I dove into this book so fast after it hit my Kindle. After reading The Au Pair Affair, I was fascinated by Sig and Chloe and their relationship. Their story did not disappoint! I loved it so much! They care for each other even though their love is forbidden as they are future step-siblings. Their tension and chemistry for each other were off the charts! The Big Shots series by Tessa Bailey is an absolute favorite of mine! Another great hit!
I already pre-ordered my B&N special edition copy.
Please read if you love:

Cute and hot romance with two fun characters. There were a lot of lovely moments between the two, and I really enjoyed being more in this world!
Sig Gauthier meets his dream girl, Chloe, when his truck breaks down at a country club on the way to dinner with his estranged father and his father’s fiancé. With plans to meet later, Sig gets his truck fixed and heads to dinner. Unfortunately, once there, he discovers his dream girl is also his soon to be stepsister, Chloe Clifford. Chloe is a sheltered harp prodigy who dreams of getting out from under her mother’s thumb. Sig promises to help her.
I absolutely love this book and these characters. Dream Girl Drama is heartbreak in book form. Watching Sig and Chloe love each other and pine for each other through most of the book was so hard but also so very rewarding. I don’t think I’ve ever seen mutual pining and slow burn done half as well as Tessa Bailey did in this book. It’s just so beautifully done, as evidenced by the volume of tears I shed for these two. While very different from the first two books in the Big Shots series, it is just as good, and I would absolutely recommend you read it!
I think we have all been excited for a love story between Sig and Chloe. I was mostly unsure of how they would connect and what their story would unfold into. But what we get in Dream Girl Drama is not exactly what I expected.
Their parents are getting married. So after a very heated introduction at a country club, they discover their parents are in love and getting married. Which means that they can't. ANGST for days and months ensue. LONGING for weeks and chapters kept me reading. But there were times when I felt like this forbidden romance was over done. I read like a fiend. It was addicting and I binged like a champ. But at times texted friends and said "really?? this??"
So, while it was a quick and easy read, some parts were frustrating. Some of their problems were preventable and could have been fixed with a conversation and a plan. The planner heart in me struggled at times.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! I knew instantly from reading about Chloe and Sig in Au Pair Affair that they were getting their own book and wow did it deliver!
Sig and Chloe meet at a country club before they are shocked to learn their parents are marrying each other and they will be step siblings very soon…They have to deny their feelings and just be friends while living in the same city. There was so much tension and longing. Their chemistry was unreal and I didn’t want to stop reading! I think this might be one of my favorite Tessa Bailey books. I also love all the supporting characters and how funny they are. I can’t wait for Skylar and Corrigans book! I love her hints of future couples in her books.
Sig’s possessiveness was just a bit too much for me, so that’s why I didn’t rate it a 5. I understand how it worked with Chloe’s character but I found myself rolling my eyes sometimes when it would be too much. Besides that, I couldn’t stop reading because I desperately wanted to see how they would find a way to be together. I did not expect that twist at the end! I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Sig and Chloe’s story was great
A cute read filled with drama and forbidden love and some funny parts
If you enjoyed Tessa’s other books you will love this
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the eARC in exchange for an honest review (my first!!)
This is a perfect example of a “potato chip” book - I devoured the whole thing in one sitting! Was there a lot of “nutritional value”? Not really. Did I have an awesome time consuming it? Absolutely. I love Tessa Bailey’s laugh-out-loud humor, the intense pining, and the complicated family dynamics. I wish that we had gotten MORE from both of our main characters, though. I feel like I still know very little about either of them apart from their financial situations and being obsessed with one another. The first half of the book felt rushed - I would have loved to spend more time in those six months they were falling in love with one another. I feel like Sig and Chloe were lacking the depth of our MMC & FMC of the first two Big Shots books. The back half was phenomenal, though, and I thoroughly enjoyed spending more time with Burgess and the Rookies - I neeeeeeeed Corrigan & Skylar’s story!
I read all of Tessa’s books and adore this series. However, this title did not grab my attention like the previous ones did. I like the Boston setting and the relationship challenge but it’s not a story I’d rave about. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Tessa Bailey did it again! From the moment Sig and Chloe were introduced I knew I wouldn't be able to put their book down. Their introduction in The Au Pair Afair was set up so perfectly and I couldn't wait to read this.
This forbidden romance centers around Sig and Chloe after a chance meeting then finding out they're about to be step siblings. With Chloe's controlling mother and Sig's estranged father keeping them apart Sig is willing to do anything to keep his Dream Girl in his life.
