Not wanting to have his people fall into his irresponsible brothers hands he goes a’ hunting. Find a young lady will sing to enter into a quick marriage might not be.s difficult as it seems. As long as both are honest with each other and themselves. But can they really be open about thwart they want?
I really enjoyed this tale although I was thinking it was going to have a slightly different climax and problem. I enjoyed how the story was spun and written into the beauty of the romance itself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with guidelines.
Finlay Primrose, Earl of Rosebery, must marry by his twenty-eighth birthday or his worthless twin brother will inherit the title, all the property and the money. At a garden party he meets Lady Willamina Watson. A widow, she has no desire to marry, but her cousin is threatening to possess her home and money. Finlay is already losing his heart and proposes marriage. Mina considers it a fake marriage, but Finlay makes her feel safe and wanted. Unfortunately all hope for a successful marriage seems lost. Finlay isn't discouraged.
Why was there no explanation for the deception? An interesting twist and solution!
Descriptive sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.
When I got approved for this arc, I decided to read this series from the beginning . Generally I like the characters in the series and I was really enjoying this story until about 80% in when a really strange ( and unnecessary) twist happened and really just left a lot of question and had me going wtf and why ??
Still I’ll read the rest of the series when they are available
Willamina is a widow who did not have a good first marriage and is reluctant to repeat the experience. Finlay must get married soon according to his father's will. I'll admit that it took me most of the book to warm to these two characters.
Along the way, we were reunited with Gwen and Nicholas, (from book one - Sweet Rogue O'Mine) and I was very happy to see these two characters! And they are still very much in love and to hear about all the younger siblings. To be honest, I cared more about the former characters than I did about the mcs in this book. I feel kind of bad about that.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
I enjoyed the entertaining book with its marriage of convenience and "he falls first" tropes. The plot is easy to read and well written, with some unexpected twists, a few steamy love scenes and very likeable characters.
The book is part of a series, but although you meet the characters from the previous instalments, it can be read on its own.
Finlay Primrose, the Earl of Rosebery, doesn't actually want to get married, but a clause in his late father's will forces him to marry a wife by his 28th birthday, otherwise the title and family property will pass to his good-for-nothing twin brother, who would ruin the property in no time.
After her unhappy first marriage, the widowed Lady Willamina Watson doesn't want to marry again, but after the accidental death of her parents, who had managed her late husband's inheritance for her and which is now being managed by her cousin and her father's heir, she is forced to remarry in order to gain access to her assets and fortune and that before the scandal that forced her to leave Inverness follows her to Edinburgh.
When the two meet at a garden party, Finlay is immediately attracted to Willamina, but it quickly becomes clear that she is not interested in a real marriage, so he offers her a "white marriage" with no further obligations, they just have to convince everyone of their love for each other. Willamina agrees, with the intention of having the marriage annulled at some point in the future…
All in all, an enjoyable quick read that I finished in one day!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This historical romance is set in Edinburgh and is part of a series. You can read each of the books on its own because the link is a group of friends.
Our hero this time is an Earl who must marry or lose his title. Our heroine is a widow whose cousin doesn't want the responsibility of her, so is insisting she marry again.
There are a few twists caused mainly by secrets. An enjoyable slightly steamy story with fabulous characters and lots of unusual things happening.
Great fun.
This story kept me glued to the pages with their drama and had me cheering them on to finding their happiness! I would recommend this book to all my friends and family.
The third book in this series is just as awesome as the first book. Finley has everything he wants in life. Peace, harmony and the single life. All that changes when he finds he's forced to marry or lose everything. A garden party brings him into contact with Willamena a widow who no one wants to associate with. A great tale with fabulous characters that will keep you turning page after page.
Findlay is an Earl who needs to marry to keep his title otherwise it will go to his wastrel twin brother.
He meets Willamina and decides she would be a perfect fit.
Willamina is ready to change her life but she has had a terrible first marriage and a scandal that haunts her.
Their relationship has a bumpy start with some surprising twists.
I enjoyed the passion and devotion of Findlay to his Earldom and Willamina.
Recommend this series.
I really enjoyed reading the previous two books in the Rogues of Redemption series so I was excited to read this book. It had that historical romance element that I was looking for and thought the overall feel worked well together with the other books. It was a strong story and had characters that I cared about. It worked with the genre perfectly and was invested in what was going on with the characters. I hope there is more in this series.
Destiny, Charade, Emotionally Rewarding Romance Story:
Finlay has no choice in the matter. He has to get married or lose everything he has inherited. So, what's a better placet to find a prospective bride but at one of those garden parties he dislikes so much.
Physically running into Willamina was the perfect encounter he needed.
A contrived romance begins and grows into a most emotionally packed and passionate love story. We follow these two through many horrendous and shocking situations before they reach a happy and beautiful ending.
I was totally captivated by this love story with two fabulous and intriguing characters that stole my heart.
The book is short enough I read it in one day. I truly could not put this book down.
💖Favorite Character: Finlay had the best personality. I loved how he treated Williamina.
