If we need to be specific this was a 4.5 star. It's a hockey romance but not like your normal hockey romance. the sport is in the plot line but It's not thrown in your face as much as most hockey romances does. I love the way this series set up this book. It has the feel of being it's own independent book but parts from the other books sprinkled in. The whole step siblings romance is very taboo but I feel like Tessa Bailey wrote it in a way that doesn't give you the ick. Don't get me wrong the thought is always in the back of your head while reading this book but it's not constantly throwing up red flags or even making it gross. It was tastefully done and feels more just like a forbidden love trope. I love Tessa Bailey books there such a nice easy cozy read and this book did not disappoint. I cant wait to see where the rest of this series goes.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You will never find me saying no to the promise of fun guaranteed in a Tessa Bailey book! This one falls into the middle of the pack for me with Bailey’s work. The beginning was strong with a fantastic meet cute and instant chemistry. While it was a bit insta love, I think it worked and was believable. Some readers may see some red flags in Sig or find Chloe too spoiled to root for, but fans of Bailey’s previous work will likely find the yearning and pining to be right on point. I struggled with the rapid ending, awkward intro of characters for the next book and once again seeing very little hockey in what’s supposed to be a sports romance book. Even so, it’s still a sizzling romance that Bailey is known for and if you’re looking for a rom com or a light hearted read or are a fan of her work, I think you’ll have fun with this one

Stopppp—this book was so freaking sweet! Tessa Bailey never fails to make my heart happy! Sig is definitely a new book boyfriend. I loved how he knew Chloe was his dream girl right away. Everything he did for her, plus that nickname—Dream Girl? Ugh, swoon!

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sweet, hockey romance with spice.

Thank you so much, Avon books & NetGalley for the ARC!

4 Stars I am loving the books in Tessa Bailey's Big Shots series! Sports romances are my fave and it's fun to see TB's take on them.

When NHL star Sig Gauthier meets harpist Chloe Clifford after his car breaks down at her country club, he knows immediately that he's met the love of his life and his future wife. The only issue? She's his soon to be stepsister. Sig's estranged father is engaged to Chloe's mother, and though he can't deny his feelings for her, Sig knows it's best to stay away. But that's made difficult when Sig promises to help Chloe escape her mother's controlling nature and teach her to be independent in Boston. Their feelings grow and it becomes harder to stay away from each other, knowing that they are destined to be so much more.

Tessa Bailey took an interesting turn with this one, flirting with a taboo romance trope like step siblings. It's a fun read as the tension grows with Chloe and Sig knowing that a relationship between them is forbidden and could hurt their careers, but being unable to deny their feelings. Though instalust/instalove isn't my favorite trope, I loved that the time jumps in this one allowed the reader to see the very real friendship that Chloe and Sig forged while he helped her learn to be independent from her mother. Sig adores Chloe and cares for her in whatever ways he can, which sometimes means spoiling her like a princess. He's adorable and the angst in this one really got me. I also did not see that twist at the end coming!

Thanks Avon and Tessa Bailey for the ARC! Dream Girl Drama releases February 4th!

I would like to personally thank Tessa Bailey for creating Sig Gauthier and putting him on paper for us. 😮‍💨

Sig & Chloe are from two totally different worlds and are about to become step-siblings, but the universe (well, mostly Sig) can’t stop putting them together. They are best friends and ride-or-dies, but they both want more. Too bad that would be too taboo for a famous hockey player and up-and-coming professional harp player. 🏒

I have never highlighted quotes from a book as much as I did in this one. Sig and Chloe are so down-bad for each other and the foreboding marriage of their parents hangs like a heavy cloud, even in their happiest times. I truly did not know how they were going to figure out a way to be together, but I kept the faith and it was so, so worth it. 😪

This is by far my new favorite Tessa Bailey book, and will probably end up being a comfort read. I can’t wait to read it again and again! A million stars.

