Molly Yeh is back, and this time, she’s bringing a sugar rush straight from her North Dakota farm to your kitchen! Sweet Farm! is packed with over 100 delightful dessert recipes that are as fun and quirky as Molly herself. From nostalgic childhood favorites to Midwestern-inspired treats with a twist, this book has something for every sweet tooth.
Living on a sugar beet farm, Molly speaks fluent sugar—and it shows in her creations. Think Chewy Frosted Tahini Cookies, Rhubarb Rose Bars, and Black Sesame Babka. Feeling fancy? Try the Saffron and Cardamom Tiramisu. Need a quick fix? The 5-minute treats have you covered. And yes, there’s even a recipe for Marzipan Soda (because why not?).
But this isn’t just a cookbook; it’s a slice of Molly’s life—muddy boots, family stories, and all. Between the recipes and her charming anecdotes, you’ll feel like you’re right there with her, baking up a storm on the farm.
Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just here for the sprinkle cake, Sweet Farm! is a warm, sugary hug in book form. Get ready to bake, snack, and maybe scarf down an entire tray in one sitting (no judgment). 🍪💕
I have been a huge fan of Molly ever since I made her recipe and watched her on Food Network. She's so down to earth, endearing, her recipes are fun and easy. What's not to love?
I love all of her cookbooks, but Sweet Farm! is all about sweets and I couldn't love this any more than I already love Molly. The book has so many fun stories that are weaved well into recipes that will make you smile, each recipe has a beautiful photo, every recipe has a gram and a cup measurement, and there are so many unique recipes (but don't be intimidated!) that will want to make you jump in the kitchen and start baking! Another thing about this book is you can hear it all in her voice while you read and I just enjoy reading this book so much while trying out new recipes. And, her recipes are easy to follow and will not disappoint you!
You will be thoroughly entertained while reading and baking through this book. Molly is a great cook and baker, and a great storyteller. Sweet Farm! will be definitely one book I'll buy to gift to my family and friends, not to mention myself! I highly recommend this book!
I have been a big fan of Molly since the early years of her blog, My Name is Yeh. Several of her blog, book, and Food Network recipes are in regular rotation at my house. This was easily one of my most anticipated 2025 releases.
I appreciated that the writing in this book was more reminiscent of the dry, dark humor, that’s showcased on her blog and in her first book, Molly on the Range. That’s what really drew me in many years ago, on top of unique and reliable recipes. This is by no means a dig at Home is Where the Eggs Are, a book I also love. The tone of Eggs lined up a little more with her hit Food Network show, whereas this falls somewhere inbetween Range and Eggs.
Molly’s enthusiasm for baking and sweets is contagious. It really made me eager to try many of these recipes. So far I have made the Pistachio Sandwich Cookies, which were a huge hit. Molly perfectly describes them as a Nutter Butter, but with pistachios. They hardened a lot in the fridge, so in the future, I might bake a minute or two less.
Next on my list are: Chocolate Tahini Fudge Cake with Tahini Whip and Halva, Macadamia Pudding Pops, Miso Toffee Crackers, and Soft Almond Sugar Cookie Bars.
I also learned a lot of interesting tidbits from this book, such as the fact that sometimes cane sugar is processed using bone char from animal bones, whereas beer sugar is guaranteed to be vegan. Typically the intros to cookbooks with pantry and equipment lists can be a little mundane, but I recommend reading this one for neat insights like that.
Something I want to note is that I’d estimate at least half to two thirds of these recipes contain cream cheese - it’s mostly for acidity and texture. So if you’re allergic to cream cheese, this book might not be for you.
One final thing to point out is the glaring issue in the headnote of her Sprinkle Cake 2.0 recipe. While correct about the second Mighty Ducks film being superior to its predecessor, the original Back to the Future reigns supreme. (And I have no idea about Pitch Perfect lol.)
Okay, one more thing, (as if I haven’t already yapped enough) Molly mentioned on Instagram that the design for this book was inspired by Harvey Potter’s Balloon Farm. I loved this blast from the past! That book was one of my very favorites growing up.
Many thanks to the publisher for providing my review copy via NetGalley.
