I really enjoyed this one! The chapters take place in the present and in the past- back to the night where the main character’s life changed forever. This book kept me guessing in how it was going to end and kept ne interested from start to finish!

I received an ARC from Brilliance Audio via NetGalley. As this was my first audiobook received on NetGalley I was very pleased. Mike Omer has become an instant read for me. I loved both the Zoey Bentley series and Abby Mullen series. While this is not related, it was another mystery. Ity's yet another female main character, however instead of a professional forensic psychologist or a hostage negotiator Gemma is a mom who escaped a traumatic high school experience. However, Gemma's past has come back to attack her and her family head on.

While I didn't find the characters in this book as engaging as his other books, I found the story and ending satisfying. Another good read for Omer fans, but I would start with his older stuff if you are new to the author.

I loved this book. It is twisty and kept me guessing throughout. It’s about a teenager that is the town’s pariah after another girl is murdered. She escapes town to build a new life.
Many years later, she is happy, with a family and different identity.
But, strange things begin happening - someone has found her.

Behind You by Mike Omer is a well done, fast paced thriller.
The narrator Carly Robins did an outstanding job bringing this character to life.
There is a build of suspense with a strong development of characters.
The atmosphere keeps the readers on the edge of their seat and always wondering what is going to happen next.

Thank You NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Seventeen-year-old Theodora Briggs left home in the dead of night, after a brutal crime shattered her life. Thirteen years later, she’s made a name for herself as Gemma: beautician, wife, and mother. But the trauma still lingers…

I have been a fan of Mike Omer's books since reading 'A Spider's Web' so many years ago. This newest novel isn't part of a series, but a standalone that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am a huge fan of audio books. When I had the option of listening to the book, I grabbed it. As I started listening to this story, I wasn't sure about this book. I didn't know if I liked Gemma, or where exactly it was going. That doubt didn't last long. The more I listened, the more intrigued I became. At times Gemma seemed to be a bit of an airhead, but you don't survive on your own at 17 and create a new life for yourself unless you have more brains than you show.

Gemma (Theodora) doesn't want to lose the life she has created with her husband and child, and is fiercely determined to find out who is stalking her and disrupting her life. Trying to remember exactly what happened during a brutal crime that turned her life upside down so many years ago has been a challenge. Old friends, family, and enemies abound as the drama moves forward. Strange encounters and attacks put fear in her heart for her family. Every time I came to a place I thought would be a good stopping point, the story twisted in another direction. My theories went out the window. My advice to anyone reading or listening to this book is simple. Don't try to figure out the who and why. Just read or listen and enjoy the experience. For me, many hours of listening told an interesting story with a satisfying ending.

I always listen to books while I walk, and I must say, I walked a lot more miles while listening to this one. I prompted myself to go one more mile just to see what happened next. Excellent entertainment and exercise, a win win for sure.

Behind You is a terrific thriller that started out intriguing with just the right amount of confusion and finished with an excellent conclusion.

At age seventeen Theodora ran away from home. Her friend was murdered and she is the main suspect. Her memory of the night is hazy and even she thinks she may have done it. Thirteen years later Theodora now goes by Gemma and has started a new life. She is a wife and a mother and has tried hard to put her old life behind her.

Random people and even people close to her start to call her by her old name and also start to mention events from her old life. It was confusing but in the best way. At one point her son even tells her a story about her past. I was asking so many questions but I couldn’t put it down. I had to find out how her secret got out.

There were a lot of twists and turns and each one was better than the next. This was my first book by Omer but I will definitely check out another one. This book was well written and an excellent thrill ride I can’t recommend it enough.

This book was so crazy in the best way ! 🤩 I felt like the storyline was unique and interesting. The characters kept me guessing who the bad guy was. I got so many spooky vibes from this and I think it’s the perfect thriller for spooky season. This would be so scary if this actually happened. 😳

I absolutely love Carly Robins, but I think the story just didn't work for me. I got over halfway but it seemed to drag on, nothing was really happening. It wasn't keeping me hooked.
