A friend group sets sail on a cruise with their partners… all of them are hiding secrets. Who will make it off the sailing tin can alive?
There were SO many interesting twists and turns in The Wives! I loved it. From seedy husbands to shady friends breaking girl code. It was filled with drama and suspense.
Highly recommend!
Good grief! A group of friends is nice to have, but not when each person has so many secrets! When one of the group dies on a cruise, it seems that those secrets may be revealed. This was an enjoyable and twisty whodunnit! Fans of thrillers will love this one!

This thriller is bursting with secrets and lies, reminding us of the complexities of friendship and ambition! I've yet to be disappointed by this author, so every time I spot her name, I can't help but pounce on whatever thriller she has coming up!
"The Wives" is intriguing from the start, but the jaw-dropping twists unfolding towards the end make it a must-read!
Natasha maintains a close bond with three college girlfriends, who change paths and prioritize family over career aspirations. While Natasha perseveres through her nursing career, her friends enjoy a life of comfort.
Then enters Daniel—a charming and successful businessman who sweeps Natasha off her feet with a whirlwind romance and proposal! Even though she's not sure he's the one, the taste of a luxurious lifestyle is too tempting.
While her friends initially welcome Daniel, his presence soon stirs up underlying tensions that result in a cruise trip intended to smooth things over. After reading "The Wives," you'll think twice about vacationing with friends!

On the surface four friends are cruising with their husbands. As the layers are peeled back the friends have kept secrets from each other. Most of them revolve around the newest husband, Daniel.
I thought Daniel was slime and Natasha just sort of drifted into the marriage.
I pinpointed two culprits for one of the deaths but never expected what would happen.
It’s a rolling wave of mystery, lies, and secrets. That’s why I read Keough’s books because she brings all of it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of The Wives by Valerie Keogh. This is my second book by this author. This one had plenty of twists and kept me intrigued. It was fast paced so a quick easy read. It's a book about best friends and the many ups and downs. So many secrets! It was wonderful to go on a cruise with these characters. I felt as though I was actually on the cruise ship as well. It was a real page turner. A 5 star rating from me.
I loved this story and right up to the end , I was on the edge of my seat! This was my kind of book with characters that you love to hate and nonstop action. There was so much going on and I loved every second of it. If you like a twisty thriller, this one is for you.
Many thanks to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #BoldwoodBooks for the book #TheWives by #ValerieKeogh. Natasha has found her money ticket with her new husband, Daniel. As four couples, Natasha and Daniel and there is her best friends and their husbands embark on a cruise, paid for by Daniel, tensions are super high. It seems that her friends all have reasons for wanting to kill he’s husband. So many secrets…..
Loved this book it was so fast paced and I couldn’t put it down, I loved all the different characters and there perspective on things. Great psychological thriller
Great book would recommend
Such a great book! It was very fast paced and exciting. I loved the different perspectives of each character, I will definitely be reading another book from this author.
Valerie Keogh is one of the exceptional authors that can take your average and "normal " everyday person into a devilishly wicked character and in The Wives there are several!
When Natasha meets her very wealthy and extremely handsome husband Daniel, she dreams of how her life can now be, instead of living in a small flat and working in a very stressful job within the NHS.
But when Natasha introduces him to her best friends and their husbands all is not well and cracks start to appear in her relationship with her friends.
Daniel has the perfect solution and invites everyone on an all inclusive paid cruise.
Once aboard tempers start to fray and you will find that Daniel isn't all he seems.
There are lies and secrets that everyone wants to keep hidden but which one has a secret so big that they will kill for?
Another nail-biting and twisted thriller that you can't put down.
Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Valerie Keogh for providing this ARC in exchange of my honest review.

