4 stars- I was so excited to be approved for this book because I have really enjoyed Tessa Bailey's Big Shots series! You can always rely on her books to make you laugh and this book was the same way. I flew through this one because I wanted to see Sig and Chloe finally be together and how that would build up. I loved getting a sneak peek into potential future couples for this series and I can't wait to continue reading about them!

Classic Tessa Bailey book here. She's here to have fun and give us a good time. Does she play into the absurd a little? Are the big "issues" and stakes down right inconsequential? Are there characters a little shallow and silly? Was the dirty talk just about too much to take remotely seriously? yeah, yeah, yeah. But I had fun, it was sweet, it was engaging, I'll never think about it again. recommend if thats for you.

From their instant connection, I was hooked. I especially loved how Sig was head over heels for Chloe from the start. I thought I might not love the soon-to-be stepsiblings drama but I felt it made their longing, their devotion to each other and their very hot chemistry even more fun to read since as with all romances, I knew there would be a guaranteed HEA eventually. Thank you to Tessa Bailey for giving us a little more of their life at the end of the book and thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for the chance to read Dream Girl Drama early.

I've been a BIG fan of Tessa Bailey for a while & when I heard she wrote a new sports romance book in her Big Shots series, you better believe I wanted to read it!
Thank you, #NetGalley, for allowing me to read Dream Girl Drama by Tessa Bailey. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book on #NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own, but please add this fantastic romance story to your TBR list.
This is the story of hockey star Sig & music prodigy Chloe. These two find themselves in quite the dilemma as they've fallen in love with each other, about the time they also find out they're about to become step-siblings. There is so much emotional turmoil, lots of passion (Tessa Bailey's trademark as the queen of dirty talk) & plenty of fun characters that make this a very enjoyable story to read.

Tessa Bailey does no wrong, ever!!! There’s not a single book I’ve read of hers that I haven’t fallen completely in love with. The forbidden love trope was 10 times as intense in Dream Girl Drama and it broke my heart and put it back together way too many times to count. Sig is the epitome of a man who will never let anyone in his life down, no matter the cost. His humility, selflessness, and hopelessly devoted love to Chloe makes him the ultimate book boyfriend in my eyes. I relate to this story in so many ways and I know of the hardships faced between Chloe and Sig and their parents. I couldn’t put this story down until I knew without a doubt, a happily ever after would come out of all of this pain. This book was well worth every frustrating emotion Tessa threw at me. LOVE!!!

I really enjoyed this book, but the main drama felt blown out of proportion. And while I loved both characters, Sig sometimes came across as over the top and intense. I overall really enjoyed it and I love Tessa’s writing style. The hockey player side characters are always a delight to see on page.

Thank you to the publisher/author/NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Dream Girl Drama is the third book in Tessa Bailey's Big Shots series, which follows Chloe & Sig, whom we were first introduced to in the second book of the series.

Chloe Clifford is a relatively sheltered country club gal, who grew up with access to anything money could buy, but limited choices about how she would live her life. She is a harpist prodigy with dreams of studying music in Boston, but her mother has prevented Chloe from chasing any dreams that might take Chloe from her hometown. Sig Gauthier is a professional hockey player who had a very humble upbringing with a mother who worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. Sig also has some serious daddy issues - his dad left their family when Sig was young, and the two only reconnected when Sig reached adulthood.

The story begins with Sig & Chloe's meet-cute, where they have an instant attraction and interest in pursuing a relationship. Fast forward just hours later, and at a family dinner, they learn that their parents will be getting married, making Sig and Chloe step-siblings. This revelation gives way to months of pining, where Chloe and Sig develop a deep friendship and try to reconcile their feelings for one another with their future familial status.

I thought this was a cute, classic Tessa Bailey novel. The premise is a bit absurd, but if you can suspend your disbelief, Dream Girl Drama offers a fun, steamy story to sink into. I loved Chloe & Sig's introduction in The Au Pair Affair, and their book delivered exactly what I expected. Plus, we got a glimpse into future couples in the series! Looking forward to Big Shots continuing in 2025.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Overall, this was such a satisfying read for me! I finished the book within 12 hours I was having that much fun! Firstly, the characters really drew me in. Chloe and Sig were just perfect together and I especially loved Chloe’s energy and vibe - it felt real and authentic without being cringey! Second, the plot had just high enough stakes to keep me emotionally invested but I wasn’t stressing at the same time. And lastly, this was hot! The spice was the right amount for me - not too much but definitely enough in terms of the actual scenes haha! Definitely give this book a read if you want a fun, convincing romcom with compelling characters!

What happens when you meet your soulmate only to find out a few hours later that your dad is dating her mom? oh, and they’re engaged?

Give me more mmc hockey players written by Tessa bailey - I loved loved loved Sig. and while Chloe starts out as your typical rich girl, her growth is *chef’s kiss*. I devoured this book. The pinning, the relationship between these two, and of course the real star of the show, Pierre 🤩

I could feel these two’s emotions coming off the pages of this book- Sig and Chloe were both so well written.

pick up this book when it comes out in February- I already have the b&n special edition preordered 🤪 thank you to NetGalley, @avonbooks and @ harpervoyagerUS for the arc!!!

