I don't read much poetry anymore. That said, much of this book gripped my attention in spurts of worship and curiosity.

I found myself praying, reflecting, and nodding at times. Kieffer offers meditations and observations on spiritual life and formation.

So, if you have a hard time noticing the world and the Presence of the Creator, you will find breathing space here.

5 stars in my opinion, although I am not a poetry oficiando. I just enjoyed being in the spaces these words created in my imagination. There are many different ideas to think about in this collection. God, our story with him, our hurts and our joys, and life’s bumps and celebrations. Some of the poems made me smile, some seemed to give a little insight into the authors life experience. There are some poetry collections that I have zoomed through, but with this book I took my time and felt better each time I closed the cover. Thank you to Wendy Keifer and NetGalley for the ARC. In the same way that an atheist can enjoy Rumi’s poems without adopting his faith, Alchemy of praise is a powerful ode to God and Jesus which transcends the boundaries of religion. Its poems are a comfort one surely needs in knowing that one is not alone through life, through every step of the way. Wendy Kieffer shows there is so much beauty in the world - as in her words - so much to appreciate in ways we ended up forgetting.
Her words sing, pull, and uplift the reader to a state of adulation towards poetry and the living.

This was such a beautiful collection.of poetry. Each poem told a story and drew you in to really feel it. I highly recommend this book. I'd even give it a second read.
