This is a must add for any elementary library or SEL program! Sometimes superhero books can be a bit simplistic so I was pleasantly surprised with the complexity and layers to this title and the ways in which the author discusses mistakes and how we all make them. In the book the author compares mistakes superhero might make (like forgetting their suit at home) with a mistake a kid might make (wearing slippers instead of changing into shoes). In this way we not only see superheroes as real people but ourselves as superheroes as well. The author further reiterates this by talking about how to repair when we make mistakes which stood out to me as an appealing feature about this book: most books about mistakes talk about how we all make them but not what to do when we make mistakes. The fact that this one teaches us how to move forward after making a mistake sets it apart as a truly excellent title, especially for SEL. One example in the book was "Super Heroes talk about their mistakes so they are easier to fix." You see a child and parent talking about the mistake in a positive (not punitive) way, which teaches parents how to respond to children's mistakes as well. The illustrations are appealing and mimic the comic book style, which will engage children. This is one I plan to add to my home library and buy for my son's elementary school library. It would also be great for an OT or counseling office library addition as well. Highly recommend!

Do Super Heroes Make Mistakes would be a great read for preschool and early elementary students. It helps explain how everyone makes mistakes, even super heroes, and that what you do after the mistake is what's important. This a a great tie in for kids who can be pretty super hero obsessed.

The discussion questions and activity suggestion at the end are a great addition and would be extra helpful if this was read in a classroom setting.

Thanks to Capstone and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this book - Do Superheroes Make Mistakes?

This a fun and easy read that shows even the biggest heroes can mess up. It's like when your favorite player strikes out or your superhero accidentally saves the wrong person. We have recently attended the Batman exhibition in London with the props from the movies too so we thought that this was great - this is a book for everyone!

I loved the images and they really brought the book to life - the book has some great messaging that it is ok to make mistakes, even Super Heroes make mistakes but we, and they, should and can all learn from them!

It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!

Not Justice League Super Heroes making silly little mistakes just like us - love it!

It's a also a fun and beautiful way to introduce comic books to young ones which are both action-packed, as well as uplifting!
Will definitely be diving into more of these comics with my son!

Thank you NetGalley and Capstone for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I wasn't expecting much from this book, as most children's stories featuring Marvel characters tend to be pretty generic. However, my 4-year-old absolutely loved it! It sparked some meaningful conversations about how we all make mistakes, which was a pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be picking up a physical copy once it's released!

This book was great! Loved how good examples of mistakes the superheroes made and what they can do to fix them going forward. New solutions! The illustrations were great and the words were easy to read for small children.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

This is really cute, and the art is lovely. I also really love that it uses the Timmverse hero designs, which are my favorite. The central concept is also a really good one, about how it's okay to make mistakes, and it's what you do after that, that matters most. In a social media world where people are often not allowed to make mistakes and recover from them, this is an important book to have for kids.

The book has cool pictures and tells a story about the Justice League getting into a bit of trouble. It teaches us that it's okay to make mistakes and that we can learn and grow from them.

If you're a superhero fan or just like stories about cool heroes, this book is a must-read!

Average character education book for young children. The superhero images will increase appeal to a young audience who can't get enough of superheroes but there isn't enough superhero content to support re-readings. The heroes are more decoration that a part of the content.
