I like this book I really did. I could not get over the plot of the 2 main characters meeting and not knowing that their parents were dating and that if they also dated it would be somehow taboo I actually know people. This has happened to and one of my really good friend's dad actually married his Dead wife sister, so I don't understand how if you're not bloodline related to somebody, why it would be a big deal in twenty twenty four, especially, so I had a hard time with that once, I let that go and just said, okay for the sake of the book it matters. The book was good. It was a hockey romance in her new series.
Sig plays hockey for boston, (but shout out--he's from the state of hockey Minnesota) and Chloé is a harpist from a wealthy family who has never been on her own they meet unknowingly the night their parents are introducing them - they have an attraction and a few shenanigans before realizing that their parents are in a relationship- chloe ends up standing up to her mother and moving to Boston and trying to be on her own well sig. Deals with his past. It was a good book, but like I said it was very hard for me personally to get over why it would be a big deal for 2 adults to have a relationship when they're not. Related, at all had just barely met, and I just couldn't get that out of my head i do love the author and I will read. Whoever is next in this series, hoping it's one of the rookies

I was so excited to get this ARC and I dove right in and read it pretty quickly. I enjoyed both characters and I enjoyed the long period of friendship before they were declaring love, although i wished there was a bit more to that. I liked that she acknowledged his toxic possessiveness. I liked her music ability and i thought the poor little helpless rich girl was paris hilton fun. I just could not get past the premise - would it really be that big of a deal if they got together? I feel like a team publicist or BSO publicist could very easily handle that with they met as adults and this isn't weird or illegal, the end. I think i would think it was funny, but would not be scandalized.
Well, she went there folks AND we should thank her publishers for letting her do so! I’ll admit, I was really curious how Tessa Bailey was going to pull off the step-siblings story, but it worked. There was enough back story on their meeting and how the relationship evolved to where it wasn’t creepy. The tension was so thick throughout the book, this book could have been called “On the Edge”. Plus, it keeps your curiosity of how they resolve the step-sibling matter, which had a satisfying resolution. You definitely need to read Au Pair Affair prior to get some of the set up (plus it’s a fun book). This is definitely open door and Sig is pretty intense in all facets throughout the story. This is a pretty quick read. Check it out.
Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
This was such a fun book! I can always count on Tessa Bailey to come out with binge-able, cute, and fun reads! "Dream Girl Drama" follows Chloe and Sig and how they navigate their love for one another in a complicated situation. I absolutely adored how Sig constantly showed up for Chloe and proved that his love for her was more than just physical attraction! I'm so glad I was able to get this eARC! I definitely plan on buying this book when it comes out in February!
An unexpectedly emotional rollercoaster packed with Bailey’s signature wit and snappy dialogue. I truly think she is one of the best writers at integrating pop culture and modern slang without it feeling cringey or put upon.
I'M OBSESSED. I have loved every edition in this series and this one is no different. It's almost impossible to pick a favorite.
The writing is so engaging and the characters are so lovable. I love getting to see characters from previous books living their live in the background and the little hints that are dropped about who upcoming books could be about.
I already can't wait for the next book. I'll be anxiously awaiting the chance to request an ARC!!
I was so excited when I got approved for an ARC of Dream Girl Drama! Tessa Bailey is one of my favorite authors so I was thrilled to get to read the latest installment of the Big Shot series earlier.
Readers of the first two books will remember Chloe and Sig from The Au Pair Affair. Chloe is a harpist that’s moved down to Boston from her family’s mansion in Connecticut. Sig is a hockey player and her future stepbrother. One steamy kiss before they realize their parents are dating each other leads to months of forbidden longing.
Bailey’s writing style was impeccable as always. There was fun banter and dirty talk and the plot moved fast while not feeling rushed. The only downside for me was the insta-lust/love factor. While I get why it was necessary for the plot, it just didn’t feel like Chloe and Sig had any real chemistry other than the chemistry the text was throwing at us. It was very telling and not showing if that makes sense. That didn’t curb my enjoyment though!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!
I wanted to love this book so much. I absolutely loved Sig he was so good. Let's get into my issues.
Sig and Chloe meet when Sigs old truck breaks down in the Country Club parking lot on his way to meet his dad for dinner. With a dead battery on his phone, he is forced to go inside and ask to use the phone. Chloe saves him from being kicked out and they have instant attraction. Chloe rushes out to meet with her mother. Suprise! Their parents are engaged to be married. Chloe's mother controls everything she does so Sig encourages her to move to Boston with him.
