The queen of romantic suspense strikes again! 🤩
This was a more suspense-focused book from Catherine, and my goodness did I EAT IT UP 🤌 And the true-crime podcast element was done so well — I don’t even listen to podcasts, and this book made me want to start! Especially with our host Ridley being such a strong and b*da*s character like UGH I love her so much 🥲
Not only was I super invested in the mystery, but Ridley & Colt’s romance captivated me alongside it all as well. From the beginning, I could tell that they were perfect for each other and are exactly what the other person was missing in life. They’ve both been through similar and difficult hardships, but they balance each other out in all the best ways. It was so amazing to see how much solace and healing they bring each other after all the pain they’ve experienced for so many years 🥹
All in all, I am obsessed with this book 🤧 This story was crafted so perfectly — the podcast aspect, the suspense, the romance, the characters, the small town community, all of it! I’m so grateful that this was my first read to kick off 2025 — I’ll never get enough of Catherine’s books, and I know the rest of this year will sure enough prove the same 🫶
Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Casablanca & Catherine Cowles & her team for an ARC of this book! 💌

Romantic Suspense is a difficult genre to write well because both elements have to be balanced and interwoven seamlessly. Catherine Cowles always meshes them together so well and she is one of my favorite authors.
I have been reading her books since her debut and her writing and storytelling continues to get better and better with each new release. All the Missing Pieces is no exception, and it is one of my favorite books she's written.
Ridley works for a true crime podcast and works to find the truth in the cases she investigates. It was interesting seeing how her experiences and the disappearance of her twin sister informed her career and life now. While working her newest story for the podcast she crosses paths with Colt a local Sheriff. The two of them had fantastic chemistry and a connection that was undeniable. I loved getting both their POVs and getting their thoughts as their relationship developed and they dealt with the suspense and mystery surrounding them.
I was hooked from the very first page and didn't want to put this book down. I cannot recommend it enough!

The description of this book reads like a thriller. Riley is a determined podcaster solving true crimes after the disappearance of her twin sister the night before their college graduation. As she tracks down the woman who may have been that monster’s first victim, she has to face off with the local Sheriff. Now, I am not the one for a thriller, but I want to me. Perhaps I have just needed a thriller mashed up with a romance.
There are plenty of twists and turns and while there are some clues to the identity of the perpetrator, it is not extremely obvious. The romance is hot and heavy. The side characters are delightful and I would love to visit this town.
I really enjoyed this book! I would have preferred if the romance drew out just a bit more but overall 4.5/5 stars!
Thank you to Net Galley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the DRC! All opinions are my own.

Yay! A new author for me - I really enjoyed All the Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles. This suspenseful and romantic story keeps readers engaged as the story unfolds.

I LOVED this.
All the Missing Pieces follows Ridley Sawyer who travels the country covering cold cases for her true crime podcast and Colter Brooks, the sheriff of Shady Cove. The last thing Colter wants is a podcaster in town stirring up trouble but Ridley is determined not to let him get in her way. Not only is this the first case she’s covered where the victim survived, but she believes it’s linked to her twin sisters disappearance. Colter may not want her in his town but the second she’s in danger, he steps in to help.
Whew. Colt and Ridley are PERFECT together, the enemies-to-lovers vibes were immaculate. I was cracking up during their first meeting. I loved how they gradually grew closer, especially after Ridley is attacked and Colt insists she stay with him. The tension and chemistry between them was SO GOOD.
The suspense had me on the edge of my seat and once again, Catherine surprised me with the reveal. There were a few times where I thought, this is the serial killer but NOPE! I was wrong.
I know this is supposed to be a standalone but I’m hoping this isn’t the last we’ll see of Shady Cove.
This is a MUST READ if you enjoy romantic suspense and true crime podcasts!

