Dream Girl Drama is the third book in the Big Shots series. I thoroughly enjoyed Fangirl Down and The Au Pair Affair. I love Tessa Bailey and her writing. The Au Pair Affair gives a little taste of the chemistry between Chloe and Sig. I was so enamored by their characters and I could not wait to read their story. I was over the moon when I got the approval to read the early advanced copy of the book. And boy did Ms. Bailey deliver!
The book starts with the cutest and most swoon-worthy meet-cutes I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Their chemistry was so explosive from the start, that it was almost too much too soon. But the events that followed dampened the flames of the would-be love affair between our main characters. We knew that would happen, from the crumbs offered in The Au Pair Affair. But there’s something about the forbidden nature of their romance that just makes it more delicious.
This book had me grinning like a maniac the whole time. I devoured it; I could not put it down. Sig and Chloe have captured my heart. And the spice in this one was 💯 spicing 🥵🫣 The agonizing wait for the main characters to get together was well worth it. I absolutely enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading more of Tessa Bailey’s writing.
A million thanks to NetGalley, Avon, and HarperCollins for making one of my dreams come true. Thank you for the pleasure of allowing me to read the eARC for an honest review.
sig was literally down bad from the jump… I loved this book so much and I’m actually so sad I have to wait until February to discuss this with my friends 😭
Dreamgirl is not without its flaws. Some plot points feel slightly predictable, and certain moments could have been explored in greater depth. However, these minor shortcomings don’t overshadow the novel’s emotional impact.
I am usually a big Tessa Bailey fan, but her books lately have been feeling it’s the same thing but with different names
I really enjoyed this book! I was so excited to read about their story when we were introduced to them back in the second book. I was not disappointed at all! I felt all the emotions while reading this book and couldn’t put it down! I thought Chloe was wonderfully kind as well as sincere. Sig is a dreamboat! The way he cares and always shows up for Chloe, always encourages her and gives her the support she needs, is so admirable. I loved this book!
Big thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for the ARC!
SO, this is my favorite out of the Big Shots Series. I felt that it balanced the Lust vs True Love development the best... which I did not expect from a "forbidden love" trope. I thought Sig and Chloe were pretty well developed characters, and their communication was good. At least with each other. I was definitely rooting for them both separately and together.
Of course, the steam in Tessa Bailey books are great. And this book seemed the most.... dare I say.. consensual... out of the Big Shots Series. Also, I could not find any moments where I felt Chloe was objectified with no emotion behind it.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I would potentially read it again! And I would definitely recommend it for fans of Tessa Bailey and this genre of romance!
This one wasn't for me. Chloe, a harpist, lives a sheltered life with her wealthy mother. Sig is a rough and tumble professional hockey player. They meet by accident when Sig has car trouble, and it is lust at first sight. They find that Sig's father is getting married to Chloe's mother, and they are heartbroken as they are future step-siblings and can't date each other. There are some time jumps here, but the declarations of love so early on were off-putting to me, there wasn't the anticipation and build up of a couple getting together. Also I am not so sure about grown adults being "step siblings" is the deal breaker that this books seemed to convey. The plotline was strange, and his desire to do anything and everything for Chloe immediately was overbearing. A few scenes of his insane jealousy even seemed a bit problematic.
It is possible that the tropes here are just not ones that resonate with me. So I will say, if you like forbidden romance, sports/hockey romance, insta-love, then you may like this one!
"His entire life, he'd told himself--you don't need it. That he didn't require nice things. But Chloe...she was the first nice thing he couldn't live without."
~ Insta love
~ Pro hockey player x harpist
~ Somewhat step siblings
~ Slow burn
I know plenty of people who are big Tessa fans. This is only my second read by her, but unfortunately, it felt pretty underwhelming. For whatever reason, I don't typically enjoy third person romance books and this book confirmed that for me. Thankfully the step-sibling aspect wasn't as creepy as I was expecting to be. I just didn't find myself really caring about either MC; I thought there could have been some real character development, especially with the FMC, but there wasn't. Overall, if I didn't receive an ARC, I likely would have stopped reading around 25%. That being said, thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this early!
Dream Girl Drama is the third book of the Big Shot series. I loved Fangirl down and The Au Pair Affair and this one is just as good! I love reading smut written by Tessa Bailey! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I just can’t get enough of Sig and Chloe. I love their chemistry and the way they can’t keep their hands off each other. 😂😂 This book is an unconventional romance with possible step-siblings who fell in love and can’t be together. I knew it was going to be a happy ending but I was curious about how Tessa will turn things around to have the characters end up together. The resolution made sense and it also gave hints on the next couple! ⚾️⚾️⚾️ overall, this book had me hooked since the beginning and I am so happy for the characters at the end!
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC in exchange for an honest review !
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Dream Girl Drama is the third book of Tessa Bailey’s Big Shots series. If Tessa Bailey writes and insta love/attraction book, I’m going to devour it, and this was no exception. We follow the story of Sig and Chloe and their slowburn! We caught glimpses of Chloe and Sig in an earlier book in the series and I was down to see how this forbidden romance would play out. Sig was so DOWN BAD and Chloe was more than a ditzy blonde. Both of their character arcs were balanced yet still kept a little light and funny. Definitely add this to your tbr!
4.5/5 stars!

Never met a Tessa Bailey I didn’t absolutely devour. This one was ALMOST the one off. I don’t do step siblings, I don’t care what the extent of the step is, I don’t care that the parents weren’t married yet.. but here I was CRYING because they couldn’t be together.