These characters have some of the best chemistry I've read. Their build up as best friends has you cheering then on the whole time. Sig does everything he can to provide for Chloe to help her find her independence, and while Chloe is sheltered and naive, she shows up for Sig like no one ever has.
Big Shots has not disappointed in introducing the next books couple. I'll be waiting impatiently for Corrigan and Skylar story.
Future step siblings meet and fall for each other, but they can’t be together, because it would look “weird”. The whole storyline revolved around this and this was probably why I couldn’t fully enjoy this one. This one wasn’t the worst, but it def wasn’t my favorite. For me, I just couldn’t understand why it would be weird for them to be together when they met as adults before they even knew their parents were together. All they would have to do is say that publicly and I felt like it wouldn’t be weird at all? Maybe I am not familiar with famous/rich people customs and right vs wrong?
The chemistry between them was extreme. But I don’t know that it felt like love, more like lust. And the FMC seemed so helpless at times & he was doing everything for her and getting nothing in return… idk this one just was outside of my ability to understand.
The best part about this book was definitely the chemistry between them though and that saved the book. I think some people will really enjoy this book, but it was just so-so for me.

I enjoyed Chloe and Sig in The Au Pair Affair and was excited for their story. I loved Sig and Chloe’s meet cute and think Tessa Bailey did a great job capturing their connection. Chloe is a rich, ditz stereotype that comes across as endearing at some points, but I think there could have been more plot on her growth - living and working on her own, maybe recognizing her privilege? My primary issue with Sig is that he has absolutely no personality outside of Chloe. It felt like 60% of the book was pining and no plot. I agree with some of the other reviewers who thought the pacing was weird. I don’t really think the step siblings obstacle was that big of a deal in this instance. They met as adults and were not raised as siblings. All that being said, I ripped through this book and it was a good time.
Fangirl Down remains my favorite of this series, but I’m looking forward to Pitcher Perfect.
After we were introduced to Sig and Chloe in the last book of the series, I knew I needed to read their story in Dream Girl Drama! I've been loving "forbideen love" types of romances lately and wanted more of this would be step brother and step sister romance 👀. I read a good 1/3 of the book in one sitting. I loved the meet cute between Sig and Chloe - they were so adorable and you could feel the sparks between them. The slow burn in this book was burning and I wanted Sig and Chloe to finally get together!
I will say that this book did indeed have a lot of drama as the title suggests. There was a lot going on in the last quarter of the book. I also wish that Chloe were a bit more independent. I get that she left from under her moms thumb, but I wish there were more about her relationship with her friends like Tallulah from the previous book.
Overall, I still enjoyed Dream Girl Drama and would give it 3.5 stars!
Dream Girl Drama by Tessa Bailey is a steamy rom com with professional hockey player Sig Gauthier crossing paths with Chloe Clifford, a carefree harp prodigy, in the most unexpected of ways. Their chance encounter at a country club sets the stage for what could be a sizzling romance, until a family revelation throws a wrench into their connection. Sig’s dream girl, Chloe, is about to become his stepsister, forcing the two into an awkward situation of resisting their undeniable chemistry. The story is full of humor and heat as the pair navigates their attraction and family dynamics. This book has sharp wit, well crafted tension, and moments of heartwarming vulnerability!
It was indeed a dream girl drama! I think it was an ok read overall. I just lost interest rapidly after 50% because things started to give me the ick. The forbidden romance aspect was a bit lost in the plot like I did not feel the angst AT ALL, it was mild at best. Incredibly cheesy but it’s ok.
Somewhere around a 4 for me! Maybe 4.5 ?
I did enjoy it, I honestly liked it more than the Au pair affair. But fangirl down is still the top read for me!
I love Tessa’s writing overall! I will say for this book I wish there were more elements of hockey, any kind of scene of Sig on the ice something like that. This focused more on Chloe music which was still enjoyable, but based on the cover it seems like a heavy hockey book. There are mentions of sig and his contract but that’s the only main hockey element, it’s just a very light sport book in comparison to the other 2 series.
I will say this book had me rooting for Chloe and sig so much. I wasn’t sure how I would enjoy a step sibling relationship and I loved how it ended up. The elements of them wanting to not cross the best friend area, the tension, them trying to find a way to break off their parents engagement. It was a fun read overall.
I’ll be recommending this and I can’t wait to eventually own it on my shelf! I’m excited to see where this series overall will be heading.
I do hope that the original characters still remain with references or moments in the books though. I love the references and little moments so much! Little homage to the previous books and the characters we all fell for. Especially hearing about how they have grown and where they are now is always wonderful.