“Until my last sunrise dream girl.”❣️

4.5 stars
Sig and Chloe have such a fun meet cute and instant attraction. Then it all comes crashing down when they realize her mom and his dad are getting married.
Still, they can't stay away from each other, and Sig moves her to Boston, supporting her and teaching her independence. They become each other's best friend, and it's really sweet to watch the slow burn (except sometimes excruciating) and how well they care for each other. They absolutely fall in love without anything physical after the kiss the night they met. After waiting as long as possible, they give in and their chemistry is off the charts. Then they have to decide what matters more.
I appreciated that there weren't any repeat scenes from book 2 (because of time jumps), except I wouldn't have minded getting a peek at their trip to Costa Rica for Chloe to play at Josephine and Wells' wedding.
Really enjoyéd this story, and I didn't think the "scandal" of them being together was as big a deal as it was made out to be since they were both adults and met each other without knowing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
If you’re looking for pining and incredible chemistry and slow burn and angst, this book is for you!

THOUGHTS 💭
🏒 I love a good opposites attract romance; she’s a wealthy, country club going harpist who hasn’t ever had to do anything on her own; he’s a “scraping by,” gruff professional hockey player who had to grow up quickly and take on adult responsibilities as child.
🏒 The pining and the forbidden-ness and Sig’s dirty talk were some of my favorite parts of this book. 🥵
🏒 I love how these two view each other; the author wrote some perfectly swoony lines when Chloe thinks of Sig and Sig thinks of Chloe. They are soulmates and can’t imagine life without the other and it was seriously sweet (and sometimes seriously frustrating!)
🏒 The slow burn E X P L O D E D into some pretty incredible spice. Sig and Chloe’s adorable, supportive “friendship” turning into something more felt long-awaited.
🏒 I love sports romances because of the teammate banter! Sig’s teammates brought some great humor to this book.
🏒 My one hangup with this book (that made my rating drop half a star) is that I truly don’t think people would be THIS scandalized by “step siblings“ falling in love, especially in this situation. Sig and Chloe never grew up together; they never lived in the same house together; they were adults when they met; and they met before they knew they were to be “step siblings.“

Thanks so much to Avon and Tessa Bailey for the ARC of this book!

Tessa Bailey is the queen of the series and we love her for it. Loved finally knowing about Sig and Chloe’s relationship and history and seeing how it all played out.

I love when he falls first and man does Sig fall first and HARD. His obsession with her was so cute to see and I loved how much she wanted him too! I really liked their relationship even from the beginning and couldn’t wait to see where it went!

While the book did seem like there was a lot of back and forth in the end I love how it played out. Step siblings while taboo isn’t as taboo as some other stuff I’ve read, but Tessa made this one seem super forbidden and it worked. I was nervous to see how things would workout. The smut was spicy and the epilogue made me smile from ear to ear

Tessa Bailey never fails to deliver. The tension.. the spice..chefs kiss.

Chloe and Sig were incredible. I do wish Chloe had a bit more character development. I definitely think Sig (willing) took on 90% of the struggles and do wish Chloe faced a bit more as well. However, this was such a fun, sexy book.

I would absolutely recommend.

I really loved the beginning and how strong of a connection Sig and Chloe had. I lost a bit of interest in the story as it went on. I still liked it overall, but not my favorite.

Thank you to NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to read this eARC for my honest review!

I SQUEALED when I saw the email for the arc in my inbox and instantly put it to the top of my TBR because I just knew it would be good. I mean, there's nothing to say other than Queen Tessa has done it again. She is an instant buy author for me and I don't even need to know the blurb or plot because I just trust her to put out gold.

From the moment Sig and Chloe met there was obvious chemistry. Sometimes angst really kills me, but THIS angst had me flipping pages like it was nobody's business because not only did it make the end even better but it was sweet to watch them get to know every little thing about each other. I lived for their stolen moments and flirting. While I don't consider their situation taboo (they met each other before they knew they would become step siblings and never even grew up together), I understand that they both live more public lives and people can't seem to keep their nose out of other's business. It's heart breaking that couples (fiction or real life) have to suffer through their relationships being in the spotlight when having a relationship without the paparazzi is hard enough.