This is where my issues with the story begin. Apparently, they cannot be together because their parents are engaged. The are both adults in their late 20s. I just could not wrap my head around this being a problem. I did like that the time they spent together as friends gave them time to actually fall in love, so this was less of an insta love story, but I just could not make it make sense. Why was this such an issue? Also, the resolution did not save the story for me. I also could not understand why it was such a secret. Too many weird unexplained things for me. Also, what hockey!!! There was no hockey in this book, you could have inserted any position into this book, and nothing would change.
At first, I was not crazy about Chloe. She just met Sig and on the same day she lets him move her to Boston and pay for everything. She has absolutely no clue about money or anything really. It was just a little annoying at how naive she was. She did save herself in my eyes when she realized how Sig was living and that he was selling things to make extra money. I was also impressed with her insistence that he not sell his truck when people haggle him about it. She earned my respect in the end.
Aside from the things that I did not like, there were a lot of things in this book that I did like. SIG!!! I loved him, he was such a great character. A big ol' cinnamon roll of a character. He would literally do anything for Chloe. He drove an old truck and lived in a basic home but offered her all of the luxuries that he absolutely could not afford. He wanted to be good enough for her so bad that he sold memorabilia to make ends meet. I liked that the story spanned a six-month period, I am not a crazy fan of insta love so I liked that they had this time together as platonic friends. Although I thought it was crazy I also liked both of their willingness to give up their dreams for the other.
If the author could have given us a different plot this would have been a much higher star read.
Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyage for this title. This is my very honest review.
ARC review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/🌶️ Sig and Chloe are about to become step siblings but they are heard over heels for each other. Both Sig and Chloe are really good characters and from the get go, you can’t help but root for them. While this author tends to go for instalove with her main characters, here, while it’s true that they instantly like each other, we get a slow burn, we see them being friends, being in each others life. Sig is so good to Chloe and it’s sweet to see how much each cares for the other. I will say that while I understand that their predicament might be a bit odd, they are not actually related and are two consenting adults, so I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. The revelation at the end surprised me, was not expecting that.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. Thank you @Avonbooks and @HarperVoyagerUS
A spicy, fun forbidden romance that's full of drama and emotion. I’ve waited so long for Sig and Chloe to get their moment, and this book did not disappoint!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc
a hockey player meets a girl who's a society chick (SC) at a country club bc hockey guys (HG) car breaks down. So they make out and *~fall in love*~ after a minute of meeting. Then they leave each other bc they both have something to do for dinner but they are gonna meet for *dessert*. HG shows up to his dinner plans at this big ol house and SC is there playing the harp (bc obv she's a harp prodigy) and turns out HG estranged dad is engaged to SC mom and they're gonna get married. SC decides to move to Boston and take a chance on her harp career there bc she only ever lived with her mama. Ofc she moves into an appt that HG pays for but tells everyone that they are soon to be step siblings and just friends. Now HG wont get the raise and captain position bc everyone thinks he's fucking his step sister and SC was supposed to have a big harp thing but same same they dropped her bc the step sibling. Meanwhile their parents aren't married yet so the whole step
Sibling thing doesn't rly make sense to me they're not related? But HG and SC are in love. So will they blow up their careers or figure something out?
This book was just ok I didn't love the narrative and they seemed to fall so hard so quickly
loved this romance with sig and chloe. I liked that they had an attraction but became friends . I liked that they supported one another with their dreams. Curious on the skyler story and going from hockey to baseball. I liked that they really did have a good romance.
Sig Gauthier may be a hot-shot professional hockey player, but he came from humble beginnings and isn't one for the flashier things in life. So when his ancient car breaks down in the parking lot of a fancy country club, all Sig wants to do is call a tow truck and hightail it out of there. But then he meets Chloe Clifford, and Sig quickly realizes his life will never be the same. Chloe is light and effervescent, and the pair waste no time stealing kisses between sips of stolen champagne. The pair's chemistry is undeniable, but then the worst thing imaginable happens-- they discover their parents are engaged.
This is the push that Chloe needs to leave her sheltered life, and Sig is right there, showing her the ins and outs of Boston. The future step-siblings know they need to pump the breaks on anything romantic, but neither can stay away from the other. They may try and keep things platonic, but they aren't fooling anyone, leaving their professional lives at risk. As their parent's wedding day ticks closer, will Sig and Chloe find a way to be together or will they have to kiss true love goodbye?
