The step-sibling romance I didn’t know I needed! The romance started as an instant connection, quickly turned forbidden love, then turned slow burn pining. I LOVED the naive yet exploratory and confident FMC and the over protective but encouraging MMC.
The love felt for one another in Sig and Chloe’s relationship was so evident throughout the book, and I ate up every bit of Tessa’s writing. There were several instances of “if he wanted to he would,” but from both sides of the relationship. Swoon!
This was a fun, hot, and easy read! I love the Big Shots series and can’t wait for more (hoping we see Corrigan and Skylar next)!
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon books for providing me with a full eARC. All opinions are my own.
You guys!!! I just finished the next Tessa Bailey book. Dream Girl Drama was awesome. I loved it. A five star read.
So much forbidden(ish) and steamy fun! Bailey always delivers a one of a kind story filled with humor, emotion, and charm. The layers of emotion that she manages to create make the story feel so real that I always manage to laugh and cry!
Out in early February, I couldn’t wait to read this one as soon as it came available on Netgalley. I love this community of characters and can't wait for the next Big Shots book!
Literally, I have been waiting for the Sig and Chloe book ever since they were introduced in The Au Pair Affair. And let me tell you that it lived up to it's expectations and more. The tension between Sig and Chloe was just so perfect that I was waiting for them to be together already. I kept on reading because I needed to happen asap, and it took it sweet time. It did give me the opportunity to appreciate how much Sig and Chloe care for each other. They both did things for each other that made their relationship so much truer. However, there was just one issue that annoyed me at most. The whole stepbrother-sister drama was a tad too much. They weren't related, so I don't understand the whole drama about it, plus none of them are underage or met when they were younger. The endless drama was a tad too much. Just saying.
Thank you to Avon Publishing and Netgalley for the arc of my dreams(girl)
After reading The Au Pair Affair was chomping at the bit to read Sig and Chloe’s story. Their dynamic was so good!
The main trope we have here is forbidden. The connection between these two was everything! Tessa is so good at the slow burn—especially when the two are so down bad for each other.
This one is a serious contender for best of the month so far. I just adored the writing. Tessa can really do no wrong.
I think we got a sneak peek at her next book in the series with one of the rookies! 🤭
This one is out in February! I will continue to talk your ear off about it till then!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I didn't think Tessa Bailey could write something I love more than It Happened One Summer, but she got REALLY REALLY close with this one! I loved the build up to Sig and Chloe in the previous book and my oh my did their story not disappoint. Their initial meeting was fun, but I loved their immediate connection that kept growing. They were best friends and had the cutest relationship. GAH! This was so cute! I was unsure how they were going to resolve the main issue...and honestly, I don't understand the big issue with the step siblings angle...it is not like they grew up as step siblings...They were adults and met beforehand. But I digress...Loved this book!
I've been waiting for this ever since Tessa Bailey posted on her stories that book 3 will have a harp player *insert harp emoji* This book so lived up to the hype <33 I ran out of tabs in the middle and had to switch colors, I tabbed so much.
I have many many thoughts so I'm gonna try and group them --
💫 First off, I'm really enjoying this series of books by Tessa Bailey, where there are really unique professions (wrt the romance book world) and the plot gives a spotlight to the intricacies of these professions. I loved the golfing in book 1, the marine biology in book 2 and now harp!
💫 Okay secondly, THE ROMANCE !! Tessa Bailey has somehow pulled off a slow-burn with insta-love and I'm very much in awe 😭 I loved how they fell in love so fast, but then, continued to fall more and more in love over the next many months, before they finally decided to go for it 😭
💫 I don't wanna spoil anything, but the forbidden aspect of this romance was written and resolved so well. Think "Guilty as Sin" by Taylor Swift.
💫 There are some hilarious scenes with hockey and baseball players trash talk each other, I loved them! Do I sense a hockey + baseball romance next??
💫 Also 10/10 to the dog
-- ty to the author and the publisher for an advanced copy!
Bailey can do no wrong! I was on edge and rooting for the characters. The spice never fails and I hope everyone loves this one too
Tessa Bailey is one of my favorite authors so when this showed up Monday I could not believe it!! I had to pause my current read and jump right into this one!
If you're a fan of Tessa Bailey already then you already know her books are addicting and once you start you just can't put it down! Dream Girl Drama had all of the best tropes! I read it in two days and now I'm wishing I had taken my time so it wasn't over
If you are a fan of forbidden love, insta love, sports romance, and strong over protective MMC's then you're going to want to add this to your TBR!

Thank you netgalley and Avon books for this ARC!
I thought the chemistry between Chloe and Sig were off the charts in this one. I think the instalove aspect provided great tension between the two while they were resisting their attraction to each other. I think it also made me want to root for them more despite the fact that their parents were getting married. I loved that they remained close, with Sig being a safe space for Chloe while she becomes more independent. I also really liked the pacing of this, how the beginning was just moments between them that took place during the previous book that we didn't see. It actually took up a pretty big chunk of the book and I enjoyed how it gave an almost montage effect with a little more depth. Overall, a fun and interesting read.
