his part, is equal parts infuriating and endearing, with layers of vulnerability beneath his tough exterior that make his personal growth so satisfying.

Their banter was sharp, hilarious, and filled with sizzling chemistry. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was short-lived (which I liked) since their relationship fairly quickly evolved into a reluctant friendship/work partnership as they worked through their issues.

With found family vibes and Lottie and Nolan growing into stronger people together, this football romance is a must-read!

Tropes:
-enemies to -overs
-sports (football) romance
-workplace womance
-quarterback x team's physical therapist
-forced proximity
-strong heroine in a male-dominated field
-slow burn
-found family

If you're craving grumpy/sunshine sports romance with a side of enemies to lovers, buckle up, because Going for Two by Ally Wiegand is the book of your dreams! 🏈✨

Meet Nolan Hill, a legendary quarterback with a damaged career, and a massive chip on his shoulder. He’s got one last shot at the Super Bowl… but there’s one big problem: that nagging injury that might end it all. Enter Lottie Thompson, a fiery, smart-as-heck physical therapist who knows exactly what’s standing between Nolan and his comeback. And guess what? Nolan’s NOT happy about it. 😂

These two are fire and ice—Nolan’s grumpy, stubborn attitude vs. Lottie’s kickass determination to get him back on the field (and maybe into her heart… 😉). From day one, their chemistry is off the charts 🔥, but they’re both too proud to admit it. The tension between them is so thick, you can practically feel the heat through the pages. But as their rivalry heats up, so do their feelings for each other—and let’s just say, things get intense (both on and off the field 👀).

Going for Two is packed with swoon-worthy moments, laughs, and some seriously steamy tension. It’s the perfect mix of sports action, slow-burn romance, and a couple who can’t stay away from each other. If you love a good enemy-to-lovers story with a dash of gruff hero and a heroine who isn’t afraid to put him in his place, you NEED this book in your life. 💥

Trust me, this one is a touchdown. 🙌

This book was so good! I loved both of the main characters and their relationship. I enjoyed the way that they both supported each other and the banter between the two was so good. I loved the football parts and how much attention that it got. I also loved all the side relationships. I loved Olivia and her relationship with the her. Same with Derek and I hope we get to see Olivia and Derek. Tommy and Maggie making appearances was appreciated. Overall this was so good and enjoyable. I read it so fast. I can’t wait for the rest of this series!

Lottie has worked hard to get where she is. Maybe a little too hard. Now that she's landed her dream job with the Chicago Bobcats, maybe it's time for het to slow down a little and enjoy the rest of her life. Give herself a yes day, actually celebrate Thanksgiving for once, wear matching pjs on Christmas morning. She just needs to tackle the grumpy, standoffish, legendary quarterback Nolan Hill first.

Read if you like:
-Workplace Romance
-Stubborn x Sunshine
-Figuring out what you really want in life
-Forbidden Romance

I really enjoyed this book. Grumpy x Sunshine is always a favorite of mine, but something about it when the Grumpy is more Stubborn than anything else really makes me kick up my heels. Add in the forbidden workplace elements and I'm totally in. I love that Lottie spoke her mind, both when it came to her job and her heart. But I also liked that Nolan didn't back down. They had such great chemistry and respect for each other. The ending was super cute! And Ally seemed to be hinting at the next couple, which has me excited!

This is a fun, entertaining read. Nolan and Lottie are intriguing, complex, wounded, strong, relatable, interesting, entertaining characters. I enjoyed their romance ant the path it took to get to their HEA. These two are fun to spend time with. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. I love the found family aspect of the story and the role it plays. The story is easy to read and get into.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story is about Lottie & Nolan. Lottie is a Physical Therapist to the Chicago bobcats where she works hard to prove herself in the male dominated space, even when Nolan refuse her physio treatment. When Nolan's injury starts to affect his Super bowl dream he decides to strike a deal with Lottie. He'll follow her rehab plan and in exchange he will help her check things off her bucket list. The banter. The tension. The connection.

I love how Lottie knows what it is she wants and goes for it without hesitation. Also how she helps Nolan see things in a new perspective. I love how Nolan goes after what he wants and does whatever it takes. The way he doesn't want anything to do with Lottie at first but becomes obsessed with her after slowly getting to know her. These two are complete opposite but balance each other out in the best way.

3/5 recommend this book. If you like closed door then this is for you. But it felt a tad slow in my opinion and felt like way to much inner monologue for me. Kinda got bored.

Lottie and Nolan are such a sweet book couple. They really complimented each other on an equal level. Not one of the main characters felt overshadowed by the other or that you were missing out on one of their POVs. The story was very fast paced and was super engaging so it was easy to read through. I had such a good time read this. It was also fun to see her characters from First Base make appearances. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cute sports romance!

This is a fun, heartwarming sports romance. I thought both characters were written well and I especially liked Lottie's character. I did find myself struggling at times to stay interested at times, but I did finish it and it was good. I liked the trainer/player aspect and that they were somewhat "enemies to lovers" but I would say more dislike than enemies.

I liked the first book in the series better than this one, but will definitely read the next one when it comes out.

Cute football romance. I loved seeing the mention of characters from the previous book. I loved the moments Lottie and Nolan shared in getting to know each other, but also facing deeper issues together. Hope to see more from Derek!
