As someone who loves a good true crime podcast, I absolutely loved reading a book that featured a true crime podcaster as a MC. And while I wasn't accurate with the villain, the villain was on my suspect list this time at least.
Ridley and Colt both have their own traumas and pasts they are trying to work through. But when Ridley shows up wanting to work on a case that involves Colt's sister he isn't so keen on her being in town. But as Ridley starts digging and finding links to his sister's case and her sister's disappearance, things start happening.
This is definitely a dislike/hate to lovers situation and I loved that Ridley stood her crowd. And Ridley has a cat name Tater that dare I say was a great star of this book and probably my favorite pet character of any book ever? Tater served with some laughs and reminded me so much of a cat I once had. And I really enjoyed the side character so much!

🙏 Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca, NetGalley and the author for an advanced copy of All the Missing Pieces. All opinions are my own.

🎯 What I loved: Though Catherine Cowles uses a pretty similar format in all of her books, they all have a great build to the whodunnit where there are multiple potential perpetrators and All the Missing Pieces really kept me guessing the killer until the last possible second. There was a nice enemies to lovers plot with some great banter on top of the mystery so this was really a best of both worlds book. I enjoyed the podcast backdrop and that the specific crime that Ridley was investigating wasn't actually her own and that while the survivor was central to the story, she wasn't necessarily the protagonist which felt a little different than many of Cowles' other books. The way this all came together was satisfying and I liked Shady Cove. Although this is listed as a standalone, I can easily see Cowles turning this into a series and have my favorite characters for the other books already picked out!
🙅♀️ What I didn't: I've said it before and I'll say it again: I find the use of nicknames awkward and the ones in this book (Law Man and Chaos) were bizarre and overused. Other than that, this kept my heart racing and had me rooting for the main characters to connect and solve their cases and I'd definitely recommend it.

OMG!! This book was all and more of what I have come to expect from Catherine Cowles books.
I absolutely love her writing and her romantic suspense stories. She draws you in with engaging characters and a storyline that just keeps you turning the pages!!
This book was no different!! Definitely worth the read and one of my favorites by this author!!
If you love a story that has the best plot and just the right amount of spice then this is one you NEED to add to your TBR when it comes out in January!!
Catherine never misses but this one!!! Instantly became one of my absolute favorites by her.
I loved following Ridley along as she tried to figure out what happened to her sister. The banter between her and Colt was top tier. I loved the push and pull. Their chemistry felt so natural within the story, and I loved them together sooo much.
Every CC book I’m convinced I’ll FINALLY guess whodunnit but alas….. I was wayyyy way off again lol. The twist in this one may be my favorite yet! I love romantic suspense but this one had the extra murder mystery aspect that was a little different and so.. fun. All the stars ⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this digital ARC.

This was fabulous, the author was able to present some very challenging and emotional topics in a respectful way. As a true crime podcast listener and sucker for a grumpy sunshine romance trope this book truly hit everything for me.
I absolutely LOVED this book! There were so many wonderful things. The mystery and suspense were intriguing, interesting and held my attention from start to finish. The characters were very well developed. They could have jumped off the page. The romance between Ridley and Colter was organic and developed realistically. They had pet names for each other and normally that annoys me, but it just fit these characters. The character motivations, back stories and arcs fit perfectly for the story. The emotion was deep. I could feel what both the heroine and hero were feeling through the authors words. This was my first book by this author and I can not wait to go back and read her backlist. I enjoyed this book so much that I read it and then listened to it in audio. This is a fantastic romantic suspense and I highly recommend it! It was one of my favorite books of 2024. Huge thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks media for allowing me to read and review this book.
CATHERINE DOES IT AGAIN OMG!! Ahhh, I absolutely loved this book so so much! I was literally hooked from the very first page, and she had me hanging on the edge of my seat the entire time! I didn’t want to put this one down, and I love Ridley & Colt so much! And Tater & Bowser! This was amazing & I could not get enough.

