OMG this was so good!! I was hooked from the very first page, pulled into a world of secrets and danger I never saw coming. Every twist hit me harder than the last, leaving me desperate to know what would happen next. Even when I thought I had it all figured out, the ending completely blindsided me. Loved it
This book had me hooked right from the start, it was filled with twists and turns and you just didn’t know if you were coming or going.
Seriously tense and sinister with a carefully crafted sense of foreboding and danger which mounts and mounts. It took me about a third of the way in to fully immerse myself into the story but then I was absolutely and completely hooked. It preyed on inner thoughts and fears which could be relatable, is the husband cheating on her? They’re trying desperately for a baby with all the intense pressures that puts on. I loved that the story completely flips and took me by surprise and then the extra layers of twists and turns. This is one that kept me up way past my bedtime as I really needed to know what was happening, never mind how it was going to end. Clever writing and the definition of gripping.
I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is a book where everyone is hiding something. As the secrets unravel, so do the characters.
I found the book entertaining and good enough to finish, but not great. There was so much drama and so many twists that by the time I neared the end, I found myself thinking “oh come ON” when yet another twist popped up. It just felt like too much.
Aria’s perfect life begins to unravel when she suspects her husband, Ethan, is having an affair.
As she navigates her feelings of betrayal, Aria starts to notice someone is following her.
When her friend, Isla, is murdered in the bathroom of a dark bar, Aria is left grappling with the chilling possibility that Isla’s death was meant for her.
Amidst the police investigation, rising paranoia, and Ethan's increasingly suspicious behavior, Aria is forced to question everyone around her, including herself.
In this gripping psychological thriller, the lines between trust and deceit blur, leaving Aria wondering: how well do you really know the people closest to you?
Loved it. Will recommend to others
I am grateful to have received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I was hooked into this book quickly and loved the pace and story for the first three quarters of the book. I appreciated the nuggets and hints provided along the way, and the smooth development of the storyline. I absolutely loved the first three quarters of the book. The last quarter, for me at least, felt very rushed and chaotic. I am a reader who thoroughly enjoys plausible plots. The pages in the last portion of the book were full of expected and unexpected reveals with overlapping plot twists that continued to decrease the plausibility of the characters' experiences, intentions, and actions. Again, for me, it became a bit of an eye rolling experience as it felt like one unrealistic variable after another was revealed. However, I appreciate that many readers love this type of experience and would thoroughly enjoy the build up and finale. If that is your type of book, then this book is definitely for you!
Aria and Ethan have been married for three years, and are trying to have a baby. Unfortunately, Ethan is always out of town for business, so that makes conceiving even more difficult. But what's even more difficult than that is Aria is convinced that Ethan is having an affair, just based off of some odd behavior that Ethan has been doing. After quite some time, she starts to feel like someone has been following her and after receiving some disturbing emails, the first of which asking her how well she knows her husband, she’s definitely feeling even more uneasy about how she feels towards Ethan now.
Aria and some of her friends get together at a bar to celebrate Cassandra, when they realized they hadn't seen one of their other friends in awhile. When they go check out the bathroom, they find her....dead.
This book was filled with so many common domestic thriller tropes, like infidelity, jealousy, rivalry, mendacity, violence and secrets from the past. All of which I always enjoy in a thriller and enjoyed in this one as well.
I enjoyed the ending probably the most, despite the plot being kinda meh for me. It was a quick read though, which I do always like.
Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this ARC as well as the publisher!
Thanks net galley for this most enjoyable book, though I must say it did get a bit confusing sometimes.
Aria thought she had the perfect life, a wonderful husband a perfect job as a nurse and great friends.
But Aria thinks someone may be following her, and it’s making her feel nervous.
Her husband then starts having lots of business trips away from for days which is making aria think that her husband Ethan is having an affair.
Especially after one of her best friends got killed and on phoning her husband he never came home to support her
How well do you really know your husband, it sure makes you think.
This got me hooked from start to finish. A gripping domestic thriller and I enjoyed the pacing and did not see the twist coming. Highly recommend
Aria's perfect life turns out to be not so perfect as she increasingly suspects her husband Ethan is cheating. Add to that the eerie sense someone's always watching and following just enough behind that she can't identify them, and the paranoia is heavy!
