THE KIT - I loved the Q&A with Tomi Adeyemi. While reading the book, I thought it was interesting that there were 3 POVs even though there are 4 leading characters. So I was surprised and delighted to hear how it started as a dual POV until the author realized she needed Amari's perspective. That unplanned change made this really special because it's simultaneously a story of two girls from opposite worlds and two romantic enemies.
I really liked the included activities (I am a Tider!!). I wish the discussion portion included a list of the different Orisha powers. There were so many in the book and since I listened to the audiobook they were difficult to track. It would help in the discussion of fantasy to have those details.

This book was so original.and great! I have already started on the next one in the series. It's a story I haven't heard before but alos very familiar and loved the whole thing. Thank you!!

The questions provided for a book club are great. Thank you. I love the additional recipes and activities as well. For my teen book club, this will be perfect. Thank you!

This is an incredible resource! The formatting is simple and makes the kit easy to use, and there are so many little bonuses that helped my book club really get involved in the group. I loved the idea of a Spotify playlist for when you're reading, the only thing is that it's very short and would be done before finishing a chapter or two. I liked that there was a short author interview as well. Overall a great resource.

I really appreciate these book club kits they are great for book club but also just fun to have some more information about the book. I just bought this one book and I can’t wait to buddy read it with a friend. This kit will be super helpful!

I absolutely loved the Book Club Kit! It's the perfect resource for anyone looking to enhance their reading experience and spark deeper discussions. The kit is well-organized, with insightful discussion questions, author interviews, and thoughtful suggestions for related books. It really helped guide our group's conversation and made the reading experience feel even more engaging. The additional materials, like background information on the book and its themes, provided context that enriched our understanding. Whether you're in a formal book club or just looking to dive deeper into a novel, this kit is a must-have. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic book club kit! We used everything from the playlist, the book marks, the questions and even the mini games that were included. We each had a chance to discuss the questions that were included and a couple of us even purchased a couple of the books that were recommended in the end of the kit.

Thank you to NetGalley for putting together a fun and unique book club kit! I highly recommend this for any groups reading Children of Blood and Bone.
The kit has the standard, expected items like discussion question and an author interview. The novel pieces I really appreciate are things like food pairings, a Spotify playlist, and activities for the book club. These are great ways to set the stage for discussion and make the whole event more engaging.
I also thought the “What to read next” session was a smart inclusion. Not only does this kit help facilitate covering the current book, it will also help close out the discussion by giving some options to pick from for the next book. Looking forward to putting some of these ideas into practice for this book as well as others.

This is my first book club kit I have taken a look at and it was a wonderful experience reading the interview, insight Into the story and a range of activities to do based on the book- including a menu of food and drink for a more immersed book club discussion!
The discussion questions are maybe my favourite idea of the kit.

Thank you We Are Bookish and NetGalley for allowing my family and I to review.
We chose to read this as a family in our unofficial book club. This was a great resource to get us talking. We normally tend to keep our conversations surface level but this allowed us to discuss more details that we wouldn't normally. We enjoyed the quizzes and activities that went along with this. I would recommend.

I am seriously OBSESSED with this book club kit!!! It has author interview pages, discussion question pages, good ideas, read next ideas, games…. So many fun things to use with the book!! I especially love the bookmarks!!

Another great book club recourse! I have been wanting to read this book for quite some time, and finally got it. Looking forward to reading it and then discuss it with friends that have read it.

This is a great way to engage with fellow book club members. I’ve never seen this before. It made me add to my want to read list. Thank you!

This was a great way to share a discussion and night with my readers group. I loved the author interview and the questions from Adeyemi where a great way to bring the author into our discussion. Thank you for the bookmarks and recipes. We handed out the bookmarks the meeting before and I was fun to have the colorful tie in to the cover. We had everyone write their favorite quote on the reverse of the bookmark and on the night we gathered them all on the table and played guess whose bookmark this is by the quote. It was a great way to get the discussion going. Blend that with the Jollof Rice, some roast chicken, and coconut sorbet along with a pitcher of Nigerian Chapman and we had a great time! Thanks so for building this!
Suggestion: I would love to have had some 'stickers' that we could have printed out to pass around as well as these beautiful bookmarks

Loved this kit! This book is a gem and it's so beautifully written that you totally forget you're reading... Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi is such a good story for everyone who loves a fantastic plot.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a free e-arc of this book.
I really enjoyed this book! The magic system was fantastic, the world building was great, and the characters were all so interesting! The relationships were a little on the cheesey side, but more so due to it being a YA. If the book was adult it might have been pulled off a little better.
You really feel for the main character throughout the story and the ending will leave you on a cliff hanger wanting more! I have also read the second book and it is great as well, though not as good as the first and still need to pick up the final one. I definitely suggest this read!

Thank you We Are Bookish! This is an amazing book club kit! I love all the bonus content! You thought of it all!

The Book Club Kit for *Children of Blood and Bone* by Tomi Adeyemi is a fantastic resource for enhancing book club discussions and creating an immersive experience for readers. With thoughtful discussion questions, the note to readers, and an insightful author interview, it encourages meaningful conversations and deeper engagement with the novel's themes and cultural roots. Interactive elements like the Maji Clan Quiz, the word search, and the printable bookmarks add a fun, hands-on aspect, while the playlist and book club bites & sips help set the perfect atmosphere for meetings. The helpful what to read next section, along with more information about the author and her work, ensuring the literary journey continues beyond the book. This kit is a creative, comprehensive tool that brings book clubs closer to the world of Orïsha and makes every meeting more engaging and memorable.

The interview was enjoyable and the questions set the stage for deep and political debates. The bookmarks mirrored the cover style: not my favourite, honestly.
The recipes were interesting and I am very happy to try some Nigerian food and drinks. The playlist can indeed be a pleasant choice of background music. The Maji clan quiz is a fun activity, but the word search feels more like a solitary activity. The book and film list was a nice addition.

Love the resources. I’m using the bookmarks as part of a display. I’d love to see more resources like this that include bookmarks. High school students are attracted to a book with a bookmark in it. I suggest putting some intriguing notes on the bookmark to pique their interest.
