I always enjoy a Tessa Bailey book and Dream Girl Drama is no exception. I quick binged the first two books in this series (I refuse to read books out of order) and enjoyed both, though I do prefer hockey to golf so The Au Pair Affair and Dream Girl Drama were more my speed just from background knowledge. The tension has been building between Sig and Chloe throughout The Au Pair Affair and they finally got their own story.

I enjoyed this book for the most part but by the end I was done with the "but he/she is going to be my stepbrother/stepsister so we just CAN'T" banter that was in every chapter. I understand that it helped build the tension, I just wish there was maybe a different way that they could have captured it. Overall, I enjoyed the story and liked the resolution of it all so I would still recommend. With partial stars, I gave this a 3.75.

Tessa Bailey has done it again! She has slowly but surely become one of my favorite authors because of the humor she writes into her books, as well as the relationships she creates. I don't know how she does it, but I love everything about it!

This book follows professional hockey player Sig Gauthier, who, after a chance encounter, discovers that his dream girl, Chloe, is about to become his stepsister. From the very first chapter, I knew this book would soon become one of my favorites. You could feel the heat and chemistry between the main characters right from the start. Every single moment they weren't together, every single moment they were apart, was filled with so many emotions.

Sig and Chloe cared deeply for one another, and the forbidden aspect of their relationship made this book even better! It was sweet, spicy, and heartwarming, and I cannot wait for it to be out in the world!

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for providing this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Tessa Bailey with another banger. I laughed, cried, and cringed just a little (iykyn). I love a hockey romance and devoured this book. As a girly with a praise kink, this is my jam - forbidden love, verging-on-taboo (Tessa’s words), perfect spice and a man I would do anything for.

“Some people surf Internet porn. I surf sporting goods websites.” Girl, you and me both. I loved the development of the FMC, Chloe - no matter who you are, moving from a small town to a huge city is a daunting task.

“Perhaps threatening murder wasn’t romantic, but her heart didn’t seem to understand that.”

Sig - the man you are. Perfection. Protective, brooding, unstoppable, devoted. You can call me a good girl any day.

A sweet, sexy love story that is not to be overlooked. The chemistry is *chefs kiss* - the support Chloe and Sig give each other is incredible.

“An actual zebra with a whistle would be better at your job, ref!” I laughed out loud at Chloe hurtling insults at the refs.

Miss Tessa Bailey, please don’t ever stop writing sports romances.

Dream Girl Drama is the third book in the Big Shots series from Tessa Bailey, but they can all very much read as complete standalones.
Having seen glimpses of Sig and Chloe in the previous book, I was super excited to get to experience their story. Their relationship began as a very much insta sort of connection. Then circumstances lead them to being put in an awkward situation so they felt as if they couldn't take their relationship any further than just being the best of friends, even if they had the most feral of attraction to one another. They just can't act on it for the sake of their reputation and their families.

I'm a reader that doesn't always love an instant love sort of romance, but Tessa Bailey can prove me wrong all the time with her characters and storytelling. I adored Sig and Chloe's meet cute and the way they really connected from the first second. What I didn't care for was what kept them apart for so long. They were going to be step siblings because their parents were marrying one another. Duh duh duh....That forbidden aspect of the relationship was sort of thrown out the window for me simply because they were adults and I just wasn't having it. But that was their whole roadblock of coming together. They really had no other issues. They loved and respected each other. They cheered each other up and cheered each other on in their pursuits. They just had to fight their attraction because of their parents. Meh....

But, there is much I did like. Bailey is an amazing writer and I always love her characters. I loved Sig's teammates and the comraderie they had. I absolutely loved how gone Sig was for Chloe and how hard he fell for her. His life purpose was to take care of Chloe and give her everything. His life's meaning changed the minute he laid eyes on her. *Swoon*

"Love," Harry said flatly. "You love her?"
"I exist for her."

With how much I loved Sig, it was a little disappointing that I couldn't love Chloe as much. She went from one person taking care of her to another person taking care of everything for her and not growing a lot on her own, but I did love how much she loved Sig no matter his background, no matter where he lived, no matter what he drove. They were just IT!

Overall, this was a fun read and I enjoyed the slow burn that was filled with pining and was just dripping with sexual tension, but the forbidden aspect that kept them apart just wasn't all that forbidden and seemed kind of off. I really needed more of them TOGETHER together. With all that said, we did get hints at some other relationships and I am excited to see those hopefully play out in future books. Bring on those Rookie Orgasm Donors. #iykyk 3.5 stars

I know Tessa Bailey is extremely popular for her steamy rom coms. This one was not my favorite, but could be a good fit for a variety of readers.

