A World Full of Christmas Crafts is a non-fiction activity book filled with 24 different activities to do throughout the festive season. With the book containing 24 activities and crafts, it makes a fun alternative to an advent calendar with easy to do activities to make decorations and recipes.
This would make a great book to celebrate and learn about the festive period with your children and have fun, quality time making memories together. The crafts are rather simple but there is room to add to them if you're quite crafty. I enjoyed that the crafts link loosely to different cultures too.
Full of creative and easy tasks for children and adults-alike! This simple book has simply the best ideas to keep the family engaged this holiday season.

This book is a wonderful. It takes you all over the world with Christmas crafts and treats to show the traditions of the different countries. The crafts are easy and unique. All in all a fun way to learn more about Christmas worldwide.
This is a lovely Christmas Craft book and something I've not seen before. Each section told you a little about how Christmas is celebrated in a different country and then had a craft activity linked to it. There was lots of variety in the different crafts and none were too tricky to complete or needed too many resources. The instructions were easy to follow and had plenty of illustrations to help along the way.
A great selection of different things to do, along with learning a little more about the world.
I enjoyed this book a lot, and since it if filled with 24 activities, it is perfect to use in December as an easy guide for daily activities.
The crafts are simple and quite common, they are linked to different countries around the world so we also get a peek into those cultures, which is a great addition and transforms this book in a great learning tool for preschoolers.
I would have liked to see countries that have a richer culture regarding Christmas (for example, my country is not listed and we have lots of traditions for Christmas compared to countries where the holiday was introduced recently).
All in all, while the crafts are not super unique, having all in one place and linked to their origins makes this book worth in my opinion.
A great book with lots of different crafting ideas linked to Christmas, with information on different traditions around the world.
Great to share with children to learn about different cultures and keep them busy with lots of ideas in the build up to Christmas.

From the start, A World Full of Christmas Crafts feels like stepping into a cosy workshop filled with endless possibilities. Mortimer’s approach to crafting is both inspiring and practical, making even the most intricate projects seem doable. Each page bursts with colourful illustrations and clear instructions, guiding you through a variety of festive crafts from around the world.
What I loved most about this book is the diversity of the projects. It’s not just about the usual Christmas ornaments and wreaths (though there are plenty of those!). You get to explore crafts that are unique to different cultures, which adds a rich, global perspective to the holiday season. For instance, making Danish hearts or Mexican Piñatas not only provided a fun activity but also a cultural insight.
The materials list is straightforward, and I found that most items were things I already had at home or could easily source. Plus, the book’s layout is user-friendly, with step-by-step guides that make the process smooth, even for someone who might be new to crafting.
Another highlight is the personal touch Helen brings to her writing. Each craft comes with a little anecdote or historical tidbit, making the experience feel intimate and engaging. It’s like having a crafty friend share her secrets and tips with you.
The book is warm and inviting, perfect for sharing with your children or class, and creating beautiful decorations and gifts that carry a piece of holiday spirit.
A World Full of Christmas Crafts has 24 ways to celebrate the festive season in child friendly easy crafts. By Helen Mortimer it is a delightful inspiring step-by-step illustrated book. Children and adults will receive so many wonderful ideas to try this season that includes recipes, paper crats and easy to make decorations. There is some adult supervision needed and some small purchases that would need to be made but nothing expensive.
In fact, this is the kind of idea book that will have you choosing favorites each year while trying one new craft too. The simply stable scene is a favorite of mine. Just looking at the book was interesting and motivating. I found that I enjoyed looking through the lovely book which encouraged me to look at Christmas from a child’s viewpoint, one of simple pleasures instead of elaborate over-the-top stress.
I loved this accessible collection of crafts from around the globe. The instructions are clear and there is a nice balance of food and crafty activities to try. I really liked finding out more about the different customs associated with this special time of year and I'm looking forward to December so that I can try these for myself.

This was such a fun read! It's a great way to build fun with children by learning about celebrations around the world, getting to learn about other cultures and try out new ways to celebrate the holiday!
This is a lovely christmassy book - perfect for families looking to embrace the festive spirit! It is a virtual journey around the world exploring each country's festive tradition with a paper craft, recipe, or other fabulous creation to encourage children to learn, create and enjoy the festive season in a multicultural fashion!
A helpful and clear ‘you will need’ section accompanies each activity with templates for all the crafts featured at the end of the book.
I love how this book encourages children to think about a Christmas beyond presents and their own immediate lifestyle. The book is also beautifully illustrated and a pleasure to behold for adults as well as kids.
The recipe and tradition around the Syrian pancakes looks superb (and sounds delicious - I will definitely be trying this one!) There are so many other great crafts - plenty of crafts and easy to source materials make it a cheap and easy way to make memories! Highly recommended!
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance review copy.
I love Christmas and I am looking forward to using these for my own decorations and showing these crafts to friends and family alike.
Beautiful book! I've been searching for a book with Christmas activities for ages, this one is perfect!
Each page features a Christmas activity/tradition from a different country. You'll get a brief history of the tradition in that country plus an instructions for completing the accompanying craft. The instructions are well thought out and easy to follow, the book also includes lists of needed materials for each project.
And what really makes this Christmas book a five star book are the illustrations! They're absolutely gorgeous, I definitely wasn't expecting that in a book for crafts, but it was a pleasant surprise.
What a fantastic way to bring Christmas around the world right into your home! I absolutely would recommend this book.
Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of this book!
What a good collection of Christmas crafts from around the world! I found the instructions for craft-making short, sweet and simple, therefore easy for children to create, albeit depending on the child's age and ability; some supervision from an adult could be needed. In my opinion, besides the crafts, curious children will find the traditions of cultures other than their own, of interest.
Illustrations and pages are colorful and eyecatching, lending even greater interest to the whole. I feel many hours of fun and creativity await ...
