This was a cute murder/mystery book. Overall, it was a slow read for me, possibly because of the style of writing or the amount of characters, but a solid 3.5 stars.

I received an ARC of this book, and am voluntarily leaving my review.

this was cute! however, the cast was a bit too big to keep track of everyone and some characters felt underutilized. the writing style was enjoyable, too.

<i>thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for a honest review</i>

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc!

2.5 stars for this one🌟 This was a cozy, quick read and a delightful murder mystery! It was perfect for passing the time while being entertained. The concept felt fresh, and I loved all the characters. However, I found it a bit challenging to follow the timelines, and I felt that having two chapters cover the same day—morning and evening—was somewhat redundant. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it!

Deadlines and Valentines by Heather Weider is a cute little murder mystery set around valentines day time.

Its a cute murder mystery with a who done it vibe.

I loved the setting around a romance book convention. I've never read a book like this before but and i enjoyed it

#DeadlinesandValentines #NetGalley is another fun adventure featuring Jules Keene.
I liked this book a lot and the animosity among all the authors made this book fun to read.
Everyone had a motive, but who is the real killer?
Jules really has her work cut out for her to solve this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

This book was a quick and easy read and it kept my attention the whole time. The FMC is witty and outgoing and just generally a fun character to follow. The setting of the Fern valley resort was adorable, plus a book event? Count me in. I do wish we would’ve gotten to see the festival events more in detail in the beginning, as it was such a fun concept that i wanted to be able to explore more while settling into the story.
I thought the interactions of the diva authors was hilarious, and really added to the story, we don’t normally get funny moments in the true crime genre so it was really a treat. The overall murder - who done it - plot was fun to watch unfold, and definitely felt like a classic scooby do type vibe. I appreciate that the supporting characters had a little depth to them, but not too crazy to where it pulled away from the plot and pacing of the book. i adored jules, so relatable and honestly just trying her best at all times. Felt like a real person on a page.

Overall this was a fun quick read and if you’re a fellow yapper like me, you’ll enjoy the dialogue driven story line.

"Deadlines and Valentines (Jules Keene Glamping Mystery #4)" by Heather Weidner is set around Valentine's Day during a romance book convention that Jules's town and camping resort is hosting. There are several romance authors staying in Jules' various tiny houses and trailers. Some of them are quite nice, while others bring the drama.

Where there's drama there's going to be problems. One of the authors is found dead and several more get attacked. It's just one chaotic thing after another. It was a bit difficult to pin down any one suspect. However, in the end it did make sense. Looking back I can see how that person could be a stronger suspect.

A simple and cute cozy mystery, this is an easy read that will help get you out of a slump. There are a lot of characters which can be hard to keep track of but the banter is fun.

I couldn’t finish this book because it felt like a mess from the start. The first chapter hit me with way too much info, making it hard to get into the story. The dialogue was long and awkward, with bad transitions that made conversations feel forced. Plus, there were grammar errors that made it even harder to follow. They introduced way too many characters too quickly, and I just couldn’t keep track of who was who. Overall, it was a quick read, but the issues really killed my interest.

A cute cosy mystery.

There are a lot of characters to get your head around which can be a little tricky to keep track of.

The mystery was quite easy to piece together and the valentines theme really sweetened the story.

What a fun who-done-it this book turned out to be. Set against the backdrop of a picturesque and chilly small town, we have the murder of the nice female author. Before I jump to the mystery, I want to pause first and talk about the backdrop of this book. Jules, a small town resort owner, and her fellow town business owners put on a romance weekend in preparation for Valentines. By romance, I don't mean the traditional romantic Valentines, I mean a festival dedicated to romance authors. It also amazes me the description of the festivals or events that take center stage in cozies. This book was no different especially the romance cover model show, ooh la la (LOL.)
Jules relied heavily on her friend Pixel for research. After reading this book, I think Pixel needs her own series if for no other reason than because an IT person for the FBI named Pixel. I love it and would read that book. Jumping back to the mystery, it was a true who-done-it with a lot of suspects especially the divas. I had a few guesses on who the killer was but the author did a nice jump of showing Jules puzzle out the answer. This was a fun book and while I think an early January release might make more sense since we are in other holiday mode now. Overall, I would recommend it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Level Best Books for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This book was a cozy simple mystery. Honestly I enjoyed it though I expected a few more twists. I enjoyed that every character had it’s completely own personality and the authors weren’t all the same. Also, adding the recipes at the end?? CUTEST IDEA!!

Book Title: Deadlines and Valentines
Author: Heather Weidner

What a rollercoaster of book this was.

Welcome to Fern Valley’s Love is in the Air Book Festival. “Hello. I’m Jules Keene, owner of the Fern Valley Luxury Camping Resort.

Yes, so this Book was a tapestry woven with true crime, suspense, thrilling and gut wrenching plots. I Love each and every character both for their beautiful and ugly side. The book also has some hilarious and jealousy filled rivalry between author's and how it turns so nasty that one of them even end up losing their life.

The book title won't give us the hint about the mystery involved but I really loved how it was written beautifully with a back story of Valentines day and the book festival. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it was a fresh read for me except that mystery and crime part.

I love Jules character the most. How she was patient & hospitable to her author guest and dealt with all their unrealistic tantrums and showing interest in their personal well-being.

The thing I found confusing was there were too many pen names given to the author making it difficult to recollect who's who, but luckily kindle made it easy with the highlighting feature and later in the book they were referred by one singular name throughout their multiple pen names. To name a few here are some quirky author names,i.e Cinnamon Moon’s, Allegra Rhodes’s, Gigi Johnson. It’s short for Virginia.”, Phoenix Abbott or Tracey Davis & Echo Aames,” and last but not the least Windsor Abernathy.

I really loved the quirky banter of Gigi with echo and phoenix all three of them had air to grind 😁.

Secondly the bitter sweet rant of Windsor and her assistant Tiffany. The thing I Love this most was Jules endearment towards this book festival and how she stood through the thicks and thins to make it a memorable one for all the authors and the guest attending the festival. I really loved how every event was beautifully and gloriously planned making me feel mentally present at this book festival. And the friendship between Jules and Gwen pixel is unmissable.

All in all this book was a breather for me as it got me out of my reading slump. Although I waded a bit through some page but I devoured each and every page of it. The best part is that it's written in a conversational tone making it a fast paced read.

I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves books with a blend of mystery in it to give this book a read.

<b>What I loved:</b>
-This is exactly what I was hoping for: a cute valentine's murder mystery. It's a cute short story/book, so I will definitely recommend this to those looking for a quicker, fun read.
-Quick murder mystery, Scooby Doo style, super fun whodunit.
-Perfect spooky fun read with Valentine's vibes thrown in.

<b>What I didn't love:</b>
-There are a lot of characters which is difficult to keep track of.
-The transitions from scene to scene/environment to environment can be slightly confusing as the book goes back and forth without a substantial visual formatted transition.
-The writing style is not my favorite. It's not passive tense but it's not a casual tense, and this book is rather causal. This is a personal preference I believe. This may just not be the right book for me personally is all. You might love it.