Fantastic book. I love watching Molly Yeh on tv and love the book. The recipes sound scrumptious. The photos are beautiful and artfully done.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Some fun recipes from Molly Yeh, though I can't always find the ingredients she talks about.
This s a perfectly lovely cookbook. The origin story of the author and her home which serves as the introduction is very interesting. Molly Yeh brilliantly believes cookies should be comically large so that you can easily experience texture and taste. Recipes are innovative, whimsical, creative, and sometimes introduced by way of personal stories and or specific information on the main ingredient.
I am not a baker but i am inspired to try many recipes in this book.
I admit it. I like to read cookbooks as much as I like to use them to cook and bake.
Here are a few of my favorite features of this cookbook.
1. There are fun stories for each recipe.
2. There are great descriptions like this one. "It’s as if Entemann’s Little Bites grew up, studied abroad in France, and came back with a slammin’ texture and epic stories to tell" (page 215).
3. She tells you when you can or shouldn't substitute an ingredient...when a certain type will give you a legitimately better result. I appreciated that.
4. The recipes show measurements in both cups and grams.
5. There's a picture for every recipe. This helps when there are a lot of unfamiliar terms in the names like "Furikake" or "Halva."
6. There are a lot of unusual or unique recipes in this book. Who knew you could make a delicious velvety cake out of mashed potatoes or fudge with velveeta cheese?
The only drawback (in my opinion) in actually making some of these recipes is that a lot of them seem pretty involved with a lot of ingredients or a lot of steps. I'm willing to try one of those once in a while but they don't tend to be my go to recipes. That's where the descriptions Yeh includes are so helpful.
Thank you to William Morrow for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

By the time I had read the first few recipes, I knew this was a book I wanted to purchase and keep in my kitchen. Molly has such a down to earth charm on top of having gorgeous recipes. This book featured a handful of ingredients I've never baked with before, and wouldn't have thought to use, but Molly makes them seem like must-try desserts.
Everything about this book was lovely. Every photo had me gasping and going 'wow, I need to make that.' My house smells like coffee cake as I type this, and it's just the first of many of these recipes I plan on making. (The lavender lemon loaf is next up. Or the orange chocolate pistachio scone muffins. I can't pick yet.) The entire design of the book is really beautiful and bright and enjoyable to flip through.
I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone with any level of skill or experience.
This was my frist introduction to Molly Yeh and I loved loved loved this!! Molly Yeh is so so good at giving directions even for the most intricate recipes. I've already made several items (any nut butter bars, rosemary potato loaf and peanut butter cake) but my most favorite has been the smores bars! they were incredible, kept well in the fridge and were easy to put together. I can't wait to make more recipes from her.
Super cute book with really unique recipes. I like that all the recipes are things that you do not normally see in cookbooks. I can't wait to try some of these with my kids!
I love Molly Yeh! Her show is so fun and personable and you can hear that in her voice throughout this cook book. And I am honestly learning so much from reading this that I feel like I can bake anything!
The history and back story at the top of every recipe is my favorite part and hearing how she developed what we get to make is so fun.
And learning about harvesting is incredibly cool and really makes you see how small farms can change the world and how we eat.
I would highly recommend this to anyone, whether you are a beginner baker or experienced, you will learn how and the pictures help so much as well. Love love love. Can't wait to buy a copy!
I lucked out by being selected for an arc copy of this book! I love watching Molly on the Food Network channel. All of her recipes look so tasty. Thought I haven't had the chance to make anything from this book yet, I've jotted down some recipes I'd like to make in the near future. I'll probably end up buying the book anyhow.
So many fun recipes with bright photos! Love it all.
This book is loaded with fun and unique dessert recipes. I was bookmarking so many pages to come back to. Most have approachable ingredients that already live in my pantry, some have a few things I'd have to source (e.g. Halva). The imagery is beautiful, the storytelling is lovely, I really enjoyed this cookbook. It'd make a great gift for the baker in your life.
