Olivia and Riley have met before but now they wii be working in close proximity. Will love find a way or will the past get in the way. You can never go wrong with a book written by or with Radclyffe.
Goodreads
In 'Wild Fire', we meet Olivia, who has just been pushed out of her toxic Manhattan job following months of harassment.
When her best friend Elizabeth calls to commiserate, she also offers Olivia a job working for her at the Red Sky Ranch in Arizona. Elizabeth has many plans for the ranch and surrounding land she and her wife Kelsey own, far too many for her to work on alone.
Although unsure about leaving behind her ageing parents and her city lifestyle, Olivia agrees. Of course, the smoking hot firefighter, Riley, who is best friends with Elizabeth's wife, may also have swayed her decision!
Riley is scarred both inside and out following a tragic incident that occurred whilst her crew were fighting wild fires.
No matter how broken Riley thinks she is, she can't deny the incendiary attraction and lust she has for Olivia.
Will Olivia be brave and step outside her comfort zone to welcome the feelings growing between them? Will she stop telling herself it's just a fling with Riley? Will Olivia face her fears and commit to staying in Arizona?
Will Riley learn to forgive herself and acknowledge that she's deserving of Olivia's love?
This is a great book with fully rounded characters, stunning scenery, firefighting at its hottest, and a good portion of spice.
This is Radclyffe and Julie Cannon doing what they do best.
Please note that whilst this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

A somewhat classic city-meets-country romance, Wild Fire takes us to Red Sky Ranch, where we meet Olivia (the quintessential New Yorker) and Riley (a country firefighter). Both of them have their own emotional baggage that impacts their relationship, not the least of which is grappling with living thousands of miles apart when Olivia is not at the ranch with her friends. The story is full of emotion, connection, family (and found family) with a dose of your classic country elements as well.
While this is the second book in the series, I read this novel without having read the first in the series and was able to follow and connect with the characters just fine.
I received an ARC of this ebook from NetGalley.
I have not read the first book in the Red Sky Romance series, but I think not a major issue since this book is focusing on another couple.
Always enjoyable to read a book with a hot and troubled firefighter as one of the main characters. Interesting to see how Riley finally is ready to find love with Olivia and stop feeling guilt all the time. Olivia also needs to grow as a person since until now she has been all about work, big city life and hide the fact she is into women from her parents.
I think the book would have benefitted if digging a bit deeper into their feelings and shown more of their chemistry but overall, a good read.
Book 2 of the series takes us back to The Red Sky Ranch. City girl Olivia return to shake Riley’s life. Both women grapple with their own fears and baggage. Olivia, torn between her family obligations and newfound feelings, and Riley, battling the guilt of her past, are forced to confront what they truly want from life. As their connection deepens, the stakes get higher, and the emotional tension is palpable. I enjoyed this book, a perfect blend of heart, heat, and healing!
