I love a taming of the shrew story and this one had me hooked with a spoiled heiress and uncouth gardener. I enjoyed their banter, chemistry, undeniable desire and a true love that is everything. Arabella shines in a family environment and loved her and the kids and Lawrence falls irrevocably in love with his new family but there's lots to get through in the end like a big lie. It's a match that was always meant to be.

Arabella Ponsford may be a Lady, but she's not a very nice one. Forced to live with the cruelty of her aunt and the Duke of Dunton, she lashes out because of her unhappiness. Marriage to the Duke makes for a dim future. Her attraction to Lawrence Baxter, the gardner, is confusing and she displays her displeasure by destroying his possessions. After an accident, she loses her memory and Lawrence takes advantage to exact revenge by claiming she is his lost wife and the mother of his children. This book flows at an uneven pace with characters I didn't particularly like, until later in the book. Fortunately, it ends with a happy ending. Descriptive sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.

Being as she is meant to be. Ignore servants and put them in their place. Everyone beneath her is a peasant and not worth her time. Rude, selfish, and hated by those she meets. Yet she yearns to be different.
This book seemed to me to be a ‘remake’ of the movie overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. I must say it is an absolute wonderful rendition of this movie. I wasn’t sure how it would go and was skeptical. But I REALLY enjoyed the book.

It was a little too steamy for me but I liked the storyline. The children were adorable. The villains were awful with no way to be redeemed. The heroine was trained to act superior and did it very well. Then her true self came to the forefront. The hero was nice until he tried to seek revenge only for him to realize he didn’t want that but he wanted love. How they get together, then separated, and then together again is what made the story. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Power, Revenge, True Love
A gut wrenching beginning to this extraordinary far-fetched love story that deals with different stations in life.
I loved the very beginning of this complex romance story but then I soon found myself turned off by Arabella the harpy, and Lawrence the deceiver doubting if I should continue to read on or not? I am so glad I made the decision to stick with it. From that point on I was totally engrossed with this emotionally passionate love story between Bella and Lawrence. The kids were lots of fun and added to the many heartfelt situations.
Some of the side characters were delightful and added a great deal to the story especially the terrifying ending.
This is an entangled improbable story of many pages that was masterfully written. I could not possibly figure out how the author was going to bring this story to a happy ending. It actually turned out to be a perfect romance story that made my heart feel good.
💖I wound up loving both Bella and Lawrence.

This was a historical romance written remake of the 1980's Overboard, Lady Arabella is a conceited, angry, and spiteful daughter of a Duke. Lawrence Baxter is the gardener who has been shamed and insulted by Lady Arabella, and after an accident takes away her memory, right after she has fired him, he finds her and takes her home to take revenge from her. He tells her she is his wife and the mother to his kids and makes her do all the household chores.
Over time they fall in love and Lawrence starts realizing how badly he has behaved and how Bella Baxter's memory coming back will change everything for the worse. As not only he, but his entire family has fallen in love with her.
It was a fine easy read with characters that were actually miserable. I did not like either of the MCs so it was hard to empathetise with them.
Would I recommend this? Yes, especially if you are fans of amnesia romances.