WOW! I am unsure how to fully express my LOVE for All the Missing Pieces ! Although I have not read her full backlist (and I know Sparrow Falls likely has my most anticipated couple to date!) I can fully admit THIS is my favorite book of hers so far!
Honestly, it’s hard to organize my thoughts on all the things I loved about this book! The prologue had a sense of dread that just hooked you into the mystery & suspense of the plotline while being the perfect gateway to the story that unfolds. The introduction to Ridley & the deep sense of purpose you see in her throughout the book is grounded in this prologue and sticks with you until the end. The way Ridley’s story ties into Colt’s is flawless! Their parallel lives overlap with unexpected complexity and create the beginnings of connection that grows deep with an understanding and more, regardless of how hard they fight it! It’s that fight and tension that gave way to some seriously smoking chemistry that I LOVED from these to strong characters!
I also really enjoyed how their professions overlapped! The true crime podcaster with her scrappy ways of putting pieces together mixed with a more straight laced approach from the sheriff made for humorous moments of exacerbation from Colt mixed with that growly protectiveness I loved so much in his character. Ridley’s determination was evident in every page but it was her compassion toward others and how she built relationships in Shady Cove that made her character a favorite of mine. The two of them together were just perfection!
I have to give all the slow claps to Catherine for the reveal at the end because every time I turned the dang page I had a new suspect in mind! She has a way of writing even the nicest characters in a way that has you questioning their motives. The way relief flooded through me at times when I was wrong was numerous!
Finally, I have to mention my FAVORITE side character, Tater! She is my spirit animal! I would love to give “tooth hugs” when I’m all done too!
✨A MUST READ✨

All the Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles is a gripping & astounding small town romance story involving a true crime podcaster coming to investigate an old cold case only to meet some resistance from the grumpy sheriff of said small town. I have to keep things vague because I don’t want to give away any spoilers but suffice to say, the journey this story takes is riveting, heartwrenching & healing all in one!
This is a standalone read, perfect for fellow fans or the perfect starting point for those wanting to read this author!
All the Missing Pieces continues to showcase why Catherine Cowles is one of the pillars of the romantic suspense genre. I will read & be enraptured by anything she writes!
All the Missing Pieces Is great for those looking to read…
🩷 Romantic Suspense
🩷 True Crime Podcaster x Sheriff
🩷 Small Town Romance
The combination of mystery plus romance is one of the greatest treats & when you combine that with the best small town vibes, a badass heroine, a swoony hero, humor, spice & intrigue, it creates an unputdownable story. Catherine Cowles continually writes fantastic mysterious suspense that will leave the reader guessing.
I also got to listen to the audiobook of this one & I loved it! I am always grateful for dual point of view in books & I’m super grateful for the two narrators bringing these characters to life. They were a delight to listen to! I listened at 2x & it was perfect for my ADHD brain.
If you are a fan of romance &/or mystery, I HIGHLY recommend checking out All the Missing Pieces, which is out now!
Massive thanks to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casa & Dreamscape Media for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

Detective Kelly reporting for duty! The mystery and suspense combined with the intense enemies to lovers romance made for the perfect match for me to fall in love with this story. This prologue gave me all the anxiety, I just had that bad feeling something was going to happen, a prelude to that mystery that was about to unfold for our podcaster storyline!
I loved that this story was heavy on the mystery and underlying suspense but we still got that great romantic connection and banter between Colt and Ridley. When Ridley rolls into town poking around a decades old foiled kidnapping case, it was bound to ruffle some feathers and Colt wasn’t going to let a little podcaster upend anyone’s world.
“Haven’t you figured it out yet, Chaos? You’ve had me breaking all the rules from the day I met you.”
And let me tell you, their hate banter was just ohhhh so good. You could feel the animosity from Colt over and over again, but underneath it all he was so protective and was trying to make up for his perceived failures from the past. He had to see Ridley for who she truly was and have others shove it in his face that she wasn’t the enemy and was there to be a victims advocate, a voice for those who no longer had one.
“Every shield I’d reinforced with steel to keep from being hurt again, all of it was useless in the face of all that this man was.”
The connection felt so natural between Colt and Ridley, as they began to work together and truly see who the other was, they had this shared connection of knowing what it was like to carry the guilt around of someone you love being hurt and still trying to live your own life. My heart broke for all they and their loved ones had endured in the face of a serial killer and the consequences it left for those left to pick up the pieces. I had so many moments of anticipation towards the end and I loved that feeling of not knowing who it would be that had done it all! Such a great standalone romance but you know I wouldn’t say not to a story about two certain someone’s, IYKYK 😉
“He understood the colors I painted my world with because he spoke the language of my pain.”

Catherine has a way of drawing you in and making you second guess every single person and their intentions. Really hoping this turns into a full series. I need Emerson’s story. And really want to know Ezra more!

