⭐️⭐️⭐️.2 stars!
I wanted to be full on obsessed because i was pinning for a story of these two! I think where it fell short is the story line is solely based on how they couldn’t be together due to their parents, even though they were adults living in a different city, etc. i just wanted to want MOREEEE. Some parts felt repetitive, but the chemistry was OOOOOOOOOOF😍 with so much chemistry i just needed it to progress yano? When the book first starts out i loved the fact that Sig & Chloe don’t even have an inkling that they would be attending the same dinner? Hahaha for some reason i really enjoyed that aspect. Overall, if you’ve read the other books and want to read about Sig & Chloe’s story, definitely pick it up!
I thought this book was a sweet love story! I thought the first encounter was a meet cute and soon realized that Sig and Chloe were heading to the same dinner and finding out their parents were to be married. I wished this book was a little bit spicer, I would LOVE to have seen this a dual POV from each character because it would've brought even more perspective for the readers. I thought it was so sweet how much Sig cared for Chloe and even found ways to give her everything she's used to with being cut off from her mother. The plot twist at the end shocked me to my core and at times I was so mad at Sig's mom I mean the way he described how close they were all to lie to him after all these years. I am so glad there was a happy ending for these two and I will definitely be reading Tess Bailey's other books!!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my early copy! All thoughts are my own!
I am screaming!!!
Okay, I am obviously obsessed with Sig! He may be my absolute favorite so far.
When I read the tropes and seen step siblings; I was like hummmm. Y’all I didn’t know that Tessa Bailey could make (almost) step siblings hot, but here we are.
I devoured this book as much as Sig devoured Chloe. I’m going to need Tessa Bailey to pump out more books like Sig is pumping into Chloe in this book, am I right?!
All jokes aside, Tessa never ceases to amaze me with her writing. I am always hooked at the start. I pray she makes an arc team and accepts me in it. I will forever be a fan!
I did not know how they were going to get out of that one, but I should already know not to doubt Tessa Bailey. I wish we saw more of them being best friends instead of just hinting at it and only talking about the tension filled moments. The time jumps made their friendship feel rushed. I could’ve gone for some wholesome best friend vibes in the beginning to really show they were close that way too without the sexual tension.
Otherwise super cute and I love this couple. I was rooting for them from page 1- Tessa Bailey never fails.
It was another Tessa Bailey that delivered in her true fashion. This series is such a fun series and this one didn't disappoint.
I could not put this one down and was very invested in finding out what happened with Sig and Chloe. Loved that this one was a slow burn and all the built up tension.
There were a couple more hinted at in this book so I hope this means there will be more in this series!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager | Avon for providing me this ARC for my honest review.
Sig and Chloe’s story starts with instant chemistry that sizzles from their very first meeting—only to take a complicated turn when they discover they’re about to become step-siblings. I really liked this book but the forbidden love trope was kind of lost on me for this one. I didn't think it would be THAT big of a deal for them to be together because they are not blood related. But, their bond and push-pull of their situation kept me hooked.
Sig is the ultimate cinnamon roll hero, balancing his tough, professional-athlete exterior with a soft, supportive core. His role in helping Chloe break free from her sheltered life was one of my favorite aspects of the book. Chloe’s transformation and their shared journey felt heartfelt, even if the insta-love vibe was a touch too quick for my taste—though, when you know, you know!
As always, Tessa's writing shines with her signature blend of humor, spice, and engaging characters. While it didn’t quite top Fan Girl Down for me, the epilogue’s hints about another potential couple have me excited for what’s next in the series.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you so very much to NetGalley and Tessa Bailey for the opportunity to read this book early! I absolutely love Tessa Bailey, and I’ve been following this series since it started. She really outdid herself with this one, and I can say with confidence Sig is my favorite character of the series so far.
Chloe and Sig’s ~drama~ is everything. The tension, the suspense, the heartbreak, everything about this book keeps you hooked and so very committed to the romance. Tessa Bailey does. It. Again.
This was everything I’ve come to expect, know and love about Tessa Bailey! Wildly dramatic, spicy as hell, and just fun! Sig was dream level romance man goals. I not so secretly loved the “taboo” aspect of this story, something different and fresh and really had me turning the pages to find out how these two were gonna make their relationship work. A fun read!
Color me surprised when I was actually approved for an ARC! Bigthank you to AVON for the chance to dive into this one early and offer areview.
After the disaster that was TAPA, I was so hopeful for Sig’s story. SO HOPEFUL. And I can'tlie; I was let down. Maybe I’ve been reading romance too long—maybe I’ve readthe same story thousands of times over, and really can’t see anything truly original anymore—I don’t know, but this book was a mess for me, with a big heaping spoonful of cringe on top.