This book begins with a chance encounter between Sig Gauthier, a confident hockey star, and Chloe Clifford, a sheltered young woman raised in a protective environment. They meet at a country club and feel an immediate attraction, only to discover that their parents are getting married, making them future step-siblings.

The story unfolds as Chloe and Sig navigate their undeniable chemistry and budding feelings, despite the awkward family connection. The novel is lighthearted and fun, with plenty of humor, flirtation, and that signature Bailey charm in the interactions. While Chloe’s sheltered nature can come across as unrealistic at times, it plays into her character arc as she gradually steps out of her comfort zone. If you enjoyed the banter and steamy moments, this is classic Tessa Bailey—a blend of humor, romance, and a dash of family drama.

This is truly one of the worst books I’ve endured.
I am quite easy to please but this was so cringeworthy. It wasn’t even the taboo (future) step sibling trope that was cringe, it was the whole story and how exaggerated damsel in distress this story went. The insta love was also too much too soon.

Before this book gets published, please consider editing the timelines. At the beginning of the book, it was mentioned that the FMC and MMC parents were marrying in 8 months. As the story develops, there’s a reference to 4 months later & 5 months later (total of 9 months??) and then “now” refers to how the wedding is in two months. So which one is it, is the wedding in 11 months or 8 months?

Also, to add to the cringe factor, the two “diverse” characters are described as “ a pretty Chinese woman” and then the other character was “Appearing to be of Mexican descent, her skin tone was already a natural burnished brown..” I’m not sure if the author meant to say Hispanic/Latina? Descent, but FYI Mexicans come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and not all Mexicans are brown. Being brown does not equal being Mexican.

I loved Dream Girl Drama, and Tessa Bailey can do no wrong. I read this book with my eyeballs because I couldn't wait to get an audiobook copy--and for someone who reads 99% of her books on audio, you know it has to be a special book to get the eyeball treatment. I was feral for Sig and Chloe's story the minute I heard it was in the works, and it did NOT disappoint. Forbidden romance, (almost) step-siblings, hockey shenanigans, dog-sitting, and the kind of dirty talk Tessa Bailey is known for makes Dream Girl Drama unforgettable. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone romance, but I love that as #3 in the Big Shots series, we have cameos from the couples from both Fan Girl Down and The Au Pair Affair.

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for my advance reader copy.

I had high hopes for this, but unfortunately this wasn't for me. I adored Fangirl Down, but didn't quite connect with The Au Pair Affair, and sadly this one ended up being my least favorite in the series.

For me, Chloe didn't grow or change really. She went from getting infantilized by her mother to getting the same treatment from Sig. I really could not deal with how utterly, annoyingly helpless she was. He was way too overprotective and just did things for her instead of teaching her how to be self sufficient. I'm all for a sheltered princess learning how to strike out on her own and discover herself, like Piper did in IHOS with Brendan supporting her, but that's not what happened here. Chloe was just spending his money and didn't seem to care about working hard for anything.

I also just thought it was silly for them to think they couldn't be together. If they have this life altering connection within 5 minutes, I would think they'd fight for it. It's not like they were becoming step-siblings as kids who still live with their parents. Yes, maybe a conversation or two would need to be had, but they were so overdramatic about it. Everything got super repetitive, too. They're consenting adults who don't even like their parents that much, so I didn't see what the whole big obstacle was. It gets resolved by something that seemed way too convenient that I don't think really changed the situation much anyway.

So it all sadly fell apart for me, I'm so sorry to say it.

Solid 3 star. Nothing in particular really stood out about this book. The step brother step sister trope is really not my thing (even though it never officially happened) There were some moments that made me laugh out loud. I also enjoyed how these character were introduced in previous books. But overall I couldn’t get over the step sibling thing.

I really did want to like this one. I think this is the first Tessa Bailey book that I struggled with. It wasn’t even bad. I just had a hard time with the almost step siblings trope. I didn’t love it in greys anatomy but I wanted to give it a chance.

honestly? i absolutely hated everything about this. sig and chloe acted like children and i hated the stepsibling/insta love troupe. nope nope nope, not for me. i really wanted to like this but i just couldn’t. it was overly cringey in some parts and i couldn’t look past it.

A sweet story of a forbidden romance. Sig and Chloe have an immediate connection when they first meet at a country club. Their next encounter is meeting one another's future step-parent! Sig is every woman's dream boat and I love a good hockey romance.
Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager, Tessa Bailey and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This story was so good! I laughed, I cried, and I rejoiced. It’s a story of forbidden love and right person, wrong time. I enjoyed seeing Sig and Chloe overcome the circumstances trying to keep them apart. They had such great chemistry and seeing it explode after their mutual pining was chefs kiss.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the chance to read a review an early copy of “Dream Girl Drama.” I was so excited to read this one - I was intrigued by the Sid and Chloe after meeting them in the previous books. Fans of Tessa Bailey will not be disappointed - DGD contains all of the elements Tessa Bailey is known for and it is definitely a steamy one. I am not quite sure why the disclosure of Sid and Chloe’s relationship was a such a deal breaker for everyone since they met as adults and are not related so the conflict seemed to be a little over the top. I also wish the story had involved more characters than Sid and Chloe - I wished I could have seen them interact as a unit with others. But other than that, it was a fun fast read. 4 stars.