Ethan has become controlling and distant, and has gone so far as to mandate she doesn't go out to have a drink with her girlfriends since they're so heavily focused on getting pregnant. This has caused her to withdraw from her friend group and avoid sharing the reality of her situation with them. They all know something's up, and insist she join them for a mystery celebration with drinks at a local bar. But their friend Isla is found murdered that night in the bathroom. This only feeds Aria's fears, and rightfully so. As she confronts her fears and suspicions, she finds many surprises along the way.
Most of the characters were relatable and developed well enough, and while the story wasn't exactly groundbreaking, it was extremely intense and riveting. I had a hard time putting it down!
Thanks to NetGalley, TBR | Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles and M.Q. Webb for the eARC.
This was the first book I have read from this author and I was impressed! I found the story to be intriguing and full of twists and turns. There is definitely a lot going on in this book and definitely kept me wanting to read more and more.
Aria and her husband Ethan are beyond the honeymoon stage after 3 years of marriage. Is it because Ethan is taking longer and longer business trips? When her friend Isla is murdered, Aria begins to discover little odd things about Ethan. Is he who he says he is? Filled with fun twists and turns, I really enjoyed the descriptive style of writing. Thoroughly enjoyed this novel! Looking forward to reading more of MQ Webb’s books.
Aria and Ethan are trying for a baby but things start to feel off with her husband. Things are not adding up, is he having an affair? Someone is following her, her friend is murdered and beside all of this ...she also has a secret. A bit of a mish mosh in the beginning but all hell breaks out in the last third of the book. I felt a little whiplashed at how fast the details were coming in...wish there had been back story on Ethan.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC ...happy to read and review.
Now I feel the need to wake up my husband and ask him a few questions. 👀
I was entranced from the start. Couldn't put it down until I finished.
I was even eyeing Cassandra at one point.
Contains possible spoilers...
I found this sinister and creepy in parts which helped to move the book along, but sadly the story didn't really engage me as there were so many things I wanted to say to Aria! Why was she reluctant to tell her best friend about trying for a baby- surely she could have trusted her to keep a secret like that, especially if her friend wasn't in regular contact with her husband? Why would she risk going to meet a stranger who could have done anything to her? Why did Ethan need a housekeeper if the flat was so small? Would she really have flown all that way and then just turned around and came home? Why didn't the police question her more when she had been out with her friend when she was murdered? I think that was the part that annoyed me most. Surely her and Caroline would have been interviewed properly straight away. There was too much in the book that was just unbelievable, and I really wanted the book to end.
The opening of this book scared me; it gave me those fun goosebumps; I thought, yay, finally, a real thriller; sad to say, it devolved into a psych drama. It did keep my attention, but honestly, if I had not requested the book, and promised to write a review, I would have gone to another book. I prefer realistic books; this is not for people like me; it's for those who can suspend belief for a couple of days. This woman believes her husband is cheating on her and possibly murdered her friends, and she isn't afraid to be alone with him, much less being alone with a woman who breaks into her home. The behavior of the protagonist makes her look like she is mentally unstable! The ending is bizarre; it makes no sense to me; it's like sitting around brainstorming and coming up with the most outrageous idea! I think if you like unbelievable scenarios and melodrama TV, then this will be up your alley.

good mystery about a couple and staying in a house and the other couple there. kept me on my toes . good mystery and figuring stuff out.
First thanks to NetGalley for the early release read. Story grabs you from the first page. If you enjoy thrillers this will delight. Although lots of head scratching at the end for disbelief (IMO) on outcome. If you throw away logic & just go for the thriller book ride, this book delivers. I enjoyed it. (I provided the review couple of weeks ago and it vanished.)
How Well Do You Know Your Husband? This is a psychological thriller with shocking twists that will keep you guessing. I was addicted from page one and couldn't put this book down! This book came with twist after twist, with a fantastic storyline. I really enjoyed it, and would recommend adding it to your TBR! If you think you know what is going on you are wrong, and I was not expecting the ending at all! This is the first book I've read from this author but I look forward to reading more in the future!!
It felt like the author was given a dare to put a smattering of crimes into one novel. Listing them would confuse a future reader and having just finished the book, I'm terribly confused. Aria as a main character was frustratingly dim. I did devour the book, so the writing did keep me hooked.