Anyways, that being said, Sig is a dream cloud. All he wants to do is love and protect Chloe, but he also wants to help her become independent and get out from under her mom's claws.. Sure he was possessive, but so are all Tessa's men, it was nothing outside the usual. It seems others found him controlling at times, but I didn't really feel the same because Chloe was basically a baby animal entering the wild for the first time and had no idea how to do anything for herself. He didn't judge her for that, the circumstances she was born into, or the things she didn't know, but instead sat by her side and taught her how to "adult". He also basically "gave the shirt off his back" for her on a daily basis because he wanted her to be comfortable in this major life transition even when he didn't have any money for himself.

It was also really wonderful to see Chloe's character progress as well. I never had a problem with her, but it was kind of like watching a flower bloom. Sometimes, you need to be taken out of your comfort zones to grow as a person, and that's exactly what happened.

For me, it was a 5 star read and am so grateful I got to read it early. Thanks again NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager!

I just didn't vibe with this book. The stepsibling plot for two grown adults wasn't it for me. They weren't bio related, weren't raised together and didn't know each other before. It seemed like pushing a big deal that wasnt? Also Chloe was very naive and it drove me crazy

I have been waiting for Sig and Chloe’s story. And was it so worth the wait. The tension and yearning? Phenomenal. Honestly did not see the ending coming how it happened which was super cool. And the characters story was just adorable. And the characters themselves were just fun. Do you ever have those books where you could see yourselves having a blast with the MC’s? This is one of those books and the humor was right up my alley. I was sooo excited when I got the approval from netgalley for this arc and I’m also SUPER excited to get the beautiful copy with those sprayed edges on my shelves!

I loved this book. Chloe and Sig were both great on their own, but I really enjoyed them together. I was rooting for them so hard by the end and I love how the book turned out.

Pro hockey star Sig Gauthier just wants to have supper with his estranged father, meet his new girlfriend, and get back to his life in Boston. When his truck unfortunately breaks down in front of an upscale country club, Sig thinks he can quickly use their phone and be on his way. He never expects to meet the vivacious Chloe Clifford and fall head over heels in love. The only problem…Chloe is his soon to be stepsister. Harp prodigy Chloe Clifford has lived a very privileged existence. She’s never wanted for anything except independence. Meeting Sig has thrown her carefully orchestrated life off course and she grabs at the opportunity to move to Boston and attend a conservatory. Sig and Chloe know they can’t be together, it will destroy Sig’s reputation and Chloe’s relationship with her mother, but they just can’t stay away from each other. So, they do the next best thing and become best friends instead. As Sig helps Chloe navigate her new life, she brings him a joy that he’s never felt before. When their parents marry and their carefully crafted relationship comes under intense scrutiny, Sig and Chloe are left with a huge decision. Do they give each other up or watch their lives implode?

Tessa Bailey’s Dream Girl Drama is heart meltingly romantic. It’s the perfect mix of swoon, spice and Bailey’s signature humor. Sig and Chloe are couple goals and two of the best characters I have experienced in a while. Their love, devotion, and care for each other is palpable. Their connection, electric. Bailey makes you feel the yearning and burning. You can’t help but love Sig and Chloe. The things they do and lengths they go to for each other are, at turns, amusing, heartbreaking, and joyful. This leads to sometimes hilarious, sometimes angsty situations. Bailey’s sense of humor is effervescent and a little bit naughty. Naked harp playing anyone?!?! You can always depend on a Tessa Bailey book for a good, solid story, great writing, heat, and fun and Dream Girl Drama does not disappoint!

Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to read this early. The insta list between Chloe and Sig is palpable. I love Chloe’s personality and the story is a lot of fun. While it isn’t a life changing book, it was a fun fluffy romance that had lots of long awaited spice.

Tessa Bailey (almost) went there! The slow burn was agonizing but also made me finish this book in 2 days. By the time the MC were together, the book was over! I wish it would have happened a bit sooner so the ending didn't feel rushed. But the tension, the dirty talk, the spice was A+. If you enjoy Tessa Baileys writing and don't mind some open door, almost taboo, sports romance - this one is great!

Dream Girl Drama has a premise that was new to me in romance novels. They are about to become step-siblings in a world where that is seen as a really big taboo. I enjoyed the two of them getting to know each other and being each other's support. I had no idea how Tessa Bailey was going to get them out of their difficulty, but it was worth the wait. I definitely recommend this book.
