Finally a trilogy that each book is as strong as the last. Have tried to drag out reading these books as sad to finish. Maybe there will be even be one more one day. Blake Crouch is firmly one of my favourite authors and I am going to work through his back catalogue.

Welcome to Wayward Pines, the last town.
Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrived in Wayward Pines, Idaho, three weeks ago. In this town, people are told who to marry, where to live, where to work. Their children are taught that David Pilcher, the town’s creator, is God. No one is allowed to leave; even asking questions can get you killed.
But Ethan has discovered the astonishing secret of what lies beyond the electrified fence that surrounds Wayward Pines and protects it from the terrifying world beyond. It is a secret that has the entire population completely under the control of a madman and his army of followers, a secret that is about to come storming through the fence to wipe out this last, fragile remnant of humanity.

So, finally I reach the end of this series...and I have to say, this was the worst of the three books. That's not to say that this book was bad in any way, but after setting the bar so high in the first two books, finishing it up in a completely satifying way was always going to be a test. And one that the author was only mildly successful with...

However, the previous 280 pages or so had kept up the excellent story-telling that began back in Pines and then carried on with Wayward. Those books were so very good to read that I made it to this finale with such high hopes.

So, the best way to sum up this series is to say "Go and read it for yourself." That is the best way for everyone to gauge this series.
