I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. If you are trying to plan a tiny garden in a tiny space this book will help you with the best layout.
This is a very cute workbook and I could see it being benefical for gardening lovers but as a workbook, it's just not right for my library.
I found this title to be a one stop shop of garden planting! I struggle with organization and when you garden annually it can be so helpful to be able to look back at planting dates. This title sets you up for success! I can see how easy it will be to plan for the year to come and how helpful it will be to have a written record of the season past. Cuts out the unnecessary and packed full of the really important stuff. I will be using this resource for years to come! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for access to this incredibly helpful title! Gardeners new and old will love this title!
I found this planner to be a great tool for small and bigger farmers (but it you have a really tiny garden, it might be a bit too much for your needs).
It is very well organized and follows the gardening seasons, filled with trackers, schedules and so on. What I did not expect was to find so many useful information and tips throughout it.
All in all, is very cute, easy to use and helps you a lot with being organized and finding all the information you need in one place
This book is not for a person who is just a casual backyard planter; this book is for someone who wants to start farming for profit. It is very informative for someone who would like to start a farm for a business.
This is an awesome planner book for a farmer or any individual with their own garden. I love the way it was laid out by the seasons of the garden. It is full of so many helpful charts to use to keep track of everything in the garden. It even has guides for things like testing soil, amending soil, etc. These can be helpful to someone new to gardening or someone who is experienced. I like that not only focused on thing to help with the gardening aspect of itself (like planting charts, inventories, etc.) but it also had sections to focus on goals for the garden or farm as well.. The planner pages themselves are nicely laid out, have cute graphics and will be great for using to plan the garden through the year!
I love this little comprehensive guide to small scale farming. It's a great guide and record book. Although I received the electronic form of the book via NetGalley, I'll be purchasing the print edition to fully use all of the features.
This planner is amazing!
I honestly thought I’d be looking through just planner pages and the detail and suggestions took me completely off guard.
If you’re new to gardening I highly recommend this planner. Honestly it has everything you need to start your garden to how to end the year and how to give your soil a break and/or what to plant to help make your soil nutrient dense again.
Overall I was extremely surprised and I hope to put this to good use starting spring of 2025n
This is a gorgeously illustrated guide for home gardeners. I’m always looking for ways to improve my harvests, and I love the charts and guides in this—very helpful for when you don’t even know where to start—even when you’ve been planting for years! But I don’t consider myself an expert by any means, and I’d come back to the information here again and again.
Thank you to the publisher for making The Tiny Farm Planner available to read and review through NetGalley.
The Tiny Farm Planner is a terrific tracking tool and diary which will be so useful not only for small farms but avid gardeners. It is a helpful reminder of tasks needing attention throughout the year. Using this planner year after year will also provide useful data to help plan and grow year after year. It’s all about learning from your successes and failures in the garden and this planner will help you do just that by keeping your records in one handy spot. There are also some helpful tips throughout for those thinking of taking their hobby to the next level when it comes to yields and keeping organized. I’ve been involved in farming both small and large scale for 5 decades and would certainly use this both in business and for my own personal garden.
Thank you to NetGalley and Cool Springs Press for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest opinion.
I have a very small garden and have been wanting an organizer of sorts that would help me figure out how to make my garden even better and more sustainable. This little planner works well and even has some great tips. I'm definitely using it next season!
This is mostly a workbook with checklists, containing some information. Written from the author’s experience managing her own 4-acre farm full-time in Arkansas. She's developed ways of planning her needs, her time, things that need to get done at a certain time or before a particular date. It's organized from Preseason to Winterseason, to using the Postseason to winterize, evaluate, inventory, and plan for next year. It’s an all-around planning guide, from where you want to plant things, staggered plantings to get crops throughout the season, what to do what seasons. Some of the worksheets are to plan out your day, and includes worksheets about what you want over the next 10 years, along with planned costs and expenditures. Focused on organic farming, she suggests interplantings for pest control, and organic soil amendments to change soil PH or fertilizers. There are charts to track weather, and charts to evaluate seed types and varieties for future plantings.
It is overall a great book. I would have liked to see where to get more information on what seeds to start when in your area, such as USDA or talk to local gardeners and farmers. Also, on planning for equipment: How much or how big or specialized equipment do you need. Do you have to buy it, or could you rent, borrow, or buy something used? Each reader’s situation is different.
This is not the book I expected. I expected it to focus on TINY - such as the microgreens I grow in the window with about 9 square feet over the winter.
This planner helps you organize tasks by season. With reminders and charts for things you may not have thought of, planning your farm with be fun! End of year crop reviews, soil testing & amendment tracking, Jill has thought of everything.

I absolutely loved this little book, easy to make your own bullet journal from her ideas or even use her book and keep repurchasing her journal.
She left nothing off the process and the visual charts to us made it so easy to really grasp the process and not fear failure.
Absolutely must buy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. (via Netgalley)
Easy read filled with all season gardening tips and quite possibly every chart you could ever need in gardening.
This planner is well laid out for any farmer of gardener. There is great information for planning and keeping track of plantings and harvest.
I wish my father were alive. This would have been a perfect gift for him. Though, it gave me inspiration and a good structure to keep and improve farming.