I love the way Catherine interlaces suspense, humor, and so much heart into each of her books. All The Missing Pieces is no exception! I really enjoyed this story and the way everything came together. I absolutely love Ridley, and my heart broke for her, with the way she lost her twin sister and how disconnected she was from her parents. She spent her life chasing crime stories for her podcast, Sounds Like Serial, in the hopes of eventually finding out what happened to Avery. This leads her to the small town of Shady Cove, where she meets the grumpy sheriff, Colt, and lots of meddling and entertaining residents. I loved their tense introduction and everything it led to! This one definitely had me hooked from beginning to end.
And of course a special shoutout for the book pets, especially Tater and his tooth hugs 🤣

I love books with vibes and plot, and this book definitely had both. If you're looking for an FMC like Veronica Mars and mixed with the show Tracker, I have a feeling you're going to love Ridley. The night before her college graduation, and unsure the path her life is going to take, Ridley's twin sister goes missing and then presumed dead. Years later, Ridley is a true crime podcaster making breaks in cold cases as she tries to make a crack in her sister's case. She ends up in the small town of Shady Cove to investigate a failed kidnapping from years prior, much to the dismay of the current sheriff. Enter Colt; sheriff, Law Man, and the protective brother of the attempted kidnapping victim. Colt can't stand Ridley for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and the chaos she leaves in her wake. But as someone starts to threaten Ridley's life, the chemistry between them can't be denied and Colt knows he can't let her face the threat on her own. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy romantic suspense in a small town, meddling towns folk, teeth hugs from a cat named Tater, and strong main characters.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO ONE OF MY TOP READS OF 2024!!!! Honestly, it might be a top read of 2025 too since I’m getting ready to dive into a reread on audio. That’s right. I eyeball read this book because I couldn’t wait on the audio 😆 it was perfect! My heart is so freaking full.
Expect 👉🏼 Small Town Romantic Suspense, Podcaster and a Sherrif, Opposites Atteact, Grumpy/Sunshine, Forced Proximity, Lovable Animals, Dislike to Lovers
Ridley is passing through Shady Cove where nothing bad ever happens… except the one time that it did. She’s a podcaster who digs into and solves true crime mysteries. Colt is the grumpy town sheriff who is proud that nothing bad ever happens in his town. Because he has deep scars from the one time it did. These tow butt heads immediately.
Lawman & Chaos 🥹😍💋 Gah! I love them! these two are absolutely incredible together.
Go read this book! Come back and tell me if you figured out who the “bad guy” is! Because I was shocked 👀
Thank you Catherine Cowles and Sourcebooks Casa for the arc

This may be my new favourite Catherine Cowles’ book and she blew me away with this true crime podcast/small town romantic suspense, that just captivates you from start to finish.
After Ridley's twin sister disappears one night without a trace, Ridley decides to start a true crime podcast to try to find out what happen to her, and along the way she helps solve disappearances for other families. But there's something that leads her to Shady Cove, a potential clue to her sister's disappearance. Unfortunately, the this town isn't so keen to Ridley's investigation, especially a particularly grumpy sheriff and now danger is lurking closer than she ever imagined.
Catherine just knows how to write intriguing stories that hit you with so many emotions, has you suspecting everyone and ultimately makes you fall in love. I LOVED the build up for this one, the mystery and suspense so well down as you went on this journey to find out what and who was responsible. I tried my best to figure out who did it, but as always, this one had me guessing right up to end. This read like its own true crime podcast and just a great concept and so well. I absolutely adored Ridley and Colt, the banter, the sass, the protectiveness, it was just everything and they just made my heart swoon and my pulse race (hello mr headboard).
I cannot recommend this one enough, if you love mysteries and romance, this is a must read!

This book guys! Easily a top Catherine Cowles book of mine. I truly have never been more shocked by a Catherine reveal. Ever!
All The Missing Pieces gave me major Criminal Minds vibes mixed with all my favorite true crime podcasts. Catherine is such an amazing storyteller that once I pick up her books, I cannot and will not stop until I am done.
This one follows Ridley, a true crime podcaster and Colt, the small town sheriff. Ridley comes to town to investigate where she believes a string of crimes started - with a kidnapping a decade ago of a teen girl, Emerson. The town is immediately wary of her and Colt is at the top of the list of people to make her feel unwelcome.
But as Colt and the town gets to know her and learns about her past, they warm up to her and believe she can help and bring the town Emerson some peace.
I was immediately obsessed with this book. If I’m not reading, I’m most likely listening to a true crime podcast. So I was right there with her, wanting to figure out how to connect all the dots. I failed spectacularly.
The romance between Colt and Ridley is so sweet. They may have started on the wrong foot but they have a deep connection. I love how protective he becomes of her, even when he would love for her to just pack up and leave. The suspense kept me on my toes the whole time. Seriously, so shooketh at the end of this book. Bravo Catherine!
This one will be on my mind for a long time. So if you haven’t read it, please do!

