This is such and adventurous book and one I thoroughly enjoyed. It has everything you want and need from a good murder mystery plus some humour, cosiness and a whole lot of fun.

Loved all the characters in this book and the story was not predictable, kept me not only reading but on the edge of my seat. But it made me laugh and it took me on a very adventurous journey which I really enjoyed I didn't realise it was a part of a series so now I have to go find the other books. .

Thank you NetGalley and Bloodhound Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I will recommend this book. It's a good read. It starts with a murder from the past and then into the present.

Well, hang onto your hats as we are off on an adventure with Pru, Bree, Hilda, Millie, Clarissa, Ethel as they go on their holidays to Harmony Hollows Resort, which is reminiscent of 1960's Butlin package deals! The Winterbottom Women's Institute have no clue to what they stumble at the resort. The story is told over dual time lines - 1983 and the present. In 1983, Elodie Marshall is sent to a mental health sanatorium for the crimes as she is deemed to be unfit to go to prison. Pru's husband DS Andy Barnes warns Pru not to do anything silly like investigate this and any future crimes, which she does try not to get involved. Of course, the WI ladies fail, lol!! The book is full of laugh out loud moments, plenty of plot twists and turns with a few red herrings, which leads to a dramatic conclusion.

This is a great cozy mystery. It is a little slower pace than some, but completely enjoyable. Lots of little tidbits along the way to keep the reader completely engaged. While this is the fourth in the series, it is the first I have read, and had no trouble following along.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to Bloodhound Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. Due to be published 16/10/2024.

This is the 4th book in the series but actually the 1st that I've read. It's great as a standalone story so you can pick it up without worrying about missing any background.

The cost mystery does show a villain early on but don't let it lull you into a false sense of security!! There's more to come and a whole lot to unpick.

It's a relatively slow burn but not without mischief and mayhem along the way. It's a good book to get stuck into. Loved the reference to Hi-de-hi and Butlins 😂

This was a strong fourth entry in the Constable Mavis Upton series, it had that feel that I enjoyed from the previous entries. The characters were everything that I wanted and enjoyed how they interacted with the story. Gina Kirkham has a great writing style and hope there is more in this series.