Why is every new Catherine Cowles book my new favorite 😍 I’m just so obsessed with her. This book was perfect. It had EVERYTHING I wanted and it had the signature Catherine Cowles twist. Yall please add this to your list to read- she truly deserves all the hype.
Two of my favorite hobbies are reading romance and anything true crime. Put it them together and I am one happy girl! This book was different than Catherine’s usual fare, which I deeply appreciated; having read her entire backlist, I needed something different from her! I’m so glad to have read this story.
This book was so so good! It definitely shot up to one of my favorite Catherine Cowles book! I loved the mystery aspect and how she was investigating it. I thought it brought in the typical romantic thriller aspect that Catherine is known for, but in a different and refreshing way. I thought this was absolutely fantastic :)
I think this is competing for my favourite Catherine Cowles book I’ve ever read.
This plot honestly had be hooked from the first page I just couldn’t put it down. Our fmc has a true crime podcast where she investigates cold cases on the ground.
The romance between the two main characters was also so sweet
I honestly LOVVVED this book and no I did not guess who the suspect was. It was so good
5 Stars ... Every Law Man needs a little Chaos!
I loved this book! Ms Cowles had me guessing to the end. I'm usually pretty good at guessing who done it ... but this was not the case in this book. I didn't really like Colt at first ... he was so mean to Ridley, hoping she would leave town. I loved how Ridley just gave him smiles and took everything he dished out, but she never listened to him and did exactly what she wanted. This book had all the feels ... it made me laugh, cry and swoon. The electricity between Ridley and Colt was off the charts. This is a wonderful start to a new series and I can't wait for the next book!
Ridley's twin sister went missing when they were in college and Ridley felt responsible. She became a true crime podcaster covering cold cases wanting to help others ... but never giving up on finding her sister. She goes to Shady Cove believing that is where a serial killer started terrorizing women. Colt is the Sheriff in Shady Cove and doesn't want Ridley in his town bringing up the past. But Ridley doesn't let the grumpy Law Man chase her out of town, as she believes the key to finding her sister is in this small sleepy town.
I received an ARC courtesy of Sourcebooks Casablanca through NetGalley.
Catherine is a master at writing a story that will totally consume you! From the minute this book started until the very end, I was wrapped up in a story that I just had to know how it ended.
Ridley and Colt have some amazing banter. Ridley stands her ground, and she has so much strength that it is inspiring. Taking tragedy and building it into something special to help others. I loved her tenacity in this book!
Colt is the quiet sheriff that you have to love his grumpiness. I adored him, and the way he was always there to protect the ones he loved. The way he takes everything onto his own shoulders shows a lot of strength. But only one can bring him to his knees.
This book is wrapped with a beautiful, suspenseful bow. I could not figure it out... And I love it when Catherine still shocks me. She does it in the best ways.
Andi and Sebastian could not have done a better job with this audio. The way you get sucked into the story and the emotions while listening is magical! These two are a couple of my favorites, and it is because I always feel like I am in the story while listening. I love it when the narrators bring it to life so well that it can play out like a movie in your head.
Andi and Sebastian are the best at what they do.
I am obsessed already with this series, and it has just begun!
All the Missing Pieces was my first Catherine Cowles but I will definitely be diving into her backlist!
After losing her sister to a cold case disappearance, Ridley is set to help others put together the missing pieces of true crime cases. She solves them best in the small town cities themselves, setting her now in Shady Cove. She believes this town and Emerson's case are the missing puzzle piece she's been looking for to solve her sister's disappearance. She won't get by without the assistance of town sheriff Colter, who truly doesn't want her there. But they will have to come together to solve the case when threats come, with someone not wanting to be named the killer.
I let out the biggest gasp and then searched the killer's name in my Kindle because boy was I NOT guessing that person. The beautiful thing about All the Missing Pieces was that it kept me on my toes and made me NOT want to put it down because I needed to solve the case. I had several guesses of who could have been the killer and while some were a "nope" right on, there were others that made sense until the reveal was put out. While I liked the romance aspect with Riley and Colter, I felt more invested in the mystery aspect and wanted more of that when the romantic parts came out to play. I am curious if Cowles will continue with this story and their story and who may be up next in the cast of characters she crafted.
There is nothing more special than reading an advanced copy of your favorite author's book. This had all the special aspects of Catherine's books: a cozy small town, a found family, an emotional romance, and a suspense plot line that is impossible to guess. But like all her other books, there are aspects of this book that make it stand out amongst the rest, such as the crime podcast our FMC hosts or new side characters that I am desperate to befriend myself!
In this book, we watch Ridley seek answers to her own tragic story alongside Colt's. While their first encounters are cold and combative, we watch them learn more about each other and the walls between them slowly fall down. They relate to each other in ways that no one else can, showing the complex experiences of guilt and shame when someone you love goes through something traumatic. As they begin to seek answers together, the stakes are raised and they must face the growing feelings between them. As they pursue the truth, they also have to decide if they will pursue their happy ending as well.
This is my first Catherine Cowles book and I don’t know why. It was amazing! From the characters to the storyline it was the perfect romantic suspense book! I will definitely be adding this author’s books to my TBR especially when the rest of this series comes out!
Catherine Cowles is a queen of suspense romances and this time she added a True Crime podcast!
Her first traditionally published book is a long time coming and I’m cheering for all the public libraries that can introduce her to their readers. This fills a gap in romance collections.
We get traditional Catherine Cowles main heroine and hero giving all readers comfort through the suspense knowing that everything will be okay in the end. The plot is formulaic, but the details are unique. Twists and turns will keep readers guessing until the end.
I laughed. I cried. I felt warm and fuzzy, and I hope other readers will too.
Perfect for readers who love true crime, podcasts, and cozy romance with a hint of suspense. Please note readers should be aware tough topics are discussed.
Kicking myself for waiting so long to finally pick up a book by Catherine Cowles but this was a great place to start! If you like romantic suspense, stories about true crime podcasters, cold cases, small towns, serial killers, grumpy sherrifs, spunky cats, cute nicknames (Chaos + Lawman), strong family bonds, bad ass FMCs and great enemies to lovers slow burn, this is the book for you. It truly has it all and I was blown away. I also didn't see the end coming and can't wait for the next book in the Shady Cove series (I hope it's Colt's sister). This was also excellent on audio narrated by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York (two of my favs). Can we also take a minute to appreciate the gorgeous cover?? Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Catherine Cowles for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ridley is a podcast host who looks into unsolved cases and has even helped solve a couple. She is motivated by the pain of her twin being abducted the night before their college graduation. 4 years into her podcast, she thinks she’s connected 23 cases across the country and wants to start at the beginning with the first victim who escaped, Emerson.
Colt is the grumpy sheriff who doesn’t want Ridley causing trouble in his town and wants to shield Emerson from any spotlight from this podcast.
They butt heads immediately but eventually are forced together and end up working as a team.
I enjoyed this book a lot. As someone who listens to crime podcasts I thought that part of the story was really interesting. The suspense was a good mix with the romance. I like suspense books but sometimes it’s too much and I stick with romance but this was a nice combination so I got a bit of both!
I’m seeing mixed reviews on the nicknames and I’m torn, I equally loved and cringed at them throughout the book.