I generally love a good murder mystery, and while I didn’t see the ending coming... the middle and conclusion didn’t quite hold my attention. I was invested at the start, but as the story progressed, it started to feel like a bit of a chore to get through. There were too many characters to keep track of, and I found myself struggling to remember who was who. I also wasn’t a fan of some of the British slang (like ‘tenner’). Additionally, I would’ve liked to see more development of Daniel and Natasha’s relationship from the beginning. It all fell flat to me.
The Wives was a gripping read with so many twists. I’m still shocked at the ending.
thank you netgalley and publisher. All thoughts are my own and isnt influenced by anyone else
The Wives by Valerie Keogh, when the book starts we meet Natasha she is a nurse at a London hospital and lives paycheck to paycheck so when she meets rich gorgeous Daniel she couldn’t be happier. Even though he doesn’t say he loves her he does tell her they are perfect together and she soon moves and after a prenup they get married. At Daniel‘s insistence she quits her job so she could be on hand whenever he needs her to attend a dinner or event and also because they’re planning on starting a family. One day Daniel surprises her and tells her he has paid for her and her three best friends and their husbands to go on a cruise when she calls to tell her friends about the trip, only one of them is excited but only because she hadn’t yet mentioned that Danny was going as well. The first night on the cruise The guys go to the casino and while the ladies are alone Tracy Anne makes a confession and changes everything for Natasha And causes her to look at her friends and especially her husband differently. What Natasha doesn’t know however is that Tracy Ann isn’t the only one who knows things about Daniel that she does not. The ship stops so they can explore Pemba Island, when they return to the ship they have two days before heading back home but not all eight of them are going to make it. All these confessions and murders and yet the true reckoning has yet to happen. If Natasha thinks she’s heard shocking accusations in life altering insults she’ll learn she hasn’t heard anything yet. I want to say I don’t know how many pages this book is but I found it a fast read IDK if that was because it was so good or because the book was shorter than most thrillers but OMG this is a great read and one I definitely recommend. I have read those authors books before in this book is a great example of why… So awesome! #NetGalley, #BoldwoodBooks, #ValérieKeogh, #TheWives,
It was an OK read. I'm not a fan.of cruises so for me personally, I didn't like the setting. The female characters were a bit unbelievable. That they were all duped so easily was not a fun read for me and I didn't like the twists
The Wives was a gripping read with so many twists! I honestly didn’t know what to expect at the start of the book, and I’m still shocked at the ending. The setting of the book being on a cruise adds to the plot of being trapped around the betrayal of people you are supposed to be close to.
The book focuses on Natasha and Daniel who have booked a cruise trip with 3 other couples, what could go wrong? Only the fact that Daniel has terrible secrets and each of the wives wants him dead. The themes revolve around betrayal, secrets, murder and vacation, but what made the book unique is the setting and all the POVs. The book is told from the perspective of quite a few characters of the book which was exciting, although some didn’t add too much to the storyline.
I thought this book was written really well, especially with all the twists and characters to keep up with. I found the first half of the book to be a slow burn but the second half was thrilling and I couldn’t put the book down! It was an easy book to read with the short chapters and the captivating plot. I always know this authors books are going to be a good read! I highly recommend this book to all thriller and mystery lovers. Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources for sending me a copy of this book.

Synopsis:
Natasha seems to have it all - a caring, handsome, wealthy, husband, a core group of couple friends, and she no longer has to work as a nurse in a very stressful situation. Daniel, her new husband, has even proposed an all-expenses paid cruise to the Zanzibar archipelago including their 3 closest couples. Strangely, the wives (Michele, Barbara, and Tracy Ann) don't seem all that excited to come on this free vacation with them. It's almost as if there is something about Daniel that is making each of them very uncomfortable...
Opinion:
I flew through this fast-paced, short-chaptered thriller in one sitting! I loved the multiple POVs of the wives and how little by little it became clear just what it was about Daniel that each of them hated. I also loved the cruise ship setting and the additional aspect of the husbands in the story. The old phrase, 'keep your friends close and enemies closer' was very key to this book! Great quick read and though I did guess some of the reasons for what occurred (no spoilers!), there was definitely one part I did not figure out!
Wow wow and wow this was another brilliant read from one of my favourite authors their books just keep getting better and better. I know once I start reading a book by this author that I won’t get anything else done as won’t be able to put it down and this one was no exception.
An engaging page turning read with fabulous can caters and storyline that would make a brilliant summer holiday beach read. I also think this authors books need to be dramatised for tv.
Can’t wait to see what they write next
A fast-paced, suspense-filled thriller that keeps readers hooked from the very first page. The novel centers around Natasha, a woman who believes she's found the perfect life with her rich, charming husband, Daniel. But as they embark on a luxury cruise with their closest friends and spouses, Natasha quickly discovers that her seemingly ideal life may be built on dangerous lies, and the cruise will turn into a deadly game of secrets and betrayal.
I’ve always enjoyed Valerie’s book but unfortunately this book did not remotely feel like her work.
Obviously this is my opinion and I know people have enjoyed it but, I think it was repetitive. I feel like is was a rushed job of a starting out independent author.
I’m giving two stars because I usually enjoy Valerie’s work.
I really enjoyed this book wasn't what I was expecting at all . Was a good read well worth it. A good holiday read .