If you watched Clueless and rooted for Cher and Josh to get together, this book is for you. Admittedly, I was hesitant about the romantic aspect, but once I found out they weren't step-siblings yet I didn't mind. It's very much your stereotypical Bailey novel. You have a protective MMC who is gone for the FMC, ridiculously over-the-top bed scenes, and more drama than a Housewives reality show. The chemistry between Sig and Chloe was electric, but what I loved the most was how they were genuinely best friends. Their connection was so strong, and I was on the edge of my seat, hoping they would find a way to be together. There were times when Chloe's character frustrated me with her poor decision-making, but her character growth by the end was satisfying. Is it the best book I've ever read? No, but did I have a great time reading it? Absolutely, and that's par for the course when it comes to Bailey's books, and I'll keep eating them up every time.
I love Tessa Bailey but I feel like this wasn’t her best book. It was fun and I enjoyed the characters and the story just not my favorite. I do enjoy hockey so it’s a good sports romance but my baseball heart hurt at times reading it😂. Thank you NetGalley for the arc!
Chloe and Sig share a romantic night full of sweetness and sparks, only to find out they are soon to be step siblings by marriage. They refuse to let their undeniable connection go to waste, trying to stave off their attraction to each while searching for a way to be together that will not damage their reputations and the goals they are pursuing in their respective fields.
Wow! The definition of insta-love. We started at a 10/10 on the love scale never took our foot off the gas. Maybe a little too far gone, too quickly? I usually like a bit more of a buildup in my romance relationships and this one blasted me in the face pretty much the whole book. Haha. That being said, I still enjoyed Chloe and Sig’s connection and devotion to each other.
I read the previous book in the series and while the books are standalone, reading Au Pair Affair helped provide additional background information about Sig and Chloe that I felt was missing from this book - additional moments of Chloe’s naivety and kindness and Sig’s jumping in to save the day.
Sig’s strawberry pop tart stash really sent me. That is a man obsessed.
“Chloe envisioned a lineup of men, each one a various archetype. A cowboy. A preppy. A biker, even. But they were all just Sig dressed in different outfits. Who besides Sig could make her want to cry and cheer and laugh just by existing?”
They were well and truly gone for each other from day one!
Overall, the book focused most on the couple and their attempts to resist falling for each other due to their impending step sibling status. It was a little angsty, but had many moments of care, devotion, and sweet heat to soften the tension.
I am excited to see where Bailey takes this series with the Rookies and their ladies!
It’s been a minute since I’ve read a Tessa Bailey book and boy have I missed it. While the major conflict separating Sig & Chloe seemed like a non-issue to me initially, I can understand why they felt pressured to keep things platonic. What came from that decision though was the most sizzling sexual tension between our main characters and their chemistry was hands down my favourite thing about this story. The angst was palpable and the love between these two was so visceral, it was impossible not to root for them to find their happily ever after together!
Thank you so much Avon & Harper Voyager for the ARC in exchange for an honest review 🤍
Dream Girl Drama is the story of Stig and Chloe, who fall in love at first sight only to realize that their parents are engaged to be married.
This was my first time reading popular romance author Tessa Bailey, who has written several bestselling series. I was interested in the hockey tie in (Stig is a professional NHL player) - hockey romance is really having a moment, but the plot really focused on the conflict between Stig and Chloe's attraction versus their concern about the taboo of their romance.
The book was a page turner, Bailley keeps it fascinating with the fast paced plot, but I wish the book had discussed more deeply the complexities of modern family life instead of having all the minor characters insist that this relationship was inappropriate and would bring widespread condemnation. I won't reveal the ending, but it did seem to let the characters off the hook too neatly.
This book has prompted me to read others by Bailey, but would not be a reread for me.
Thank you, Avon and the Tessa Bailey team for providing this ARC on election day - this fun, sparkling, joyful story was a necessary escape in anxiety central over here. If you've read the rest of the series, you already know who the main characters are - Sig is confident, capable, sexy and Cloe is fun, joyfully naive and lovable. You can feel the chemistry of the characters, there's wit and charm oozing from both of them and Tessa B's style is easy to read, it flows beautifully. My one complaint was the end - it felt rushed, I wanted to know more about their life, the epilogue was also too short and one sided, I just wanted more of this world please! I hope this series continues with the rest of the hokey players we've met so far and I hope Tessa Bailey continues to do ARCs around the dreadful days of our lives, so we can have a little sunshine in the storm.
TESSA BAILEY, THE WOMAN YOU ARE!!!!!! i'm running laps from all the pent up sexual tension. *faints*

Soooooo much instalust and angst from not being able to be together as they're gonna be step-siblings. But the back and forth got a little tedious.
There were some good, funny parts to this that made it enjoyable, but it wasn't my favourite in the series.
I just didn't understand the main issue as these were adults who met in their 20s before they knew the parents were getting married, so surely this could have been explained and people wouldn't have an issue with it? It's not like they were raised together.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Voyager and Avon for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