Chloe, a wealthy harp prodigy from Connecticut, meets Sig Gauthier, a rugged humble professional hockey player when his truck breaks down at her country club. Sparks fly but then they learn that their (awful) parents are getting married. Their parents forbid them from dating because of the optics. In my opinion, they are 25 years old. I don’t think that creates a concerning relationship, but it was the basis of the entire book. It’s also very insta love and lust. If that’s what you’re into, you may love this one, but for me it felt like it had little substance.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I will be honest and say I almost DNF’d this book but I decided to finish it and I was pleasantly surprised with the ending. They fell in love instantly. It felt way too rushed for me. There wasn’t much stuff happening between them that I thought was sweet and I don’t feel as if there was much character development. Sig was overly possessive and Chloe was dumber than a bag of bricks. Who knew bricks could even be dumb.
“Having her in Boston was going to be full-time murder on his sanity. Yet having her three hundred miles away would be worse.” Uhhh, you guys only met 24 hours ago. Stuff like that made it hard to really immerse myself in their relationship because it was just SO. QUICK.
However, the twist at the end was redeeming. It started off pretty “eh”, but ended with a “hmmm, okay.🙂”

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this book! I flew through this book in two days. It is the third of a trilogy, but could be read as a stand alone. It has some crossover with characters from the other books, but has its own storyline. I went back and forth whether to rate this a 3 or 4. It was an easy read and I did have a hard time putting it down. I found Chloe to be a bit child-like. Sig, while over-protective also came off a bit controlling. I wasn’t sure I was completely into their dynamic and they seemed to fall into a love-at-first-sight trope. The connection between the two happened so quickly that I was trying to figure out if they actually had met before, and I missed something. After continuing through the first chapter I realized they had not. On the positive, there were a few laugh out loud moments in the book. I’m more likely to cry at a book than laugh, so parts were definitely fun. I did like how the last couple chapters rounded out. There was a twist in the end I wasn’t expecting. Per usual for Tessa Bailey, this novel was also spicy. It was nice to catch the third book in this series, as I have read the others. I liked the other two a bit more, but would recommend this to other reader looking for a good rom-com.

This is just your run of the mill love story. Boy meets girl, boy and girl know they are meant for each other, boy and girl find out they are going to be step siblings…. Yes, you read that right. Sig Gauthier, Boston’s most eligible bachelor can’t believe his luck when his truck breaks down on his way to meet his estranged father and his new girlfriend. He runs into none other than the sheltered, harp prodigy Chloe Clifford and the sparks fly for both of them. They both feel it and know they are meant for one another, but before they can seal the deal they must run off to their pressing engagements. That’s where they run into each other again and learn not only are their parents dating but are engaged to be married. Now fighting their feelings for each other, Sig promises to help Chloe learn to become independent in Boston so she can pursue her dreams, while keeping his hands off her. This proves to be easier said than done as they deal with family drama, career opportunities and their growing feelings for one another.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters and how in the end they were both willing to give up their relationship so the other person could achieve their dreams. Although, at times Chloe’s “princess” characteristics annoyed me; ie not learning to pay her own rent, managing her money, getting a dog without thinking about the consequences, etc. However, she was relatable in her self doubt of being able to live independently and achieve her goals.

This book is the 3rd book in the Big Shots series. I have read the first book but not the second of the series. It can be read as a standalone and is written from Chloe and Sig’s POV’s.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tess Bailey and Avon Publishers for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Tessa Bailey brought the heat in spicy, swoony hockey romance! I think she's found her match with writing in the hockey realm because this may be my favorite from her so far. Loved the characters and the MINE vibes throughout!

Ever since I got a whiff of these two in the Au Pair Affair l've been dying to read their story. I loved every minute being with Sig and Chole. Their insta love had me hooked from the very beginning and to see how they overcome the obstacles in their way, Whew! Thank you, Avon and Harper Voyager & NetGalley, for blessing me with the digital ARC of Dream Girl Drama!

So for me this book didn’t really do it and it’s not that it was a bad book. I think the Insta love from the beginning threw me off and made me not enjoy the book as much.

I feel like Sig is your golden retriever guy, which I love the golden retriever guys, but he was on another level that I just didn’t find adorable.
I thought that he went a little too in from the get-go with Chloe and kind of treated her the way her mom treated her and that was part of the problem of her being how she was.

About 50% through it got funny and more cute and I enjoyed the last half enough to be neutral on it. I didn’t love or hate. It was a quick enjoyable read.

There’s dogs in it and that’s also a bonus for me.

Professional hockey player Sig Gauthier runs into Chloe Clifford at a country club. They are drawn together like magnets and promise to meet later that evening, as both have dinner plans. When Sig arrives to have dinner with his father and meet his father's girlfriend, he is not surprised to learn of their engagement. What does surprise him is Chloe's presence: she is about to become his step-sister. Sig and Chloe spend the next several months trying to keep their relationship platonic, but it becomes increasingly difficult. What can you do when you can't have the person you're meant to be with?

