Why? Why does the female lead ALWAYS have to deal with infidelity in her marriage? That part alone told me this book wouldn't be for me. I know it's a second-chance romance, and I wish I could have finished it, but for my mental health, I'm going to pass. The premise of the story is why I gave it 3 ☆.

Thank you, Netgellay, and Black Odyssey Media for the ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This was a good book! The storyline was interesting and the characters were well written but I was not a huge fan of the romance.
I am one that believes in the second chance at love stories. This was a great second chance at love story. I have several of this authors books on my TBR list; after reading this one, I can not wait to get started on them. Anna Black's writing style in this book wasn't over complicated, and did not drag the story out.
This just wasn’t it. The story was repetitive and dragged. The timeline was all over the place and it didn’t always add up. The description of this book is off. This was not a cute 2nd chance romance, so feel a bit cheated.
When I read the premise for this book it sounded interesting but it didn't quite deliver the way I hoped it would. While we did get an HEA with the main characters by the end, I felt it didn't really flow that well. In the beginning of the book I felt like I could have used more of a timeline between when Zamora left to pursue her culinary degree to when Marcus hears about them again, like he said it had been ten years but it was a super long time jump and the fact that we didn't know what happened with her over those past 10 years at the point it felt a little out of place.
We do find out what happened with Zamora and her life during that 10 year period where she had been away from Marcus but it was a little disjointed and I felt if the order in which things were written was different it would have flowed a little better for me. The fact that Marcus supposedly moved on but was so easily swayed once Zamora returned it was a little too easy too and I thought he should have broken things off with Eliana at that point knowing how he truly felt for Zamora.
Of course I wanted Zamora and Marcus to get their second chance so when we find out Eliana's true motives and Marcus breaks up with her I was happy about that but his mother's involvement came out of left field as it wasn't mentioned anyway else in the story so it made it a little less believable. Once Zamora and Marcus finally do get back together the story seemed to move super fast and some details that I would have liked to see more of were kind of glossed over. and Eliana's reappearance at the end served no purpose. When i got to the epilogue I felt like that could have been broken up into another chapter and everything seemed to be just thrown together and a but rushed like the author was just ready to finish writing the book.
Overall it was an okay story but I think if the author took different writing liberties it could have made it better in my opinion. Thank you to NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Every red flag was ignored by both MC’s to the point where they both deserved to get played by their significant others. It was hard to connect to the characters because I felt they had no depth. There was just too many side story lines that brought absolutely no value to the book.
Thank you Black Odyssey Media for this Advance Readers Copy ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This book blurb promised “A second-chance love connection for book romantics,” and while it kind of delivered, I had to overlook about 90% of the actual story. The narrative was filled with messy drama that overshadowed the romantic plot, and the ending didn’t satisfy enough to make up for the meandering journey. I was left disappointed.
I am also including a content warning for sexual violence in this review.

I may have misunderstood the blurb. Going in, I was under the impression that Marcus and Zamora reconnected and reignited their spark on the day of their delayed flight recollecting the past "together" and talking things through all on the same day.
That is not how it went down. Although classified as romance, I honestly didn't feel much of the romance or chemistry, some yearning and regret.
There were some flashback scenes. But most of the book was about how Zamora gets out of a marriage with a cheating spouse and Marcus realizes he's still hooked on the thought of Zamora, but he's recently engaged to Eliana. We are given Marcus' and Zamora's POV's and suddenly out of no-where get Eliaina's POV (His fiancee) . Turns out she's just in it for the money. Not to give too much away I'll stop here.
This was an nice read, for the drama 3.6 stars. But as a romance 3 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review my first Anna Black book and share my thoughts.