I knew from the moment we met Sig and Chloe in the Au Pair Affair that they would be a match made in heaven and Dream Girl Drama delivered on that and then some. They complimented each other so well, and I loved how they motivated each other to be better versions of themselves. Tessa took a taboo romance and put an unexpected spin on it, and she deserves all the props in the world for her ability to write this storyline so well. Sig and Chloe had a forbidden love and the way we saw them fight their feelings brought SO. MUCH. Tension that had the best payoff!!! I can’t wait to see what’s next in the Big Shot series because I am HOOKED ❤️
Okay my dear bookworms, raise your hand if you were dying to read Chloe and Sig’s story since their introduction in the previous book! I’m definitely raising both hands! Honestly, I barely skimmed the blurb before diving right in—I was too excited to see what would unfold between these two.
Can you imagine? You meet your dream girl in a whirlwind of moonlit kisses and shared secrets, only to discover that she’s about to become your stepsister. That’s exactly the wild, heart-wrenching dilemma Sig finds himself in, thanks to his estranged, grifter father deciding to marry Chloe’s wealthy mother, Sofia. What starts as a picture-perfect romantic connection quickly spirals into a forbidden love that seems impossible to pursue. Yet, the chemistry between Sig and Chloe is undeniable, and no matter how much they try to resist, the sparks between them only grow hotter.
Sig can’t just let his dream girl slip away, and Chloe, with her sheltered harp-playing background, finds herself falling deeper for him with every encounter. While they both hope their parents' whirlwind romance will somehow fall apart, it seems unlikely, leaving Sig and Chloe in a complicated emotional bind. Watching them navigate this tricky situation while still building an undeniable bond is equal parts sweet and sizzling.
I already adored these characters from their previous appearances, and seeing them fully take the stage in Dream Girl Drama was so satisfying. Sig’s protective nature and Chloe’s quiet strength create a perfect match, and the way their relationship balances tenderness with tension kept me hooked. The playful banter, steamy moments, and heartfelt exchanges made me root for their happily-ever-after from page one. It’s the perfect blend of spice and sweetness, and let’s just say, I didn’t want to see them separated for even a second!
Tessa Bailey strikes gold with this one, giving us a love story that’s forbidden, electric, and full of heart. If you’ve been eagerly waiting for Sig and Chloe to get their moment, this book delivers in every way. Keep your fingers crossed for them, because you’ll be just as invested in their love story as they are!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager | Avon for providing me this spicy sports romance' digital reviewer copy in exchange of my honest review.
This was everything I was hoping for and more! Sig & Chloe were introduced in The Au Pair Affair, but I did not understand the depth of their relationship until this book. I loved their backstory and the reveals about Sig's childhood. If you love Tessa Bailey and especially the Big Shots series, you definitely need to read this. Can work as a stand-alone, but I suggest reading in order for the full experience. I hope there is at least one or two more in this series - I feel a few possibilities were hinted at.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for providing this book, with my honest review below.
Tessa Bailey writes some of the most engaging and spicy mainstream romances out there and Dream Girl Drama was a fantastic addition to the group, with endearing characters and a plot that has a bit of a mystery to it as a bonus.
Sig is a hockey player waiting for his first big contract to catapult his bank balance, and Chloe is an overly sheltered harp prodigy. When the two meet at Chloe’s country club they fall into instant lust and even love (ok, this part was a little harder to get behind) but that same night they discover that Sig’s deadbeat dad and Chloe’s controlling mom are set to marry. Despite that Sig quickly helps Chloe break free of her sheltered upbringing and supports her through music school in Boston, while the two quickly get even closer in their friendship (no kissing step brother and sister once they know their fate). While trying to keep their hands off each other, they each see their passions for their respective fields open up to big breaks, but this raises the stakes on not giving into their more base desires. From there we see plenty of conflict coming up and some light shunning and mystery solving (on Sid’s side) but all of it is pretty funny and well written. While I won’t pretend this is believable, I found myself laughing and gunning for Sig and Chloe to find a way to be together. Pick this up - it’s a great callback to some of Tessa Bailey’s breakout hit books.
Just like the 2nd in this series, it was mot my favorite from Tessa. I thought I would hate the step-sibling trope but she actually tackled it in a very clever and fun way. But that is probably the only thing I liked about this. Characters did not do it for me and the pacing felt like it was a novella. There was a lack of tension because the romance felt rushed. Not even sports to make this a sports romance to me.