This is one of my favorite Tessa Bailey novels so far. The tension was as thick as the ice on a hockey rink. I really felt the longing between Sig and Chloe, and it broke my heart. I had no idea how the book would resolve, so I was invested in the entire story. The way Sig cared for Chloe was so sweet, and he is definitely one of my new book boyfriends. Although this was certainly a romantic comedy, it had a lot of heart and deeper themes like difficult parent relationships. Of course, as with any Tessa Bailey book, the spice was excellent. Absolutely read this book as soon as you can!

Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for the ARC! This was my first Tessa Bailey book, and it did not disappoint! The angst, the character development, the surprise twist were all very well done!

PHEW, this was steamyyyyyy. In true Tessa fashion, there was a ton of dirty talk and a possessive type of man. However, it didn't feel toxic or overbearing. I thought their connection and love was beautiful. It was a different story/plot but it WORKED. I have loved reading this series and I hope there's more?!

Favorite Tessa Bailey book EVER! Swoon worthy & I just could not put it down!!!! The tension in this book is unmatched compared to every other TB book. Chloe & Sig are goals! The character growth in Chloe made me so proud!

Book 3 in the series but can be read standalone. Drama and angst and spice (lots of it)! I hesitate to say romance, but if you suspend your normal romcom and reality expectations, this fits the bill.
-Hockey Romance
-Slow Burn then SPICE
-Just One Time
-“MINE” (iykyk)

Chloe is a harp prodigy (yes, you read that correctly) who had a very instant, very sexy meet-cute with Sig (NHL player) at her country club. They have to cut their instant attraction short because they both need to be somewhere. Turns out, their parents are engaged! Sig helps (controls?) Chloe’s move away from her mom’s sphere of control, while trying to figure out how they can actually be together without ruining both of their careers. The tension is palpable.

Only ask would have been more of their life together once things were settled. I wanted to see some dates! Some romance!

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.25 Stars! (Rounded up to 5)

Chloe & Sig are a modern day Romeo & Juliet. Pulled apart by their parents engagement announcement after a “Love at First Sight” meeting, both decide to stay in each other’s lives as best friends. However, Sig never gives up on how to turn his dream girl drama into forever.

This book had my heart racing until the very end! Chloe is an incredibly relatable FMC. The constant rambling, shouting, shopping - she is such a girl’s girl! Sig is DOWN BAD from the moment he meets Chloe. Every girl deserves a Sig. A man that will go on the hunt for all the Strawberry Pop Tarts so she never misses her favorite breakfast meal. Loved the glimpses of Burgess & Tallulah throughout and CANNOT wait for book 4!

Tropes:
- Taboo(ish) Romance (Future Step Siblings)
- Forced Proximity
- Pro Hockey Player MMC
- Musician FMC
- Slow Burn

I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Avon and Harper Voyager on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Not gonna lie, the subject matter surrounding step siblings and romance made me a little leery going into it, but I think this ended up being my favorite of the Big Shots series! The tension, build-up, and emotional turmoil experienced by the main characters, as well as the complicated family dynamics and blending of different backgrounds made this a hard one to put down. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

A huge thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC of this book. I really appreciate it!

Dream Girl Drama follows Sig Gauthier and Chloe Clifford as they navigate the sparks flying between them while living with the knowledge their parents are getting married, making them stepsiblings. They met by chance when Sig's truck broke down at a country club Chloe happened to be a member at, leading to kisses on a golf course and promises of later. Only when Sig shows up to his dad's dinner, he's shocked to find Chloe playing the harp in her mother's house.

As the months go by, Sig and Chloe are forced to ignore the passion and attraction between them while living their lives together. At some point, it can no longer be ignored, and the fire ignites.

I've been waiting for this book since we were first introduced to them. Even in Au Pair Affair, you could feel the tension between them (though it came off as more annoyance in that book). Though this book was taboo (ish), it never felt icky. Tessa did a GREAT job with the tension and longing between Sig and Chloe. I felt like crying for Chlo at times, she just wanted love. I was very glad to see the HEA at the end, and sure didn't see the way they were able to have it coming! I kind of wish the epilogue didn't involve her being pregnant for selfish reasons, but completely saw that coming. :)

This was such a fun book to read. I was so excited to read Sig and Chloe’s book and it didn’t disappoint. Sig is seriously so sweet and would do anything for Chloe. Watching Chloe grow throughout the book was amazing. I’m not a huge fan of insta love but because they were forced to form a friendship first it caused crazy tension and chemistry between them. This also made the slow burn so worth it. These two were perfect for each other. Overall this was such a cute, funny, and lighthearted read.
