This was a fun little retelling for any Office fans out there! Santa Michael (with helper Dwight) comes to the office to deliver special gifts for each of the employees while they sleep! Each gift is tailored to the character and fans will enjoy the memories that all the items remind you of! It may even encourage you to watch all the episodes once again! The only complaint I have is with the illustrations. They were... unique and slightly caricature-ish. Some didn't look very accurate for the actor/actress.
I was given a free copy of this from @netgalley in exchange for my honest review. It has already been published, so pick it up for any Office fan on your Christmas list!
Thank you NetGalley and Brian Baumgartner for the eARC!
What an adorable little illustrated book! This was so much fun to read and each gift from “Santa” and his “elf” could be traced back to a specific moment in the tv show involving each character. I so loved this and will have to purchase a physical copy to own when it comes out!!
this was absolutely adorable and a must-read for any the office fan! my husband and i couldn’t stop laughing as i read it aloud—every page was a perfect blend of humor and nostalgia that we both loved.
Short and cute redo of the Night before Christmas but told through the Office. If you are a fan of the tv show and know the inside jokes, you will like this retelling. The length makes it easy to read in one sitting, so if you are looking for a fun replacement for the original, this is it.
I am so excited this book is out because I will be gifting it left, right, and center at every event I will be attending this holiday season. The details in every bit of the story-- Kevin with his childlike personality being the one to spy, and then the details in the presents (Gabe's made me audibly laugh), and even including a "That's what she said"!! Utter delight and joy to read today.
I’m a huge fan of The Office, so yeah, this was cute. I enjoyed the nostalgia of thinking about the show and the fun illustrations. However, I found it a little lacking. I’m sure it’s probably just a me thing. Maybe I had an expectation in my head that it didn’t meet. I’m sure many fans of the show will love this addition to their collection of show memorabilia.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the advanced ebook.
This says it's for all ages, but I know the reason I found it so hilarious is because I know the characters from the show so well. It was really a lot of fun and I thought the author made good choices on what made each person unique. But it would still be fun to read with kids because of the rhymes and the story. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
This riff on 'The Night Before Christmas' is a fun little book for fans of 'The Office' (2005 - 2013). The book opens with the line:
"Twas the night before Christmas, and all through Dunder Mifflin
Not an accountant was stirring, not a mouse was a'clickin."
The poem later goes on:
"The holiday party was over and Scranton's best employees
Were nestled all snug, asleep at their PCs."
Then Kevin - who's dreaming of a full chili pot - is awakened by a clatter, after which Santa Claus (Michael Scott) and an elf tiptoe into Dunder Mifflin to distribute presents. As Kevin secretly watches, Santa leaves a uniquely appropriate gift for each employee. I'll give some examples:
"Next to Pam, he placed a brand-new paint set
By Stanley, a retirement countdown, as if he'd ever forget!"
*****
To Erin, Santa's old George Foreman Grill was bestowed
While Toby was given garbage from the side of the road."
*****
"Santa then came toward Kevin, who kept his eyes shut tight,
And left brand-new drumsticks, to the accountant's delight."
.......and so on.
*****
The book concludes:
"Merry Christmas to all - and to all a good night....
.....except Toby."
The book is enhanced by cute and clever illustrations, and would a great stocking stuffer for folks who love 'The Office'.
Thanks to Netgalley, Brian Baumgartner and Ben Silverman, and Mariner Books for a copy of the book.
This is a short and fun parody of The Night Before Christmas featuring all the Dunder Mifflin characters you know in love. Lots of little nods to the show that fans will laugh at. Would be a fun coffee table holiday book for an Office Fan.
This was cute, quick, and full of Dunder Mifflin-y Christmas Cheer! (Except for Toby.)
Written in the style of "T'was the Night Before Christmas" this Office christmas story was absolutely adorable. I did find that the flow of the story fumbled a few times, but that didn't take too much away from the read, The art was adorable as was the story. Reading this at Christmas time will definitely become a new family tradition.
This book is perfect for any fans of The Office or Christmas.
Adorable!!! I can never pass up anything Office related! This is a definite must buy for Office lovers!
As a fan of 'The Office', I thought this book was so fun and just the light-hearted thing I needed to read this week. There are illustrations throughout that are reminiscent of desk doodles, not that any of Dunder Mifflin's employees would ever get distracted doing something like that at work. And I loved the show references within the book, it made for some wonderful nostalgic moments. If someone on your Christmas list was a fan of the show, I think this would make an amazing gift.
Perfect for any lover of The Office! This is a fun spin on a holiday classic written by none other than Kevin himself, Brian Baumgartner, & one of the executive producers of the show, Ben Silverman. It’s a great way to include the whole family in the love so many share for this series. There’s tons of references for The Office lovers to catch & the illustrations are so cute! I can’t wait to add the hardcover to my bookshelf.
Thank you to NetGalley & Mariner Books for the advance copy.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!!
This had me rolling with laughter!! So freaking funny!! The IPod, the AirFreshner, Tanning spray and the trash!! Soo freaking funny!! I finished it in like 5 minutes lol
I received a free copy of, The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin,by Brian Baumgarten; Ben Silverman, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have never seen the Office, I just love Christmas books. This was a cute Christmas story.
I enjoyed the artwork and the overall story but I could not get past the rhythm. It didn’t flow and for a kids book that’s the most important thing.
If you’re a fan of The Office, you will not want to miss this book!
The Night before Dunder Mifflin Christmas was written by Brian Baumgartner and Ben Silverman, though we know Brian best as lovable Kevin!
His book features all of our favorite things about the office, including little nods to their best episodes! We even get an appearance from Kevin’s famous chili! Imagine Michael Scott is Santa Clause and is trying to get all of his employees the best gift. We even manage to get a “That’s what she said!”
It was a short read, but definitely something I will reread when I’m missing The Office! I rate it as 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.
This was such a fun short read!!! Read it with my sister who is a huge office fan as well and we had a couple of good laughs and loved the artwork throughout the book.
I absolutely loved this fun take on The Night Before Christmas! It blended the iconic characters of The Office with the traditional holiday story we all know and love.
This was such a great Christmas book for Office fans! I LOVED it! There are so many inside jokes you’ll recognize from the show. It’s the perfect gift for the Office lover in your life! The illustrations were hilarious too!
Thank you to NetGalley, Brian Baumgartner, Ben Silverman and Mariner Books for providing me with the ARC!
