Launching a series that begins with four different books, this looks at the migration of some Alaskan reindeer – sorry, caribou – that enter the Yukon and generally circle round that part of the Americas on an annual basis. Our guide is a chatty and friendly baby rei- caribou, able to tell us all about herself and give us highlights of her first year with the mahoosive herd she is part of. Suitably cartoonish illustrations match her voice and show the young age of the target audience, who will find a decent amount of cuteness alongside their nature notes. Is this going to be of more appeal in the US, and Canada, and elsewhere where they actually have caribou? Probably. But that doesn't make it a bad volume at all, and the series looks a welcome little one.

I genuinely learned a lot about Caribou while reading this to my nephew! The art is a perfect match. My nephew (3) enjoyed it quite a bit!

I enjoyed this book and how educational it is! My 3 year old lost interest in it a few times but that is okay she is 3! This will be a good book for her to read as she grows! The illustrations are so pretty. I love that it shows how the habitat changes for the caribou as they grow and travel! Definitely one I will bring out and read to her as she grows.

Cute and educational book! The first thing I will say about this book is that it is unique. It's not every day that you see a kids' book all about caribou. I know for certain that kids will love learning about caribou and will discover just how adorable they are (just as I did). Additionally, this book was organized really well. It moved in a circular fashion and went through each of the four seasons and what each of them means for the caribou herd. On top of that, the story of this herd created a closed loop by the end of the book, which I thought was a really smart thing to include. It shows that the behavior of the caribou is repetitive, which is an additional fact for readers. Speaking of, there were so many good facts packed into this book, but it wasn't overwhelming or boring. I was engaged throughout the entire book, and all of the information was genuinely interesting. Since it was this way for me while reading, I believe that young readers will be fascinated by this book and will have a fun time learning about the caribou in Alaska/Canada.
Bravo!

This book is absolutely adorable and educational!

Told from the first person POV of baby caribou over his first year of life, My Caribou Migration Journey takes a unique approach to teaching educational facts in story form.

The illustrations are incredible and make you feel like you are part of the Alaskan/Canadian wilderness. I can't believe how many facts the author was able to fit into this short and easy to read book without it feeling boring or dry. I learned so many interesting facts about caribou - like the fact that they walk more than any other animal in the entire world!

The author and illustrator even included an illustration of a caribou hoof print in the book. The attention to detail in both the facts presented and the illustrations is impressive.

This would make a fantastic addition to any family's bookshelves, I definitely recommend it!

I thought that this book was fantastic!

I really enjoyed the story and the way that it was written. It is easy to read and easy to follow which is perfect for the age range of the book. The layout is great, the text size is spot on and it is nice, bright and clear.

The illustrations are wonderful and help bring the book to life. The story describes what migration is like for this heard of Caribou and amongst the text there is also some facts thrown in so you are learning without even realising too which is a nice touch - I love this kind of book as a parent.

It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!

A visually pleasing children's book focusing on caribous, the local wildlife and nature. It's full of interesting information to educate children on these mammals, their habitat and how they live. I loved how the illustrator recreated the snow. Quite magical. It's a lovely piece.

MY CARIBOU MIGRATION JOURNEY is a particularly delightful, and subtly educational, well-illustrated book for children, in a series. Learn about the life cycles of migrating Caribou, from infancy to adulthood, in Alaska and the Yukon (Canada). The facts of Caribou life and biology are fascinating and will inspire young readers to learn further.