When I saw this book I immediately knew that I had to have it I absolutely love Molly Yeh I've watched her for a couple years now on the food that work and she is one of my favorites I think she is so sweet and her food always looks so delicious and through this cookbook I have found some really amazing recipes some really interesting recipes I feel like this is an all inclusive cookbook where there's literally something for every single person I also tried a couple of the different recipes and they were all super delicious super easy to make the directions for them all were super easy to follow I definitely recommend this book
I am so grateful to have been chosen to preview this cookbook before it’s officially released to the world next March. This makes me excited to get back in the kitchen and whip up some sweet treats. I loved learning more about Molly and her husband’s families’ background and their life on a sugar beet farm. I will refer to this book often when I need dessert inspiration!
I have read Molly's other cookbooks including "Short Stack: Yogurt" so I was happy to be approved for the advanced reader copy of Sweet Farm! I enjoy learning more about Molly's live living on the sugar beet farm in Minnesota. If you are a fan of Molly's easy recipes with interesting ingredients you will love this cookbook.
Sweet Farm includes 100+ recipes for cookies, bars, salads, desserts for breakfast, cakes, pies, frozen and no bake, and drinks. The cookbook begins with an introduction and ingredients and tools to have. Next are the recipes. Every recipe has an introduction, ingredient list, and directions. The directions are written in paragraph format, which is a bit more difficult to follow than numbered directions. However, the recipes do include a photo, which I appreciate. That said, it would be useful if the recipes listed the prep and bake times at the start so you can easily see how long the recipe takes without having to read through all the directions. As far as the difficulty level of the cookbook, many of the directions are a page long, so I recommend the cookbook for those confident with baking in the kitchen and are looking for new baked goods to try.
I have borrowed and read most of Molly Yeh's cookbooks so far, and I have made and tried a lot of her recipes from those books, from Food Network Magazine, and from her social media posts. Although the odd recipe calls for something I don't have handy, for the most part, the ingredients are staples in my pantry (or easy to source and useable for more than one recipe) and her recipes are really easy to follow with enough detail for someone who isn't an experienced cook or baker. My favourite biscotti recipe is one of hers and I always get complements on it.
When I saw that she had a book that was all about the sweet stuff - the baking stuff - I was ready to dive in and test it out. I found so many great recipes and some that I have already tried for other Yeh sources. Everything turned out great that I tried, and there were no complaints from my family as I was taste testing and recipe testing this book.
The anecdotes about Yeh and her family and her husband's farm that are interspersed sound and feel like watching Yeh on her Food Network show; and her instructions for each recipe are also told in that conversational way.
If you are looking for some easy to follow recipes that turn out well, this is a great baking book to add to your recipe book collection. Sure, you may have to go find a few ingredients, but only if you really want to make that recipe. There are enough recipes that use what you likely have on hand that you can tuck in right away and get baking.
The cutest book for any sweet and delicious treat! I think the recipes are perfect for any girls night-in with your besties, or for any occasion where sweets are welcomed! The photos included in the book were also equally sweet and fun to see! I loved the overall character of the book and all the tips and details added! I am so excited to bake every recipe in the book!

As a long time follower and fan of Molly Yeh, I was incredibly excited to get a first look at Sweet Farm!
I’m intrigued by stories of immigration to America and really enjoyed learning about Nick, Molly‘s husband‘s, ancestors history and how they began farming sugar beets, and would later pass the farm down through many generations. I’m also most embarrassed to say that I knew nothing about sugar beets, and certainly did not know how much of America’s sugar is a derivative of sugar beets.
Also at the beginning of the book, Molly has a large section about ingredients which I found absolutely eye opening. I love that she gave store-bought generic versions when applicable and explained when it was best to splurge. I even learned a thing or two about butter - namely, went to use salted butter (something that has perplexed me for far too long).
I really do not need to drone on about how my stomach was growling while reading through Molly’s delectable recipes - but oh my. I’m not sure where to begin, but I will certainly be making a cookie or two or three this weekend. The Miso Toffee Crackers look exactly like my grandmothers Chocolate Toffee Matza, and I also have a freezer full of Grandmas Mandel Bread that I may just have to enjoy as cereal.
♥︎ Many thanks to NetGalley, William Morrow Cookbooks and Molly Yeh for the ARC of Sweet Farm!