It started off with promise, but the whole golf course insta-love thing to then finding out she’s going to be his stepsister in less than an hour? Meh. Not for me. I was hoping for a gradual fall—that they’d connect over helping to plan their parents' wedding, get to know each other as Chloe came into her own as an adult, etc…but the fact that Sig went insta-caveman-alpha-male and claimed Chloe, all while pulling her from her mothers’ control into…his. It was, as I said before, really cringey. I couldn't do much but roll my eyes at all of the things I wanted to come off as swoony when it came to him helping her out.
And then it just dragged on, and on, with the whole step-sibling thing thrown into our faces for almost the entire book, so much so, that when the big reveal happened, I didn't really care any more if they ended up together.
In all, this series has been a disappiontment for me, especially as a huge fan of Tessa Bailey.
Tessa Bailey delivers another irresistible read with Dream Girl Drama, an unconventional love story between Chloe and Sig, who discover they’re about to become step-siblings after already meeting and forming a connection. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and Bailey keeps you hooked from the very first page with her signature mix of humor, heat, and heart.
Rating: 3.5 stars.
The book is a quick read, with a cute meet-cute and adorable moments between the leads.
In "Dream Girl Drama" Sig and Chloe's romance blossoms after being introduced in a previous book.
Their relationship is filled with "forbidden love" and a mix of step-sibling and step-sister romance. However, the drama was dramaing. Chloe's character feels less independent than expected. Overall, the book is enjoyable, but could benefit from more development in its characters and plot.
I found the entire plot to be hard to swallow which made it difficult to enjoy the book. The stakes seemed to be fabricated as though we lived fifty years ago and not 2024. Would Chloe's mother be scandalized by the idea of her husband's son dating her daughter? Possibly. Enough to ruin her relationship? Doubtful. And I absolutely don't believe the hockey team or society in general would turn their noses up at them like it's some kind of scandal. If anything it would probably be the OPPOSITE and make them all more popular. Sig and Chloe's relationship was very sweet, even when they were trying to stay only friends, but I wish the stakes had been something believable.
Tessa Bailey remains a hit or miss for me and for the second time in the Big Shots series, it’s a miss. I felt like both Sig and Chloe were too one dimensional— it was hard for me to care about them when they both just didn’t feel real. I had no reason to be invested. Their relationship developed too quick for me and the resolution was too deus ex machina. Also, let’s talk about secondary characters! Tallulah is supposedly Chloe’s best friend in Boston, but we barely even hear her name in this book. The only people we see Chloe interact with, outside of Sig, is her mother and Grace, who suffers from the same one dimensionality issue. Overall, this one just missed the mark.
What a ride. Dream girl drama definitely lived up to its title. Tessa delivered on he step siblibg-ish taboo. I laughed, I cried, I got mad! I would definitely recommend this book.
I've been waiting for this one ever since Tessa started this series!! I loved their meet cute - I was so impressed with how Tessa went slightly back in time for this relationship.
Chloe and Sig meet and fall for each other an hour before they find out they are about to be stepsiblings. I'm generally not a fan of the instalove trope. But it really worked for this book. It was nice to see Tallulah and Burgess again in this book as well. I hope that Mailer and Corrigan get their own books. They brought some great comic relief.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I want to start off by saying that I really enjoy this series and get into and finish each book super quickly. They’re fun, and the characters are sweet and lovable.
This book was absolutely love at first sight. That’s not usually my thing but I was totally taken by Sig’s want to pamper and take care of Chloe.
However, I personally found the main plot of the story, the thing keeping them apart, to be… dramatic for no reason? So the fact that it was the entire cause of the slow burn, reason they couldn’t be together, constantly brought up as being so so wrong, seemed a little overdone and excessive. The thing is, they met as adults, never lived as siblings, weren’t brought up as siblings, had a romantic connection prior to finding out about their parent’s relationship, are not related in any way. I just don’t understand the “big deal”. From SOME perspectives and as a public figure I could talk myself into just going with the flow of what the book was trying to do, but I found myself getting a little irritated at that plot after a while. I just think there probably would be solutions, not to mention he was basically estranged from his dad from the start. So idk I guess I just don’t get why it was oh so terrible they had romantic feelings for each other, two unrelated adult people who met independently even from a family setting. It’s not like they met at a family reunion and had to clarify.
Anyway. I had to get past that quite a few times because it is the main plot of the entire book. BUT other than that, I did enjoy the experience of reading about their connection and loved how head over heels Sig was.
Thank you to Net Galley for the chance to read this early! It was fine overall, but certainly not my favorite of Tessa’s. The instant love and changing your whole life plan felt like a bit too much for me, but the story was cute as a whole.
Avon and NetGalley have blessed me with an eARC and I am so grateful! Tessa is on my short list of ride or die, read anything they write, no questions asked, authors and I am here to tell you Dream Girl Drama is a great time. Forbidden romance, insta-love, slow burn, angst, touch her and die, found family, BANTER I just loved it all and can’t wait to add the physical book to my shelf in February!
Tessa does NOT disappoint in this one. Chloe and Sig are actual soulmates and the story is just outrageous enough. I loved every bit of this.