Whew, I loved this book.
It starts out with what feels like a lightning bolt of attraction striking Sig and Chloe. I’m not always sold on instalove but the chemistry between these two is undeniable. From there it evolves into a slow burn of trying to resist each other once they know they’re destined to be step-siblings. Neither is very good at staying away from each other, so even as they don’t give into their basic urges, they are constantly together and the tension their closeness builds is delicious.
Sig is the epitome of a simp/man-obsessed/ultimate protector over Chloe and it’s hot. It’s especially hot because he’s all those things in way that encourages and supports Chloe trying new things, learning to be more independent, and break out of her comfort zone. He gives her a soft place to land while doing all of that. He never tries to take her choices away from her (except when it comes to other men — but she’s down just as bad as him and truly doesn’t want anyone else) or control her. He just wants to be the one taking care of her and giving her everything he can.
Chloe cares equally as deep as Sig and offers him the kind of support he’s never experienced from a loved one before. She roots for him, she looks out for him in her own way, and she appreciates him for who he is. He provides a lot of perspective in her life eventually as well, and the response she has to it is such a wonderful growth moment for her.
Maybe I read too much romance (is there such a thing?) because I didn’t really think the whole step-sibling thing should be *as* big of a deal as it’s made out to be, but with their positions in their respective societies, I found a bit more understanding for it.
I have thoughts about who will have books coming in this series, and let me just say, I can’t wait to see the rookies brought to their knees over some badass women.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the eARC and Avon for the print galley in exchange for an honest review.
This was just not for me. I felt the whole premise was just ridiculous, they are adults and the third act break up and solution was so goofy, I just could not get with the fantasy of this..
Another enjoyable entry. Something that was missing was Chloe's friendship with the other girls, though. I would have liked more scenes of her really growing and not just letting Sig take care of her. Also would have liked to see Sig with friends.
A very worthy successor to The Au Pair Affair. I really wasn't a fan of Fangirl Down, but I'm so glad I kept going with the series! The tension was so palpable between Chloe and Sig, and it was very rewarding when it all worked out in the end.
Love Tessa Bailey's books and especially this series but this one fell short for me. I loved that Chloe is strong on her own (a theme we see with the other 2 females in the Hot Shots series) but felt like it wasn't as prominent until the end. The helpless female trope being a little too heavy handed for my taste. Hope the series continues to flush out other minor characters - the Rookies would be great!
I think I'll just be comparing this series to Fangirl Down and each of them are coming up short thus far. Sig and Chloe fall in love extremely fast, but can't be together because they are about to be step siblings. I felt the pacing of the book was slightly off because of it and didn't really feel the tension between them. Also, while Sig is a professional hockey player, it barely seems to come up or affect his life in any way until he's ready to sign a new contract. Not my favorite.
Such a funny and spicy romance. I love Chloe and Sig! They are in a very tricky situation but they love each other so much. Their first meeting was straight magic and their developing friendship is just adorable. There’s constant sexual tension and boundary issues. I like how Chloe finally realizes that even Sig isn’t allowing her to be fully independent even though his intentions are pure. I laughed so much reading this book! I cannot wait for the orgasm donor twins’ stories. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC
Spicy, spicy, spicy! There was some drama, although it never quite made sense to me. Steps and whatever can do whatever. But, I read it through to the end. Love me some Sig and the guys on the team are just the best. I can't wait to read their stories too. It was super hot and I didn't put it down until I was done!
Oooooh, this was good! I admit, I had my reservations about a stepsibling romance, but I really enjoyed Chloe and Sig's story. I thought it was handled well as far as the plot and the HEA, even if it was feasibly the only way it could be handled well.
I love the Big Shots series and Dream Girl Drama fits in nicely with the other books. Burgess is still my favorite love interest, so far, but Sig is pretty great, too. I appreciated the way he let Chloe gain her footing in the "real world" but still offered a safety net.
I deeply liked that Chloe and Sig's relationship developed through events and experiences! I do not enjoy the "insta love" trope, but I guess it kind of happened here. It did feel more that we got to experience their relationship unfolding and growing than in other books and I think that was my favorite part of Dream Girl Drama.
I still don't love cheesy nicknames, but they're a given and my eyes just kind of skim over them at this point.
Overall, this was an excellent addition to the Big Shots series. Dream Girl Drama gets a 4/5 from me. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I'd like to start with the fact that I LOVE Tessa Bailey books. Absolutely adore them. This one wasn't my favorite though. It wasn't the step-sibling component, I think I just didn't connect with Chloe and Sig as much. I still enjoyed reading the book, but it felt like Chloe was made out to be completely incompetent at times, and Sig was a bit too intense at the same time as well.
It was still a solid 3 .5 stars for me, just wasn't up there with my top Tessa Bailey books.
