This book is technically for kids but it's a great book for all ages! It encourages anyone to just jump into writing, no matter what. I also love that it gives examples of ways people can start to write and what they can write. Plus, the illustrations are colorful and match the theme of the book perfectly!
This book was really cute. I thought the rhyme scheme was really great, and would be awesome for kids. The art style was also lovely, and I would recommend it to anyone ith creative little kids I know.
Such an encouraging book to inspire writing anywhere, anytime, alone or with others. “Write what brings you joy – have FUN! Writing is for EVERYONE!” This book has beautiful rhyming verse, and I appreciate the diversity of characters in the delightfully vibrant illustrations. A reassuring reminder of the power of expressing thoughts and ideas in a variety of formats, in an approachable and engaging manner.

My emerging writer has been inspired by this accessible book since our first shared reading and has not stopped experimenting with various writing formats and ways to share ideas!
I love how this book encourages kids to write *anything* their heart desires, at *any time* of the day (or night). This book will no doubt inspire creativity in young readers and start good habits early. What I mean by good habits is things like writing every day, or writing whenever an idea comes to mind. Additionally, this book shows kids that writing is (virtually) limitless. The author makes sure to illustrate how you can write anything you want, and anything you can think up. This is so important and a very heartwarming message for a book to have, while still being simple and concise. Lastly, the illustrations heavily reflect the creativity and multitude of things that your imagination can think of, which I loved. Bravo!
Gorgeous illustrations and a lilting rhyme scheme, this picture book not only introduces children to the many different types of writing (recipes, songs, stories, articles, etc.) but also lets them know that there isn't just one way to do it. The encouraging message at the end is a great tool for parents and teachers to encourage children to share their message with the world. Write here, write now.
Cute illustrations with vibrant colour and a simple, adorable art style. I loved how the characters look painted. Teaches an important message about the power of creativity and expressing your thoughts and stories in words and writing your experiences, which is great for kids to learn from a young age!
A short but beautifully illustrated picture book with delightful rhyming messages of encouragement for young children and emerging writers.
This is a story about putting pen to paper and just writing. About ways to make it easier, and ways to start and never stop. This clever book rhymes and the illustrations pop off the page. This book is simple but says everything and more that any kid who loves a story might use to get started creating their own.
This book is a fun cheerleader for writing. Fun images with dynamic movement, this book stays focused on its purpose of encouraging the reader to write no matter what! While it scratches the surface of the benefits of writing, it glosses over the difficulties a writer may have. Would be more meaningful if the reality of difficulties was approached and ways to positively move past them were offered. The star-pencil guide holds promise. Hopefully as this proof evolves, so does that little avatar with helpful guidance.
Thanks to NetGalley for sharing this DRC with me for an honest review.
This engaging rhyme encourages all children to write, in whatever medium and format works best for them. This will inspire young writers, both those who have been reluctant and eager to write and acknowledge all the times they write, which may not seem like much.
This is an excellent addition to any school as it can be used to get the younger grades pumped up for writing. It may also be a great fit for a home collection to inspire a young writer.
Thank you to Capstone and Net Galley for the eARC! All opinions are my own.
Cute! A very simple rhyme structure is used to encourage kids (or anyone reading) to start writing. I think developing early writing skills is SO IMPORTANT so I'm glad a book like this exists! The "story" itself is pretty simple but there are some great resources in the back that explain the "why" and "how" of it all. A perfect book to have in a classroom.
“Write Here, Write Now” by Rebecca Gardyn Levington is motivating for reluctant young writers. Each page comes with bite-sized text so kids can think about an idea before another one is presented to them. The illustrations are also very engaging. I particularly enjoyed the star-shaped pencil that appears throughout the book. I look forward to sharing this book with my students!
This is a wonderful book to encourage young readers to become young writers. Readers are encouraged to write anywhere at any time and to write anything they want to write. This is such an important thing to encourage at a young age because people who read and write well can accomplish so much. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.
This picture book encourages kids to explore creative writing. The simple, rhyming text tells them that they can write anywhere and at any time, and describes different approaches that they might take to telling a story. The book also names different types of writing projects, including screenplays, articles, and journals, instead of just focusing on writing a short story or novel. The illustrations are also very appealing, with lots of soft colors and diverse representation.
This book encourages its readers to express themselves through writing, and to know that they can change people's minds and enrich the world by sharing parts of themselves through their work. My one notable critique is that the author tells you to share "your truth." My eyes roll so hard every time I see that phrase. You can share the truth about what happened to you. You can share the truth about your life. But if something is actually true, then it's just true, and it's not "your" truth. Personalizing something in that way just undermines it, making it sound like it's just your private feeling that has no basis in reality outside yourself.
Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I would recommend it to people who are looking for an upbeat, joyful way to encourage writing. This would be great in a classroom context, and it would be a wonderful gift for an aspiring writer.
This was such a cute read! Its a perfect book for kids who are starting to learn to write or even middle school aged kids who are starting to learn essays! I would definitely purchase this book for my son!
Thank you NetGalley and Capstone for the Advanced Reader Copy!
Gripping rhythm, stunning artwork, and a fantastic message. I cannot wait for my future children to read this one, and I'll be recommended it to my local library when it comes out as well. I think this would definitely instill an interest in writing in any kid.
I loved this book! Its diversity of children with such a strong message is refreshing. I would read it to my class and add it to my class library. The illustrations are beautiful.
I will recommend that my colleagues get copies of this book. It’s an especially good book for the beginning of the year for teaching students why we write and helping them brainstorm ideas for future writing pieces.
Love! Love! Love! I love this book so much.
The rhyming pattern is smooth and unforced, so it has a wonderful, unstuttered flow. The art is vibrant and celebratory. And the message about writing... Yes! I feel absolutely inspired. I want to write!
This is the perfect book for inspiring children—either those who already love to write, or those that might need a bit more of a nudge.
Everyone is a writer. They can write wherever they are, about whatever brings them joy, and make a difference in the world. The artwork is inclusive, the message sincere, and the rhyming on point. I can see this being a great mentor text for young readers and writers. I hope to snag a physical copy for my bookshelf after it is published in January.
Until then I am grateful for NetGalley and Capstone for providing me with a digital copy. Add this to your TBR. You are going to love it as much as I did.
