This is such a fun activity book! If you’re looking for a challenge to keep your mind fresh, this is a fantastic option. It features a variety of puzzles, from acrostics and sudoku to crosswords and codes. Each chapter is grouped by topic, like History or Arts and Literature. I felt I even learned a few new trivia facts by working through the puzzles. The book has a great, clean layout that is easy to read. Highly recommended!
Thanks for the free book, @penguinrandomhouse
A great book for anyone looking for a variety of puzzles. The introduction lays out the various types of puzzles and how to solve them. Then follows several themed chapters with a mixture of puzzles in each section. I would say these puzzles are of medium difficulty.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #Zeitgeist for a free copy of #TheUltimateFunAdultActivityBook by Julie Demyanovich. All opinions are my own.
A variety of puzzles, perfect for traveling and puzzle hobbyists. I enjoyed that the pages switch it up to keep it fresh. The instructions are clear. I also think it's a great activity book for those who are actively trying to limit screen time. (A replacement for cell phone puzzle games that have ads, for example.) The themed chapters add a nice element of atmosphere.
Thank you for this advance copy Netgalley. I really appreciated this book, I felt like I could take it on a trip and stay engaged in it and pass the time. It has something for everyone and I will be following the author for more books and recommending to a friend
I think this book serves as a wonderful way to stretch the mind and challenge ones critical thinking! I really enjoyed the wide variety of puzzles and challenges. The themed chapters make for a great way to organize the puzzles. I plan to purchase this book as a gift for several people I know who will appreciate the fun activities as much as I did!
This book is great for puzzlers. If you play WORDLE, Connections, or crosswords daily, this book is for you. An offline way to get in more puzzling. And it’s FUN!
There are instructions on how to play each type of puzzle such as logic grids or word pyramids, but the book is organized by themes not by puzzle type making it all the more fun! Themes include History, Arts & Literature, Movies, Nature and Food.
I enjoy doing the puzzles myself but would make a great gift idea for any teen or adult who likes to do puzzles and is trying to spend less time online.
Note: Will post this review to Amazon on November 26th
I think books like the ultimate fun adult activity book by Julie demyanovich should be more commonplace, adults should be allowed to experience the simple joy of doing a crossword or finishing a coloring page in a more mature manner, which is what this wonderful book gives us. Bravo!
This activity book has a little bit of everything. It has a wide range of puzzles and mazes to solve. And if you need a bit of a brain break, it has coloring pages to get your creativity flowing.
A look at this book’s cover tells readers exactly what they will find inside. Anyone who enjoys puzzle solving will, I think, enjoy this title. It offers a chance to leave the day behind and concentrate on completing some fun tasks.
Some pluses for solvers include that this book is over 150 pages long and that the puzzles are grouped by category. For example, there are sections entitled Get Historical, Arts & Literature, Whodunnit and more. In addition, there are clear directions at the front of the book for each puzzle type.
I think that I will buy the hard copy of this one.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for this title. All opinions are my own.
This is such a great activity book. I loved the variety of activities it had in it, there is something for everyone in it. I like the chapter themes and the variation. I would buy this for myself and my friends. It is easy to pick up the puzzles and they range in challenge level. I like that I can go from a word search to sudoku to a cryptogram. Highly recommend you pick it up!
INCREDIBLE adult activity book~ Thrilled to dig in and use this while traveling. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.
Love the puzzles and the variety. There are a few most common ones like crosswords and suduko but also different fun types like word pyramids , logical puzzles and word equations. Great timepass.
A great book for those who enjoy mind teasers. Keeps you engaged and not bored with different challenges throughout the book.
This is such a great book!
I am a puzzles girly, and this book is perfect! Not only are there multiple kinds of puzzles, but they are themed AND grouped by theme. Literally hours of fun to be had!
This would be an incredible gift for yourself or any other puzzler in your life!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advance copy!
There are puzzles for most everyone - math related, spot the differences, word puzzle. They're broken out into different chapters with a variety of topics, though I will say that I didn't always understand how the puzzles fit into the topic (e.g., in Get Historical, there was a magic square which doesn't really have anything specifically historical... though maybe that's just to fit one in?). Either way, I think it will be an enjoyable book for puzzle lovers!
I think this book was made for me! Coloring, word searches, logical puzzles, crosswords! It is like a dream book for those that love words and coloring! I will most definitely be purchasing this one for person use. Fantastic collection!!

I know this is for adults but this is going to be awesome to have in the classroom for my middle school students who finish their work early and have "nothing" to do. There's a good mix of activities that kids can tackle - word searches, mazes, spot the difference, coloring pages, crossword, and equation based tasks.
I'd definitely do a good chunk of these too. The few puzzles I've tried are not too easy where it gets boring, there's a good challenge to them that gets you to think. Would absolutely make great stocking stuffers this holiday season!
Never be bored again! I couldn't put this book down. It has become an essential part of my bag. I throw it in with my favorite pen, keeping me happy and entertained for hours. I love it. I'm so glad someone finally made a book like this for adults!
I would love to have a book like this for a plane ride or killing time in a waiting room. While it really doesn't translate to Kindle format, I was easily able to flip through and get the idea of what is included. I like that there is a variety so you don't get sick of the same type of puzzle on repeat, and thought it was nice that they were broken up into themed sections. Would totally buy if I saw this at a magazine stand at the airport!
A decent puzzle book, with a selection of tasks that is not the widest, but has enough variety and depth to keep one going for some time without boredom kicking in. What's more, the chapters are themed – the first is the past, so explorers, famous artists, presidents, and so on. Luckily the sudoku just turn up without trying to be shoehorned into a specific topic, as that would look stupid, but the code-breaking takes us back to Socrates, the other word puzzles relate to ye olde timey, and that kind of thing. Then it's arts and books, detective stories, cinema – all rightly edifying subjects. There are things here I'd not thank you for – colouring-in, for one – but the mazes look complex, the code-breaking isn't made too easy, and it's nice to see the magic number puzzles go into negative numbers. That said, the sudoku are pathetic – one I saw had just 24 squares to fill in, or 2.6 per 3x3 box – and that is some cockamamie way to number a crossword. I can't pretend this bests what a half-decent magazine stand will have on offer, but this is a fair effort – three and a half stars.
Oh, and yes, the title IS incredibly misleading – it certainly took me elsewhere, too.
