Told in alternating points of view, this book tells the story of four wives reconnecting on a vacation cruise with their spouses. However, things take a turn when one of the husbands end up dead.
I didn't particularly like any of the Wives, which made reading this book difficult - it's hard to empathize with any character when you can't emotionally connect to them. So many pages were dedicated to the drama between The Wives - it read like an episode of Real Housewives, which for me is not a positive comparison.
If you love drama with a touch of mystery, this one is for you.

Personally I found this book to be a slow burn, and I need a book to keep me hooked right from the beginning, the story line and plot was good, I just needed it to be more fast paced

Thank you netgalley for the arc in exchange e fair and honest review.
The Wives was my first Valerie Keough book. It won’t be my last! I loved the concept and the mystery. It was fairly quick read and kept me interested from the jump.
Definitely worth the read!

Twists and turns galore and an ending I didnt see coming. Another great story from this talented author.
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC

3.5*... A group of four British girlfriends, three married, one on the cusp...and lots of layers of mystery and intrigue. An African cruise could cause them all to draw close again, or it could flesh out the secrets bogging each of them down. A gathering of fairly unlikable characters, most intentional to the story, might cause you to wish for something bad to happen. You will not be let down.
I definitely did not expect the ending and the twists did not disappoint!
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC. All opinions are mine.

It a huge fan of the characters but enjoyed this book for the most part. I think some parts were a little dry but overall a decent read

Everyone has servers! I loved this twisty unpredictable thriller on an island. It was addictive and I could not put it down!

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I could not finish it. It just moved so slow and reminded me of so many other "thriller" books with the same storyline.

Im a huge fan of destination thrillers so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately it didnt hit the mark for me. It lacked the suspense factor.

Natasha is a Practice Nurse at the local hospital, and she used to love her job but now she seems to be rushed off her feet. She meets the dashing and charismatic Daniel, who also happens to be wealthy too. She has something positive in her life to look forward too. She is now 36 and the only single person in her group of friends, which consists of Barbara, Tracy-Ann and Michele and herself. Her relationship with Daniel is supposed to be a fling. But she gets a surprise when he asks her to marry her, and she agrees.
After the wedding Daniel asks Natasha to go on a cruise and tells her to bring her friends with their other halves too. She is delighted but when she tells her friends the news, the reaction is not what she expected. But they agree to support their friend. But whilst on the cruise, Natasha finds out what Daniel is really like. He is not the Charming charismatic person they are all led to believe.
This is a gripping story with lots of twists and is told in several POV’s of each friend having secrets that are linked to Daniel and someone who wants he dead. But why? Like her other books. I enjoyed this tale, and I wasn’t expecting the ending. 4 stars from me.

I found that I did not enjoy this book. The characters are very unlikeable. It was very easy to see the path the story was going to take. For a story of lifelong friends, they sure didn't show it very much with how easily they turned on each other. I probably won't be reading any more books by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for gifting me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Lies, secrets, deceit - The Wives has it all! When Natasha meets Daniel she knows her life is made. Rich, handsome and charming, he has it all and when he suggests an all-expenses paid cruise for Natasha, her friends, Barbara, Tracy Ann and Michelle, and their husbands, she can't wait to tell the girls, only they aren't as enthusiastic as Natasha would hope. And we soon fin out why - It turns out Daniel has in someway shape or form ruined each of the other couples lives in someway - unbeknownst to Natasha that is.
Now Daniel is a character that I foresaw dying in this book and I wasn't in the least bit sorry to him go, what I didn't foresee was each of the reason the other wives would have for wanting him dead! And they were good reasons, but who did it? And when all is revealed we are treated to a nice little twist at the end which was just brilliant!

This book is an attention grabber from the first page to the last! It’s quick, engaging and thrilling!
Four friends decide to go on a cruise, along with their husbands. All eight seem to get along, but it’s not long until the cracks between the wives begin to open. The main problem is that one wife has a new, handsome husband, and two of her friends appear to be smitten by him. As the plot continues, we discover exactly how this handsome man has deceived them all, including all the men and his own wife.
The book is exciting right up to the shocking ending!
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy, in return for my honest review.

I absouletly adored this book! I gave it the whole 5 stars. Once I got started I did not want to put down. I have not read many or any by this author however I will be adding her to my list. The whole storyline went nothing like I expected. It is a story about the wives but everyone should be paid attention to. I tried to guess some parts of the story but was completly taken by surprise! You will not regret buying this book!

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I always love a Valerie Keogh book and The Wives just may be my favourite book yet. A fast paced thriller that kept me hooked and guessing all the way through. Full of secrets and surprises this book has it all. A great story about friendships and relationships with a great mix of characters. Highly recommended. 5 stars

Told through multiple points of view, this thriller slowly unravels the story of four couples, including the newlyweds at the heart of the story. I enjoyed the four women's friendship, but found the ending not satisfying. That is the primary reason for the lower rating.
Thank you to net galley and bold wood books for the advanced read.

3.5 ⭐
I picked up The Wives by Valerie Keogh looking for more of a summery read while was on holiday, and it definitely delivered on that front. The setting of a luxury cruise ship is pure escapism, and the drama between the characters is juicy and fun *soap opera vibes*.
While the book is categorized as a thriller, it leans more towards a character-driven drama(?) / light mystery in my opinion.
Sometimes, with so many characters in stories I get confused, but I found the author did a good job of differentiating the women here.
Overall, The Wives is a good summery read that has some mystery to it without requiring you pay too much attention.

The Wives by Valerie Keogh is a book about four couples who go on a cruise together, courtesy of Natasha’s new husband, who is quite the successful business man. Natasha is surprised when her friends don’t seem thrilled to go on an all expenses paid for trip. We soon find out everyone has a secret and in the close quarters of the ship, they begin to be exposed. Told in multiple POV’s, we get to hear several sides to the story.
This was…mildly entertaining. It’s kind of exactly what you’d expect. A predictable storyline filled with cliches (which can be fine) but I was a little surprised at how much the protagonist Natasha was hyped up to be somewhat of a mastermind which she clearly was not. I would’ve enjoyed this book more if it didn’t attempt to be more clever than it was.
An easy book to get through and entertaining enough if your expectations are low. I would recommend reading it on a cruise for a bit of a fun palate cleanser. Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my ARC.

I love Valerie Keogh and her wonderful books. The Wives is no exception. Four female friends and their partners embark on a luxury cruise. One couple are recently married, and the charismatic husband has paid for everyone to join them. There are secrets behind every cabin door. It's a twisted story with a shocking unpredictable ending that will have you up late reading to find out what happens next.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Things change between a long-time group of friends when one of them marries a wealthy charmer.