Sig’s unwavering support and commitment to Chloe and keeping her safe and happy had me absolutely giggling and kicking my feet this entire book. The push and pull of the will they won’t they for most of the book absolutely drove me; they spend months being each other’s longing best friend before anything happens, which I appreciate because instant love doesn’t always feel right. Tessa writes love like no one else, but the spice?! When they finally crossed that line I was screaming.
I won’t spoil anything but the twist and the ending had me absolutely bawling like a little baby, I love when books make me cry.
Dream Girl Drama is the 3rd installment of this series by Tessa Bailey. I really enjoyed the first two books, but something was missing for me in this one and I’m not sure what.
We were introduced to Sig and Chloe in book 2 and I was excited to see them again. Their meet cute was, well, cute! Everything changes when they realize they are about to be step siblings. They definitely was a lot of lust between the two of them. I wish there would have been more interaction between Chloe and her friends, like in the previous book. There definitely was a lot of drama and there was a decent balance between Sig and Chloe’s individual stories, and their story together.
Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Fans of Fan Girl Down and The Au Pair Affair will love the 3rd book in the series following Sig and Chloe who were introduced in the Affair. I was intrigued by their “taboo” relationship as you can see sparks are there but they don’t act on them because they are about to become step siblings. Dream Girl starts off in the past showing how Sig and Chloe met and felt instant sparks/lust from the beginning but they’re quickly shut down as they find out their parents are about to get married and they are becoming step siblings. They have such great natural chemistry around each other. Straight off the bat, they are both into each other. So maybe not instant love but more of instalust which I’m not a huge fan of. Sprinkle some tender moments and heartfelt conversations in there.
The pacing is a bit slow but picks up after awhile. A case of insta love mixed with a really slow burn and a soft taboo, I think most fans of Bailey will enjoy this book if they like her others. It wasn’t my favorite of hers but still enjoyable as a standalone or as part of the series. I could feel the push and pull between Sig and Chloe and wish they’d been able to get together sooner. Would definitely recommend this read.
Thanks NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC copy to review.
This was my favorite of the Big Shots books so far!! I loved that we got little sneak previews of Sig & Chloe prior to this book but really got to know them and their situation more here. It was the perfect mix of slow burn / will they, won’t they but also with an immediate connection that was undeniable. I loved seeing their growth individually and together and think Tessa did a great job with the ensemble cast as well. It definitely makes me excited for the two teased couples’ stories. Thank you so much to Tessa Bailey, the publisher and NetGalley for access to the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I rarely meet a Tessa book I don't like and this one was no exception. The slow burn was PHENOMENAL. I absolutely LOVED the taboo-ness. The spice was impeccable as always and I genuinely liked the characters. I was seriously doubting how she was going to wrap this up with a HEA but she pulled it off.
Insta love, insta spice but actually the background storylines are really good. These two are undoubtably charming & have lovely chemistry. I’ve read the other two in this series and seeing characters come back was quite enjoyable!
When sig and Chloe meet it's love at first sight. But little do they know they are about to be step siblings.
Ok I enjoyed this but cmon they aren't related by blood and they met before their parents met. I don't get why they couldn't be together especially since they are adults.
Fans of Fangirl Down and The Au Pair Affair will LOVE Dream Girl Drama. I really enjoyed reading about Sig and Chloe's forbidden love and found Tessa Bailey's steamy writing to be satisfying as always!
I really love Tessa Bailey's books and even after just finishing DREAM GIRL DRAMA, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I did enjoy it, but not necessarily as much as I have enjoyed some of her other books.
The romance was definitely unconventional and other than forbidden or taboo, I'm not really sure I would know how to characterize the main tropes of this book. You have Sig and Chloe that have an insta-love attraction during their meet cute and have plans to see each other later that night, but when they each get to their destination, they realize that their parents are getting married and that they're going to be step-siblings. We get glimpses of their relationship in the previous two books of the series, but this was not the way I thought it would play out.
The pacing was interesting. For the first 30%, you have the background of how they met and how they got to Boston together and then the last 70% is a fast-forward into the present where you see how they fight their forbidden romance, even though they are madly in love with each other. The book is a quick read, especially with the interesting pacing.
My biggest qualm was that there was more telling and not showing of their emotional intimacy and how they were madly in love with each other for most of the book without getting together. I also wanted more growth from Chloe's character, especially as she branches out on her own in Boston. She was incredibly dependent on Sig for everything and I really wanted her to find her way sooner, instead of relying on him for everything.
Overall, it was a fun book, but not my favorite of the series. But I will also keep reading, because I loved the Easter Eggs thrown in for the next book.
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Netgalley.
Dream Girl Drama is the 3rd installment of her Big Shots series. We saw Sig and Chloe in The Au Pair Affair and saw a brief glimpse of their unusual relationship, and i was so curious about them. This book can be read as a stand-alone.
Sig and Chloe meet and have an instant connection that is ruined when they learn a few hours later that their parents are getting married, making them step siblings.
The slow burn build-up and yearning these characters have for each other while trying to not act on their feelings can be felt through the pages. Their friendship is great, and I was rooting for them to get their chance the whole time. Chloe was sheltered from real world problems her whole life, and Sig needs someone to care for.
The only thing that really kept me from sitting down and devouring this book in 1-2 sittings was the fact it was written in 3rd person POV. I don't read many books written like this and it took me a bit to get into the swing of it. (I'm assuming the first 2 were written the same, but honestly, I don't recall. I'm sure in the future I will forget if this one was or not either.)
Thank you to NetGalley and Tessa Bailey for this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
Rating: 4/5 Stars
This was adorable! I’m having the best time with this series. So easy to binge and so fun.