I enjoyed this new story. Ridley and Colt have sparks right away. They have a lot to unpack, but their journey was great. I really enjoyed the crime podcast angle and the mystery involved . Lots of emotions and great romance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25, 🌶️🌶️
small town romance
Suspense
Podcaster x Sheriff
Grumpy x sunshine
as always Catherine had me immediately sucked in to this book + characters!
I love Ridley & her kitty tater! The ultimate duo for true crime podcasting! I love how Ridley was so compassionate and her love to help others and find answers knowing that she herself didn’t have answers!
&& Colt the perfect grumpy sheriff! I love nothing more than a grumpy MMC and Catherine knows what she is doing!
Nothing better than enemies to lovers but everything changes when one gets hurt!!!
You definitely get some romance & spice in this book but I really enjoyed how this one was more driven with plot! I was really invested in the entire storyline and as ALWAYS was so shocked by the suspect 😂

You guys, this book was incredible! I absolutely devoured it. I can always rely on Catherine Cowles to have me invested in a book from page 1, and this was no exception. Not only do we get all of the grumpy x sunshine, enemies-to-lovers romance vibes, but we also get an incredibly suspenseful story that kept me locked in and looking for clues. 🔍 I felt so invested in the small town community of Shady Cove, and loved all of the different personalities we got to meet along the way.
Our FMC, Ridley, is the definition of a ray of sunshine, even during times of darkness. She is so resilient, caring and charismatic and I really loved reading about her! I also enjoyed seeing a bit of the world of true crime podcasts, through Ridley’s show, Sounds Like Serial (what a clever name too!). The tension between Ridley and Colt was soooo good! I loved the whole enemies/rivals-to-lovers banter at the beginning, but that we also got to see them slowly start to understand each other and break each other’s walls down.
The ending of this book actually shook me. I always try my best to piece things together, and sometimes I end up getting things partially correct, but this time I was completely shocked by it all! I love that I wasn’t able to guess how the book would end, and it almost has me wanting to read it again to see if I can pick up some foreshadowing along the way...🕵🏽♀️🤭
A huge thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC!

here catherine goes again making me think i'm the greatest detective but i never guess who did it. if i was an actual detective i would get fired.
another small town to obsess over. i love being able to be in catherine's head when she is writing out these small towns and the characters and every single detail that she puts out there. Ridley and Colt have my entire heart. I love them and their pets. NO BC TATER WAS THE REAL STAR. HER AND HER TOOTH HUGS. i cackled with her and colton i really did.
ridley and colt and their banter as enemies to becoming enemies w/ benefits to being that missing piece that they were both missing in each other's life and the way that they healed each other. no bc why did I think it was trey up until like the 83% mark. i really played myself. who i did want to know more about of is emerson. she is such a unique character and what she went through breaks my heart and to see all the guilt that colt has been carrying on his shoulder really broke a piece in my heart, but in catherine fashion she was able to piece it back together. get it....
i need a book about trey and emerson now. the way that man protects her ughhhhhhhh. swoonyyy. a job well done catherine no notes.
Thank you to NetGalley for the e-ARC and the ALC!

Cowles is the queen of romantic suspense! I love that this is a story featuring a true crime podcaster searching for answers to her twin sister’s cold case! Ridley has gone around the country looking for answers to various cold cases, and her latest leads her to Shady Cove, where she meets the grumpy sheriff Colt, who has similar problems of his own.
Colt is wary of Ridley from the start. He doesn’t want an outsider digging into his small town, even if she is trying to help. Little does he know, his past does intersect with hers in ways where they both learn they can help each other.
I loved Colt’s protective side, it goes well with his sheriff job and persona. He sometimes is a bit too protective of his family, but it’s understandable. I love that Ridley isn’t afraid of his bark, and will stand up to him in the search for truth and justice.
Of course, I didn’t guess who the bad guy was here… I don’t think I typically do in a Cowles book! It took me by surprise! I would love to see more of Ridley’s story doing her true crime podcast in the future!

This book is a romantic suspense and it’s not really something I read often but this book has the grumpy/sunshine trope and it’s a small town romantic suspense which I love so I had to give this book a shot. Well, I absolutely loved this book and I couldn’t put it down.
If you are into romantic suspense then I really recommend All The Missing Pieces.
I give this 5 out of 5 stars.
